Disney's woke 'Snow White' is one of its worst box office bombs

The box office results are in for the first weekend of Disney's "Snow White" remake, and it is one of the company's worst bombs.

Several controversies have surrounded the live-action remake of one of Disney's oldest and most beloved fairy-tale films, which was mocked and ridiculed by many on the right.

'I cannot believe how empty these seats are — nobody is buying tickets for this mess.'

While the movie cost hundreds of millions to produce, it took in only $43 million domestically in its first weekend.

When compared to box office receipts from other Disney live-action adaptations, "Snow White" is the second-worst movie ever, only behind "Mufasa: The Lion King." Among the top performers were "The Lion King," which garnered $191 million, and "Beauty and the Beast" with $176 million.

Globally, the movie garnered $87 million.

Several social media users were posting screenshots of empty theater reservations at the movie to show its lack of popularity.

"I’m cryinggg LMAOOO I cannot believe how empty these seats are — nobody is buying tickets for this mess," said one viewer in Atlanta.

"At this rate, Disney might just as well stream Snow White on Disney+. No one watching is watching this movie in the theater. Ticket sales/pre-sales is completely empty," said another user.

Rachel Zegler, the lead actress of the film, was lambasted for wishing that President Donald Trump and his supporters would "never know peace." She later apologized. While the movie interjects left-wing narratives into the timeless story, far-left activists opposed it because of the inclusion of Israeli actress Gal Gadot.

Disney was also forced to retool the movie several times over outcry for and against the representation of the seven dwarves.

The movie received a very low 44% score among critics at the Rotten Tomatoes website but got a respectable 74% approval score from audiences.

Has DEI already KILLED Disney's new 'Snow White' remake?

The long-awaited release of Disney’s new “Snow White” remake has turned out to be a massive disappointment, as ahead of the box-office opening, it had the worst Rotten Tomatoes score for a Disney live-action remake.

Before it’s official release, the critic score was 46%.

One of the top critics, Otis Henderson, wrote, “I had high hopes that 'Snow White' would make me happy; instead, this dopey remake made me sleepy and grumpy.”

While the professional movie critics weren’t pleased, the audience hasn’t been, either.

“Wow Disney, you truly are incredible. It took you three years, multiple rewrites, unnecessary CGI, and $209 million just for me to enjoy a comment section of a movie I will never watch. Bless you,” one YouTube user wrote about the trailer.

The film stars Rachel Zegler as Snow White and Gal Gadot as the evil queen, which has led to the remake coming under even more fire for poor casting.

“I mean look, I love Gal Gadot, I don’t think she’s the greatest actress,” Matthew Marsden tells Sara Gonzales and Jaco Booyens on “Sara Gonzales Unfiltered.” “But why do you pick somebody who is quite clearly more beautiful than Snow White to play the queen?”

But it’s not just the casting that the panel sees as a flop.

“They have dried up with any creativity,” Booyens says.

“That’s true,” Gonzales adds, “That’s like all they’re doing now is coming out with live actions of others like ‘The Lion King.’”

Israel-haters spew vitriol against Gal Gadot after trailer of latest Disney movie drops

Pro-Palestinian advocates opened up a torrent of bilious hatred against Israeli actress Gal Gadot after a movie trailer for her latest film was released by Disney.

The live-action "Snow White" movie has already been mired in controversy over casting decisions about the seven dwarves, but anti-Israel critics have been more vociferous since the Oct. 7 attack led to Israel's war on Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Gadot served as a combat fitness instructor in the Israeli Defense Forces as part of her mandatory service.

'F*** gal gadot and all the zionists in and behind this movie.'

"Oh look, gal gadot in her true form, a murderer," said one critic, referring to her role as the Evil Queen in the movie.

"Remember to boycott Snow White," said another critic, "never EVER support anything that evil zionist Gal Gadot is in."

"F*** israel and f*** gal gadot and her s****y acting," read one tweet.

"F*** gal gadot and all the zionists in and behind this movie i hope you rot in hell," read another tweet.

"How is gal gadot famous like she’s one of the worst actresses to ever exist AND she served in an army being tried for genоcide," said another critic.

"Gal gadot a whole fascist who can’t act," said another user.

Others made sure to drag in other woke criticisms of the film.

"Not to be that one friend that's too woke but," read another tweet, "'f*** gal gadot' yes but also f*** the fact that this is a story abt a girl who's the most beautiful girl ever because of her pale skin and caricatures of disabled people presented as fantastical creatures."

The movie has also been lambasted by the right over the decision to feature actress Rachel Zegler as the title character despite far-left statements against Trump supporters, Israel, and the traditional story of Snow White.

Watch actress Rachel Zegler REPEATEDLY contradict herself on ‘Snow White’ adaptation

“Rachel Zegler is someone who in her relatively short career has managed to stir up a surprising amount of controversy,” says Lauren Chen.

Much of Zegler’s pot-stirring has to do with her playing Snow White in Disney’s upcoming live-action adaption of the classic film.

You’d think someone playing Disney’s very first princess would be more appreciative of the film that gave her the opportunity to star in such a beloved role, but no.

When Variety initially interviewed Zegler about the remake, she took the opportunity to bash the original movie.

“It’s no longer 1937,” Zegler said. “She’s not going to be saved by the prince, and she’s not going to be dreaming about true love; she’s dreaming about becoming the leader she knows she can be.”

“There’s a big focus on her love story with a guy who literally stalks her. Weird!” she continued.

In another interview, she said, “I was scared of the original cartoon. I think I watched it once and then I never picked it up again.”

The backlash for these remarks was instant and heated.

“Turns out disrespecting a movie while also simultaneously trying to capitalize on the existing fans of that movie is not really a winning marketing strategy,” says Lauren.

While the release of “Snow white” has been delayed due to financial concerns, many speculate that the postponing is actually due, at least in part, to the backlash from Zegler’s comments.

Further, it seems Zegler is using the hiatus to do some damage control, which only adds strength to the theory.

In a recent interview with Halle Bailey, who played Princess Ariel in “The Little Mermaid” remake, Zegler had a much different tune about the 1937 classic she previously bashed.

“The cartoon is so beloved; it's like a monumental moment in film history ... It won honorary Oscars and all of these amazing things that happened for that film are the reason that you and I really get to sit here today because it made Disney what it is,” Zegler told Bailey.

“There's just a very dedicated group of people who love Disney cartoons. I'm one of them ... I love everything that the Disney company has put out in the past ...100 years,” she continued.

Wait. We thought she said the movie was creepy and scary and not worth revisiting? And that the love story was unnecessary?

“Kind of seems like a memo went out that perhaps the best way to promote a new ‘Snow White’ movie isn't by denigrating the original ‘Snow White’ movie,” sighs Lauren.

Check out how woke Snow White actress plans to 'correct' original film's offenses in upcoming remake

Disney might be running out of ideas for movies, but that doesn’t mean the company won’t keep making them.

One of its latest films is an upcoming live-action remake of “Snow White,” which is pretty plainly another disaster in the making.

The remake will star Rachel Zegler as Snow White. She has stressed that the cartoon is completely unacceptable by today’s standards and her version will correct the original’s “issues.”

“It’s extremely dated when it comes to the ideas of women being in roles of power and what a woman is fit for,” Zegler told cameras in a recent interview about the upcoming film.

Lauren Chen is fairly certain that with an attitude like that, this movie is going to be a “huge box office flop.”

Not only is her attitude surrounding the original poor, but Chen notes that Zegler playing Snow White is “essentially brownwashing a traditionally European character who is basically known for having fair skin.”

In addition, the beloved Seven Dwarves were written out of the script, “because apparently it’s considered politically incorrect to give little people acting jobs,” Chen adds.

While promoting her new film on the red carpet, Zegler also told reporters that the original story featured a man who “literally stalks” Snow White, so they “didn’t do that this time.”

While there is no “stalker” in the film, there is a man who plays her love interest. However, according to the actress, it’s still not a love story.

“I think everyone’s going to have their assumptions about what it’s actually going to be, but it’s really not about the love story at all, which is really, really wonderful,” Zegler said.

Basically, the film won’t resemble the original at all.

“Even if you are a huge Snow White fan out there and you’re willing to overlook all of these other things, you’re still probably not going to like this movie because they are essentially stripping it of anything that would have made it quintessentially Snow White,” Chen comments.
