Bill Maher’s Anti-Theistic Rant Reveals The Spiritual Abyss Of Leftism
Instead of maliciously misrepresenting millions of his fellow citizens, maybe Maher should ponder why they seem so much happier than he is.
Talk show host Bill Maher said it was ridiculous for stuntman and podcaster Steve-O to request that the host not smoke pot in front of him during a recording, due to Steve-O being a former addict.
During a late March 2024 episode of "Steve-O's Wild Ride!" the podcaster told entrepreneur Patrick Bet-David that he had plans to appear on Maher's podcast but was denied when he asked Maher's team if the host would refrain from smoking pot.
"He said, 'No, that's a deal breaker,'" Steve-O, who is 16 years sober, recalled.
Nearly two months later, Maher finally commented on the situation while speaking to skateboarding legend Tony Hawk. Maher said "that Steve-O guy was taking shots at me in the press recently."
"It was an unfortunate ... I don't want to start a feud, and I'm sorry that he felt slighted or something, but it is ridiculous that somebody thinks that I should give up pot smoking because they have a problem. Then I'm sorry you can’t be here," he said, according to Variety.
Maher added that the show is in his house and therefore "my rules," while adding that he has another show for serious and sober conversations.
"I already have another show. It’s called 'Real Time.' It’s on HBO and it’s very much not [with] pot. ... This is different. This is just shooting the s***, and this is how I shoot the s***. This is an attempt to get conversation as real as it ever is," he told Hawk. "Just like if we were doing this, and I don't see anything that we've said that I wouldn’t have just said to you if there were no cameras here — and you even know where the cameras are. Okay, so let’s remember that."
"I have no feud with any of these 'Jackass' [guys],” Maher added. "I watched all the movies. They are funny."

Shortly after Steve-O's original comments, fans noticed that Maher had actually honored a similar request on an episode of "Club Random" that aired weeks prior.
Maher was telling guest Sheryl Crow that college protesters had been driving him nuts, and when he hears some of their opinions, he said, "That's when I need a joint."
"But I will never light one up, but can I hold one?" Maher asked Crow.
"Yes, you can," the singer replied.
Crow then revealed that Maher was adhering to her request to help preserve her singing voice for an upcoming performance.
"If I wasn't singing tomorrow I'd say light that bad boy up right now," she added.
Maher then expressed how happy he was to make the adjustment for Crow.
"For you, first of all, I would do this standing on my head, but it is a little like running a marathon for the first time," the host admitted.
"I know it's got to be hard. It's difficult. First, you're wearing a suit jacket, and now you're not smoking, and I can't tell you how much I appreciate that. You know I appreciate that," Crow reiterated.

Stuntman and "Jackass" star Steve-O revealed that he is leaving the Hollywood hills after more than a decade and opting for more land and fewer taxes in Tennessee.
The former TV star turned stand-up comedian picked up and moved his entire life to a ranch in the South, shipping his family, animals, and even a skate ramp onto his new sprawling property.
Steve-O, whose real name is Stephen Gilchrist Glover, was able to make the same move many residents of California and New York have made and showcased the difference between his lifestyle in the Democrat-run state versus in conservative Tennessee.
Upon his arrival in his new home, Glover posted a video about the move to his YouTube channel and celebrated some of his new freedoms. This included an appreciation of firearms.
"We're not just having skate parties, we're having full-blown gun parties!" Steve-O announced. After he and his fiancée shot a variety of guns, Glover was visited by a local police officer to welcome him to the neighborhood.
"I never want to leave," Steve-O remarked, stating that anytime he takes a trip, he makes sure to promptly complete all business so he can return to the ranch as quickly as possible.
"If I'm going to leave the ranch it has to be a precision-strike mission so I can come right back to marking the days" off on his calendar, he said. This is important to Steve-O, he noted, so that he no longer has to pay California state taxes.
Tennessee is one of several states — including Texas and Florida — without any state income tax.
Ranch Update! @luxalot and I are now ready to sleep with WAY more animals every night, because our new bed is 7ft x 7ft! Thanks so much to https://t.co/ZCpIB3zTFH for getting this to us so quickly, it's our dream bed come true!!!— (@)
The stuntman and his partner explained they had also retrofitted a utility terrain vehicle, or UTV, to be street legal. This, in addition to riding motorcycles around their property, was one of the new freedoms they said they happily enjoyed.
Glover somehow managed to keep a trio of goats and other livestock in a make-shift barn on the second floor of his Hollywood property, but now he is able to let his animals roam freely on his new ranch.
His animals include chickens, two pigs, a pair of dogs, four cats, and now a fourth goat.
Even when using the example of a vending machine provided by a sponsor, Glover showed that in Hollywood, the vending machine needed to be lifted onto his property with a crane, and placed on top of a skate ramp due to a lack of space.
That same skate ramp, which was previously crammed into his Hollywood backyard after leveling the land, was easily rebuilt on his new property underneath a 22-foot car park.
Some of the work Steve-O said he is willing to leave his ranch for at times is to make appearances on shows and other podcasts. However, in late March 2024, he explained that he wouldn't be appearing on Bill Maher's "Club Random" show because Maher refused to respect his sobriety. Maher's producer reportedly told Steve-O's team that he declined to not smoke or drink during the recording.
Steve-O has been sober for nearly 16 years.
"All of these prolific potheads, I've been on their shows, and it wasn't so important to them to blow marijuana smoke in my face," Steve-O added. "For Bill Maher, it was a dealbreaker."
Maher never publicized any response to Steve-O's claims.

Star of the "Jackass" movies and successful podcaster Steve-O said that comedian Bill Maher refused to refrain from smoking marijuana in front of him in order to conduct an interview.
During an episode of "Steve-O's Wild Ride!" the podcaster recalled guest Patrick Bet-David's appearance on Maher's "Club Random" podcast, which spawned several viral clips about Maher's views on climate change and California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D).
Steve-O, whose real name is Stephen Gilchrist Glover, told Bet-David that he didn't much care for the way Maher had conducted his interview with the entrepreneur.
"Your appearance on Bill Maher's show ... I found the way he spoke to you to be rather insulting," Glover began.
After establishing that he has been sober for nearly 16 years, Steve-O explained that he too had plans to appear on Maher's podcast but couldn't come to an agreement with the host.
"Really there's nothing that I value more than my sobriety. There's nothing more that I protect than my recovery, and I found it kind of upsetting when the Bill Maher podcast, which I saw you on, reached out. They said, 'You know his thing is he smokes pot the whole time while he interviews people,'" Glover recalled.
"I said, 'Happy to go on there but, but could he, while I'm on, out of respect for my sobriety, could he refrain from smoking pot?'" he recited.
"He said no," Bet-David predicted.
"He said, 'No, that's a deal breaker,'" Steve-O confirmed. The stuntman compared Maher's response to that of Mike Tyson or rapper B-Real, both of whom have podcasts centered around pot smoking.
"All of these prolific potheads, I've been on their shows, and it wasn't so important to them to blow marijuana smoke in my face," Steve-O added. "For Bill Maher, it was a dealbreaker."
The "Jackass" star also said that from his own experience, he could then see how Maher could find even the most "innocuous thing" insulting.

"When I sat with him I was like, 'I have no idea where this is gonna go,'" Bet-David remembered about his interview with Maher. The 45-year-old agreed that Maher was insulting him throughout the duration of the podcast, which caused him to take a different approach and act as Maher's "therapist."
"I felt one insult, two insults, three, four, five," he cited.
The Valuetainment brand owner stated that Maher's show bookers loved him and asked him to come on because they felt Maher needed to be "challenged."
Bet-David also claimed that in addition to Maher taking the speaking role for 90% of their conversation, the episode garnered the most viewer comments the "Club Random" podcast has ever received.

Comedian Bill Burr has never been one to back down to controversy or bend the knee to political correctness. During a recent podcast appearance, the popular stand-up comedian explained why he'll never apologize to the outrage mob.
On Thursday, Burr appeared on “Steve-O’s Wild Ride” – a podcast hosted by the star of the reality TV stunt show "Jacka**." Steve-O – whose real name is Stephen Gilchrist Glover – asked Burr, "Okay I got a random question. I really thought about this because I’m genuinely curious if you’ve ever apologized for a joke?”
Burr admitted that he has apologized, but specified, "Yeah. But I do it to the individual that I hurt."
Burr explained that "if I told a joke about something that somebody had a personal effect to and I made them sad or made them cry" he would apologize to that offended individual if they were offended at a joke at one of his stand-up comedy shows.
However, Burr proclaimed that he would "refuse to apologize to anybody that is upset that they heard a joke at a show they weren’t at."
He said if a person got offended at a comedy special that he put out for the public, then he would consider the criticism. Burr declared he would never apologize if the negativity is coming from a person solely seeking out content to be outraged about.
Burr noted that there is so much entertainment online and on streaming services that there is plenty not to get angry at, and presented "videos of dogs snoring" as an example.
The comedy great said, "But you went out of your way to f***ing watch this thing, it’s on you."
"I am a big believer in if you are wrong, and if you feel you’re wrong, you apologize," he conceded. "But I’m not a believer in the mob mentality and I’m not gonna apologize just cause it’s not worth it. Because then all I do is give that strength that it’s okay to do that and then some other comic’s going to have to deal with it."
"The Mandolorian" star added, "If you come up to me after a f***king show, I’ll listen to you, and if I agree with what you’re saying I’ll be like, ‘Yeah, okay. It wasn’t a personal thing, I’m sorry. I’m sorry you went through that or whatever.’ And what I’ve found is they’ll actually be cool with you. People, anybody, like us… They want to be heard."
Burr refuses to apologize to the "professional being offended" crowd who only get outraged to "move whatever cause because you feel like you can fix society with your ideas."
Burr warned that everything has become about "steering" the narrative like "Fox News and CNN" that "some a**hole" will take the audio clip without context and say, "See! Comedians should apologize!"
