Democrats on FCC approve Soros' purchase of 200+ radio stations without national security review of foreign cash

The Democrat-controlled Federal Communications Commission has officially given leftist billionaire George Soros what he wanted: effective control and foreign ownership of over 200+ American radio stations ahead of the 2024 election — including stations that presently run shows from Glenn Beck, Mark Levin, Erick Erickson, Sean Hannity, and Dana Loesch.

While some initially cast doubt on whether Audacy will be actually controlled by Soros, the FCC's Monday memo reveals a Soros entity will hold a "controlling, attributable interest in the reorganized company, holding 57% or greater" of Audacy.

All three Democratic appointees on the FCC supported the final decision both to approve the assignment of licenses previously under the control of a Texas bankruptcy court to the reorganized Audacy and to spare the company from having to comply with Section 310(b)(4) of the Communications Act, which prohibits foreign owners from having a stake in a radio station license exceeding 25%.

Trump-appointed FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr said in his dissenting statement, "The Commission’s decision today is unprecedented."

"Never before has the Commission voted to approve the transfer of a broadcast license — let alone the transfer of broadcast licenses for over 200 radio stations across more than 40 markets — without following the requirements and procedures codified in federal law," continued Carr. "Not once."

Carr previously told nationally syndicated radio host and Blaze Media co-founder Glenn Beck, "Foreign company ownership of U.S. radio stations is not supposed to exceed 25%. But Soros took foreign investment to make his bid, and then he asked the FCC to make an exception to the usual review process."

'Who controls FPR? Well, Google it.'

"We have a very clear process at the FCC that we set up — it could take six months, it could take a year — to go through to [the national security] review the foreign ownership at issue here," Carr told Beck. "But for reasons that are not sort of plain to me, the FCC ... for the very first time ever, has skipped that process for the benefit of this Soros-backed group."

Carr noted in his statement of dissent Monday that the applicants have provided the FCC with "virtually no information at all about their plans to wall off the unvetted foreign interests."

Commissioner Nathan Simington, the other Republican appointee on the FCC, like Carr, was shocked by his Democratic peers' willingness to fast-track the deal without bothering to investigate which foreign interests are involved, writing:

A Commission eager to fast-track a billion dollar broadcast media reorganization, disregarding foreign ownership concerns, is the same Commission that has gone back to the well several times to impose and re-impose foreign sponsorship identification rules on our smallest independent broadcast license holders every time they place local church content on the air. Just saying.

Despite years of concern-mongering about foreign interference, Democrats do not appear the slightest bit bothered.

Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel, among the three commissioners who green-lit the takeover, suggested that everything was above board and business as usual, adding that "to suggest otherwise is cynical and wrong."

Simington, apparently in the cynical minority who still value longstanding laws and FCC conventions, pointed out that the reorganized Audacy will be controlled by Laurel Tree Opportunities Corporation and that LTOC will own and control a majority (57% or more) of the voting stock of the reorganized company.

"Who controls LTOC? It's not a particularly complicated structure: Fund for Policy Reform. And who controls FPR? Well, Google it," wrote Simington.

The Fund for Policy Reform, founded in 2009 and affiliated with George Soros' Open Society Foundations, holds 100% of the voting and equity interest of FPR Capital, which is the sole voting shareholder of LTOC, according to the FCC's Monday memo.

'This reckless, unprecedented move will impact radio stations reaching millions of listeners across the U.S.'

Fund for Policy Reform is governed by a four-member board of trustees: Alexander Soros, the apparent heir to the Soros empire and chair of Open Society Foundations; Leonard Banchon; Maryann Canfield, asset manager for OSF; and Michael Vachon of Soros Fund Management, a longtime mouthpiece for the leftist billionaire.

A week ahead of securing the power of greater narrative control over American airwaves, Alexander Soros hosted Kamala Harris' running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, at his New York City apartment.

Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) office said of the news, "This reckless, unprecedented move will impact radio stations reaching millions of listeners across the U.S. — handing off our airwaves to foreign interests."

Roy, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Rep. Nick Langworthy (R-N.Y.) were among the only lawmakers in the nation's capital who actually spoke out in recent months about Soros' apparent strategic play for narrative dominance.

Roy personally noted that this FCC action underscores why the November election "matters so much. We need [President Donald Trump] to put the right people on FCC and stop this takeover!"

Dana Loesch, among the conservative voices whose voice on the radio might soon be silenced, wrote, "Being a rich Democrat means Democrats will exempt you from laws regulating sales to foreign entities. Marxists never follow the laws they demand others follow."

Mike Davis of the Article III Project suggested, "The federal courts must immediately enjoin this illegal fiat."

Alexander Soros and Huma Abedin share photo that seems to indicate they are dating

It appears that Huma Abedin and Alexander Soros are dating.

Soros, a son of wealthy left-wing mega-donor George Soros, shared a photo of himself with Abedin. Abedin shared Soros' post on her own Instagram story. A location indicator on Soros' post shows that the couple was in Paris.

Soros is the chair of the board of directors of the Open Society Foundations, which was founded by his father.

"The Open Society Foundations, founded by George Soros, are the world's largest private funder of independent groups working for justice, democratic governance, and human rights. We approach this mission through the illuminating principles of justice, equity, and expression—defining characteristics of any truly open society," according to the Open Society Foundations website.

"As much as I would love to get money out of politics, as long as the other side is doing it, we will have to do it, too," Alex Soros said, the Wall Street Journal reported last year.

"Our side has to be better about being more patriotic and inclusive," he noted, according to the outlet. "Just because someone votes Trump doesn't mean they're lost or racist."

Abedin has an extensive history of working as an aide for Hillary Clinton.

A Valentine's Day tweet on former President Bill Clinton's X account reads, "Where did the time go? There have sure been a lot of Happy Valentines days. Here’s to one more."

"Happy Valentine's Day to my forever Valentine!" Hillary Clinton responded.

Soros Nonprofit Bailed Out Violent Criminal Charged In Texas Shooting Spree

Shane James, the 34-year-old charged with two counts of capital murder after allegedly gunning down six people and injuring three in Texas this week, was reportedly let out of prison before the killing spree thanks to the George Soros-funded Texas Organizing Project (TOP). Officers suspect James killed his parents overnight Monday or early Tuesday in […]

George Soros hands control of empire to son, who proclaims he is 'more political' than his leftist father

Billionaire liberal George Soros confirmed that he is handing control of his $25 billion empire to his son – Alexander Soros. The son – who stresses that he is "more political" than his father – plans to continue funneling billions to leftwing causes and politicians.

The Wall Street Journal broke the story of Alex Soros taking over the Open Society Foundations from his 92-year-old father.

"We think alike," George Soros said of his son.

Alex proclaimed, "I'm more political," when compared to his billionaire father.

The 37-year-old focuses on different causes, especially voting and abortion rights, as well as gender equality.

Alex is concerned about the prospect of former President Donald Trump returning to the White House.

He told the WSJ, "As much as I would love to get money out of politics, as long as the other side is doing it, we will have to do it, too."

"He plans to continue using the family’s deep pockets to back left-leaning U.S. politicians," the Wall Street Journal article read.

The Open Society Foundations had funneled nearly $21 billion into left-leaning causes since 2000, according to a report published in January.

His father's immense wealth has provided Alex with access to some of the most influential political power brokers in the world.

As TheBlaze reported in April, Alex has visited the White House at least 14 times since President Joe Biden took office.

Alex Soros has met with French President Emmanuel Macron, Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, former President Barack Obama, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (R-Calif.), Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), and Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.).

"Alex is more focused on domestic politics than his father, he said. Alex is helping Democrats appeal to Latino voters and improve turnout among Black voters," the article noted. "He has urged Democratic politicians to better hone their message, broadening the party’s appeal."

He said, "Our side has to be better about being more patriotic and inclusive. Just because someone votes Trump doesn’t mean they’re lost or racist."

The Soros super PAC, Democracy PAC, has financed the election campaigns of progressive district attorneys and law-enforcement officials.

Alex is the oldest of two sons from George’s second marriage.

However, Alex was not expected to be George's heir apparent. For many years, Alex's elder half-brother, Jonathan Soros, was expected to be the one to succeed George at the Open Society Foundations. Jonathan, the third child from George’s first marriage, had a falling out in 2011 that resulted in Jonathan parting ways with his father's investment business.

Anthony Romero – executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union, which receives funding from the OSF – believes that Alex "is unlikely to be the boogeyman that George Soros was for the right."

White House logs reveal George Soros' son has made at least 14 visits

George Soros has proven himself instrumental in funding leftist causes over the years, but at the age of 92, the open society he has sought after needs a new champion. The billionaire's 37-year-old son, Alexander Soros, appears keen to carry on his father's legacy of propping up radicals and technocrats alike.

Recently updated White House visitor logs have revealed that Alexander Soros has the ear of prominent officials and staffers inside the Biden administration, having visited the White House at least 14 times since President Joe Biden took office.

Soros the younger chairs his father's Open Society Foundation and sits on the board of the European Council on Foreign Relations.

This Democratic fundraiser and University of California, Berkeley, grad routinely takes selfies with liberal elites and leftist politicians, such as French President Emmanuel Macron, former President Barack Obama, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (R-Calif.), Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.), Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-Calif.), and others across the globe.

On March 30, the White House revealed just how often in recent years Alexander Soros has haunted the White House.

Soros attended a luxurious state dinner hosted by President Biden and first lady Jill Biden on Dec. 1, after having met with then-White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain's adviser Nina Srivastava earlier in the day, reported the New York Post.

The next day, Soros met with both adviser to the counselor to the president Mariana Adame and deputy national security adviser Jonathan Finer.

Soros had on other occasions met with a national security adviser staffer and other personnel close to members of the president's inner circle.

Matt Palumbo, an author and essayist who has investigated the Soros empire, told "Fox & Friends First" that it was notable that most of Soros' White House visits were to individuals involved in national security.

"Ukraine is a country where the Soros family has unfortunately boasted a lot of influence. There is tens, if not hundreds of billions of dollars being thrown around there. So I think that will be something worth circling back on in coming months or years," said Palumbo.

Mike Howell, director of the Oversight Project at the Conservative Heritage Foundation, suggested that Soros' repeat visits to the White House are concerning since his family has already "done tremendous damage to our country," reported the Post.

"The Soros agenda is one of death and destruction in the name of open borders and ending Western civilization," said Howell. "The Biden administration and rogue prosecutor movement may be [its] most damaging purchase in America to date."

TheBlaze previously reported that Soros the elder has funneled $21 billion into leftist politics in an effort to influence global policy since 2000.

Contrary to Twitter CEO Elon Musk's suggestion that the younger Soros is "de facto in charge" of his father's leftist capital, Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch, told the Post not to be "distracted by Alex’s name in the visitor log; it’s a George Soros rep they’re looking to meet with at the Biden White House. … He’s still calling the shots, it’s his money, his foundations."

Fitton underscored that Soros' "aggressive environmental agenda," open-border initiatives, and other destructive pet causes are still at play and continue to have significant influence in the Biden administration and Washington.

The Washington Examiner reported that Alexander Soros has pumped over $5.7 million into leftist political action committees and Democratic campaigns since 2018, according to Federal Election Commission filings. He reportedly directed $2 million in 2018 to Senate Majority PAC, linked to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.

The younger Soros also contributed over $130,000 to Peolosi's campaign and a super PAC victory fund associated with the former House Speaker.

"Alexander Soros is poised to lead his family's multibillion-dollar political and philanthropic network," Scott Walter, president of the conservative think tank Capital Research Center, told the Washington Examiner.

"Like his father, he cozies up to White House and congressional leaders willing to do the family's bidding on such issues as crime, immigration, election policy, and more, as the Soroses exploit every type of giving: money to parties, independent expenditure groups, and so-called 'charities,'" added Walter.
