'Made in America' country music legend Toby Keith dead at 62

Country music legend Toby Keith died Monday night after a lengthy battle with stomach cancer. A message posted to the "Should've Been a Cowboy" singer's social media page noted that he died surround by his family.

"He fought his fight with grace and courage," continued the message. "Please respect the privacy of his family at this time."

The Oklahoma native, born in Clinton on July 8, 1961, announced in June 2022 that he had cancer and that he had been undergoing chemotherapy for several months.

— (@)

Prior to his receipt of the Country Icon Award at the inaugural People's Choice Country Awards in September 2023, the derrickhand's son told Fox News Digital, "I lean on my faith, and I just pray."

"You gotta do what you gotta do, and I don't know how people do it without faith. ... That's that what I did," added Keith.

The singer underscored that throughout his battle with cancer, faith "was [his] rock."

Upon receiving the Country Icon Award, Keith singled out his Creator, saying, "I want to thank the Almighty for allowing me to be here tonight. He's been riding shotgun with me for a little while."

— (@)

Keith sold over 40 million records worldwide and had over 60 singles reach the country charts; 42 top-10 hits; and at least 20 singles at number one in the charts — including "Who's Your Daddy?," "My List," "How Do You Like me Now?!," "As Good as I Once Was," "Beer for My Horses," and "Made in America."

According to his website, his music also netted over 10 billion streams.

The New York Times indicated Keith was already in his 30s when he signed his first record deal in 1993. He previously worked as a semi-pro football player with the Oklahoma City Drillers, a rodeo hand, and a roughneck in the Oklahoma oil fields.

He told Dan Rather on "The Big Interview" in 2018 that when "Should've Been a Cowboy" became his first No. 1 country single in 1993, he was performing "28, 29 shows a month because I didn't know I was going to get a second hit."

"At the time I was just trying to outwork everybody," he added.

Keith was an unapologetic patriot even when his love of country prickled others in the music industry.

The Times noted that Keith's No. 1 country single "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American)" — a heartfelt response to the death of his father, a disabled veteran, and the 9/11 Islamic terror attacks on the U.S. — upset others with its nationalist flare.

Keith later noted, "I don't apologize for being patriotic."

In addition to going on 11 USO tours visiting American troops overseas, the Associated Press indicated Keith raised millions of dollars for various charities over the course of his career and built the OK Kids Korral in Oklahoma City — a cost-free home for children fighting cancer.

Keith is survived by Tricia Keith, his wife of 39 years; his three children; his brother, mother, and sister; and four grandchildren.

Toby Keith shares update on his battle with stomach cancer, revealing what's kept him going: 'He's been riding shotgun with me'

Country music legend Toby Keith announced in June 2022 that he was battling stomach cancer and had been undergoing chemotherapy for several months.

"So far, so good," he reassured fans, noting that he needed time "to breathe."

Ahead of receiving the Country Icon Award at the inaugural People's Choice Country Awards on Thursday, the 62-year-old Oklahoma native indicated how he purposed some of those precious breaths.

"I lean on my faith, and I just pray," he told Fox News Digital. "You gotta do what you gotta do, and I don't know how people do it without faith. ... That's that what I did."

Keith emphasized that throughout his battle, faith "was [his] rock."

Upon being presented the award Thursday night by fellow country star and Christian Blake Shelton, Keith joked, "I bet y'all never thought you would see me in skinny jeans."

While he made sure to thank his family, fans, and collaborators, he singled out his creator, saying, "I want to thank the Almighty for allowing me to be here tonight. He's been riding shotgun with me for a little while."

He appears to have an edge in his battle with cancer, telling E! News, "I feel pretty good. ... It's a little bit of a roller coaster. You get good days and, you know, you're up and down, up and gown [sic]. It's always zero to 60 and 60 to zero but I feel good today."

In June, the musician revealed to the Oklahoman that his tumor had shrunk by a third and that everything was "in a real positive trend."

At the award show, Keith played "Don't Let the Old Man In" from Clint Eastwood's 2018 film "The Mule" before an audience of misty eyes.

Concerning his choice of song, Keith told NBC, "Coming back on TV for the first time and performing live in front of a live audience, I thought it was fitting."

Keith sings in the song, "When he rides up on his horse,/ And you feel that cold, bitter wind, / Look out your window and smile. / Don't let the old man in."

Keith noted he looks forward to return to performing in the fall if "everything goes good."

Unhinged leftist Keith Olbermann faces bipartisan scorn after demanding that Jake Tapper resign over admission Durham report is 'devastating to the FBI'

The Durham report, which revealed this week that the FBI investigation into the 2016 Trump campaign was baseless, has served to further discredit the already scandal-plagued bureau.

Even CNN's Jake Tapper felt compelled to admit on his show Monday that the report is "devastating to the FBI, and to a degree it does exonerate Donald Trump."

While Tapper attempted to pin some blame on former President Donald Trump, the CNN host nevertheless managed to draw the ire of Keith Olbermann, a YouTube personality unswayed by facts and ever committed to the debunked Russian-collusion narrative.

Olbermann demanded on Twitter that Tapper resign for noting the FBI's self-inflicted reputational wounds, which even the FBI has acknowledged in softened language to have been "missteps."

In response to Tapper's suggestion that the report is "devastating to the FBI," Olbermann tweeted, "It isn't. Not even close. No charges, just partisan 'conclusions.' And Tapper of the new non-journalist Chris Licht CNN is propagandizing," adding, "Jake Tapper needs to resign."

“CNN's new scandal:

@jaketapper says the Durham Report is "devastating to the FBI"

It isn't. Not even close. No charges, just partisan "conclusions." And Tapper of the new non-journalistic Chris Licht CNN is propagandizing

Jake Tapper needs to resign”
— Keith Olbermann↙️ (@Keith Olbermann↙️) 1684187251

In a rare show of unity and bipartisanship, Twitter users of various backgrounds and political persuasions blasted Olbermann over his viral tweet, which has over 570,000 views.

Investigative reporter Matt Taibbi wrote, "Keith, @JakeTapper is right. And the report isn't just devastating to the FBI, it's devastating to media figures who ran bogus stories that were either leaked by the Bureau, or laundered through it."

Taibbi then cited various instances where Olbermann previously peddled baseless agitprop on his now-defunct GQ show "The Resistance with Keith Olbermann."

Several of the show's episode titles allude to Olbermann's confident assertions of what have been demonstrated to be falsehoods: "Case Closed. Collusion Has Been Proven"; "A Timeline of Treason"; "Trump Will Not Be Cleared"; "Trump is Aiding the Enemy"; and "Trump is Lying About Russia."

Here is one of Olbermann's false reports from 2017:

Case Closed. Collusion Has Been Proven | The Resistance with Keith Olbermann | GQ youtu.be

In a subsequent tweet, Taibbi asked, "Which parts do you think are incorrect, Keith?"

Liberal journalist Eli Lake, who serves as contributing editor at Commentary, wrote, "This is the first resistance in the history of resistance to align itself with a federal police force," referencing Olbermann's former show "The Resistance," whereon he advanced falsehoods discredited in the Durham report and elsewhere.

Lake added, "To call Keith a buffoon is an insult to buffoonery."

One Twitter user wrote to Olbermann, "Your tears of denial are delicious."

Another commentator cut to the bone, writing, "It’s clear… you’re entire identity is tied to your Trump views these last 5 years."

The Durham report, which Olbermann does not consider to be "devastating," stressed that the Department of Justice and the FBI "failed to uphold their mission of strict fidelity to the law" when launching the probe into the Trump campaign.

Durham said the FBI utilized “raw, unanalyzed, and uncorroborated intelligence" to open the investigation into the Trump campaign but did not follow the same standard when approaching alleged election interference in relation to Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign.

Durham also found that the FBI “did not and could not corroborate any of the substantive allegations” made in the infamous Steele dossier of lurid accusations against then-candidate Donald Trump, and "neither U.S. nor the Intelligence Community appears to have possessed any actual evidence of collusion in their holdings at the commencement of the Crossfire Hurricane investigation."

Man electrocuted to death after being pushed onto subway tracks in downtown Baltimore, police say: 'That's evil, that's totally evil'

Maryland police say that a man was pushed onto the train tracks at a subway station in downtown Baltimore and was electrocuted to death.

Police said they found a 28-year-old man on the tracks on Wednesday just before 6 p.m. at the Shot Tower metro stop, near Port Discovery. Baltimore city medics tried to revive the victim, but he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Investigators said that the victim had been standing near the edge of the platform when another man pushed him from behind onto the tracks.

The unidentified suspect fled from the scene.

Police later identified the victim as Christopher Foster of Cockeysville. They are seeking to identify and find the suspect who pushed Foster.

— Keith Daniels Fox45 (@Keith Daniels Fox45) 1681413219

Investigators have not determined whether it was a random attack or if the assailant was known to the victim.

Regular commuters on the metro were shocked when told about the incident.

"I just hate that man lost his life like that," said Robert Thomas to WJZ-TV. "Somebody pushed him, that's evil, that's totally evil."

The Shot Tower metro station is across the street from the Baltimore Police Headquarters.

Despite the horrific incident, a recent police report said that violent crimes in Baltimore have dropped by 16% since 2018. Other crimes have dropped during the four-year span as well, including property crime by 26%.

The report also indicated that there was a 24% drop in shootings in the first quarter of 2023, as well as a 21% drop in homicides during the same time. Gun arrests, on the other hand, have increased by 33% since 2019.

Shaq slam dunks on Keith Olbermann, tells him to 'shut your dumb a** up' after former ESPN anchor blasted conduct of LSU's Angel Reese in title game

NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal slam dunked on Keith Olbermann early Monday, telling the outspoken former ESPN anchor to "shut your dumb a** up" after Olbermann ranted on Twitter about the behavior of LSU's Angel Reese in her team's title game win Sunday over Iowa.

What are the details?

Reese made headlines for taunting Iowa star Caitlin Clark with Clark's own taunt of waving her hand in front her face — a way of saying "Can't see me!" — and also by pointing at her ring finger to signify a championship:

“ANGEL REESE TO CAITLIN CLARK 😳”
— SportsCenter (@SportsCenter) 1680472338

Outkick said some were behind Reese for "giving Clark, a notorious trash talker, a taste of her own medicine. But others — like our favorite unhinged sports commentator — did not approve."

In reference to Reese, Olbermann on Sunday evening tweeted, "What a f***ing idiot."

He added, "Doesn't matter the gender, the sport, the background — you're seconds away from a championship, and you do something like this and overshadow all the good. Mindless, classless, and what kind of coach does this team have?"

Later that night, Shaq let Olbermann have it, telling him to "shut your dumb a** up" and to "leave Angel Reese alone."

More from Outkick:

But Shaq wasn’t the only one who jumped on Olbermann. Thousands of Twitter users invited him to bring that same energy to Caitlin Clark, too. Clark has made headlines during the tournament for her “can’t see me” taunts and even waving off a South Carolina player.

An apology — sort of

On Monday morning, Olbermann offered a kind of apology:

“I apologize for being uninformed last night about the back story on this. I don't follow hoops, college or pro, men or women. I had no idea about Clark. Both were wrong.

This is what I said in today's Countdown podcast. 2nd segment, about 24 minutes in: https://t.co/JDYjXBrkWy”
— Keith Olbermann (@Keith Olbermann) 1680473156

“I apologize for being uninformed last night about the back story on this,” he tweeted. “I don’t follow hoops, college or pro, men or women. I had no idea about Clark. Both were wrong.”

He also included further thoughts, saying that "Reese was named MVP of the tournament, and nobody will remember that, nor the LSU crown, just the fact that women's hoops has now achieved parity with the men: its stars can be classless winners who are willing to overshadow their own team's victories."

White House accuses GOP officials of 'creating chaos' and 'confusion' by sending 50 migrants to Martha's Vineyard. Ted Cruz says, 'Now try 4.2 million.'

The White House on Thursday lashed out at Republican elected officials for sending illegal immigrants to Democrat-run sanctuary cities like Martha's Vineyard, Mass., and Washington, D.C., with press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre delivering a stream of invectives denouncing actions by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R), as well as several GOP senators.

"Using migrants as political pawns is shameful, is reckless, and just plain wrong," Jean-Pierre told reporters at a press briefing. "If these governors truly care about border security, they should ask Texas Governor Ted Cruz and Florida Senators Marco Rubio and Rick Scott why they voted against the president's request for record funding for the Department of Homeland Security."

She said there is a legal process in place for processing asylum-seekers into the U.S. and that Republican governors are "creating chaos" and "confusion" by interfering with that process.

“KJP: "Using migrants as political pawns is shameful, is reckless, and just plain wrong...if these governors truly care about border security, they should ask Texas *governor* Ted Cruz...why [he] voted against...record funding for DHS."”
— Townhall.com (@Townhall.com) 1663265420

A DeSantis spokeswoman told Fox News Wednesday that two planes full of migrants were sent from Florida to Martha's Vineyard as part of a state relocation program to carry illegal immigrants to sanctuary cities. Officials from Dukes County, Massachusetts, later confirmed that about 50 individuals from Venezuela were delivered at Martha's Vineyard Airport seeking shelter, referring to the situation as a "humanitarian crisis."

— Visit Martha's Vineyard (@Visit Martha's Vineyard) 1663255922

Additionally, two buses carrying migrants arrived at Vice President Kamala Harris' residence in Washington, D.C., on Thursday morning. Texas Gov. Abbott took credit for sending the migrants in a statement promising to continue sending migrants to sanctuary cities until the federal government secures the border.

"Our supposed Border Czar, VP Harris, has yet to see firsthand the impact of the open border policies she has helped implement," Abbott tweeted. "Texas will continue sending migrants to sanctuary cities like D.C. until Biden & Harris do their jobs to secure the border."

“Our supposed Border Czar, VP Harris, has yet to see firsthand the impact of the open border policies she has helped implement.

Texas will continue sending migrants to sanctuary cities like D.C. until Biden & Harris do their jobs to secure the border.”
— Greg Abbott (@Greg Abbott) 1663260068

The actions by the Republican governors provoked a meltdown by liberals on social media. Jean-Pierre blasted the GOP governors, calling the migrant drop-offs a "cruel premeditated political stunt."

“It’s really just disrespectful to humanity. It is — it doesn’t afford them any dignity, what they’re doing, when you’re abandoning families and children in a place where they were told they were going to get housing, in a place where they were told they were going to get jobs,” Jean-Pierre said. “It is just cruel.”

Responding to the outrage, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) mocked Jean-Pierre for incorrectly stating his office.

“Rent free.”
— Ted Cruz (@Ted Cruz) 1663266293

"To be fair, sending anyone to be surrounded by rich, hypocritical liberals is pretty cruel & inhumane," Cruz said in response to her criticisms.

— Ted Cruz (@Ted Cruz) 1663268766

Earlier, the Texas senator applauded the actions by DeSantis and Abbott and accused Democrats in Martha's Vineyard of hypocrisy.

"Kudos to @GovRonDeSantis for sending illegal immigrants to Martah's Vineyard. When I proposed the same last year, the elected leadership welcomed it," Cruz said.

“1/x Kudos to ⁦@GovRonDeSantis⁩ for sending illegal immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard.

When I proposed the same last year, the elected leadership welcomed it:

County commissioner Keith Chatinover: “I would LOVE Martha’s Vineyard to become a haven…” https://t.co/R1FyL5URCJ”
— Ted Cruz (@Ted Cruz) 1663251669

He referenced legislation he introduced last year called the "Stop the SURGE Act," which would have established 13 new points of entry for migrants in sanctuary city jurisdictions, including Martha's Vineyard. Cruz recalled that at the time, Dukes County Commissioner Keith Chatinover (D) welcomed immigrants to come to Martha's Vineyard.

“I would love Martha’s Vineyard to become a haven for new immigrants to this country, but Senator Cruz has no idea what he’s talking about regarding a ‘border crisis,’” Chatinover told the Martha's Vineyard Times in October 2021.

"Let’s see if the Dems in Martha’s Vineyard feel the same way after a few thousand illegal immigrants arrive on their doorstep," Cruz said Thursday morning.

“3/x “…and he is trying to whip up racial anxieties for political gain, which is essentially the entire GOP platform anyhow.”

🚨🚨🚨 HYPOCRISY ALERT: Let’s see if the Dems in Martha’s Vineyard feel the same way after a few thousand illegal immigrants arrive on their doorstep….”
— Ted Cruz (@Ted Cruz) 1663251669

Chatinover responded hours later, tweeting, "when refugees showed up on our shores, we provided them with food and shelter—not cages and family separations."

“Notice @tedcruz how when refugees showed up on our shores, we provided them with food and shelter—not cages and family separations.”
— Keith Chatinover (@Keith Chatinover) 1663254092

On Wednesday, the Democratic local official berated DeSantis for sending migrants to Martha's Vineyard "to prove a political point."

"The island can and will do everything we can to support them, including myself as an elected official. But the fact that you did this, without consulting us and allowing us to prepare for their arrival, is dangerous and disgusting," he said in a tweet thread calling out DeSantis.

"Islanders writ large support refugee resettlement, but we can’t help in that process if we are given no advance notice. Our governments weren’t at all prepared for this and proving a point by endangering lives is gross," Chatinover added.

However, Cruz repeatedly pointed out that while Democrats may be congratulating themselves for coming together to care for 50 people, and attacking Republicans for sending them without warning, the reality of border towns in the United States is that more than 4.2 million illegal immigrants have crossed into this country since President Joe Biden took office. Those towns are overwhelmed, and Republicans say the White House is contributing to the crisis by failing to secure the border.

“Now try 4.2 million.”

Liberals outraged at Politico because new owner reportedly praised Trump's record

Politico, the go-to political news website for D.C. insiders, is under fire from the left after the Washington Post reported that the company's new German owner wants to focus on "nonpartisan" journalism and once sent an email appearing to endorse former President Donald Trump for re-election in 2020.

Mathias Döpfner is a billionaire media mogul and the new owner of Politico after his publishing company, Axel Springer, bought the website and its affiliate sites in a $1 billion deal last year. In an interview with the Washington Post, Döpfner said he's concerned that American media has become too polarized and sees an opportunity for Politico to "prove that being nonpartisan is actually the more successful positioning."

But the Post questioned how Döpfner "hopes to define nonpartisan journalism," noting that his own political beliefs "have remained something of a mystery." In an apparent attempt to out Döpfner as a secret Trump supporter, the paper reported an email Döpfner sent to his closest executives in 2020 that has now provoked controversy on social media.

In the email, Döpfner reportedly asked his associates, "Do we all want to get together for an hour in the morning on November 3 and pray that Donald Trump will again become President of the United States of America?”

According to the Washington Post, Döpfner argued that Trump's policies on five key issues personally important to the CEO were correct — namely that Trump defended "free democracies" against Russia and China; pushed NATO allies to pay their obligated dues; pursued "tax reforms"; achieved peace deals in the Middle East; and challenged big tech monopolies. A sixth issue where Döpfner reportedly thought Trump fell short was tackling climate change.

“No American administration in the last 50 years has done more,” Döpfner reportedly wrote.

Confronted about the email, Döpfner denied that he had ever written any such praise for Trump.

“That’s intrinsically false,” he told the Post. “That doesn’t exist. It has never been sent and has never been even imagined.”

However, when shown a printed copy of the message, Döpfner conceded that he may have sent it as "as an ironic, provocative statement in the circle of people that hate Donald Trump."

The Post also reported that Döpfner has privately criticized cancel culture and "gripes about identity politics" in conversations with friends. Speaking for himself, Döpfner identified as a "non-Jewish Zionist" with "small-L liberal" tendencies, who is deeply concerned with racism and homophobia.

Progressives on Twitter put Politico on blast over these revelations, accusing Döpfner of lying about his beliefs.

"Dear Politico CEO: If you are going to be a Trump supporter, at least have the courage to admit it," Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) tweeted. "Lying is never a good look for a media organization’s CEO. You didn’t just remain silent or say you didn’t remember. You went above and beyond and embellished your lie. Pathetic."

“Dear Politico CEO: If you are going to be a Trump supporter, at least have the courage to admit it.

Lying is never a good look for a media organization’s CEO. — Ted Lieu (@Ted Lieu) 1662471154

Matthew Sheffield, a journalist for the Young Turks, an online progressive news show, referred to Döpfner as "the new, far-right owner of Politico."

"How soon until his dishonesty and extreme views filter into Politico's journalism?" Sheffield asked.

“Mathias Döpfner, the new, far-right owner of Politico urged his employees to pray for Donald Trump's reelection and then lied about it when confronted by a journalist.

How soon until his dishonesty and extreme views filter into Politico's journalism? https://t.co/awvdQEBOeo”

"Congrats @politico. You not only worked for a 'neutral' owner who prays for Trump but when confronted with the email confirming it says 'That doesn’t exist. It has never been sent and has never been even imagined' then says...oh yeah maybe that's me," progressive pundit Keith Olbermann jeered.

"So Politico is owned by a lying Trump supporter in Germany? How should/can readers factor that in to what they read in Politico?" MSNBC host Lawrence O'Donnell asked.

— Lawrence O'Donnell (@Lawrence O'Donnell) 1662465733

The far-left freakout over Politico's new ownership comes days after liberals fumed at two CNN journalists who offered mild criticisms of President Joe Biden's prime-time speech last week. CNN chief national affairs correspondent Jeff Zeleny and CNN "New Day" anchor Briana Keilar were critical of the presence of Marines behind Biden while he gave a political speech. Fox News reported that reactions ranged from accusations that CNN was trying to appeal to Trump supporters to blistering condemnations of "both sideism nonsense," as one critic said.

Keith Olbermann attacks Matt Walsh, but does not answer when Walsh asks if he can provide a definition for the word 'woman'

Leftist Keith Olbermann attacked conservative commentator Matt Walsh on Wednesday, suggesting that Walsh should leave the U.S. — Olbermann also apparently drew a parallel between Walsh and the Taliban.

Olbermann's attack came in response to Walsh saying that there is no way to share a nation with individuals who advocate for radical leftist gender ideology and refuse to decry infanticide.

"These hearings on abortion are instructive. The liberal witnesses have refused to condemn infanticide, refused to define the word 'woman,' and claimed that men can get pregnant. We cannot share a country with these people. There can be no unity. They are lunatics and monsters," Walsh tweeted. "I don't respect them. I have nothing in common with them. I detest everything they believe and stand for. They feel the same about me. We simply cannot go on this way," he added.

"Easy fix: get your useless ass out of the United States of America. We didn't miss the confederacy. We won't miss you and the other American Taliban, @MattWalshBlog," Olbermann tweeted.

“Easy fix: get your useless ass out of the United States of America. We didn't miss the confederacy. We won't miss you and the other American Taliban, @MattWalshBlog”
— Keith Olbermann (@Keith Olbermann) 1657746385

"I'd love to continue this conversation, Keith, but first I have to know if you're able to define the word 'woman.' Please advise," Walsh responded.

As of Thursday evening, Olbermann has not responded to Walsh.

“I'd love to continue this conversation, Keith, but first I have to know if you're able to define the word "woman." Please advise.”
— Matt Walsh (@Matt Walsh) 1657747215

Walsh has a "What Is a Woman?" documentary, as well as a book. The seemingly simple question, which anyone with a modicum of common sense should be able to answer, helps to highlight the absurdity of left-wing gender ideology.

Sarah Lopez, a witness at a House Oversight Committee hearing on Wednesday, said that getting an abortion was "the best decision" of her life and "an act of self-love."

When Republican Rep. Ralph Norman of South Carolina asked if she supported infanticide, the murder of a child after birth, she said that she did not agree with the question's basis, but that she does "believe that abortion is health care."

During a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Tuesday, University of California, Berkeley School of Law professor Khiara M. Bridges spoke of individuals who have a "capacity for pregnancy." Republican Sen. Josh Hawley of Missouri noted her use of the terminology and asked if it referred to women.

"Many women, cis women, have the capacity for pregnancy," but others do not, she said. She then said that "trans men" and "non-binary people" are also able to have a pregnancy.

As the exchange with Hawley continued, Bridges eventually described the lawmaker's "line of questioning" as "transphobic."

Lauren Boebert reported to FBI for joking about Biden's teleprompter issues

Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert (R) was reported to the FBI on Sunday after she made a joke about President Joe Biden's most recent teleprompter snafu.

The Republican lawmaker on Sunday tweeted, "We need to terminate this Presidency." She followed her statement with, "End quote. Repeat the line."

“We need to terminate this Presidency.

End quote. Repeat the line.”
— Lauren Boebert (@Lauren Boebert) 1657460771

It was a direct reference to Biden's speech on abortion Friday, during which he repeatedly read aloud his teleprompter cues and made other misstatements. The president announced that he had signed an executive order directing various federal agencies to protect abortion access after the Supreme Court ruled states may regulate abortion, overturning its Roe v. Wade decision.

During his speech, Biden recounted the story of a 10-year-old who purportedly was raped and had to travel from Ohio to Indiana to obtain an abortion because her home state had enacted an abortion ban.

“Ten years old and she was forced to travel out of the state to Indiana to seek to terminate the presidency and maybe save her life,” Biden said Friday, mistakenly substituting the work "presidency" for "pregnancy."

Biden made several other errors for which he was mocked on social media. After reading a quote from the majority opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, for example, Biden said "repeat the line." It was an instruction to repeat the quote, not a statement he was supposed to make in his address.

Several times during Biden's speech, he also said "end of quote" after reciting a quote. "End of quote" is a normal teleprompter cue to let the speaker know that the quote he or she is citing is over.

Boebert's tweet declaring that the presidency must be "terminated" was clearly making fun of Biden's speech. But humorless Twitter users mass-reported the tweet to the FBI, as well as the Department of Homeland Security and the Justice Department, claiming she was inciting violence against the president.

Progressive pundit Keith Olbermann said Boebert's "gun-humping fetishism crossed the line from mind-numbingly MAGA-ism to something @fbi @TheJusticeDept and @SecretService needs to be visiting her about, today." His tweet was part of a thread about the "worst persons in the world."

Writer Tara Dublin accused Boebert of making "a threat against the legitimately elected President of the United States."

"Lock her up, @FBI. End quote. Repeat the line with the rest of the Sedition Caucus," Dublin tweeted.

“Well, that sure sounds like a threat against the legitimately elected President of the United States, Squeaky

Lock her up, @FBI. End quote. Repeat the line with the rest of the Sedition Caucus #LouderThanMAGA”

Another verified user asked the FBI if Boebert's tweet qualified as a "terroristic threat."

Dozens of other unverified accounts called on federal law enforcement to investigate Boebert's tweet, with hysteric references to the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol and names like "white supremacist terrorist" thrown at Boebert. All because of a joke.

But these complaints raise the question, if "terminate this presidency" is a violent threat, what is "terminate this pregnancy"?

Amid leftist uproar over gun ruling, Democratic strategist describes Supreme Court justices as 'mass shooters'

Self-described Democratic strategist and consultant Adam Parkhomenko issued a tweet on Thursday in which he apparently described some members of U.S. Supreme Court as "mass shooters."

"Sometimes mass shooters wear robes and don’t have a gun," Parkhomenko tweeted after the release of a gun-related Supreme Court opinion.

"Because the State of New York issues public-carry licenses only when an applicant demonstrates a special need for self-defense, we conclude that the State's licensing regime violates the Constitution," Justice Clarence Thomas wrote in the opinion.

The nine-member high court was divided 6-3 on the decision, and Parkhomenko was presumably targeting his remarks towards to the six justices in the majority: John Roberts, Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett. Justices Stephen Breyer, Elena Kagan, and Sonia Sotomayor, who are widely regarded as the court's liberal contingent, dissented.

"I see we've made the leap to accusing Supreme Court Justices as murderers," someone tweeted in response to Parkhomenko's post.

"As a general rule, I don’t ever say that people who haven't ever mass shot are mass shooters," someone else tweeted.

"You should be ashamed of yourself for saying something like this. Did you actually read the whole opinion. Narrow in scope. Be an adult and do your research. #DemsAreChildren," another tweet read.

Many on the left have expressed their disapproval regarding the Supreme Court's ruling.

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, a Democrat, called the decision both "reckless" and "reprehensible."

President Joe Biden said in a statement that he is "deeply disappointed by the" decision. "This ruling contradicts both common sense and the Constitution, and should deeply trouble us all," he declared.

"It has become necessary to dissolve the Supreme Court of the United States. The first step is for a state the 'court' has now forced guns upon, to ignore this ruling. Great. You're a court? Why and how do think you can enforce your rulings? #IgnoreTheCourt," Keith Olbermann tweeted. "Also, f[***] Alito, Thomas, Roberts, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh and the paralegal Coney Barrett," he wrote in another post.
