Republican state senator joins Democrats to kill bill that would have prohibited performing gender transitions on minors



Louisiana state Sen. Fred Mills joined with Democrats to kill a bill that would have prohibited health care professionals from providing gender transition measures, such as hormones, puberty blockers, and surgeries, to minors.

A state Senate committee reportedly voted 5-4 to kill the measure, with Mills siding with Democrats in the vote.

Reports quoted the politician saying that he believes a choice should be made by a patient and a doctor.

Mills, who was previously a Democrat before becoming a Republican, is a pharmacy owner.

"Fred Mills has sided with the butchers and groomers. He will regret it. This is the biggest mistake of his political career, and also the end of his career. He's going to be infamous and disgraced by his own base. We'll make sure of that," conservative commentator Matt Walsh of the Daily Wire tweeted.

"Whoever mans the phones in the Fred Mills office is gonna have a LONG night when The Jesse Kelly Show hits the air," conservative figure Jesse Kelly tweeted, sharing a phone number and email address for people who want to contact the lawmaker.

Mills, who has served in the state Senate for more than a decade, is not eligible to seek re-election due to term limits.

While conservatives were outraged that Mills helped put the kibosh on the bill, the ACLU of Louisiana cheered the demise of the measure, describing it as a "dangerous bill that targeted transgender children and stripped rights from their parents."

Elon Musk dips his toe into 'Dilbert' cartoonist controversy, says US media is 'racist against whites & Asians'



South African billionaire Elon Musk embroiled himself Sunday in the controversy surrounding "Dilbert" cartoonist Scott Adams' recent racially charged remarks and resultant cancellation, suggesting that the same media outfits now crying racism are hardly guiltless, having themselves long peddled division in America.

What is the background?

A host of newspapers across the United States — including USA Today, the Washington Post, and the New York Times — have dropped Adams' long-running comic strip, suggesting that his remarks on a Feb. 22 episode of the YouTube show "Real Coffee with Scott Adams" were hateful and "discriminatory."

TheBlaze previously reported that Adams had cited videos of black people beating white people and a Rasmussen poll indicating that only 53% of black respondents agreed with the statement, "It's OK to be white."

"That's a hate group and I don't want to have anything to do with them," said Adams. "And I would say, based on the current way things are going, the best advice I would give to white people is to get the hell away from black people."

"Just get the f*** away," Adams emphasized, adding, "Wherever you have to go, just get away. Because there's no fixing this. This can't be fixed, right. ... I'm gonna back off from being helpful to black America, because it doesn't seem like it pays off. I've been doing it all my life, and the only outcome is I get called a racist. ... It makes no sense to help black Americans if you're white. It's over. Don't even think it's worth trying. Totally not trying."

The Miami Herald reported that Adams attempted to clarify his remarks on Saturday, suggesting that he had been making a point that "everyone should be treated as an individual" without discrimination.

"But you should also avoid any group that doesn't respect you, even if there are people within the group who are fine," said Adams.

The cartoonist claimed that CNN's Don Lemon was of a similar mind, sharing a 2013 video wherein the scandal-plagued news-reader detailed five things he believed black people ought to do to "fix the problem." Among the host's suggestions were recommendations to black Americans to hold off having kids and to emulate "predominantly white neighborhoods" by picking up litter.

Adams also suggested that what he had proposed was not dissimilar from former Vice President Mike Pence's personal policy, according to which the politician would never dine alone with any woman other than his wife.

"The Mike Pence rule would say you wanna get some distance. Now is that racist? Yeah, by definition," said Adams. "But it's racist in a personal success context, which is completely allowable."

Despite his attempts at clarification, Gannett, which publishes over 100 papers in the U.S., indicated it would drop "Dilbert," reported the Daily Mail.

The Los Angeles Times, various Hearst Newspapers (e.g., the San Antonio Express-News), certain Advance Local media publications, and other outfits are similarly ditching the comic strip, which has been in circulation since 1989.

The San Antonio Express-News indicated it was curbing "Dilbert" because "of hateful and discriminatory public comments by its creator."

Chris Quinn, editor of the Plain Dealer, wrote of the decision, "This is a decision based on the principles of this news organization and the community we serve. ... We are not a home for those who espouse racism. We certainly do not want to provide them with financial support."

John Hiner, VP of content for Michigan's MLive Media, wrote Friday, "MLive has zero tolerance for racism. And we certainly will not spend our money supporting purveyors of it."

The papers doth protest too much

Following Adams' initial cancellation and in response to a comment contextualizing the cartoonist's remarks, Twitter CEO Elon Musk wrote, "The media is racist."

Musk added in a subsequent post, "For a *very* long time, US media was racist against non-white people, now they’re racist against whites & Asians. Same thing happened with elite colleges & high schools in America. Maybe they can try not being racist."

The tech magnate then concurred with Christopher Ferguson, a psychology professor at Stetson University, who tweeted, "Adams' comments weren't good. But there's an element of truth to this. ... It's complicated. Mainly we've leaned into identity with predictable results, and power today is complicated. We were on the right path with colorblindness and need to return to it."

Musk may have arrived at this opinion having glimpsed the kinds of headlines below that routinely appear in the liberal media, advancing identity politics and sifting complex issues through the singular lens of race:

Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch, suggested that the leftist media's use of "'Black' and 'White' to describe people" is evidence of a "pernicious racialism with which the South African apartheid system would be quite comfortable. #CriticalRaceTheory."

Transsexual author reportedly threatens to slit JK Rowling's throat in now-deleted tweet after penning fantasy in which 'Harry Potter' author is crushed to death



A transsexual horror author and cosignatory to the Feb. 15 letter denouncing the New York Times for its inconsistent deference to LGBT propaganda allegedly tweeted a threat to slit the throat of "Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling.

Gretchen (formerly Micah) Felker-Martin, published by a subsidiary of the book giant Macmillan and represented by Connor Goldsmith, wrote in a now-deleted tweet on Feb. 12, "If they all had one throat, man," after naming Rowling among other writers he accused of "transphobia," reported the Daily Mail.

Felker-Martin penned a work of agitprop last year, which he touted as a "depraved psychosexual horrorshow."

The book, put out by Tor Nightfire, pits two murderous men masquerading as females against real women and depicts Rowling dying a gruesome death, crushed in her home following a fire.

While the thinly veiled murder fantasy wherein protagonists hunt down feminists was celebrated by NPR, the New Yorker, Vox Media's Vulture, and other leftist outfits, Julie Bindel, co-founder of the law reform group Justice for Women, and other concerned feminists recognized it as "misogynistic bile."

Bindel additionally raised the question of where "Felker-Martin's novel stands in relation to laws on incitement to violence."

While it may be unclear whether the novel constitutes incitement, the transsexual author has a history of explicitly calling for violence off the page.

In the wake of the Dobbs ruling, which overturned Roe V. Wade, Felker-Martin tweeted a picture of communist mass murderer Vladimir Lenin's "Socialism and War" with the caption "Enough with peaceful protest," adding, "Time for kitchen knives."

Felker-Martin's recent suggestion that defenders of womanhood like Rowling are fit for slaughter came just days before he signed an open letter from the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation to the Times, which accused the paper of "editorial bias" concerning its "reporting on transgender, non-binary, and gender nonconforming people."

The letter claimed that the Times' occasional "charged language" concerning the mutilation of confused children was laden with "pseudoscience" and compared the critical discussion of "puberty blockers, hormone replacement therapy, and gender⁠-⁠affirming surgeries" to the alleged demonization of "queers through the ostensible reporting of science."

After receiving the letter, the Times' executive editor and opinion editor responded, writing, "We do not welcome, and will not tolerate, participation by Times journalists in protests organized by advocacy groups or attacks on colleagues on social media and other public forums."

The Times then published Pamela Paul's opinion piece, "In Defense of J.K. Rowling," on Jan. 16. The article called out the "noisy fringe of the internet and a number of powerful transgender rights activists and L.G.B.T.Q. lobbying groups" who have labelled Rowling a "transphobe."

Paul noted in the piece that the campaign launched against Rowling by radicals such as Felker-Martin (she does not mention him by name) "is as dangerous as it is absurd. The brutal stabbing of Salman Rushdie last summer is a forceful reminder of what can happen when writers are demonized. And in Rowling’s case, the characterization of her as a transphobe doesn’t square with her actual views."

Paul stressed that the reason why activists and men pretending to be women loathe Rowling "is straightforward: Because she has asserted the right to spaces for biological women only, such as domestic abuse shelters and sex-segregated prisons. Because she has insisted that when it comes to determining a person’s legal gender status, self-declared gender identity is insufficient. Because she has expressed skepticism about phrases like 'people who menstruate' in reference to biological women. Because she has defended herself and, far more important, supported others, including detransitioners and feminist scholars, who have come under attack from trans activists."

The New York Post noted that journalist Jesse Singal, also named in Felker-Martin's alleged death threat tweet, questioned why such violent rhetoric was still permitted on the social media platform.

Singal suggested that at "a certain point, this really does get dangerous because all it takes is for one person to take action as a result of the steady drumbeat of incitement," noting that Felker-Martin's tweet had prompted other users to discuss "revenge" and the "catharsis" of the proposed throat-slitting.

Felker-Martin has apparently been banging that drum for some time.

Singal referenced a tweet from 2019 wherein the transsexual author reportedly wrote, "Cis people, fix your hearts* or die. *Bind Jesse Singal with strong rope and bring him to the quarry at the edge of town. Give him to us alive and unspoiled. Leave, and no matter the sounds you hear, do not look back."

Singal first drew the ire of transsexual activists with his article "When Children Say They're Trans: Hormones? Surgery? The choices are fraught—and there are no easy answers," published by the Atlantic in 2018.

The journalist told the Daily Mail that Felker-Martin's continued presence on Twitter "is simply the latest proof that Twitter doesn't actually care about violent threats. How many people do you have to threaten to kill before Twitter takes your account away?"

Trump irks conservatives, could be damaging his political career by attacking DeSantis



Former President Donald Trump may be damaging himself politically by attacking Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a Republican figure who has become enormously popular on the political right.

Trump, who is widely expected to mount another White House bid, has been taking shots at the Sunshine State governor — in addition to referring to him as "Ron DeSanctimonious," Trump has threatened to dish unflattering information about DeSantis if the governor runs for president. "I think if he runs he could hurt himself very badly," Trump said, according to the Wall Street Journal. "I think the base would not like it."

DeSantis clobbered Democratic challenger Charlie Crist during Florida's gubernatorial contest. While Trump said earlier this week that he had voted for DeSantis, on Thursday, the former president issued a lengthy statement in which he targeted the Florida politician, calling him "an average REPUBLICAN Governor."

"NewsCorp, which is Fox, the Wall Street Journal, and the no longer great New York Post (bring back Col!), is all in for Governor Ron DeSanctimonious, an average REPUBLICAN Governor with great Public Relations, who didn’t have to close up his State, but did, unlike other Republican Governors, whose overall numbers for a Republican, were just average—middle of the pack—including COVID, and who has the advantage of SUNSHINE, where people from badly run States up North would go no matter who the Governor was, just like I did!" Trump wrote at the beginning of the long statement.

Some on the right took issue with Trump's rant and were critical of the former president.

'End anti-white bigotry': New ad denounces systemic racism against white people



A new ad airing in various states around the country challenges the notion that so-called "white supremacy" is the biggest threat America faces today.

The new ad was created by a group called America First Legal, an organization established by Stephen Miller, a longtime adviser to former President Donald Trump.

The ad indicates that, in the last two years, the Biden administration has imposed a racist agenda which systemically discriminates against white people based on their skin color.

"When did racism against white people become OK?" the ad opens. It then claims that Biden discriminated against white people when appropriating funds for COVID relief; that Vice President Kamala Harris called for "communities of color" to receive assistance for climate disasters ahead of their white counterparts; and that whites have faced racial discrimination in higher education, from global corporations, and from those in the health care and airline industries.

"Racism is always wrong," the ad notes at the closing. "The left’s anti-white bigotry must stop. We are all entitled to equal treatment under the law."

The ad also shows signs that read:

  • "Progressives discriminat[e] against white Americans,"
  • "Stop left-wing racism," and
  • "End anti-white bigotry."

A TV version of the ad has appeared throughout Georgia in the run-up to the midterm elections. It has also reportedly appeared in radio form in various swing states, including Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Michigan, Nevada, Tennessee, and Texas.

Since the ad first hit the airwaves, left-leaning groups have issued fact-checks attempting to demonstrate that it peddles misinformation. FactCheck.org claimed that "Harris’ words were being lifted out of context." The Root added that Biden's COVID relief policies did not discriminate against whites per se, and that the ad had "left out" key context regarding women and veterans. Politico called the ad "one of the most openly race-based spots of the cycle."

However, those on the right insist that the information in the ad is true, even if it casts doubt on prevailing narratives about white supremacy.

Townhall columnist Kurt Schlichter retweeted the ad and advised, "Vote against racist Democrats."

Miller rose to prominence during the Trump administration, advocating for strict enforcement of immigration laws and for a ban on immigrants from countries known to sponsor terrorism. Miller and the rest of America First Legal have already won a lawsuit on behalf of white restaurant owners in Texas. The group has also filed legal claims against Starbucks, some federal agencies, and several elite universities for discriminating against white people.

On its website, America First Legal claims to be "fighting back against lawless executive actions and the Radical Left."

Major podcast conference apologizes for 'harm' caused by Ben Shapiro existing in statement that must be seen to see to believed



Organizers of a podcast conference in Dallas, Texas, drew backlash Thursday after they took responsibility for "harm" caused by Daily Wire podcast host Ben Shapiro's presence at the conference.

Podcast Movement, a major annual conference for the podcast industry, issued a profuse apology on Thursday after attendees complained that Shapiro was spotted at the event near the Daily Wire booth. The Daily Wire sponsored this year's conference and Shapiro, host of the massively successful "The Ben Shapiro Show" podcast, was seen pictured walking around the expo area.

In response to the complaints received, Podcast Movement issued several tweets Thursday apologizing that Shapiro was permitted to attend the event.

The apology and the statement that Shapiro inflicted "harm" by merely existing in the same space as those who disagree with his politics drew backlash from conservatives and other content creators. Shapiro himself mocked Podcast Movement and retweeted many of the replies from people floored by the absurdity of the situation.

George Soros refuses to accept responsibility for crime waves in cities controlled by Democrats



On July 31, billionaire and leftwing philanthropist George Soros penned an opinion piece for the Wall Street Journal wherein he defended his support for “reform prosecutors.” In the piece, he rejected the suggestion that the liberal district attorneys, prosecutors, and politicians he has financially backed — along with their unifying agenda — are responsible for the recent increase in crime.

Soros' defense comes in response to criticism by "politicians and pundits," but likely also to the recent June 2022 report issued by the non-profit Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund (LELDF).

The LELDF report detailed the impact made by the 75 Soros-backed "social justice prosecutors" who now represent "1 in 5 Americans or more than 72 million people," alleging that "in 2021, more than 40% (9,000+) of the approximately 22,500 homicides in the US occurred in areas overseen by these DAs." It further alleged that "these prosecutors' charging and plea deal decisions, sentencing recommendations, and trial strategies" have been a major part of the perpetuation of and rise in crime in the cities they oversee.

Confronted with such claims about the fallout that his investments have produced, Soros suggested that the agenda advanced by the “reform-minded prosecutors and other law-enforcement officials” whom he financially backs is both “popular” and “effective.”

The increasing crime rates in Democrat-controlled cities are to blame, argues Soros, on “a disturbing rise in mental illness among young people ... a pullback in policing in the wake of public criminal justice reform protests, and increases in gun trafficking.”

Among the “reform-minded” individuals supported by Soros are:

  • L.A. District Attorney George Gascon, given $4.7 million for his election campaign in 2020 via Soros' California Justice and Safety PAC;
  • Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner, given $1.3 million via Soros' Color of Change;
  • Cook County, Illinois state's attorney Kim Foxx, who received $2 million for her campaign in 2020 and $708,000;
  • Baltimore state's attorney Marilyn Mosby; and
  • Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who allegedly received $1,070,000 in 2021 through two of Soros' PACs.
In their respective cities, crime is in fact on the rise.
Fox News recently reported that Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and New York City were on their ways to breaking 2021 levels of violent crime by midyear.
Compared with 2021, this year violent crime has increased by: 25.8% under Bragg; 6.1% under Mosby; 7% under Krasner; and 8.6% under Gascon. Kim Foxx's Cook County had 1,002 gun-related homicides in 2021 alone.
Soros' displacement of blame has not been well-received online.

According to Open Secrets, George Soros, whose worth has been estimated by Forbes to be $8.6 billion, is the “top individual super PAC donor for the 2022 midterm election,” having contributed “$126 million of the $155 million angel donors have given to liberal super PACs so far this election cycle.”

White House tries to deny ever encouraging protests at justices’ homes — but the internet is FOREVER



A man was arrested near the home of Brett Kavanaugh on Wednesday morning after allegedly threatening to kill the Supreme Court Justice. SCOTUS justices — especially the conservatives ones — have faced intense backlash since the alleged Roe v. Wade decision was leaked, and the left’s rhetoric against those justices hasn't helped. In fact, that rhetoric may be directly responsible for terrifying events like this one.

For example, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer threatened Kavanaugh in March 2020, saying he would “pay the price” if he didn’t vote to uphold Roe v. Wade.

Then there was former White House press secretary Jen Psaki who made it clear that protests at the homes of Supreme Court justices were not condemned by the Biden White House amid outrage following the leaked draft decision regarding Roe v. Wade. Trump press secretary Kayleigh McEnany took to Twitter to remind us of the president's position on protests outside of judges’ homes.

\u201cIn light of the Kavanaugh news, first question to the White House today should be:\n\n\u201cDoes President Biden stand by this?\u201d\n\nPSAKI: \u201cAnd we certainly continue to encourage that outside of judges\u2019 homes and that\u2019s the president\u2019s position.\u201d\n\u201d

Here's the former press secretary's statement:

“I know that there’s an outrage right now, I guess, about protests that have been peaceful to date, and we certainly do continue to encourage that, outside judges’ homes, and that’s the president’s position.”

Of course, the Biden White House press office was quick with some creative damage control. In this case, White House Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates used strategically placed em-dashes and highlighting to suggest that Psaki didn't say what Psaki clearly said:

Former child star Hilary Duff is "approaching her life and career on her own terms" by posing nude for Women’s Health magazine. The 34-year-old mother of three said she's finally at "a place of being peaceful" with her body after years of trying to live up to Hollywood's beauty standards.

Duff shared her struggles with accepting her body image as a young actress over the years on Disney's "Lizzie McGuire" and later "How I met Your Father." She described feeling "horrifying" pressure that eventually led to a yearlong eating disorder when she was 17.

“I’m proud of my body. I’m proud that it’s produced three children for me. I’ve gotten to a place of being peaceful with the changes my body has gone through. I also want people to know a makeup artist was there putting glow all over my body and someone put me in the most flattering position,” Duff told the magazine.
