VIDEO: Mob of 80 armed looters block off streets, ransack California Nordstrom in brazen siege

A roving band comprised of at least 80 masked and armed robbery suspects reportedly converged on a California Nordstrom department store on Saturday night just before closing time.

What are the details?

The Walnut Creek Police Department say that the robbery was over in just minutes after at least 25 cars stopped and blocked traffic outside of the location as suspects clad in ski masks and armed with crowbars and more emptied out of the waiting vehicles and into the store.

Walnut Creek, California, is about 25 miles outside San Francisco.

In a Sunday press release, a spokesperson for the department said, "Nordstrom employees began calling 911 when approximately 80 people entered the store and immediately began stealing merchandise."

The department added that the incident is being considered "organized theft," and what was "clearly a planned event" by a "criminal mob."

At least one employee was pepper-sprayed during the incident, and at least two were physically assaulted.

Witnesses said that the mob stole goods, smashed shelves, and fled to their vehicles while carrying both bags and boxes of stolen merchandise.

Just three people were arrested on robbery and weapons charges in connection with the incident.

According to USA Today, one witness said, "There was a mob of people. The police were flying in. It was like a scene out of a movie. It was insane."

NBC reporter Jodi Hernandez captured some of the melee on camera, which sees suspects rushing into the store.

She tweeted the video and captioned it, “About 25 cars just blocked the street and rushed into the Walnut Creek Nordstrom making off with goods before getting in cars and speeding away. At least two people arrested at gunpoint."

Anything else to know about this?

"Walnut Creek Police investigators are in the process of reviewing surveillance footage to attempt to identify other suspects responsible for this brazen act," the department added in its statement according to the Associated Press.

It remains unclear at the time of this reporting how much merchandise was taken from the Walnut Creek Nordstrom location, and a spokesperson for the store chain has yet to issue a public statement on the matter.

A report from KPIX-TV warned that similar group activity may be planned for the future.

A spokesperson for the the Walnut Creek Police Department on Sunday said that the department continues to actively monitor intelligence that "indicates the group of thieves who stole from the Broadway Plaza Nordstrom" are "considering similar activity later today."

“This has not been confirmed but, out of an abundance of caution, we're alerting businesses and residents to be prepared," police added.

Third woman comes forward accusing Gov. Cuomo of unwanted advances — provides photo of encounter

A third woman has gone public with allegations that New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) made unwanted advances toward her, and has provided photos and text conversations with friends to back up her claims.

What are the details?

The New York Times reported Monday that Anna Ruch — a former Obama administration employee and Biden 2020 campaign staffer — says upon meeting Cuomo at a wedding in Sept. 2019, he placed his hand on the small of her bare back, which was exposed because of the design of her dress.

The outlet reported:

When she removed his hand with her own, Ms. Ruch recalled, the governor remarked that she seemed "aggressive" and placed his hands on her cheeks. He asked if he could kiss her, loudly enough for a friend standing nearby to hear. Ms. Ruch was bewildered by the entreaty, she said, and pulled away as the governor drew closer.

"I was so confused and shocked and embarrassed," said Ms. Ruch, whose recollection was corroborated by the friend, contemporaneous text messages and photographs from the event. "I turned my head away and didn't have words in that moment."

The Times included a photo provided by Ruch in its story, showing Cuomo with his hands on both sides of her face, which purportedly was taken during the incident.

It was widely dispersed on social media, as shown in the tweet below:

Ruch is the third woman to come forward with sexual harassment allegations against the New York governor in the past week.

The first was Linsey Boylan, who worked for the Democrat from March 2015 to October 2018, and published an account Wednesday outlining explosive claims.

As TheBlaze reported:

The allegations of impropriety include Cuomo asking his aides to play strip poker with him; closed-door meetings between the governor and Boylan, a married woman, in which Cuomo allegedly made references to President Bill Clinton's affair with Monica Lewinsky; Valentine's Day deliveries of roses to Boylan and other female staffers; inappropriate physical touching; and a nonconsensual kiss on the lips.

Over the weekend, a second former Cuomo aide, Charlotte Bennett, told The Times that the governor asked her inappropriate questions about her sex life, and felt that he was "grooming" her in their discussions.

"I understood that the governor wanted to sleep with me, and felt horribly uncomfortable and scared," she told the newspaper. "And was wondering how I was going to get out of it and assumed it was the end of my job."

Following the second claim, New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) announced she would launch an investigation into the allegations against the governor.

What does Cuomo say?

On Sunday night, Cuomo issued a lengthy statement where he addressed the allegations from his former aides. Within it, he apologized and suggested his actions toward them had been misconstrued.

Here is his statement in its entirety:

"Questions have been raised about some of my past interactions with people in the office.

I never intended to offend anyone or cause any harm. I spend most of my life at work and colleagues are often also personal friends.

At work sometimes I think I am being playful and make jokes that I think are funny. I do, on occasion, tease people in what I think is a good natured way. I do it in public and in private. You have seen me do it at briefings hundreds of times. I have teased people about their personal lives, their relationships, about getting married or not getting married. I mean no offense and only attempt to add some levity and banter to what is a very serious business.

I now understand that my interactions may have been insensitive or too personal and that some of my comments, given my position, made others feel in ways I never intended. I acknowledge some of the things I have said have been misinterpreted as an unwanted flirtation. To the extent anyone felt that way, I am truly sorry about that.

To be clear I never inappropriately touched anybody and I never propositioned anybody and I never intended to make anyone feel uncomfortable, but these are allegations that New Yorkers deserve answers to.

That's why I have asked for an outside, independent review that looks at these allegations.

Separately, my office has heard anecdotally that some people have reached out to Ms. Bennett to express displeasure about her coming forward. My message to anyone doing that is you have misjudged what matters to me and my administration and you should stop now - period."

South Dakota nurse tells CNN she had patients who claimed coronavirus was a hoax even as they were dying from it

CNN interviewed a nurse from South Dakota who went viral on Twitter after she claimed that patients were dying from the coronavirus even as they called it a hoax and excoriated former Vice President Joe Biden.

Jodi Doering's four-tweet story went viral with nearly 70K retweets on Saturday.

"I have a night off from the hospital. As I'm on my couch with my dog I can't help but think of the Covid patients the last few days. The ones that stick out are those who still don't believe the virus is real," tweeted Doering.

"The ones who scream at you for a magic medicine and that Joe Biden is [g]oing to ruin the USA. All while gasping for breath on 100% Vapotherm. They tell you there must be another reason they are sick. They call you names and ask why you have to wear all that 'stuff' because they don't have COViD because it's not real. Yes. This really happens," she added.

"And can't stop thinking about it. These people really think this isn't going to happen to them. And then they stop yelling at you when they get intubated," Doering said.

"It's like a f***ing horror movie that never ends," she added. "There's no credits that roll. You just go back and do it all over again."

'It just made me very sad

The registered emergency room nurse appeared Monday on CNN to explain the context behind her viral tweets.

"I think the hardest thing to watch is that people are still looking for something else, and they want a magic answer, and they don't want to believe that COVID is real," Doering said to CNN host Alisyn Camerota.

"And the reason I tweeted what I did is that it wasn't one particular patient, it's just a culmination of so many people," she explained. "Their last dying words are, 'This can't be happening. It's not real.' And when they should be pending time FaceTiming their families, they're filled with anger and hatred, and it just made me very sad the other night, and I just can't believe that those are going to be their last thoughts and words."

Doering went on to exhort Americans to continue wearing face masks and following social distancing guidelines in order to help stop the spread of the coronavirus and ease the burden on medical service providers.

'So morally wrong and unacceptable'

Some were angered by Doering's comments and took to social media to excoriate the nurse for criticizing her patients.

"Badmouthing your own dying patients in exchange for some clout on CNN and on social media is really the last straw for me," said Dr. Eugene Gu, a vehement opponent of Republican policies. "This is so morally wrong and unacceptable and also there is no evidence for any of this. What a rotten culture you are promoting that perverts medicine."

Others questioned the veracity of her account given how few coronavirus deaths there are in the state of South Dakota and the likelihood that she would have seen those deaths in her small town.

Doering also noted that there were more deaths in the state of South Dakota than the entire population of her town of Woonsocket.

Horowitz: NYC officials target Jewish business owner for COVID citation, while Biden supporters hold wild parties

There's election fraud, but then there's also governing fraud. Even if one legitimately wins an election, he cannot do whatever he wants to the citizenry. We live in a republic where the government is constrained by rules and cannot indiscriminately violate civil liberties. Yet that appears to have gone out the window in New York City, as Governor Cuomo and Mayor de Blasio target Jewish-owned businesses.

You would think they'd be busy with the gang warfare in the city streets or the beatings in the subways, but a New York City sheriff's deputy was seen harassing a woman who owns a pottery shop in Brooklyn for supposed COVID violations. Yesterday, the local city councilman posted the video of the encounter with the following message:

Numerous videos have surfaced on the internet in recent days showing Jewish business owners and schools in Cuomo's "red zone" of "certain zip codes" Brooklyn being harassed by law enforcement and accused, often wrongly, of violating his latest arbitrary edict.

Perhaps there is something more insidious about the targeting of those zip codes:

The problem with those business owners is that they are not throwing Biden celebration parties with marijuana, alcohol, and other drugs. That would be lauded as the highest form of democratic expression.

Folks, this is the governing fraud on display before your eyes. In some ways, this is a more dangerous form of cheating than even dead people voting. In a constitutional republic, we shouldn't have to worry about our lives being at stake based on the results of an election, even if one side cheats to achieve their electoral win. Now we all have to fear this sort of sickening double standard on civil liberties in Kamala Harris' America. This is an America where criminal is victim, illegal alien is citizen, man is woman, income is welfare, and welfare is income. This is not a part of the sacred document that was signed in 1787.

We are not the ones who badly want our guy in the Oval Office as much as the other side wants their man. We think most decisions should be up to local authority and that certain policies are off-limits and out of constitutional bounds. It is the other side that seeks to dominate us by shutting down our houses of worship, schools, businesses, and even our own mouths and noses.

Meanwhile, as government does everything that it is constitutionally prohibited from doing, it refuses to protect us from criminals. My entire neighborhood in Baltimore County is being ravaged by carjackers, as criminals have become emboldened by the anti-prison stance of the Democrat Party. Now that they know prison is only reserved for someone opening a business or not wearing a mask, they feel they can terrorize neighborhoods with impunity because, after all, they are usually wearing masks when committing their dastardly deeds.

Folks, this is about a lot more than just election fraud. It's about governing fraud that makes King George look like James Madison. Indeed, the great revolution was fought over much less. The tyranny under King George wasn't that bad precisely because the Patriots didn't let the usurpations deteriorate to the point of debilitating their ability to militate against them. As John Adams so presciently warned in 1774, "Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people." Sadly, we've allowed those buds of tyranny to blossom ever so strongly. The question for us: Is it too late?

Ryan Hill of KOVR-TV reported that there were about 100 to 200 protesters at the demonstration and that they were blocking an intersection to stop traffic flow.

The president was visiting California in order to meet with local officials dealing with the devastation from numerous wildfires on the West Coast.

Other videos on social media reportedly from the same event showed more protesters attacking pro-Trump vehicles, and one car swerving into the crowd.

The Sacramento Bee reported that police stopped the driver of the green Volvo that swerved into the crowd after they attacked the pro-Trump cars driving by. Two people appeared to be injured in that incident.
