Nikki Haley — who isn't even running anymore — won a sizable percentage of the Pennsylvania GOP presidential primary vote

Even though former President Donald Trump is already the presumptive 2024 GOP presidential nominee, Nikki Haley, who dropped her Republican presidential primary bid last month, won more than 16% of the vote in the Pennsylvania Republican presidential primary, unofficial results indicate.

Haley got more than 157,000 votes while Trump received more than 790,000, according to the unofficial results.

"In Pennsylvania, you can only vote for the candidates in the same political party you have named in your voter registration. For example, if you registered to vote as a member of the Republican Party then you can vote in the Republican primary, but not the Democratic primary," according to vote.pa.gov.

On the other side of the political aisle, where President Joe Biden is the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, Democratic Rep. Dean Phillips of Minnesota, who dropped his primary bid last month, won more than 6% of the vote in the Pennsylvania Democratic presidential primary, according to the unofficial results. Those unofficial results indicate that Biden received more than 941,000 votes.

Regarding Pennsylvania's presidential voting history, Trump's victory in 2016 was the lone red island within a sea of blue, as Democrats won the Keystone State in each of the other presidential contests from 1992 to 2020.

Biden, who is already the oldest president in American history, would be 86 by the end of a second term if he were to win re-election later this year while Trump would be 82 by the end of his second term if he were to win the 2024 contest.

Nikki Haley and Dean Phillips both drop their White House bids

Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley dropped out of the Republican presidential nominating contest on Wednesday, announcing the move after a slew of Super Tuesday losses to former President Donald Trump.

Out of the 15 states with GOP presidential nominating contests on Tuesday, Haley won just one while Trump won the other 14. Prior to that, the only contest she had won during her presidential run was the Washington, D.C., Republican presidential primary.

During remarks on Wednesday, Haley announced the suspension of her campaign.

"In all likelihood, Donald Trump will be the Republican nominee when our party convention meets in July. I congratulate him and wish him well. I wish anyone well who would be America's president," she said.

"I have always been a conservative Republican and always supported the Republican nominee. But on this question, as she did on so many others, Margaret Thatcher provided some good advice when she said, quote, 'Never just follow the crowd. Always make up your own mind.' It is now up to Donald Trump to earn the votes of those in our party and beyond it who did not support him. And I hope he does that," Haley stated.

On the other side of the political aisle, Rep. Dean Phillips of Minnesota dropped his bid for the Democratic presidential nod.

"I ran for Congress in 2018 to resist Donald Trump, I was trapped in the Capitol in 2021 because of Donald Trump, and I ran for President in 2024 to resist Donald Trump again - because Americans were demanding an alternative, and democracy demands options. But it is clear that alternative is not me. And it is clear that Joe Biden is OUR candidate and OUR opportunity to demonstrate what type of country America is and intends to be," Phillips wrote in a post on X. "I ask you join me in mobilizing, energizing, and doing everything you can to help keep a man of decency and integrity in the White House. That's Joe Biden."

Super Tuesday results: Trump wins Virginia Republican presidential primary

This story will be updated as more states publish the results of their primaries.

Former President Donald Trump has won the Virginia Republican presidential primary, according to the Associated Press.

Republican presidential nominating contests in more than a dozen states on Super Tuesday will help determine whether Trump, the clear frontrunner, becomes the 2024 GOP presidential nominee.

The 15 states voting in the Republican nominating contest on Super Tuesday include Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, and Virginia.

Prior to Super Tuesday, Trump had been dominating the GOP presidential nominating contest while former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley had been performing dismally, only winning in the District of Columbia's Republican presidential primary.

Haley scores her first victory of the 2024 GOP presidential nominating contest by winning in DC

After a string of losses to former President Donald Trump during the 2024 Republican presidential nominating contest, Nikki Haley finally snapped her massive losing streak by winning the GOP presidential primary in the District of Columbia.

According to results reported by the Associated Press, Haley received 1,274 votes, while Trump received 676 votes.

The individual who becomes the 2024 Republican presidential nominee likely stands little chance of winning Washington, D.C., during the general election, as the city has gone blue in each presidential contest since 1964, which was the first presidential election that took place after the 23rd Amendment was in place.

Haley, a former South Carolina governor who even lost the GOP presidential primary in her home state last month, has declined to drop out of the contest, even as Trump dominates.

"I purposely stayed away from the D.C. Vote because it is the 'Swamp,' with very few delegates, and no upside," Trump claimed in a post on Truth Social. "Birdbrain is a loser, record low performance in virtually every State," he said in another post.

Haley, who served as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations during a portion of Trump's White House tenure, may be dealt a slew of losses on Super Tuesday.

"Don't complain about what happens in a general election if you don't participate in the primary election," a post on Haley's X account states. A graphic included with the post declares, "VOTE NIKKI HALEY ON SUPER TUESDAY AND SAVE THE COUNTRY."

'I'm not going anywhere': Nikki Haley says she will remain in GOP presidential primary

With zero wins so far and a potential home state drubbing on the horizon, Republican presidential primary candidate Nikki Haley has declared that she plans to continue running in the 2024 Republican presidential primary.

According to polling, the former South Carolina governor is poised to lose the Palmetto State's GOP presidential primary by a significant margin.

"South Carolina will vote on Saturday. But on Sunday, I'll still be running for president. I'm not going anywhere. I'm campaigning every day until the last person votes, because I believe in a better America and a brighter future for our kids," she said during a speech on Tuesday.

Haley said of former President Donald Trump that she does not feel the need to "kiss the ring."

"I have no fear of Trump's retribution," she said. "I'm not looking for anything from him. My own political future is of zero concern," she said.

Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung tweeted, "She's going to drop down to kiss ass when she quits, like she always does."

Haley finished the Iowa GOP presidential caucus in third place behind former President Donald Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. And after DeSantis dropped out, Haley lost to Trump in the New Hampshire Republican presidential primary.

Trump did not run in the primary in Nevada, but Haley still lost to a "None of These Candidates" option. Haley did not compete in the Nevada GOP caucus, the contest in which delegates were actually at stake, and Trump won that contest.

Haley, who served as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations during a portion of Trump's White House tenure, said that Trump and President Joe Biden are "too old" to serve as president. "We're talking about the most demanding job in human history. You don't give it to someone who's at risk of dementia," she said.

RNC chair Ronna McDaniel dumps cold water on Nikki Haley's presidential bid

After former President Donald Trump defeated former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley in the New Hampshire GOP presidential primary, Republican National Committee chair Ronna McDaniel dumped cold water on Haley's ongoing presidential bid, indicating that she does not see a path for Haley to win.

"I do think there is a message that's coming out from the voters which is very clear. We need to unite around our eventual nominee, which is gonna be Donald Trump," McDaniel said.

Haley, who lost to Trump in the Granite State on Tuesday after placing third in the Iowa Republican presidential caucuses last week, has indicated that she plans to press on with her White House bid.

But many Republicans have been backing Trump, who appears likely to win the GOP's 2024 presidential nod. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who came in a distant second place in Iowa, suspended his campaign and endorsed Trump prior to the New Hampshire contest.

"Nikki 'Birdbrain' Haley is very bad for the Republican Party and, indeed, our Country," Trump declared in a post on Truth Social. "I knew Nikki well, she was average at best, is not the one to take on World Leaders, and she never did. That was up to me, and that is why they respected the United States," Trump claimed.

"When I ran for Office and won, I noticed that the losing Candidate's 'Donors' would immediately come to me, and want to 'help out.' This is standard in Politics, but no longer with me. Anybody that makes a 'Contribution' to Birdbrain, from this moment forth, will be permanently barred from the MAGA camp. We don't want them, and will not accept them, because we Put America First, and ALWAYS WILL!" Trump declared.

Haley served as U.S. ambassador to the U.N. during a portion of Trump's presidential tenure.

Sen. Tim Scott teases Trump endorsement

Republican Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina, who launched but later dropped his own White House bid last year, is apparently planning to endorse former President Donald Trump, even as former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, who appointed Scott to the U.S. Senate more than a decade ago, challenges Trump for the GOP presidential nomination.

While standing near Trump's plane, Scott said in a video that he was "so excited for the announcement tonight."

Scott reportedly plans to endorse Trump.

Trump recently trounced the rest of the GOP field when he decisively won Iowa's Republican presidential caucuses. After a poor performance in Iowa, Vivek Ramaswamy swiftly dropped out and endorsed Trump. Haley placed third in the Hawkeye State, not far behind Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who came in a distant second place behind Trump.

Scott's expected endorsement will come just days before the New Hampshire Republican presidential primary. Ahead of that contest, polls show Trump leading, with Haley in second place. New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu, who endorsed Haley last year, reportedly said, "If anybody cared about Tim Scott, he'd still be running for president."

Scott has been serving as a senator for over a decade. He took office in early 2013 after Haley announced his appointment in late 2012. Scott went on to win a 2014 special election before winning election to full Senate terms in 2016 and 2022. Prior to serving in the Senate, he had previously served in the U.S. House of Representatives.

The South Carolina Republican presidential primary will take place in February.

DeSantis accuses Haley of being scared to debate; planned ABC News-WMUR New Hampshire GOP primary debate scrapped

Nikki Haley has indicated that she does not plan to do any more debates unless she gets to face former President Donald Trump or President Joe Biden.

"We've had five great debates in this campaign. Unfortunately, Donald Trump has ducked all of them. He has nowhere left to hide. The next debate I do will either be with Donald Trump or with Joe Biden. I look forward to it," Haley tweeted.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis accused her of being "afraid to debate."

"Nikki Haley is afraid to debate because she doesn't want to answer the tough questions such as how she got rich off Boeing after giving them millions in taxpayer handouts as governor of South Carolina. The reality is that she is not running for the nomination, she’s running to be Trump's VP," DeSantis tweeted. "I won't snub New Hampshire voters like both Nikki Haley and Donald Trump, and plan to honor my commitments. I look forward to debating two empty podiums in the Granite State this week."

An ABC News/WMUR-TV Republican presidential primary debate that had been scheduled to occur in New Hampshire later this week will not take place.

"Our intent was to host a debate coming out of the Iowa caucuses, but we always knew that would be contingent on the candidates and the outcome of the race," an ABC News spokesperson said in a statement, according to ABC News. "As a result, while our robust election coverage will continue, ABC News and WMUR-TV will not be moving forward with Thursday’s Republican presidential primary debate in New Hampshire." WMUR described the comments as a joint statement released by ABC News and WMUR.

Haley and DeSantis faced off during a one-on-one CNN debate in Des Moines, Iowa, last week. Last year, DeSantis and Haley were among the candidates who competed in four Republican National Committee-affiliated GOP presidential primary debates. But Trump, who has not attended any of the debates, crushed the rest of the field during the Iowa Republican presidential caucuses on Monday.

While DeSantis has accepted CNN's invitation to participate in a January 21 GOP presidential primary debate in New Hampshire, he appears to be the only eligible candidate planning to participate in the event.

'Proud RINO' Adam Kinzinger says he would vote for Biden over Trump and hopes Nikki Haley wins New Hampshire GOP primary

Former Rep. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois said that if the presidential election is a race between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, he would vote for Biden "in a heartbeat."

Kinzinger, a CNN senior political commentator and vocal Trump critic, said during an appearance on "The Source" that he believes in the U.S. more than he believes in the GOP, adding that he does not "really believe in the Republican Party at the moment."

While he had previously expressed support for Chris Christie, the former New Jersey governor dropped out of the GOP presidential primary this week.

Kinzinger said that he hopes former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley will win the New Hampshire Republican primary and gain momentum.

Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky has said the he does not "think any informed or knowledgeable libertarian or conservative should support Nikki Haley."

Kinzinger includes the phrase "Proud RINO" on his X profile, as well as the phrase "Slava Ukraini" and the American, Ukrainian, and Israeli flag emojis.

He was one of the 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach Trump in the wake of the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot. The Senate, which voted on the issue after Trump had already departed from office, failed to reach the threshold necessary to convict. Kinzinger was one of the two Republicans on the House select committee that was supposed to probe the Jan. 6 episode.

Adam Kinzinger says he'd vote for Biden if Trump is the nominee: \xc2\xa0\xe2\x80\x9cOver Donald Trump? In a\xc2\xa0heartbeat.\xc2\xa0To me, that's not even a question\xc2\xa0I would have to wrestle with. It's literally a decision\xc2\xa0at that moment between, \xe2\x80\x98Do you\xc2\xa0believe in a functioning\xc2\xa0democracy or do you not?\xe2\x80\x99"

'#NeverNikki': Rand Paul slaps Nikki Haley with anti-endorsement

Some Republicans have endorsed presidential primary candidates, but GOP Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky has declared what could be characterized as an anti-endorsement, announcing that he is "#NeverNikki" while expressing his strong opposition to Nikki Haley's candidacy.

In a video, Paul said that "there's a lot to like" about former President Donald Trump. The senator also said he is a "big fan of ... the fiscal conservatism of Ron DeSantis." The lawmaker then described Vivek Ramaswamy as an "important voice."

But he declared that he "cannot support" Haley. "I don't think any informed or knowledgeable libertarian or conservative should support Nikki Haley," he declared.

— (@)

Paul is directing people to visit nevernikki.net. The site, which has a form where people can provide their name, email address, phone number, and zip code, indicates that it is "PAID FOR BY RAND PAUL FOR US SENATE."

The senator recently met with Democrat-turned-independent presidential hopeful Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who tweeted on Wednesday, "Had a wonderful talk with @RandPaul this morning about issues we share in common — restoring free speech and ending forever wars, chronic disease epidemics, agency capture, and government waste."

Trump remains the clear frontrunner in the GOP presidential primary, according to polls, but Haley may prove to be competitive in New Hampshire.

A Saint Anselm College Survey Center poll found that among New Hampshire Republican presidential primary likely voters, 45% indicated they would be most likely to back Trump in the primary, while 31% supported Haley. While 9% supported Chris Christie, the former New Jersey governor recently announced the end of his presidential bid, which means other candidates could snag the votes of his supporters.

"I do like a lot of the aspects of at least three people on the Republican side as well as Bobby Kennedy," Paul said, according to Politico. "I'm absolutely dead certain Nikki Haley would be wrong for our country," he noted. "And I do have some voice. I want to make sure my voice is heard."
