Stelter’s amnesia … Before Donald Trump’s doctor gave him a clean bill of health, you may remember that CNN and in particular media critic/cheerleader Brian Stelter frequently called into question Donald Trump’s “mental fitness” to be president. That’s why it was completely surprising when Stelter tweeted:
Fox News quoted a guy who claimed that I'm "obsessed with claiming Trump is mentally ill and talking about 'Trump's removal under the 25th Amendment.'" So… I checked. pic.twitter.com/tXZTE9tefU

The images attached were of Stelter searching for him using the words “mentally ill” and “25th amendment” and coming up blank. That’s because Stelter used the word “fitness” over and over again. Not “mentally ill.” For example:
I could go on, and on, and on. Those are just a few of the many times that Stelter questioned the “mental fitness” of Donald Trump to be president. Maybe Stelter has some amnesia.
Also Stelter … After what CRTV host Steve Deace termed “the worst weekend in American media,” Ben Domenech wrote at The Federalist: “Dear America: Your news media absolutely hates you.” Sometimes truth hurts. Domenech wrote about how even after being called out, the media continued to prop up North Korea’s propaganda-fueled weekend. Well, that was just too much for Stelter, who tweeted:

Domenech used to work for the Washington Post. I’m sure he knows a lot of journalists. Oh, and he’s married to Meghan McCain, who works on the ABC News show “The View.” Yes, the media was absolutely that far out of line this past weekend.

CNN layoffs … A couple of weeks ago, I told you about CNN parting ways with YouTube star Casey Neistat and shuttering the CNN division that Neistat started as a separate company, Beme. That was just the beginning of CNN’s re-evaluation of its digital strategy. Yesterday CNN announced that it would lay off up to 50 employees in the restructuring efforts. As media changes and companies shift priorities, expect to see more of that in the future. While your first instinct may be to cheer, remember that this doesn’t mean that CNN is hurting, just reprioritizing, and sadly, there are real people, with families, attached to those layoffs.
Riveting investigation … Have you been wondering Why does Donald Trump Capitalize certain words in his tweets Randomly? If that has been keeping you up all night, well, CNN’s Chris Cillizza has the in-depth can’t-miss investigation you crave. Yep, Cillizza got to the bottom of it with his hard-hitting piece: “Donald Trump’s super weird capitalization habits: An investigation.” Not content to rest on this insightful piece of journalism, Cillizza also was busy making up news about people who left the “Trump White House.” The Daily Caller has the details on just how bad this was.
Two hours later you’ll be hungry again … The life of a TV graphic artist can be tough. For instance, take what happened at WLS, the ABC affiliate in Chicago. Instead of the Pyeongchang Olympics, the graphics team called them the P.F. Chang Olympics, and the graphic made it onto the air. Sometimes you just wake up on the wrong side of the bed. The station has apologized. P.F. Chang’s, of course, is a national Chinese restaurant chain. The poor graphic artist probably got hungry two hours after watching the Olympics and was confused.
Unlike Brian Stelter, I don’t have full-blown amnesia. But I do sometimes forget things. Have I recently asked you to help me increase the number of people who get WTF MSM!? in their email inboxes daily? I can’t quite remember. Either way, could you invite your friends to join the fun by sending them over to the WTF MSM!? email signup page? Then send me an email at [email protected] to share the good news of how many more people you’ve invited to get the email. As always, feel free to tell me anything questionable you see the media do. Together, we can fight back.
