Texas Democratic Convention featured speaker is 'big t**s' drag queen story hour performer pushing hormone blockers to trans youth

The Texas Democratic Convention was held in El Paso and ended on Saturday. The convention featured speakers such as transgender activist Charlotte Clymer, gun control activist David Hogg, and "full-time" drag queen Brigitte Bandit.

Bandit – who hosts a drag show titled "Big T**s Bigger Dreams" and promotes the "Big D***s Bigger Dreams" drag show – declared to have "worked with children for over a decade" at the Texas Democratic Convention.

Bandit – who regularly posts sexually explicit photos on Instagramhas hosted several drag queen story hours for children, read to kids at a face-painting drag story hour with arts and crafts at the so-called all-ages "Family Dragtivity Day" in Austin, and is seen on video performing a show in front of several very young children.

Bandit argued that children are safer at a drag queen story hour than at their own schools.

Bandit – a biological male – spoke about the necessity for hormone blockers for trans youth at the three-day convention.

"Hormone blockers that are medically necessary for more than just trans youth," Bandit said. "Gender-affirming care is life-saving. We have a duty to protect our most marginalized communities. Trans kids deserve to grow into healthy adults."

Bandit concluded, "Free Palestine, long live Texas drag, protect trans kids, and happy Pride Month, everybody."

Bandit sued the state over Texas Senate Bill 12, legislation attempting to protect children from sexually oriented performances on public property. The bill was ultimately shot down by a federal judge in September and deemed to be "unconstitutionally overbroad and vague," according to the Texas Tribune.

Bandit reacted to the bill's demise by leading the crowd at a drag queen showcase in a chant against Republicans: "F*** Ted Cruz! F*** Greg Abbott! Trans Texans belong here! Drag queens belong here!"

In a 2023 profile by the Austin Chronicle, Bandit told the outlet, "I remember as a kid really struggling to learn the gender binary. I really struggled with understanding, like, okay, who's a boy and who's a girl? I remember the very first time I saw a butch lesbian – it blew my mind, it blew my mind! I think I've always understood that gender is something that's taught."

Bandit told the outlet about working with children since the age of 15.

"I've just been around kids in different ways throughout my life. It's comfortable for me. It's natural. I've always liked it," Bandit said.

Bandit's first performed in a drag show at age 26.

Bandit wears a breastplate for the onstage identity, and stated, "I have these big fake t***ies and I do outrageous stuff – just campy, goofy, big, colorful s**t."

'Pregnancy prevention program for transgender boys': HHS grants $700K to sex ed for 'gender-diverse youth'

The Department of Health and Human Services granted nearly $700,000 in taxpayer funds to pregnancy prevention programs for young girls who say they are boys, with the program claiming that "heteronormative" sexual education is not applicable to them.

The HHS awarded precisely $698,736 to the Center for Innovative Public Health Research, a nonprofit that seeks to create "an inclusive teen pregnancy program for transgender boys."

The grant, which began in September 2023 and will conclude at the end of June 2027, was described as "#TranscendentHealth," an "lgb+ inclusive teen pregnancy prevention program for transgender boys - youth who are assigned female at birth (afab) and identify as transgender (e.G., as non-binary or as trans boys), not as girls."

The justification for the program is that typical sexual education is not "salient or applicable" to "gender-diverse youth." The document described typical sex-ed as "cisgender" and "heteronormative."

It continued to claim that young girls who identify as boys "may be" less likely to use condoms when having sex with "people with penises."

"Health inequity must be addressed," the document stated.

The grant will help fund a a program called "Girl2Girl," which is a "text messaging based sexual health program designed for cisgender sexual minority girls 14-18 years of age."

The Center for Innovative Public Health Research stated that "sexual minority girls are more likely than heterosexual girls to be pregnant during adolescence."

The organization planned to acquire ongoing feedback from young girls who are gender-confused and conduct focus groups to "give voice to the contexts that affect sexual decision making of afab trans-identified youth."

Then, the program would create "content advisory teams" to develop learning tools for the identified group.

According to the Daily Wire, the Center for Innovative Public Health Research will also receive a total of $1.4 million in taxpayer funding from the HHS to develop an "HIV prevention program for trans girls."

The document promised to harness "the power of technology" to develop the program and estimated that one out of every five "transgender girls" (males) may be HIV-positive.

"Messaging will be gender affirming" and will "reduce internalized transphobia," the grant description added.

WATCH Tucker Carlson’s head explode when expert tells him the CAUSE of the trans boom. (Hint: It all started with Obama.)

While leftists love to argue that transgenderism has been around since the dawn of man, the truth is, it’s a new concept – a very new concept that's gained incredible momentum over the last decade.

Many wonder where the trans boom originated and why it’s become so trendy in recent years.

Well, looks like we may just have an answer.

Dave Rubin plays a clip of a recent episode of “Tucker on X” in which the former Fox News anchor met with policy expert and documentarian Chris Moritz to discuss this very subject.

“In terms of the pace of growth for, let's say, clinics serving pediatric patients on gender issues, in the last 15 years in the United States, we had zero now to over a 100 clinics for kids,” he told Tucker.

“Why?” asked Tucker, whose brow furrowed in growing concern.

“It’s a very complicated question,” answered Chris, “and there's a lot of different reasons why.”

“I would say that the biggest single policy catalyst for this explosion is Obamacare. When ObamaCare was enacted in 2010,” a provision was “very quietly … written into the law,” Chris explained.

Due to this fine-print policy, “insurance companies were mandated to provide coverage for what is deemed to be medically necessary gender affirming care,” and “as a result of that, between 2010 and 2016, there was a 50% increase in sex reassignment surgeries, a 25% increase in insurance coverage for transgender individuals, and then at the very end of the Obama administration … an additional amendment to the Affordable Care Act was made whereby gender identity could no longer be a basis for denial of coverage by private insurance companies.”

“As a result of that, the next year from 2016 to 2017, there was a 150% increase in sex reassignment surgeries in the United States.”

At this, Tucker’s expression goes from deeply concerned to downright horrified. To hear their conversation, watch the clip below.

Parents SUE SCHOOL over 'trans' indoctrination

Woke ideology has been infiltrating the American educational system, and parents are getting fed up.

And Lauren Chen is one of those parents.

“There are people out there, activists who are determined to groom your children to embrace a dangerous and hedonistic lifestyle because it furthers their own ideology,” she says.

Chen reports that in a very shocking story out of Colorado, teachers were secretly grooming students into embracing transgenderism.

This happened to the point to where one of those students attempted suicide.

Now, parents at the school are suing.

A Daily Mail headline concerning the matter reads, “Parents are suing over claims teachers encouraged their sixth-grade daughters to join LGBTQ club but to keep it a secret: Girls were told ‘if they are not happy in their bodies they are transgender.’”

“There is absolutely no reason,” Chen says, “why a school should have an LGBTQ club in the first place. But not only do these clubs exist, but they’re actually being held in secret with parents actively being sidelined in their own children’s development because these teachers — they’re activists — and they think they know better than you.”

America First Policy Institute and Illumine Legal filed the lawsuit against Poudre School District on behalf of the parents, whose sixth-grade daughters attended Wellington Middle-High School.

According to reports, the students who attended the club were encouraged to hide any discussions on polyamory, puberty blockers, transgenderism, gender identity, sexuality, suicide, and name and pronoun changes from their parents.

Chen believes this is the reason why school choice is so important.

“If you’re not able to homeschool, which would be preferable,” she explains, “you have to know that sending your kids to these public schools — you could be the most conservative, God-fearing family on Earth, but if your child is spending what, 9:00-3:00 or 8:00-3:00 every single day surrounded by these leftist activists, you can bet your bottom dollar they are absorbing the things that they are being taught.”

In The Transgender Culture War, Leftists Fired The First Shot

Conservatives are simply trying to perform triage and hold the fort.

Telling Kids To Hate Their Biology Might Be What’s Actually Killing Them

Might the increase in 'gender dysphoria' among American youth be related to broader societal dysphoria felt by an entire generation of kids?

Report: Recent years see a sharp rise in youth transgenderism

The number of American youth who identify as transgender has almost doubled in recent years.

A new report conducted by the UCLA Williams Institute on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Law and Public Policy relied on government health surveys conducted from 2017 to 2020, and estimated that 1.4% percent of 13- to 17-year-olds and 1.3% of 18- to 24-year-olds identified as transgender whereas 0.5 percent of all adults identify as such.

The Williams Institute’s data concluded that 18% of all people who identify as transgender are between the ages of 13 and 17-years-old, and there are 1.6 million people aged 13 and up in the U.S. who identify as transgender.

There are roughly 700,000 people between the ages of 13- and 24-years-old who identify as transgender. In the American South, there are 102,200 transgender youth between the ages of 13- and 17- years old; in the Midwest, there are 54,500; in the North East, there are 61,700; and in the American West, including Alaska and Hawaii, there are 81,700.

The New York Times reported that this new data from the Williams Institute’s previous report in 2017 marks a significant rise specifically in youth transgenderism.

Experts on transgender youth believe that children now have the advanced language skills and capacity for social acceptance that emboldens them to explore their gender identities whereas older adults may feel more constrained.

Dr. Angela Geopferd, the self-identifying nonbinary medical director of the Gender Health Program at Children’s Minnesota hospital, indicated that exploring gender identity is merely an aspect of being a young person.

She said, “It’s developmentally appropriate for teenagers to explore all facets of their identity — that is what teenagers do. And, generationally, gender has become a part of someone’s identity that is more socially acceptable to explore.”

The nonbinary children’s physician said that young people exploring their gender identities is a phenomenon for which society must “make space.”

Geopferd said, “We as a culture just need to lean into the fact that there is gender diversity among us, and that it doesn’t mean that we need to treat it medically in all cases, but it does mean that we as a society need to make space for that.”

Data from the Williams Institute indicates that young people account for a disproportionately large share of the American transgender population while older adults had a “disproportionately small” share.

Only 10% of the transgender population consists of people over the age of 65.

A church in Florida held an LGBTQ+ conference for children 12 to 18

A church in Naples, Florida hosted an LGBTQ+ conference for children and young adults aged 12 to 18.

The event was held at the Naples United Church of Christ and was put on by the Collier County chapter of GLSEN. GLSEN is a national nonprofit organization that, according to its website, “was founded by a group of teachers in 1990” so that educators could “play key roles in creating affirming learning environments for LGBTQ youth.”

The organization focuses on “activating supportive educators” and conducts “extensive and original research to inform our evidence-based solutions for K-12 education.” According to its website, the group will “advise on, advocate for, and research comprehensive policies designed to protect LGBTQ students as well as students of marginalized identities.”

The conference’s Eventbrite page proclaimed that the event was a “one-day conference” that “will provide students with the opportunity to engage in LGBTQ-related issues facing them today while empowering them to be confident in all their identities.”

The church’s conference held a series of seminars featuring topics like “Forbidden Queer Literature,” “Political Action & Advocacy,” and “Inclusive Sex Education.”

GLSEN also hosted a “drag show from some of our local drag queens” and a panel discussion “with former high school students talking about life in the LGBTQ community after high school.”

The Post Millennial reported that there was some local concern about the event, especially since it appeared that many children attending the conference would be bused in directly from school without their parent’s knowledge.

According to a spokesperson for the local school district, Collier County Public Schools (CCPS), the school’s facilities may not be used as “transit points for the pickup and drop-off of students for this event.”

Florida’s Voice reported that the conference’s young attendees were asked to enter their pronouns and provide other personal information prior to registering for the event.

The spokesperson said, “The District was never informed nor contacted about this event. CCPS is not a sponsor of the event, which is being held at a private facility. CCPS also neither authorized nor approved the transportation of CCPS students to and from district school sites by the event organizers. Any inference to the contrary is fully rejected by CCPS.”

The spokesperson continued, “To this end, CCPS has spoken with the event organizer and explained that the information on the registration form, and any associated flyer must be immediately corrected to reflect that CCPS is not a co-sponsor nor will it allow its school sites to be used as transit points for the pickup and drop-off of students for this event.”

North Dakota's Republican governor vetoes transgender sports bill

The Republican governor of North Dakota on Wednesday vetoed a bill that would bar boy transgender athletes from playing on K-12 girls' sports teams, saying a state association that regulates high school activities is the best body to deal with transgender issues.

The bill, House Bill 1298, would have prohibited public elementary and secondary schools from "knowingly" allowing a student of the opposite sex to participate in a school-sponsored athletic team that is exclusively for females or exclusively for males. "Sex" is defined as "an individual's biological sex and is based solely on an individual's reproductive biology and genetics at birth." The bill has an exemption that would allow girls to play on boys' sports teams.

The bill also included an optional 2021-22 study to analyze the impact of these policies on student athletic events and directed findings from that study to be reported to the 2023 legislature.

The North Dakota bill is similar to bills introduced in 31 other states to prohibit transgender athletes from playing on sports teams that match their self-proclaimed gender. Arkansas, Mississippi, and Tennessee have signed those bills into law. Supporters of these bills say they protect fairness in women's sports by preventing males from competition against girls. Critics and transgender advocates say the legislation discriminates against trans youth.

In his veto message, North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum (R) said there is no evidence to suggest girls' sports are in "immediate danger" of becoming unfair and asserted the bill "would unnecessarily inject the state into a local issue by creating a ban with myriad unforeseen consequences."

"To date there has not been a single recorded incident of a transgender girl attempting to play on a North Dakota girls' team," the governor wrote. He noted that the North Dakota High School Activities Association "already has regulations in place for participation in sex-separated interscholastic contests by transgender athletes."

"These regulations require transgender girls to undergo testosterone suppression treatment for gender transition for a full calendar year before they are eligible to compete in girls' sports," the governor said.

"The most responsive sports governance is the organization closest to the teams and athletes they govern. If a question should arise related to a transgender student and athletic competition, the NDHSAA, parents, child, their health care provider, their school and their coaches are in the best position to manage that unique situation, especially given the child's right to privacy."

The bill now heads back to the state House. According to KXMB-TV reporter Maddie Biertempfel, Republicans have enough votes to overturn the governor's veto in the House but not in the state Senate.

Would take 2/3 of both chambers to override HB 1298, which the House has but the Senate does not. https://t.co/W9ZYtVWtDt

Opponents of the bill including the North Dakota Human Rights Coalition and Tri-State Transgender issued a statement Wednesday applauding Burgum's veto.

"Governor Burgum's veto sends a loud message to other lawmakers across the country considering similar legislation: Stop the attacks on transgender youth. North Dakotans should be outraged that transgender youth, who already face higher levels of discrimination, were chosen to be the target of this hateful legislation," Tri-State Transgender president Katrina Koesterman said.

"We thank Governor Burgum for shutting down this harmful bill and for standing up to out-of-touch politicians on the fringe who have long histories of attacking North Dakota's LGBTQ+ community," Brandi Hardy, legislative coordinator of North Dakota Human Rights Coalition, added.

The North Dakota High School Activities Association told the Bismark Tribune it opposed the bill. The body's regulations on transgender athletes state that any transgender student who is not taking cross-sex hormones may play on sports teams according to that student's sex at birth.

However, a student transitioning from male to female may play on girls' sports teams if he has been taking testosterone suppressive hormones for at least one calendar year. A transgender athlete transitioning from female to male who is taking testosterone supplements may play on boys' sports teams but not on girls' teams under the current regulations.

Gov. Burgum also vetoed legislation that would prohibit state mask mandates, saying that "to strip future governors and their state health officers of any low-cost tool that might be used to save lives and livelihoods in a future pandemic or other emergency would be both irresponsible and an unnecessary risk to future public health and well-being of North Dakota citizens."
