'God put me there': Toddler only survivor after Wisconsin crash kills 9, including 7 Amish community members

A toddler in Wisconsin is the only survivor after a van and tractor-trailer smashed into each other, leaving nine people dead, according to Fox News Digital. Seven of the nine people who died belonged to an Amish community.

The Clark County Sheriff's Office said the accident happened on Highway 95, southeast of Eau Claire in western Wisconsin. The two-year-old boy who survived was reportedly thrown from the vehicle and ultimately rescued by someone who was a witness to the horrific crash.

Nathaniel Jahn — the man who rescued the child — said, "I think God put me there for a reason." Jahn went on to mention that he was unable to help anyone else at the crash because the van soon burst into flames.

KMSP reported that the Amish group was from Pounding Mill, Virginia, hundreds of miles away from where the accident happened. Following the accident, the Amish community set up an information line.

The line said the two-year-old boy lost his parents, his little sister, his grandma, and two aunts in the accident.

"Having nine lives snuffed out in one accident is a tremendous shock. No words can explain it. It is totally beyond our comprehension. Our hearts are torn and bleeding," the Amish community’s information line said.

Neighbors in the Virginia area have come out in support of the community. Sara and Jodi White, who were both born and raised in Burke's Garden, Virginia, said that their hearts were broken for the families whose children they watched grow up in the area, per the report.

"It has been the most devastating thing this community has ever went through," Sara said. "You could say ‘I'm sorry,’ but that doesn't cover the loss of somebody. And when you are one person and you've lost your wife, two children, your son-in-law, your grandchild, I mean, what do you say to that person?"

The Whites have launched an effort to raise money and collect donations for the family.

"The Amish community is a community of people that will give you anything that they have to give," Jodi said. "The faith and the strength that's being displayed by this group of people right now — it's unmatched. It's something that really is very admirable."

Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers (D) addressed the tragic situation on social media, writing, "Kathy and I are saddened today by the fatal crash that occurred in Clark County, tragically taking nine lives."

"Our hearts and prayers go out to the families and loved ones of all those involved, as well as the first responders who worked quickly to provide support at the scene."

A little hero: Toddler finds elderly woman with Alzheimer's who'd been missing for 4 days

A little hero: Toddler finds elderly woman with Alzheimer's who'd been missing for 4 days

An elderly woman in early stages of Alzheimer's is home and resting with her family now thanks to the careful eye of a local toddler.

On August 9, the Coweta County Sheriff's Office issued a silver alert for Nina Lipscomb, an 82-year-old resident of Senoia, Georgia, about an hour south of Atlanta. Lipscomb had last been seen around 2 a.m. earlier that morning.

Though police and concerned neighbors conducted a thorough search of the local area, no one could find Lipscomb.

That is, until 1-year-old Ethan Moore went chasing bubbles in his backyard.

According to a Facebook post from his mom, Brittany Moore, little Ethan and his dogs were playing in the backyard like usual last Friday when the wind picked up and carried their bubbles toward a wooded area behind their fence.

"This time, Ethan didn't just chase the bubbles," Moore wrote, "but he stopped and looked into the woods. He bent down a little holding onto the fence and said 'feet.'"

When Brittany asked Ethan to repeat what he'd said, he once again uttered the word "feet" and gestured toward the woods.

"I proceeded to bend down to get on his level to see what he was pointing at," the post continues, "and I saw feet."

Like many others in the community, Brittany Moore and her family had heard about Lipscomb's disappearance and had prayed that authorities would find her soon. When Moore saw the pair of feet that Ethan had spotted in the woods, she knew that Ms. Nina had finally been found.

Moore said she then panicked with worry about Lipscomb's condition.

"I sobbed and all I could think was, she is right here, please be alive," Moore recalled in the post.

It turns out, Moore needn't have worried. Shortly after paramedics and police arrived, someone announced, "She is alive and talking!"

Medical teams then transported Lipscomb to the hospital where she remained under observation until Monday.

The sheriff's office has since updated its BOLO post about Ms. Nina to confirm she had been located.

According to CBS46 Atlanta, the Moores refused the reward money offered by the Lipscomb family. Ms. Nina was discovered less than a quarter of a mile from where she disappeared.

"Thank you God for protecting her," Moore wrote on Facebook. "Thank you God for the breeze to move the bubbles. Thank you God for being with us in that moment. Thank you for giving this family and community peace. Thank you for all of the first responders, 911 agent, my husband, parents, and inlaws."

Mitt Romney Just Voted To Keep Masking Two-Year-Olds

Romney crossed the aisle and helped Democrats doom two-year-olds to wearing face coverings even though most adults no longer have to.

Watch: Family with toddler, pregnant mom and special needs child kicked off Spirit Airlines flight

A video went viral Monday showing a family being temporarily booted from a Spirit Airlines flight over alleged mask violations, sparking outrage on social media as a flight attendant was seen noting that the couple's 2-year-old was not wearing a facial covering while she was eating.

The airline said the situation had nothing to do with the toddler, but that compliance with the federal mask mandate was the issue.

What are the details?

Initial footage circulated online showed a flight attendant approaching a couple and asking them to "pick up [their] stuff" and get off the plane due to "non-compliance with the masks."

The husband and wife argue that they have been wearing their masks, and the attendant points to their toddler — who is seen eating with a spoon — and says, "she's not wearing a mask."

At that point, other passengers step in to defend the family, asserting that other young children on the flight had their masks off and that the parents had also been in compliance. The attendant then claims she's going to call the police.

In a follow-up video, the father expressed his outrage over the situation, saying that the confrontation was planned before they even got on board and that "the whole plane was OK with it" but that "there was one African American that was not OK with it." The dad pointed out that his wife is pregnant, and said they also had their special needs son in tow.

The father said in a later video that there was "a happy ending" and that they were back on the flight.

"I think they removed that steward that wanted us off for no reason," he added.

The Daily Mail reported that a male flight attendant who purportedly had an issue with the family was kicked off the plane, publishing a picture showing a black man walking while towing luggage as an apparent police officer walks ahead of the man.

But Spirit Airlines says there are a lot of untruths being reported about the incident.

A spokesman for the airline told TheBlaze:

I want to emphasize that this was not about a two-year-old. Social media videos only captured a small part of what happened today. This flight was delayed because of the behavior of adults, which happened prior to any videos. There is also no truth to claims that police became involved with or removed a flight attendant. Orlando police have stated publicly that, though present at the gate, they did not take an active role in this situation.

Spirit Airlines said in its official statement:

We're aware of incorrect information circulating about Spirit Airlines Flight 138 from Orlando to Atlantic City. The flight was delayed due to adults who did not comply with the federal mask requirement. We allowed the Guests to continue on the flight to their destination after assurances of compliance.

Anything else?

Spirit Airlines has made headlines twice before this incident over separate instances of booting autistic children from their flights due to noncompliance with masks.
