BLM counterprotester who attacked Trump supporter at Million MAGA March reportedly ID'd as journalism student

A Black Lives Matter protester who was filmed punching a Trump supporter in the head at last weekend's Million MAGA March in Washington, D.C., has reportedly been identified as a journalism student.

Violence erupted in the nation's capital Saturday when Black Lives Matter and Antifa groups clashed with Trump supporters marching to protest the disputed results of the 2020 presidential election. Graphic videos of multiple attacks in D.C. were posted on social media, including video of a protester running up and punching a Trump supporter from behind at Black Lives Matter Plaza.

The Post Millennial reported that the assailant in the video is Brittany S. McAlister, 29, of Washington, D.C. McAlister is a student studying journalism at Howard University and also works as a freelance journalist, according to the Post Millennial.

In another incident captured on video, McAlister allegedly kicked an unconscious man after he had reportedly been been sucker-punched by Kenneth Wayne Deberry, 39, who was arrested and charged by police.

According to a news release from the Metropolitan Police Department, McAlister has not been arrested and is not yet charged with any crime, though police say they are looking for the suspect in the film.

D.C. police are asking for help identifying suspects in violent crimes captured on video Saturday.

The Post Millennial reported screenshots of a tweet from the far-left group Refuse Fascism that has since been deleted profiling McAlister, who gave a speech at Black Lives Matter Plaza. McAlister's social media accounts have been deactivated.

Thousands of Trump supporters had gathered in D.C. for a "Stop the Steal" rally at Freedom Plaza to show support for President Donald Trump as his campaign continues to challenge the results of the election. During the day protests were peaceful. But as night fell, counterprotesters committed acts of violence against Trump supporters. People were attacked from behind, an elderly man was shoved to the ground, a couple was harassed, and others were brutally beaten, with horrifying video of the attacks circulating on social media.

Police arrested at least 21 people in D.C. following these violent incidents.

President Trump weighed in on the violence on Twitter, criticizing D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser for "not doing her job."

In a statement given to Fox News, Howard University strongly condemned "all forms of violence and abhorrent behavior."

"The University has stringent policies and procedures in place to investigate potential wrongdoing and will take the appropriate action against any student found to be in violation of our Code of Conduct," the university said.

Thousands of Trump supporters gathered in Washington, D.C., on Saturday for the Million MAGA March. The first hours of the rally for President Donald Trump was a peaceful protest. Then counterprotesters entered the area by mid-afternoon. Right before nightfall, there were numerous attacks on Trump supporters, including an assault of a multiracial family and one man was knocked out. The violence against Trump supporters only grew as the massive crowds from the "Stop the Steal" rally diminished and the sun set.

A swarm of counterprotesters surrounded and harassed an elderly couple holding a Trump flag in Washington, D.C. Some in the group were holding signs for Refuse Fascism, a self-described "national movement organizing to drive out the Trump/Pence regime."

Several Trump supporters brutally assaulted at Million MAGA March, man knocked unconscious

For days, anarchist and anti-fascist groups planned counterprotests to "overwhelm" Trump supporters at the Million MAGA March on Saturday. A group of counterprotesters were carrying signs that said, "Punch MAGA in the face." Some counterprotesters became violent, and footage from the Million MAGA March shows several Trump supporters being attacked. One Trump supporter was brutally knocked out.

The mood was mostly festive at the Million MAGA March for the first few hours with exuberant chants of "U-S-A!," Stop the steal," and "Trump 2020!"

BLM and anti-fascist supporters attack multiracial family at Million MAGA March

An ugly scene developed at the Million MAGA March on Saturday when a Black Lives Matter supporter and a man who was marching with an anti-fascist group harassed a multiracial family that was out showing their support for President Donald Trump.

Thousands of Trump supporters converged on Washington, D.C., on Saturday to rally around Trump. However, tensions flared in the afternoon after hordes of counterprotesters assembled.

One of the counterprotest groups at the Trump rally was Refuse Fascism, a self-described "national movement organizing to drive out the Trump/Pence regime." The anti-fascist group had announced days earlier that they were holding a counterprotest to "overwhelm" Trump supporters.

"We are gathering non-violently," Lucha Bright of Refuse Fascism told WUSA-TV. "We are not intending to engage them. We want to overwhelm them with our numbers. If they attack us, that is not out of the realm of possibilities of what they do. But we are hoping, especially if we gather in large numbers, that we will overwhelm them with our strength."

Video from Saturday shows a group dressed in all black holding bright orange "Refuse Fascism" signs pursue a multiracial family, which included three young children. Several people in the mob get in the face of the black mother who is wearing a Trump jacket and pushing a stroller with an infant at Black Lives Matter Plaza.

A woman wearing a "Black Lives Matter" shirt gets in the face of the mother, but is separated by a man, presumably the father. Then the BLM supporter gets in the face of the father, and it sounds as if she screams at him, "You're an ugly b****!" The mother yells, "Get away!" One of the daughters is seen crying.

The father prods the woman with his flag pole to keep the woman at a distance. The woman then charges at the father to try to take away his Gadsden flag, he waves her off with his hand. Then a man dressed in all black that was walking with the anti-fascist group advances at the father and attacks him.

The father retaliates by hitting the man with the flagpole. The woman runs at the father and is also struck with the flagpole. The father gets shoved to the pavement, and he falls on top of the small child, who screams in pain. Police immediately separate the two sides.

Video taken by photojournalist Jorge Ventura shows the woman and the man had bruises on their heads.

Anarchist and anti-fascist groups planning to 'overwhelm' 'Million MAGA March' in DC — Trump hints at attending

Trump supporters will gather Saturday in Washington, D.C., for the "Million MAGA March" and a "Stop the Steal" rally. Anarchist and anti-fascist groups have responded by planning counterprotests.

Pro-Trump groups from around the country will converge on the nation's capital this weekend to rally around President Donald Trump. The Trump supporters will assemble at noon Saturday at Freedom Plaza, near the White House and along the National Mall.

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said on Thursday she expects the Million MAGA March to be "quite large."

Trump supporters had already gathered in D.C. on Friday afternoon, 24 hours before the Million MAGA March.

On Friday afternoon, President Trump hinted that he may make an appearance at the event.

"Heartwarming to see all of the tremendous support out there, especially the organic Rallies that are springing up all over the Country, including a big one on Saturday in D.C. I may even try to stop by and say hello," Trump tweeted. "This Election was Rigged, from Dominion all the way up & down!"

Several counterprotests have been scheduled by left-wing groups.

Refuse Fascism, a self-described "national movement organizing to drive out the Trump/Pence regime," has scheduled its counterprotest to take place 30 minutes before the Trump rally at Freedom Plaza in an effort to "overwhelm" Trump supporters.

Andy Zee, a member of the Refuse Fascism Editorial Board, said, "We must not allow the Trump/Pence regime to illegitimately overturn this election. That is why it is so urgent that people come out on Saturday to say no to Trump still trying to steal the election."

"Trump and his minions LOST! Now they are planning a One Million MAGA March this Saturday in Washington D.C. We must STAND on our victory and not allow them to dominate the public discourse or the public square," the description of the counterprotest reads. "They are trying to steal the elections by sewing confusing about the election results & to intimidate people."

At the time of publication, only 19 people have signed up on the website to attend the event.

They/Them Collective, a self-described "anarchist abolitionist" group, has planned a "F*** MAGA" protest at noon Saturday at the Supreme Court, according to DCist. The invitation for the protest reads, "Last time white liberals told us to ignore the fash back in 2016 he became president for 3 years, 297 days, 6 hours, 49 minutes, 48 seconds." The group encourages participants to "wear black."

All Out D.C., a "collective of D.C. antifascist activists" aiming to "burn down the American plantation," planned a noon protest Saturday to "defend D.C. from white nationalism and secure a trump-free future." The group advocates attendees "wear black to show solidarity."

The right-wing Proud Boys group, self-described "western chauvinists," will also be at the Million MAGA March. Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio told CBS News, "We're known for fighting back. I'm not going to hide that, I'm not going to apologize for it."

"There's 70 million pissed off Americans and not one building has been burned down. I think if the president wouldn't won that night, there would have been chaos," Tarrio said of Election Day results.

District of Columbia Mayor Muriel Bowser (D) said police would be out in numbers to ensure peaceful First Amendment demonstrations.

"We continue to follow those activities and be prepared for those activities," Bowser told reporters on Tuesday. "Our police chief will have a similar posture this weekend as he did last week. And we will be there to support peaceful exercise of First Amendment demonstrations.

"The gun laws here are different than in other places. People who have a permit to carry a weapon can carry a weapon," she added. "We call it a concealed carry permit."

Pro-Trump groups plan weekend #StopTheSteal MAGA march in D.C.

An assortment of pro-Trump groups will rally Saturday in Washington, D.C., to protest perceived election fraud and support President Donald Trump, who has not yet conceded the presidential election to former Vice President Joe Biden.

Various groups, including the Million MAGA March, Women for Trump, and Stop the Steal DC have invited all Trump supporters to participate in an organized protest at noon Saturday at Freedom Plaza, near the White House and along the National Mall, multiple outlets reported.

According to WDVM-TV, counterprotests are planned at Black Lives Matter Plaza. The Metropolitan Police Department released plans for no parking zones in and around the downtown area to accommodate the protests.

"Our Police Chief will have a similar posture this weekend as he did last week, and we will be there to support peaceful exercise of First Amendment demonstrations," D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser said at a news conference.

D.C. police reportedly advised those who plan to attend the protests that the capital's notoriously strict gun laws will be enforced.

WTOP national security correspondent J.J. Green reported that while the planned protests are gaining attention and interaction on social media, some followers are skeptical of the wisdom of traveling to Washington.

"There are not a lot of people biting on this; there are a lot of people following them on social media. But there are a lot of people that are doubtful about the wisdom of coming here to do this," Green said.

The protests are already being characterized as "white nationalist" by mainstream media outlets. Politico reported that "Oath Keepers, Three Percenters, Infowars fanatics, Groypers, Proud Boys, white nationalists, neo-Nazis and the people who would simply call themselves die-hard MAGA" plan to attend.

WTOP's report noted that federal, state, and local law enforcement organizations are monitoring the groups planning to attend the protest. Green reported that it is "not likely" that a repeat of the 2017 clash between white nationalists and counterprotesters in Charlottesville, Virginia, will happen again.

"In part because authorities here are so well-prepared and have that knowledge under their belt. And … you can't carry guns in D.C. … I'm pretty sure that any organizers are making it very clear to people who come to D.C., 'Do not bring a gun.' Other weapons maybe, but it's not likely that this is going to turn into that," Green said.

The Twitter account for Million Mega March posted a public prayer asking God to let the march happen peacefully, "without conflict from those who wish to agitate and cause violence."
