President Trump called Obamacare “dead” earlier this week, but now some in Washington – including some Republicans – are trying to keep it in the land of the living.
A bipartisan group of senators is pushing forward with a resurrected plan to prop up Obamacare following the GOP’s repeated failures to repeal the 2010 law.
The effort originally fell apart during the Senate debate about the relief bill put forward by Sens. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., and Bill Cassidy, R-La. But it’s back.
The bill’s list of co-sponsors boasts 24 names, suggesting that it could pass if approved to be brought to the floor by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and supported by the entire Democrat conference.
But here’s the big question: If the GOP’s end goal is to kill Obamacare, why in the world would any of them follow Obama’s lead to let it roam the earth and prey on the tax dollars of the living?
