‘Serious Disregard For These Children’s Welfare’: Biden Admin Policies Could Place Migrant Kids in Homes With Sex Offenders

The Biden administration’s attempts to implement a more humane immigration policy are leading it to hand migrant children over to American adults who haven’t submitted to background checks, according to a Senate report obtained by the Washington Free Beacon. That has made those kids vulnerable to everything from being placed in the custody of legal guardians who have a history of child neglect to living in homes with registered sex offenders.

GOP Senators’ Top Priority After Failed Midterms Is Helping Democrats Trample The Meaning Of Marriage

The 'Respect for Marriage Act' would open the floodgates for leftists to wage an all-out legal assault against any American obeying the Word of God.

Multiple Senate Republicans ready to join Democrats in approving pro-gay marriage bill

Several Senate Republicans are prepared to join Democrats in approving a measure that would help advance the pro-gay marriage agenda.

While the Supreme Court already forced all states to allow and recognize same-sex marriages in its 2015 Obergefell v. Hodges decision, earlier this year, House lawmakers, including dozens of Republicans, passed the Respect for Marriage Act, a measure that would enshrine into law a prohibition against states refusing to recognize marriages from other states on the basis of factors such as sex and race.

The legislation would bar states from denying "full faith and credit to any public act, record, or judicial proceeding of any other State pertaining to a marriage between individuals, on the basis of the sex, race, ethnicity, or national origin of those individuals," according to the measure.

A bipartisan group of senators is pushing an amendment to the Respect for Marriage Act, which includes language that is supposed to protect religious liberty — those lawmakers, who include GOP Sens. Rob Portman of Ohio, Susan Collins of Maine, and Thom Tillis of North Carolina and Democratic Sens. Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin and Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona, issued a statement promoting their version of the measure.

"The Respect for Marriage Act is a needed step to provide millions of loving couples in same-sex and interracial marriages the certainty that they will continue to enjoy the freedoms, rights, and responsibilities afforded to all other marriages," the lawmakers said in the statement. "Through bipartisan collaboration, we've crafted commonsense language to confirm that this legislation fully respects and protects Americans’ religious liberties and diverse beliefs, while leaving intact the core mission of the legislation to protect marriage equality. We look forward to this legislation coming to the floor and are confident that this amendment has helped earn the broad, bipartisan support needed to pass our commonsense legislation into law."

The Hill reported that GOP Sen. Mitt Romney of Utah said that he would vote for the measure if the religious freedom amendment is added. "If that amendment is attached to the bill, I'll vote for it," Romney said, according to the outlet.

If the measure clears the Senate, it will still need to clear the House before heading to President Joe Biden.

'This is disgusting': Ohio Senate candidate debate flares up over Great Replacement Theory as JD Vance slams Tim Ryan

Ohio Senate candidates Rep. Tim Ryan (D) and venture capitalist J.D. Vance (R) got into a heated exchange at Monday night's debate in Youngstown that devolved into personal insults and veiled accusations of racism.

The candidates met Monday for their final debate before the Nov. 8 election, which proved contentious after a moderator asked Ryan for his opinion on the "Great Replacement Theory." The conspiracy theory is a fringe belief that Jewish elites are organizing the mass importation of non-white immigrants into the United States to dilute the white vote and seize power.

Democrats and media figures have conflated the Great Replacement Theory with conservative opposition to illegal immigration in order to demonize their opponents as racists and xenophobes. Ryan attempted to do the same to Vance, linking the conspiracy theory to the deadly mass shooting at a Buffalo supermarket in May, in which the perpetrator targeted a predominantly black community, and accusing Vance of holding similar views to the shooter.

"I think it's nonsense. I think it is grounded in some of the most racially divisive writings in the history of the world, and this is who he's running around with," Ryan said, pointing at his Republican opponent.

"It's shameful for you to accuse me of that, given my family," Vance interjected.

“J.D. Vance: "My own children, my biracial children, get attacked by scumbags online and in person because you are so desperate for political power that you'll accuse me, the father of three beautiful biracial babies, of engaging in racism. We are sick of it."”

"My turn, pal," Ryan said, continuing with his response. "This great replacement theory was the motivator for the shooting in Buffalo, where that shooter had all these great replacement theory writings that J.D. Vance agrees with," Ryan charged, pointing again. "Some sicko got this information that he's peddling. Again, those extremists that he runs around with: Marjorie Taylor Greene, Ted Cruz, all these guys just want to stoke this racial violence. We're tired of it, J.D.!"

Vance, who has three children with his Indian American wife, was visibly angry as he responded.

"This is disgusting," he said. "Here's exactly what happens when the media and people like Tim Ryan accuse me of engaging in the Great Replacement Theory. What happens is that my own children, my biracial children, get attacked by scumbags online and in person because you are so desperate for political power that you'll accuse me, the father of three beautiful biracial babies, of engaging in racism. We are sick of it!

"You can believe in the border without being a racist. You can believe in the country without being a racist. And this just shows how desperate this guy is for political power," Vance said, gesturing toward Ryan.

Turning to his opponent, Vance said, "I know you've been in office for 20 years, Tim, and I know it's a sweet gig. But you're so desperate not to have a real job that you'll slander me and slander my family. It's disgraceful."

Ryan answered with an amused expression on his face, "I think I struck a nerve with this guy."

The clash over Great Replacement Theory took place near the end of what was otherwise a civil debate at Stambaugh Auditoriam hosted by WFMJ-TV. Ryan, a 10-term congressman, and Vance, a venture capitalist and best-selling author, answered questions on inflation, abortion rights, the opioid crisis in Ohio, and more.

Polls show a very close race, with Vance leading by two points in the RealClearPolitics average. Surveys taken in October have shown Vance with one-, two-, or three-point leads, within the margin of error. The candidates are competing to succeed retiring Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio), with Democrats spending millions to flip the seat and potentially increase their Senate majority.

J.D. Vance and Mike Gibbons exchange blows over abortion as the Ohio Senate primary intensifies

The Ohio GOP Senate primary continues to intensify as J.D. Vance’s campaign attacked Mike Gibbons as “squishy,” Fox News reported.

An article published by the Associated Press in 2017, when Mr. Gibbons last ran for the United States Senate, indicated that Gibbons might not be as staunchly pro-life as his campaign at the time indicated. The Associated Press reported that Gibbons said he “personally opposes abortion, but politically, he’s ‘not a woman’ so wouldn’t choose for them. He said he wasn’t ‘pro-choice,’ though, but ‘pro-people.’”

On Thursday, Vance raked Gibbons over the coals for his ostensible lack of commitment to the pro-life movement during a town hall event.

Vance said, “If you’re not willing to stand up for unborn babies in this country, then what else are you going to cut tail and run on when the going gets tough. If you’re not willing to stand on that issue, I think it indicates your character is weak, and you don’t have the fortitude to actually serve the interests of our voters.”

Noting that he was proud to be outspoken in support of the pro-life movement, Vance continued, “I’ve had the left attack me for a long time for having the courage of my convictions. And, you know what, when Mike Gibbons, they asked him whether he was pro-life, he said, no I wouldn’t call myself pro-life I think ultimately it should go to the woman’s choice.”

Condemning Gibbons’ apparent noncommitment to the pro-life cause, Vance added that his unclear stance “is the language of pro-abortion.”

OH SENATE: @JDVance1 rips fellow candidate @MikeGibbonsOH at a Townhall yesterday for comments Gibbons made in 2018 where he rejected the pro-life label, in favor of calling himself "pro-people" & said that since he's "not a woman," he can’t make the choice on abortion for them.pic.twitter.com/mg6XWwl2xz

Responding on Twitter, Mike Gibbon’s spokeswoman Samantha Cotten said that Vance “is lying, and he knows it.”

She added that it was “sad that he has resorted to pushing fake news.”

.@JDVance1 is lying and he knows it. Sad that he has resorted to pushing fake news. Mike Gibbons is and has always been 100% pro-life. He's been active with crisis pregnancy centers and pro-life causes for decades.https://twitter.com/JDVance1/status/1494704525059502086 …

Ms. Cotten told TheBlaze that “Mike Gibbons is 100% pro-life. This spin was debunked in the 2018 election cycle. This attack is a desperate attempt by JD Vance to deflect the narrative away from his sinking campaign and his past comments attacking President Trump.”

The Vance Campaign’s press secretary, Taylor Van Kirk, told TheBlaze that “Using pro-abortion language and being squishy on the issue tells conservatives who you really are. Trying to walk it back after you realize its political weakness makes you a coward. JD is proud to be 100% pro-life and will fight to end abortion in America.”

Recent polling indicates that Vance and Gibbons are within striking distance of each other.
