'Let's Go Brandon' tag on pilot's luggage angers 'Karen' passenger. American Airlines vows 'internal review' — but allowed BLM pins on flight attendants in 2020.

A woman who identified herself as a passenger on an American Airlines flight complained to the airline on Twitter about a "Let's Go Brandon" tag on a pilot's luggage, Fox News reported.

"Y'all cool with your pilots displaying this kind of cowardly rhetoric on their crew luggage when they're in uniform, about to fly a plane?" the woman reportedly asked the airline. "We are not the only passengers who noticed and were disgusted."

The passenger in question has since made her Twitter account private, Fox News said, but images of her tweet and subsequent chat with the airline survived:

Here's American Airlines' initial response on Twitter:

Thank you for bringing this to our attention and we want to get this to the right team. Please DM any additional details.

Fox News said the woman then posted what she claimed were direct messages with AA representatives, and the cable network posted an image of that chat. It begins with the woman complaining about "political propaganda" and "images that support the insurrection of our gov't/sitting president."

The phrase "Let's Go Brandon" has become well-known code for "F*** Joe Biden," which those who dislike the sitting president use in lieu of profanity.

"We hold our team members to the highest standards and expectations," the airline said in response, also promising that appropriate AA officials would review the matter and that "we take this very seriously."

But what about Black Lives Matter pins?

American Airlines made headlines in September 2020 when it announced it would allow flight attendants to wear Black Lives Matter pins while on duty. The decision came amid that summer's protests and riots over the death of George Floyd in the hands of Minneapolis police.

"Clearly we live in a time where it is so important to have a dialogue about this important issue of racism in our society and try to find common ground," the airline wrote in a company-wide announcement. "American is truly committed to having an inclusive culture that is welcoming to all and a reflection of our country and world."

But some AA employees were angry about the announcement, saying colleagues who don't wear BLM pins could be ostracized. Some opponents also vowed to wear items showing support for police and then-President Donald Trump in response.

How did folks react to the 'Let's Go Brandon' complaint?

A number of Twitter commenters made it abundantly clear that American Airlines should not punish the pilot and that the complainer is out of line.

Conservative journalist Mollie Hemingway tweeted, "Hope he and everyone else gets a raise for having to deal with Karen passengers such as this one."

Christina Pushaw, press secretary for Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, tweeted that the pilot "deserves a raise for dealing with entitled Karens while doing his job."

"Don’t fire your pilots for being conservative or criticizing Biden," Pushaw added, according to Fox News. "We won’t have any pilots left. As if the thousands of flight cancellations aren’t enough already. @AmericanAir do the right thing."

Others agreed — and promised repercussions:

  • "This ain’t it AA," one user stated. "I won’t fly your airlines if you punish this pilot."
  • "If you fire this guy, I’m never using your airline again," another commenter vowed.
  • "If you take ANY action against these pilots and crew members because this Karen complained about her overprotected sensibilities, I promise you I will never fly @AmericanAir again," another user said, adding that "this’ll make the rounds in the media until you lose 40%+ of your customer base."

Fox News said American Airlines didn't immediately respond to its request for comment regarding the "Let's Go Brandon" complaint.

Anything else?

The airline isn't the only one forced to deal with the "Let's Go Brandon" phenomenon.

A few months back leftists lost it when a Southwest pilot said, "Let's go, Brandon" over the plane's intercom.

An AP reporter aboard the flight said she was almost removed when she tried to gain access the flight deck to ask the pilot about his remark. In addition, a Harvard professor and CNN analyst insisted that every passenger should file a complaint with the Federal Aviation Administration over the remark.

American Airlines investigating pilot who criticized school district's 'diversity and inclusion' plan

American Airlines confirmed Wednesday the company is investigating a Texas pilot who criticized an education plan that introduces critical race theory into his local school district.

What is the background?

After a video went viral three years ago showing teenage students using the N-word at a party in Southlake, Texas, the Carroll Independent School District created the "Cultural Competence Action Plan."

The plan, critics say, introduces elements of critical race theory into public schools.

Southlake Families PAC, which opposes the CCAP, explains the "diversity and inclusion" education plan makes "social justice training" mandatory for all Carroll ISD students and would even "establish a Diversity and Inclusion Week at each CISD campus during the academic year much like the weeks dedicated to 'BLM at School' in Seattle, New York and Philadelphia. The BLM at School program on the BLM website includes a starter kit, list of Demands, 13 Guiding Principles and Curriculum. Included in this kit is a queer and trans-affirming curriculum for all ages and grades, as well as curriculum specifically stated to "disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure."

What are the details?

Guy Midkiff is a Texas-based pilot who has flown for American Airlines for more than 30 years, according to the Dallas Morning News.

But his employment with the airline may now be in jeopardy after social media users complained that Midkiff was voicing opposition to the controversial cultural awareness plan.

The Morning News reported that Midkiff used social media and a podcast to "documented his opposition" to the CCAP and its supporters. However, activists who support the CCAP claimed Midkiff was harassing people online and repeatedly sought American Airlines' attention over what they thought was problematic conduct.

Southlake Anti-Racism Coalition claimed Midkiff was "harassing" people online, but cited only "unprofessional comments" that voiced opposition to the CCAP.

"Your employee has been harassing students and community members relentlessly for months for speaking out against the racism they experience in our town. From targeting individual minors and accosting our organization, here are just some of his most recent unprofessional comments," the SARC said.

Another Twitter account said, "Hey @AmericanAir, why is this man saying he is a pilot for your airline? He is consistently harassing minority females in Southlake and now is going after our students! SARC stands for the Southlake Anti-Racism coalition and is made up mostly of students. Kids!"

What did American Airlines say?

The company said in a statement they are investigating the pilot.

"We are troubled by the allegations made and have launched an investigation into the matter," an American Airlines representative told the Dallas Morning News.

John Kerry busted for not wearing mask on flight — American Airlines says 'We're looking into this'

White House special envoy on climate John Kerry was caught with his mask off on an American Airlines flight on Wednesday, in an apparent violation of the rules laid out by the Biden administration and the airline itself.

After critics on social media blasted the former secretary of state for hypocrisy, American Airlines vowed, "We're looking into this."

What are the details?

The Tennessee Star first reported that Kerry was spotted in first class on a flight from Boston to Washington, D.C., when a fellow traveler took a picture of the official seen apparently reading without any food or drink in sight. Airline passengers are allowed to remove their masks while consuming food or beverages, in accordance with federal and airline policies.

Fox News caught up with the person who snapped the photo to confirm its authenticity. The individual, who wished to remain anonymous, told the outlet:

"I salute our Very Special Presidential Envoy for Climate for not flying private, but instead flying first class commercial with the rest of us common folk. And while he can't bring himself to follow his own party's mask restrictions, we should cut him some slack."

"Being an elite hypocrite is hard work!"

The Washington Examiner reported:

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued an order that went into effect last month that requires passengers to "wear masks that cover both the mouth and nose when awaiting, boarding, traveling on, or disembarking public conveyances. People must also wear masks when entering or on the premises of a transportation hub in the United States."
American Airlines issued a press release shortly after, saying the company would fully comply with the new federal mandate, noting that the regulation will also help its employees in enforcing the rules.

The Washington Examiner reached out for comment from Kerry's office but did not receive an immediate response.

What was the reaction on social media?

Once the image of Kerry hit the internet, it brought out waves of critics who blasted the hypocrisy of both Democrats and airlines over the climate czar appearing to have been handed a pass on a rule that is stringently enforced against the common man.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic hit last year, there have been numerous accounts of Democratic politicians being caught flouting their own rules, and carriers banning passengers for not wearing masks — including autistic children.

As Twitter users called out American Airlines over the ordeal, the airline replied more than once that they would be "looking into" the situation with Kerry.

One critic tagged the airline in a tweet saying, "Just remember that @AmericanAir would harass YOU if YOU dared to remove your mask aboard one of its aircraft. Kerry, like every other Democrat, gets a pass while YOU suffer!"

The airline responded, "We require masks on board our aircraft and are looking into this."
