Pro-Palestinian protesters chant 'resistance is justified' at Columbia University on anniversary of horrific terror attack

Anti-Israel protesters at Columbia University were criticized on social media for appearing to chant in support of the horrific October 7 terror attack on the one-year anniversary.

'Tension, division, and politicization have disrupted our campus.'

Video posted to social media Monday showed protesters chanting, "Resistance is justified," while marching with anti-Israel signs. Another video showed them chanting, "One solution! Revolution!" which many took to be a reference to Hitler's "final solution" of genocide. Some of the protesters carried Palestinian flags and signs supporting the Israeli divestment movement.

A smaller group of demonstrators assembled to express support for Israel. They also set up an art installation in honor of the hostages taken by Hamas terrorists.

Some of the anti-Israel protesters left the Columbia demonstration to join another protest on Wall Street in downtown New York City.

The Oct. 7 terror attack claimed the lives of 1,139 people and injured many thousands. In addition, about 250 people were taken hostage from Israel, including some U.S. citizens. Israel responded by launching a military attack on Hamas in the Gaza Strip, but the conflict has spread to the north after Hezbollah attacked from Lebanon.

In April, the pro-Palestinian protesters took over an academic building at Columbia, prompting officials to shut down entry gates. In August, the president of Columbia University announced her resignation and cited the violent protests.

"Tension, division, and politicization have disrupted our campus over the last year," said Minouche Shafik. "I have tried to navigate a path that upholds academic principles and treats everyone with fairness and compassion."

A news video report about the protest can be viewed on YouTube.

The 7 craziest things going on at the DNC right now

While you’re probably not tuning in to watch the DNC, which is being hosted this week in Chicago, Illinois, Liz Wheeler is absolutely glued to her screen.

“Maybe it's some kind of sadistic joy that I get from watching, you know, communists and perverts actually reveal their true colors to the world,” she laughs, adding that she thinks watching the convention can be “helpful for the Republican cause.”

On this episode of “The Liz Wheeler Show,” Liz lists out the seven craziest things she’s seen so far at the DNC.

- YouTubewww.youtube.com

“This stuff is so nutty, it shows the character of the Democrats who want to rule our country and control our lives,” she says.

1. Free abortions

“The Democrats are having an abortion bus outside of the DNC. It's a Planned Parenthood mobile abortion clinic that is offering free abortions and free vasectomies to the attendees at the DNC.”

“They’re actually driving around seeking babies to kill,” says Liz in disgust.

2. Jeffrey Marsh invitation

Nonbinary social media mega influencer Jeffrey Marsh has been invited to attend the convention.

“The reason that [Marsh] is famous on TikTok is because he recruits children to run away from their parents,” says Liz. “He recruits children in the name of the LGBTQ ideology to cut contact with their parents and instead send him personal messages on his Patreon account.”

“He’s the definition of a groomer; he takes a child or a young person and tries to manipulate them emotionally,” and yet “the DNC invited him as a special guest.”

3. Chicago businesses closing up shop

Chicago business owners are boarding up their businesses because they’re afraid that what happened to cities during the BLM riots will happen in Chicago as a result of the DNC being hosted there.

Over 100,000 anti-Israel protesters are expected to show up outside the DNC this week and wreak who knows what kind of havoc.

“I kind of get a chill when I see these protesters,” says Liz, “because it doesn't just look like silly, entitled college kids or, you know, stupid, well-off elitists who have bought into communism because they have such a cushy lifestyle.

“This looks like a foreign army to me,” she says of the masses gathering in Chicago.

“They hold an anti-American, anti-Western civilization, anti-Christian ideology, anti-Semitic ideology, and they're trying to impose that on our political system, and our political system isn't just a nebulous concept; a political system means you and me and our families and our institutions and our communities and our children,” she warns.

4. Wall erected in the name of protection

In a twist of irony, the DNC is building a security wall around the perimeter of the convention in response to the masses of protesters.

“We have a scenario where the left has told us that we are racist, Islamophobic, xenophobic, hateful, anti-immigrant — all these kind of terrible names that they call us that aren't true because we support a wall along our southern border to keep our country safe,” says Liz, “and yet they're building a wall around their own event to keep it safe from outside forces that want to cause them harm.”

5. Clean up the streets

“The mayor of Chicago is trying to clear migrants away from the DNC area.”

“This reminds me of when Gavin Newsom cleared all the homeless camps from San Francisco when Xi Jinping, the communist dictator of China, came to town ... That's the vibes that this gives in Chicago right now,” says Liz.

6. Bribing influencers for marketing

Apparently, “Kamala Harris is paying influencers to come to the DNC if they post about it,” says Liz, adding that the payment is rumored to be “up to $20,000.”

“Harris doesn't think that she's going to get organic enough support; she wants to pay influencers,” she continues.

“Kamala Harris, like Barack Obama before her, does understand that those influencers make a difference in young people's decision to vote and their decision who to vote for, so I'm not dismissing it as a strategy, but I do think that we should make fun of the influencers because they're selling their soul.”

7. Typos galore

Someone needs to get fired because “the DNC platform for Kamala Harris’ campaign for president talks about Biden’s second term a dozen times.”

Did someone forget to update it?

Or, according to Liz, perhaps the outdated text reveals something else: “They’re not just sloppy; they’re not just stupid. Neither Joe Biden nor Kamala Harris are controlling their own agenda in the White House,” she says.

Anti-Israel students sue Columbia University, claim they’re victims of ‘extreme’ harassment despite campus takeover

A group of anti-Israel students filed a lawsuit on Thursday against Columbia University, claiming that they have been the victims of “extreme anti-Palestinian, anti-Arab, and Islamophobic harassment on campus since October 9, 2023,” New York Post reported.

Palestine Legal filed the complaint on behalf of four students and the extremist group Columbia Students for Justice in Palestine. It claims that the students have been the victims of “multiple death threats, being called terrorists and ‘Jew killers,’ being harassed for wearing keffiyehs (traditional Palestinian scarf) or hijab, being doxed.” The students also complained that they are “being stereotyped as supporting Hamas or as terrorists, being treated differently by high-ranking administrators.”

The lawsuit accused the Columbia University administration of failing to put an end to, and even reinforcing, the alleged harassment despite “dozens of complaints” from students. It attacked the university’s decision to “invit[e] the New York Police Department (NYPD) onto campus for the first time in decades to arrest over 100 students who had been peacefully protesting Israel’s genocide of Palestinians, summarily suspending many of them, locking them out of classes, and even prohibiting them from taking exams or submitting papers online.”

The anti-Israel, pro-Hamas protests and encampment have taken over Columbia University’s main campus, prompting the school to move to online classes and remote learning for the remainder of the semester, Blaze News previously reported.

The complaint is requesting an investigation into the school’s handling of the alleged discrimination.

On Monday morning, protesters were told they have until 2 p.m. to clear out the encampment or they will be suspended, the New York Post reported.

“It is important for you to know that the university has already identified many students in the encampment,” read a warning letter to students. “If you do not leave by 2pm, you will be suspended pending further investigation.”

“If you voluntarily leave by 2pm, identify yourself to ... university officials, and sign the provided form where you commit to abide by all university policies through June 30, 2025, or the date of the conferral of your degree, whichever is earlier, you will be eligible to complete the semester in good standing,” the letter added.

Columbia Students for Justice in Palestine shared the letter on X, telling students, “Do not sign anything with administration.”

“Show up at NOON to protect the encampment!” the group wrote.

ACTION ALERT:
- Columbia University admin threatens MASS SUSPENSIONS and DISCIPLINARY PROBATION (until June 2025) to Gaza Solidarity Encampment participants who don’t leave by 2 PM.
- Do not sign anything with administration.
- Show up at NOON to protect the encampment! ❤️‍🔥

Columbia University President Minouche Shafik expressed regret that the university could not reach an agreement with the protesters, who insisted the school divest from entities with ties to Israel. She stated that the demonstrations created a “hostile” and “unwelcoming environment.”

“I know that many of our Jewish students, and other students as well, have found the atmosphere intolerable in recent weeks. Many have left campus, and that is a tragedy,” Shafik said.

Columbia University cancels in-person classes for remainder of semester after pro-Hamas protesters take over campus

Columbia University recently announced that it will no longer hold in-person classes at its main campus for the remainder of the school semester due to the unruly pro-Hamas activists who have taken over the property.

Provost Angela Olinto wrote a notice to students and faculty Monday evening explaining that the university's Morningside main campus will switch all courses to "hybrid — classroom technology permitting — until the end of each school's Spring 2024 semester."

She noted a "carveout" for the campus' arts and practice-based programs, noting that those courses would be "in-person with generous accommodations supported by school deans and staff."

The university's Medical Center and Manhattanville campuses will continue to hold in-person courses, but it will "grant accommodations based on religious reasons."

"All faculty whose classrooms are located on the main Morningside campus and equipped with hybrid capabilities should enable them to provide virtual learning options to students who need such a learning modality," Olinto wrote. "Faculty in other classrooms or teaching spaces that do not have capabilities for offering hybrid options should hold classes remotely if there are student requests for virtual participation. If the class does not permit adapting to the remote offering format, we encourage faculty to provide other accommodations liberally to students who have requested support for virtual learning this week."

The notice encouraged its administrative officers and support staff to work from home. Olinto stated that "safety" is the university's "highest priority."

Some students and parents were frustrated by Columbia's announcement and demanded that their nearly $70,000 per year tuition be refunded, the New York Post reported.

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) encouraged parents to "demand a refund and then sue for breach of contract."

Michael D'Agostino, a 22-year-old junior, said, "I'm studying applied physics and applied math and those are classes I really benefit from being in-person. I went through COVID and all that when we were online for about a year and it really disrupted our education."

"I really think it's disheartening to see how our education is being punished as a result of this," he added, referring to the disruptive and volatile week-long protests.

Blaze News previously reported that Shai Davidai, an Israel-born Jewish assistant professor at Columbia Business School, had his school identification card deactivated on Monday, preventing him from accessing the university's main campus. He stated that the school told him it stopped him from entering the school grounds because it could not guarantee his safety amid the ongoing anti-Israel protests.

JUST IN: Columbia University has announced classes will be remote for the rest of the year as anti-Israel protests rock the school.

There are now growing calls for tuition refunds for the $70k a year college now that it has practically turned into an online school.

"It’s vital…
