Trans prisoner convicted of manslaughter impregnated two inmates, attempted to remove his testicles with a razor

A New Jersey inmate landed himself in the hospital after he recently attempted to remove his testicles with a razor.

Demi Minor, 27, who identifies as transgender, engaged in self-harm after he was transferred to a men's prison because he had impregnated two inmates while in a women's facility. According to his blog, Justice 4 Demi, Minor felt "hopeless" because prison officials doubted that he is transgender.

"I showed my medical records showing that I have been on hormones for years and awaiting gender affirming surgery (which they are delaying)," Minor wrote on August 18.

"I started cutting again, and with a razor I began making a [sic] incision to remove my testicle," Minor continued. "In my head, I just wanted the pain to stop. I just wanted out of this. THEY DON'T KNOW the hell that I'm going through."

More than a decade ago, Minor unleashed hell of his own. Back in 2011, he attempted to rob his former foster parents approximately nine months after he left their charge. When his former foster father, Theotis "Ted" Butts, confronted him during the break-in, Minor stabbed him to death. Butts was 69 years old.

The crime shattered Butts's family, friends, and church community.

"The young folks looked up to him," Butts's sister-in-law Joan Moore said. "I have a son who is 32 years old who really looked up to him, and he was just devastated."

Butts and his wife, Wanda Broach-Butts, had fostered seven boys total, all of whom went on to live ordinary, healthy lives, according to Broach-Butts. All except Minor.

"Ted and Wanda, unfortunately, maybe extended themselves beyond what they should have," Butts's brother-in-law Mark Broach said, "because they saw something in [Minor]."

Minor pled guilty to first-degree manslaughter and was sentenced to 30 years in prison. He was also given a 10-year concurrent sentence for an unrelated carjacking.

In 2020, Minor began to identify as trans and was removed from a men's prison into Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women in Union Township, New Jersey. Last year, Edna began accepting male inmates who identify as transgender. It currently houses 27 transgender prisoners.

During his stay in Edna, Minor impregnated two fellow prisoners, one of whom is also a convicted killer. Latonia Bellamy, 31, was convicted of double murder for the deaths of engaged couple Nia Haqq and Michael Muchioki back in 2010. Bellamy was just 19 at the time. She is expected to give birth to Minor's child this fall.

Minor, born Demetrius Minor, may have made a veiled reference in his blog post to his sexual relationship with Bellamy and another unnamed inmate, who reportedly elected to abort the child.

"I went through many depressive nights, and often wanted to be loved," Minor said. "I simply never knew that it could have such devastating consequences."

Bellamy wrote on the blog: "We found love in a hopeless place."

After the pregnancies were discovered in June, Minor was moved to Garden State Youth Correctional Facility, where he lives with male inmates.

His former foster mother, Broach-Butts, denies that Minor is transgender and has adamantly advocated to keep him housed in a men's facility.

"I think all this about him being transgender is a ploy," Broach-Butts told the New York Post. "He’s manipulating people to get a better situation for himself and to get attention. He’s learned the language to use. He’s dangerous and he’s a psychopath."

Placing him with women is "not a good idea," she said, "especially for the female inmates."

Minor's attorney disagrees.

"[Minor's] a force to be reckoned with, a triumph,” said attorney Derek Demeri, an advocate for the LGBTQ community. "I admire [Minor's] ability to navigate the system. [Minor's] pretty level-headed and has risen above a lot."

Trans woman moved from women only prison after impregnating 2 inmates complains new facility is 'hell'

A transgender inmate has been moved to a new facility after impregnating two women while incarcerated at a New Jersey women’s prison, according to a local report.

Demi Minor, who is serving a 30-year sentence for manslaughter, was transferred from Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women to a prison for young adults last month after two women in the facility became pregnant from “consensual sexual relationships with another incarcerated person,” according to the DOC’s external affairs executive director Dan Sperrazza.

Minor was one of at least 27 prisoners who identify as transgender housed at the women only prison before being transferred to the Garden State Youth Correctional Facility — and she's not happy at all about the "psychological damage" caused by the move.

On the Justice 4 Demi website, Demi wrote about her terrible experience of "being forced to live in a male prison" where she "was called he and him well over 30 times."

"This is the hell that NJDOC wants to put me through, this is my punishment for what occurs over 2 months ago, they have violated my right to be safe and free from sexual harassment," Demi complained. "While living here at GYSC, I have found my self under attack by young inmates who are immature and just plain ignorant towards a person like me. On Saturday I was in medication line when a inmate cut in front of me, and said “I am not standing behind no fag” the inmate than spit directly in my direction, I came back and washed my clothing’s knowing deep down, that I can not and will not live like this!! I don’t think DOC realizes the psychological damage that has been done from moving me out of a womens prison to a male facility, its harsh and, I don’t know what its like to live as a man, and In refuse to ever revert back to such habits or behavior."

Demi said she was placed on suicide watch “due to the fact that [she] had hung [herself] in the van” but "was placed in a dark cell within Detention housing, as inmates who are on watch are placed in the detention unit and not the infirmary!"

She also claimed guards denied her request to be strip-searched by a female officer, saying “everyone here is man including you.”

"The fact that this prison does not have air [conditioning], does not have cable, does not allow video visits, does not have an[y] LGBT groups is mind blowing, yet they said that I am here for safety no please understand that I am here for punishment, just the sad part is this punishment may kill me. Mentally I have not been myself and I am losing my essence. The Demi, who wants to wear make-up and hangout with her friends is not permitted here. They have said that I can have my make-up but the truth is we know its a death wish, its literally going to cause more harassment," Demi wrote.

A lot of people reacted to Demi's story with what might have been considered rationality or common sense just a few years ago:

“@njdotcom It’s almost as if putting a man in a woman’s facility was a bad idea.”

But these days, we seem to live in a society that is devoid of common sense. Case in point, just last week Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) was accused of inciting violence against transgender people because he doesn't think men can get pregnant.

Also, transgender swimmer Lia Thomas was nominated for the 2022 NCAA Woman of the Year award. Singer Macy Gray apologized to the outrage mob for daring to define a woman during an interview with Piers Morgan. And BlazeTV's Dave Rubin of "The Rubin Report" was suspended from Twitter after tweeting about Dr. Jordan Peterson's suspension from Twitter for using transgender actor Elliot Page's former name: Ellen Page.

Oh, and apparently teachers are now coming out as trans to their students, some as young as pre-school age, because providing this information will really help with the child's learning experience — right?

Biological male inmate housed at all-women's facility may become first to undergo sex-change surgery in prison

A biological male inmate currently being held inside an all-women's prison in North Texas may soon become the first person in the U.S. to undergo a sex-change operation behind bars.

What are the details?

Cristina Nichole Iglesias, 47 — who is set to finish out a 20-year prison term in December 2022 for threatening to use a weapon of mass destruction against the U.K. government — claims to suffer from "severe" gender dysphoria, a condition in which people feel as though their biological sex does not match their gender identity.

After lodging repeated complaints for years of sexual abuse from fellow prisoners on account of transgender identity, Iglesias was eventually awarded transfer to an all-women's facility in Texas in May 2021. But the change of scenery allegedly hasn't been enough to alleviate the stress of the condition.

Now, with Iglesias' release quickly approaching, the inmate is demanding that the federal prison system approve a sex-change operation, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

Iglesias first launched the petition to the Federal Bureau of Prisons to approve the surgery in 2016, but it was unsuccessful. However, late last month, U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of Illinois Nancy J. Rosenstengel ordered bureau officials to re-evaluate the matter before Jan. 24 and strongly urged them to schedule the surgery.

In her order, Rosenstengel, an appointee of former President Barack Obama, wrote, "Iglesias suffers daily and is at risk of self-mutilation and suicide" and is “running out of time.”

She added, “There is an inadequate remedy at law, as money will not make Iglesias whole" and argued that without surgery, Iglesias is "at risk for suicide" and "will continue to deteriorate" psychologically.

The Sun-Times noted that in legal complaints, Iglesias described male genitals as a “malignant tumor” that needed to be removed.

What else?

In a statement issued last week, Iglesias said, “I am very excited that the court has intervened on my behalf; without that happening, I would continue to fall through the cracks and BOP would ignore my need for gender-affirming surgery, which I’ve been fighting to get for decades. I am happy to have had the chance to tell my story and am hopeful that other transgender people will benefit from my case.”

Iglesias is being represented by the American Civil Liberties Union of Illinois in the legal battle.

"Cristina has fought for years to get the treatment the Constitution requires," said John Knight, Iglesias' attorney and representative of the ACLU of Illinois, in a statement. "The Court's order removes the unnecessary hurdles and delays BOP has repeatedly constructed to prevent her from getting the care that she urgently needs."

Knight added, “We hope that the order directing BOP to move forward will result in medically necessary and long overdue healthcare for Cristina — and, in time, for the many other transgender people in BOP’s custody who have also been denied surgery and other much-needed gender-affirming care,”

The ACLU estimates that roughly 1,200 transgender prisoners are currently in federal custody, none of whom have been approved for a sex-change operation. Iglesias has received hormone therapy treatments since 2015 after being granted approval by the prison bureau.
