Are Democrats DONE with Joe Biden? | Glenn Beck and Piers Morgan debate

In the wake of his disastrous debate against Donald Trump, faith in Joe Biden has waned dramatically, as the nation had a front-row seat to witness the president’s undeniable cognitive decline.

Major Democratic donors have pulled funds, liberal politicians have renounced support, and even the media has begun to denounce a second term for President Biden.

Is it safe to say Democrats have officially lost hope in Joe?

Glenn Beck and Piers Morgan met to discuss this very question.

Are Democrats DONE with Biden? | Glenn Beck & Piers Morgan Debatewww.youtube.com

Currently, the nation is holding its breath waiting for the announcement that Biden has dropped out of the race. Many say it’s only a matter of time before he’s replaced.

But with whom? And what happens to all the funds the Biden campaign has raised?

“If Joe Biden does decide, as the New York Times is intimating, to step aside … then all the money that he's raised,” which amounts to “hundreds of millions of dollars, can only go to Kamala Harris; it can't go to any other candidate,” says Piers.

“Does [Biden’s replacement] have to be Kamala simply because of where the money is?” he asks Glenn.

“The money isn't the only thing,” says Glenn. “Kamala Harris was brought onto the ticket in this madness of equity.”

According to “the progressive side, you cannot replace her. She's a black woman – the first black woman vice president. Now you have the opportunity, you're going to replace her with a white man?” he asks, referencing the suspicion that California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) might be chosen as Biden’s replacement.

“The only person they could replace her with that could win is Michelle Obama.”

However, the former first lady has made it clear she has no interest in running, but Glenn thinks if Barack presses her, she might concede, run, and actually win.

Besides Biden’s candidacy, there’s another idea being thrown around: invoking the 25th Amendment, which would temporarily pass presidential powers to Kamala Harris.

There’s only one problem – the decision must be made by “the Cabinet and the vice president,” and so far, both have refused to even acknowledge what the country sees in Biden.

“I saw yesterday the press secretary [Karine Jean-Pierre] insisting he's not got any form of dementia. I thought that was a blatant lie,” says Piers.

To hear the rest of the conversation, including Glenn's and Piers’ thoughts on the global unrest that seems to be growing ever stronger, watch the clip above.

House Democrats block Republican effort to crack down on fentanyl traffickers and save lives

On Wednesday, 220 House Democrats blocked a bill that would have put fentanyl-related substances, including precursors, in Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act. Doing so would have enabled the government to crack down on those driving the opioid crisis and profiting off the deaths of tens of thousands of Americans. The bill expires on September 31.

Fentanyl is the leading killer of adults ages 18-45. Last year, opioids killed an estimated 80,816 Americans. 10% of the significant drop in U.S. life expectancy, now at its lowest point in over two decades, is attributable to such overdoses.

China is reportedly the principal source of the fentanyl flooding America's illicit drug market. Mexican cartels, partnered with the Chinese and using Chinese-sourced materials, manufacture and then traffic much of the killer drug over the U.S. border.

The "Halt All Lethal Trafficking of Fentanyl Act" (H.R. 6184), sponsored by Rep. Morgan Griffith (R-Va.) and introduced with Rep. Bob Latta (R-Ohio) on December 8, 2021, had 88 cosponsors, all of whom were Republicans.

Griffith stated earlier this week that the bill would "strengthen law enforcement's ability to prosecute fentanyl traffickers and act as a deterrent."

He previously indicated that it will also help "curb overdose deaths."

“Dems have again blocked my bill, the HALT Fentanyl Act, which would permanently schedule fentanyl analogs as Schedule I substances and remove barriers to research.

The HALT Fentanyl Act would fight the drug overdose crisis that took more than 107,000 lives in the U.S. last year.”
— Morgan Griffith (@Morgan Griffith) 1664406963

In addition to making it easier to target traffickers of what some, including Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti, have called a "weapon of mass destruction," the bill would have removed barriers to research, said to be necessary for "as many as 4,800 analogues" to fentanyl. Of the thousands of analogues, "experts at the NIH, FDA and other agencies have studied roughly 30."

"If this law expires and doesn't become permanent," said Griffith, "those 4,800 analogues are arguably legal ... and we have to pass a law on each one of them. The HALT Fentanyl act makes it so we don't have to do that."

Latta stressed the urgency of the bill's passage and the need for Congress to take action, saying that the "havoc these substances wreak on our communities is devastating."

Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.), who introduced companion legislation in the U.S. Senate with Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.), emphasized that to "ensure law enforcement has the tools to combat this trend, we cannot let this Schedule 1 classification lapse."

“FLOOR ALERT: Fentanyl is pouring across Biden's open border & claiming American lives at rates never before seen. We need to secure the border & fully prosecute traffickers, but @HouseDemocrats blocked @HouseGOP requests to consider a bill to keep fentanyl a controlled substance.”
— House Rules Republicans (@House Rules Republicans) 1664407740

The Democrats appear keen for just that to happen. In fact, this is not the first time that Democrats have blocked the bill. They blocked it on February 2 and on April 1.

It was suggested in a statement from Republicans on the Energy and Commerce Committee that "Democrats in the House are blocking action on this bill ... [b]ecause they want to weaken criminal penalties on traffickers who move fentanyl-related substances."

“There is a fentanyl crisis in America.

It’s plaguing our communities. It's poisoning our kids. It’s devastating families.

It’s time for Congress to take permanent action. ⏳”
— Energy & Commerce GOP (@Energy & Commerce GOP) 1643822799

Despite Democrats' refusal to tackle the opioid crisis with this and other proposed legislative remedies, some members have nevertheless recognized the cost of doing nothing.

Rep. David Trone (D-Md.), who sits on the Congressional Join Economic Committee, compared the deaths resultant of the opioid epidemic to "one 737 (jet) every day going down, no survivors. It's a mind-boggling number of deaths."

New analysis released by the JEC on September 28 indicated that the opioid epidemic cost the U.S. a record of nearly $1.5 trillion in 2020. That cost is expected to rise.

The Republican Study Committee recently highlighted several other legislative endeavors to combat the scourge of fentanyl trafficking, addiction, and overdoses, including:

 • Arizona Republican Rep. Paul Gosar's bill that would require life imprisonment or the death penalty for dealing fentanyl that results in death;
 • Tennessee Republican Rep. Tim Burchett's bill that would require a life sentence for anyone convicted of trafficking fentanyl; and
 • the late Indiana Republican Rep. Jackie Warlorski's bill allowing individuals and state attorneys general to sue foreign countries for death or injury caused by their inability to combat illegal fentanyl trafficking in to the U.S..

Morgan J. Freeman says he would not have any issues 'with a government that confiscates guns,' and that 'Being 'anti-racist' starts by admitting 'whiteness' is a disease'

Morgan J. Freeman declared in a tweet on Monday that "Being 'anti-racist' starts by admitting 'whiteness' is a disease" — Freeman, an individual who describes himself as a "TV Producer, Filmmaker, Human Rights & Racial Justice Advocate," should not be confused with the famous actor who has the same name.

In response to someone who pointed out that his tweet comes across as quite racist, Freeman fired back, "Reverse racism is a myth -- it does not exist." He continued in another tweet:

"Whiteness" is a dominant cultural space with enormous political significance, with the purpose to keep others on the margin.
— Morgan J. Freeman (@Morgan J. Freeman) 1652739808

Someone else tweeted, "honest question: what are the symptoms of whiteness?"

"Here’s one," Freeman replied, reposting Rep. Thomas Massie's (R-Ky.) family Christmas photo that featured the congressman and his family holding firearms.

Here’s one.pic.twitter.com/UKErplz7Cv
— Morgan J. Freeman (@Morgan J. Freeman) 1652751013

Freeman has also said that he would not have an issue with the government seizing people's firearms.

"I’d have no problem with a government that confiscates guns, and incarcerates all violators," he tweeted on Sunday. One minute later, he tweeted, "Take their guns. All of them."

"The United States was founded on racist ideas and is doomed unless it admits the truth and atones," he also tweeted on Sunday.

Earlier this month, on May 7, Freeman tweeted, "F the Founding Fathers."

An 18-year-old white gunman perpetrated a deadly attack at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York, on Saturday, killing 10 black people and wounding three other individuals, including two white people and one black person. The shooter has been arraigned on a murder charge but pleaded not guilty.

GOP Rep. Liz Cheney declared on Monday that House Republican leadership has enabled racism.

"The House GOP leadership has enabled white nationalism, white supremacy, and anti-semitism. History has taught us that what begins with words ends in far worse. @GOP leaders must renounce and reject these views and those who hold them."

Last year, Cheney was ousted from her post as House Republican conference chair.

Kamala Harris mercilessly mocked after tweeting that US is 'moving again' due to infrastructure package when freezing drivers were stranded on I-95 near DC

Vice President Kamala Harris was the recipient of a big dose of mockery after tweeting Tuesday that America is "moving again" due to the new, Democrat-backed $1.2 trillion infrastructure spending package.

Because of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, America is moving again. That's what infrastructure is all about: getting people moving.
— Vice President Kamala Harris (@Vice President Kamala Harris) 1641316560

"Because of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, America is moving again," Harris wrote in her ill-timed tweet. "That's what infrastructure is all about: getting people moving."

See, the problem was that the Harris tweet hailing the notion that "America is moving again" was posted at the same time hundreds of freezing motorists were still stranded on Interstate 95 in Virginia.

Traffic between Ruther Glen in Caroline County and Dumfries in Prince William County — not too far from Washington, D.C., where Harris calls home — came to standstill Monday and stayed that way overnight amid freezing temperatures and vehicles running out of gas.

How did folks react to Harris' tweet?

As you might imagine, quite a few commenters pointed out to the vice president that the stranded drivers in her figurative back yard likely weren't singing the praises of the infrastructure spending package or chanting "America is moving again!"

To wit:

Correct me if I’m wrong here, but the below video alone tells me that people aren’t “moving” on a very critical piece of actual infrastructure which is located not far from our nation’s capital where you are located in a warm and toasty place at this hourhttps://twitter.com/stevechenevey/status/1478338388818284544?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1478338388818284544%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fredstate.com%2Fsister-toldjah%2F2022%2F01%2F04%2Fsecond-look-at-pete-buttigieg-after-insane-tone-deaf-kamala-harris-tweet-in-midst-of-i-95-crisis-n501679 …
— COVID19 Paranoia and Cowardice (@COVID19 Paranoia and Cowardice) 1641333813

And the hits just kept on coming:

 • "Why, why oh why would anyone think this tweet is a good idea at the same time I-95 is trending for a 12 hour+ 30-50 mile standstill?" one commenter wrote. "Are you guys *trying* to write GOP midterm attack ads for them?"
 • "Hey Kamala, Heads up: Someone on your social media comms team hates you," another user said. "Great timing."
 • "Of all the days to say this, today is the funniest," another user declared.
 • "You can’t seem to get your footing," another commenter said. "I’m trying to be supportive but when a major highway shuts down for over 20 hours with no solution, this is not the day for this tweet

Other commenters pointed out that Democratic U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine was among the stranded parties:

Unless you’re Tim Kainepic.twitter.com/DFUYcsFnc3
— Morgan Wilde (@Morgan Wilde) 1641321999

"One of your senators literally isn’t moving, he’s been stuck for 24 hours on the highway with thousands of other people because our infrastructure sucks butt," another user said in regard to Kaine.

Ready for another left-wing faux pas?

Others — presumably those left of center politically — enjoyed pointing out that the not-ready-for-freezing-weather roadways actually are the fault of Glenn Youngkin, a Republican who was elected Virginia governor in November:

Except in Virginia. Thanks to Youngkin

Fair point — save for the fact that Youngkin hasn't yet taken office. He'll be inaugurated Jan. 15.

New York will not force counties to comply with sweeping mask mandate, says governor

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) on Monday said that the state government will not force counties to comply with the sweeping new mask mandate that went into effect today.

"We have left this to the counties to enforce. We hope that counties will enforce it," Hochul told reporters.

"We expect that they will, we hope that they will, it's in the best interest of public health. But it also comes down to individual businesses doing the right thing as well. We're asking businesses to protect their customers and to protect their employees," she added.

“We have left it to the counties to enforce, so counties can choose not to enforce. But we hope counties are enforcing,” @GovKathyHochul says about the mask mandate
— Morgan Mckay (@Morgan Mckay) 1639415714

Beginning on Dec. 13 and lasting through at least Jan. 15, masks are required in all public indoor places in New York for everyone over the age of 2 unless full vaccination is mandated in those places. That means stores, restaurants, offices, residential building lobbies, and other indoor venues must either require people to be fully vaccinated to enter or force them to wear masks.

For now, individuals are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after the second shot of the two-dose Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccines or the first shot of the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. However, the definition of fully vaccinated will soon change to include booster shots, according to White House chief medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci.

The mask mandate was announced by Hochul last week in response to rising COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations in the state. State officials will re-examine coronavirus conditions on Jan. 15 to determine whether to extend or end the mandate.

Any businesses that violate any provision of the mandate are subject to civil and criminal penalties, including a maximum fine of $1,000 for each violation. Local health departments are being asked to enforce these requirements.

But some Republican county executives say they will not enforce the mandate. Rockland County Executive Ed Day (R) said Friday that the governor's office did not provide detailed information about the new masking requirements.

"I told the Governor’s staff that we cannot and will not enforce this requirement as it currently stands. How do you enforce something that’s based on a press release that does not contain adequate information and explanation?" Day said.

"I cannot and will not in good conscience redirect our Health Department to change their focus from the vaccination effort which entailed six clinics over the last two weeks that administered 141 vaccine doses and 1,244 booster doses. Especially with the 5–11-year-old cohort needing vaccinations and the 16–17-year-old cohort having just been approved to receive boosters," Day added. "That would be utterly reckless."

County officials in at least four other counties will not enforce the mandate either, including Livingston, Madison, Niagara, and Rensselaer counties.

“Governor Hochul derided the use of these types of measures just days ago,” David LeFeber, chairman of the Livingston County Board of Supervisors, said in a statement. “Now, we are back to Cuomo-era approaches. That is an unfortunate, and swift, switch of position by the Governor."

Nassau County Executive-elect Bruce Blakeman called the mandate a "shotgun approach."

"Over 97% of Nassau County adults have been vaccinated with at least their first dose and our outstanding health care facilities are not even close to capacity. While we continue to monitor this health care concern it is clear that Nassau County is not in crisis and State government should not paint us with the same broad brush as the rest of the State," Blakeman said. "I'm hopeful that the State will allow local determination rather than a shotgun approach."

Hochul defended the mandate as a "short-term, minor effort" to combat a nationwide surge in COVID-19 cases, compared to the strict lockdowns that prevented New Yorkers from leaving their homes last year.

"I will never let that happen to this state, I will continue to encourage people to get vaccinated and get that booster shot and that is truly the best path forward," she said.

"This is a short-term measure to protect us during a change in circumstances, which is that the infections are going up. Hospitalizations are going up. ICU patients are going up. Bed capacity is going down. And the vaccinations, while they are good, they are not where they could be in terms of everyone from age 5-years-old and up and I want people to get boosters."

New York State has seen a sharp increase in COVID-19 cases since Thanksgiving, according to the New York Times. The daily case average on Sunday was 9,638 , a 66% increase over the last 14 days.

Hochul said that if the statewide infection rate were as low as it was during the summer when masking requirements were lifted, there would be no need for the new mandate.

"If we were still at that point, if people had gotten vaccinated and gotten the boosters and we were still at one percent, we would not be having this conversation."

Liberals claimed CPAC stage was Nazi symbol. But company whose founder is 'very liberal' designed stage.

Liberals claimed over the weekend that the stage used at the Conservative Political Action Conference resembled symbols used by German Nazis.

But, as it turned out, the stage was designed by a Maryland-based company that designed stages for President Joe Biden and whose owner is a Biden supporter.

Who designed the stage?

According to Forward, the company responsible for designing the stage, Design Foundry, said the stage was designed to make best use of the conference space — not to propagate Nazi hate.
The company told Forward that it "had no idea that the design resembled any symbol, nor was there any intention to create something that did."
In fact, the contract between Design Foundry and the American Conservative Union — the umbrella organization that hosts CPAC — stipulates that Design Foundry alone is responsible for the stage design.
"The designs, renderings, drawings, specifications, materials and other documents used or created as part of the proposal are owned by Design Foundry," the contract states, according to Forward.
Meanwhile, Design Foundry has also worked with MSNBC, Google, Target, and Citibank, among other major companies.
Additionally, journalist Yashar Ali revealed that Design Foundry has worked with Biden and that the company's owner is "very liberal" and supports Biden.
I know Design Foundry because they handle design for many events in DC for companies like MSNBC & Target. They oversaw the design for the Biden Cancer Summit in 2018.The owner, Annie, is very liberal and was so excited for Biden's victory. Great work conspiracy theorists.

Also worth noting that many of her employees are liberal. So many of you decided to go after something without any reporting or knowledge about who was responsible for the design. And before you ding her for working for CPAC, you try having an events business during a pandemic.

What is the background?

Viral social media posts claimed over the weekend the stage used at CPAC was designed to resemble Nazi insignia.

"Has anyone else noticed the shape of the CPAC stage is the Odal Rune/SS insignia?" one post claimed.

Despite objections from CPAC organizers saying their stage was not, in fact, a Nazi symbol, Hyatt Hotels, which hosted CPAC at the Hyatt Regency in Orlando, Florida, appeared to lend legitimacy to the outcry by responding to the charges.

"We take the concern raised about the prospect of symbols of hate being included in the stage design at CPAC 2021 very seriously as all such symbols are abhorrent and unequivocally counter to our values as a company," Hyatt said.

What did CPAC say?

The organization said it would no longer work with Design Foundry.

"It's clear that the company we retained designed a stage that has become an unwelcome distraction. As a result, we will not be using that company's services going forward at future events," Ian Walters, director of communications for the ACU and CPAC, told Forward.

Hyatt Hotels says it is taking seriously criticism about CPAC's stage shape as social media claims 'abhorrent' shape is Nazi hate symbol

Hyatt Hotels says it is taking seriously social media claims that insist the CPAC 2021 stage was inspired by a rune that Nazis used on their uniforms, Insider reported.

The 2021 Conservative Political Action Conference took place at the Hyatt Regency in Orlando, Florida, over the weekend, and the hotel chain is facing calls for boycotts after the conservative political event.

What are the details?

In a late Sunday statement, Hyatt Hotels Corporation said that hate symbols are "abhorrent" after tweets comparing the CPAC presenter stage shape to a Nordic rune that appeared on Nazi uniforms during and around World War II.

Users said that the shape of the stage was far too close for comfort when compared to a Nordic "Odal rune," the SS insignia, and that the Anti-Defamation League previously classified the insignia as a hate symbol.

One now-viral social media post read, "Has anyone else noticed the shape of the CPAC stage is the Odal Rune/SS insignia?"

What did the hotel say?

In response to the outcry, the hotel corporation said, "We take the concern raised about the prospect of symbols of hate being included in the stage design at CPAC 2021 very seriously as all such symbols are abhorrent and unequivocally counter to our values as a company."

According to the Washington Post, "The hotel noted that it allowed the event to continue after organizers 'told us that any resemblance to a symbol of hate is unintentional.'"

The company also insisted that CPAC and the American Conservative Union were solely responsible for the stage design and all other related conference logistics.

Reuters also reported that the ceiling of the conference room featured a "lighting display in the same shape as the stage."

What else is there to know?

Matt Schlapp, who is chair of the American Conservative Union, hit back and said that the criticism was "outrageous and slanderous."

"We have a long standing commitment to the Jewish community," Schlapp said in the statement. "Cancel culture extremists must address antisemitism within their own ranks. CPAC proudly stands with our Jewish allies, including those speaking from this stage."

Social media users over the weekend also called for people to boycott the hotel chain for hosting the conservative event.

Following the demands to "cancel" Hyatt, the hotel group released the following statement:

We take pride in operating a highly inclusive environment and we believe that the facilitation of gatherings is a central element of what we do as a hospitality company. We believe in the right of individuals and organizations to peacefully express their views, independent of the degree to which the perspectives of those hosting meetings and events at our hotels align with ours. Army investigating tragic death of drill sergeant found fatally shot in bullet-riddled car in Texas on New Year's Day

A 30-year-old drill sergeant, who was also a mother of a 10-year-old, was on leave to celebrate the holidays when she was discovered fatally shot in Texas during the opening hours of 2021, according to investigators.

Drill Sgt. Jessica Mitchell, a 68E Dental Specialist, was assigned to the U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence on Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston.

Around 2 a.m. on New Year's Day, police officers responding to a call of a stranded vehicle in the fast lane on Interstate 10 in San Antonio. Mitchell was found in a white Dodge Challenger on I-10 that had multiple bullet holes on the driver's side door and window, San Antonio police said in a statement.

"Officers opened the vehicle door and checked for a pulse on the victim (who) appeared to have been struck multiple times," police said.

NYT listens to Twitter woke mob and changes article subhead in Jared Kushner, Ivanka Trump story

The New York Times updated the sub-headline of an article about President Trump's daughter Ivanka Trump and son-in-law Jared Kushner on Tuesday after liberals complained on Twitter.

What are the details?

The article, titled, "As Their D.C. Days Dwindle, Ivanka and Jared Look for a New Beginning," originally featured a sub-headline, stating, "The end of President Trump's time in office leaves his daughter Ivanka Trump and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, as well-to-do refugees — but they appear to have plans in New Jersey," Fox News reported.

Not long after the article was published, however, liberals on Twitter blasted the newspaper for its use of the phrase "well-to-do refugees" to describe the couple, arguing the term is offensive because of the Trump administration's policies regarding refugees.

Former NYT writer Kendra Pierre-Louis wrote, "I have a lots of thoughts about this story but using the word 'refugee' in the dek when they were part of an administration that all but criminalized being a refugee ... is a choice."

— Kendra "Gloom is My Beat" Pierre-Louis (@Kendra "Gloom is My Beat" Pierre-Louis)1606261099.0

PBS NewsHour foreign editor Morgan Till also criticized the move on Twitter, calling the word choice "obscene" and "absurdly callous."

Others on the platform soon followed in condemning the Times, many slamming the Trump administration's immigration policy in the process.

"This entire article is a white-washing of Kushner/Ivanka's culpability in this administration — already seeing their images 'softened,'" one user wrote.

Another added: "Sanitizing monsters is not an honorable profession."

What does it say now?

The Times appeared to take the hint Tuesday, updating the subhead by removing the phrase in question and replacing it with "looking for a new home."

The full subhead now reads: "The end of President Trump's time in office leaves his daughter Ivanka Trump and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, looking for a new home — but they appear to have plans in New Jersey."

There is no editor's note on the article documenting and explaining the change, as is standard journalistic practice.

Anything else?

The Times bowing to woke mob pressure is nothing new. In March, the newspaper changed a headline three times in order to shield Democrats from blame after they blocked passage of a coronavirus relief bill. The headline evolved from "Democrats Block Action on $1.8 Trillion Stimulus" to "Partisan Divide Threatens Deal on Rescue Bill."

Then in September, the newspaper stealth-edited a highly criticized claim about America's founding made in its controversial "1619 Project." More examples of similar behavior can be seen here and here.

Fox News, in its coverage of this latest headline alteration, noted that former New York Times opinion editor Bari Weiss suggested that Twitter had become the "ultimate editor" of the paper in her scathing resignation letter in July.

The Times did not immediately return a request for comment to Fox News.
