'Sad and pathetic person': Mark Hamill of 'Star Wars' gets humiliated after mocking Trump's ear bandage

Legendary "Star Wars" actor Mark Hamill took to social media to mock President Donald Trump's ear bandage at the Republican National Convention.

The bandage was of course covering a graze wound from a bullet from an attempted assassination of the president by a rifleman on a rooftop days earlier.

Hamill posted an up-close photo of Trump as he was about to enter the main room of the convention, showing the former president with the bandage.

'It's so depressing how lame Luke Skywalker is in real life.'

"1st APPEARANCE of ludicrously oversized ear bandage, apparently not needed prior to tonight," Hamill wrote on his X account.

The backlash against the actor was swift and forceful, with readers from across the spectrum reacting to his insult.

"You're a sad and pathetic person," said the owner of a gaming website.

"You ever got shot, Mark?" asked comedian Tim Young.

"It's so depressing how lame Luke Skywalker is in real life," said outlet Not the Bee.

Another influencer told Hamill that his "soul needs a bandage."

Hamill was a recent guest at the White House and appeared alongside press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre in the press room. Hamill told reporters that he called Biden "Mr. President," but Biden said Hamill could call him Joe. Hamill then said he asked if he could call the president "Joebi-Wan Kenobi."

The fantasy-film favorite has been adamant in his support for the Biden administration while simultaneously showing disdain for President Trump.

In March 2024, Hamill posted a photo of himself wearing an anti-Trump shirt. A caption to the photo read, "I voted for four more years of an orange-free Oval Office."

Additionally, Hamill's direct interactions with Biden's X account have included responding to the statement, "Donald Trump is the worst president we've ever had," by saying, "Joe Biden is the best president we've ever had."

He replied to the same statement again and called the Trump-directed insult the "understatement of the century."

Hamill's mindset in his criticism of Trump's injury following a presidential assassination plot was analyzed by commentator ALX, who compared the mental toughness of the two candidates:

"Donald Trump literally got shot two days ago and Mark Hamill is criticizing the size of his bandage. Meanwhile Joe Biden took a week off to go to Camp David for 'Debate Prep' but could hardly put together a single coherent sentence."

Still, Hamill took another shot at Trump; but where his first comment was an observation, the latter appeared to be a misinterpretation of a photo of the former president with his eyes closed.

"For once, I'm with him," Hamill wrote, with a picture of himself laying down as well as the photo of Trump. Hamill was implying that Trump fell asleep at the RNC, however, readers pointed out that the photo was taken during a moment of prayer at the event.

Victorious Braves fans mercilessly boo MLB commissioner — who took All-Star Game out of Georgia — after he starts speaking at World Series trophy presentation

Major League Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred had to know it was coming with an Atlanta Braves triumph in this year's World Series.

And sure enough, even though the Braves' clinching win Tuesday night took place on the Houston Astros' home field, a big contingent of Braves fans were in the building — and they hung around after the game, gathered along the third-base line, and dutifully began booing as soon as Manfred began speaking.

Check it out:

Rob Manfred delivers World Series trophy to the BRAVES!youtu.be

It really was like clockwork: Cheers for the Braves at the start of the video, immediate boos when Manfred began to speak, and cheering for the Braves after he was done.

What's the background?

Manfred already was on the hot seat — and getting massively mocked — after the Braves won the National League Championship Series over the Los Angeles Dodgers last week.

The reason? Manfred got woke in April and pulled the All-Star Game out of Atlanta over Georgia's new voting law. At the time Manfred said it was "the best way to demonstrate our values as a sport," that pro baseball "fundamentally supports voting rights for all Americans and opposes restrictions at the ballot box," and that "fair access to voting continues to have our game's unwavering support."

Georgia's election reforms include requiring absentee ballots be verified with a photo ID and expanding early voting for primary and general elections — changes generally supported by Republicans and opposed by Democrats.

After Manfred dumped Atlanta as the All-Star Game's host city, Georgia's Republican Gov. Brian Kemp said "Georgians — and all Americans — should fully understand what the MLB's knee-jerk decision means: cancel culture and woke political activists are coming for every aspect of your life, sports included."

The Braves also issued a statement upon hearing the news saying they were "deeply disappointed" in the decision and that "unfortunately, businesses, employees, and fans in Georgia are the victims of this decision."

Indeed, according to Fox News, the move actually was seen as hurting minorities by moving revenue from 51% black Atlanta to 76% white Denver, the All-Star Game's eventual landing spot.

'Straight KARMA'

Atlanta fans tore into Manfred and relished the vision of him handing the World Series trophy to the Braves — the ultimate revenge.

And then that very thing happened on live TV.

With that, Braves fans got in Manfred's virtual face once again and dined on their three-piece suit-wearing pound of flesh while basking in victory:

  • "Rob Manfred having to hand the @Braves the World Series Trophy last night is straight KARMA for f***ing them out of the All-Star game," one Twitter user declared. "@MLB needs to thank the @Braves for overcoming the hypocrisy and making this an epic World Series."
  • "Reminiscing on how Rob Manfred could not stand straight or avoid looking for the nearest exit while having to congratulate all the people he personally screwed over," another user noticed.
  • "Braves winning the World Series is the perfect bitch slap to Manfred," another user said. "Moving the All-Star Game out of Georgia just for ATL to win it all with even more fans watching and in attendance. Hahaha."

Oh, and this:

The Braves winning the World Series is a smack in the face to woke MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred for moving the All-Star Game out of Atlantahttps://notthebee.com/article/the-braves-winning-the-world-series-is-a-smack-in-the-face-to-the-woke-mlb-for-moving-the-all-star-game-out-of-atlanta\u00a0\u2026

After targeting Rep. Banks for calling transgender HHS official Rachel Levine 'a man,' Twitter targeted Not the Bee for tweeting about the story

Not the Bee's Twitter account was temporarily locked and required to delete a tweet in order to regain access, according to Adam Ford.

While the popular satire website The Babylon Bee serves up fictitious content, Not the Bee operates in an entirely different lane that involves highlighting real news stories.

"Not the Bee is a humor-based news, opinion, and entertainment site from the creators of The Babylon Bee and Disrn. Like the name suggests, it'll feature some absurd and hilarious (but real) news that seems like it should definitely be satire," Ford noted on the site last year.

Ironically, the Not the Bee tweet flagged by Twitter was meant to share a post about Twitter targeting the official account of U.S. Rep. Jim Banks (R-Ind.) over a tweet describing Assistant Secretary for Health for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Rachel Levine as "a man."

Not the Bee's offending tweet stated: "Twitter suspended a sitting congressman for calling transgender HHS official Rachel Levine — who is a biological male —a 'man'"

Levine, a transgender woman, is a biological male who identifies as a woman. Last week an HHS release described Levine as the "first-ever female four-star admiral" in the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps.

"The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) publicly announced today the nation's first openly transgender four-star officer across any of the eight uniformed services of the United States. Admiral Rachel Levine, who serves as the HHS Assistant Secretary for Health and head of the U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS) Commissioned Corps, was ceremonially sworn in as a four-star admiral," the release stated. "Admiral Levine now serves as the highest ranking official in the USPHS Commissioned Corps and its first-ever female four-star admiral."

The Republican congressman's official Twitter account was locked by the social media company for a tweet that declared, "The title of first female four-star officer gets taken by a man."

Reports indicate that a Twitter spokesperson informed media outlets that the congressman's account was temporarily locked for breaching the company's hateful conduct policy and that the offending tweet must be deleted before account access will be restored.

"The account referenced has been temporarily locked for violating our Hateful Conduct Policy. The account owner is required to delete the violative Tweet before regaining access to their account," a Twitter spokesperson noted in a statement, according to The Hill.

Banks, who has not posted any tweets on that account since Oct. 22, announced that he will be posting on his personal account.

"Twitter has suspended my official account for posting a statement of FACT. I won't back down. I'll be posting on my personal account for the time being," he tweeted.
