As leftists pile on Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos for being unable to answer a question during an interview on “60 minutes,” CNN’s token “Republican strategist” Ana Navarro is right there with them, ripping DeVos and slamming Sarah Palin while she’s at it.
I had not seen a TV interview so cringe-inducing, since Sarah Palin saw Russia from her backyard.
I mean really folks, it’s not like DeVos was being asked to explain the Pythagorean Theorem. https://t.co/9OOTvgZ7xx

Sarah Palin never said she could see “Russia from her backyard.” She also never said she could see “Russia from my house.” That was a joke by Tina Fey, who played Palin in a parody on “Saturday Night Live.” And Navarro knows better. She served as the national co-chair of the Hispanic Advisory Council for John McCain’s presidential campaign in 2008. She knows what was parody and what was an actual statement by McCain’s running mate. But a good smear of a conservative is too good to pass up.
Now why would she do that? There is no point in smearing Sarah Palin to criticize Betsy DeVos. Navarro isn’t advancing any constructive criticism of the secretary of education. She’s not helping any conservative, or even any Republican cause. But Navarro’s tweet scores points with … progressives.
And that’s what’s going on here. Navarro is fishing for likes and retweets so she can keep her cushy job at CNN by attacking the Trump administration. This is her purpose. Navarro exists as a mouthpiece with an “R” next to her name to bash Trump and his surrogates. She risks nothing on CNN. She takes no contrarian stance to the progressive audience or the liberal hosts. She doesn’t defend conservatism. She doesn’t advocate for the Republican party. She says nothing constructive.
Navarro is the worst sort of empty-calorie pop pundit — a political hack with no principles, no honor, and no brain, useful only to the progressive top brass at CNN, who want to fuel their ratings with outrage and dumbassery.
