Cotton Presses DOJ to Investigate Code Pink's Terror, CCP Ties

Sen. Tom Cotton (R., Ark.) on Friday petitioned the Justice Department to open a federal investigation into left-wing activist group Code Pink for providing "material support to foreign terrorist organizations" and serving as an unregistered agent of the Chinese government, according to a letter shared with the Washington Free Beacon.

Congress takes aim at billionaires bankrolling left-wing 'hate campaigns' following Kirk assassination

In light of Charlie Kirk's horrific assassination, congressional Republicans are looking to uproot "militant organizations" that have sown discord in our country.

Neville Roy Singham, a wealthy businessman and political activist, has bankrolled left-wing NGOs like Code Pink that some say are responsible for indoctrinating young Americans and heightening political polarization. Notably, Code Pink was founded by Singham's wife, Jodie Evans.

'We will no longer allow billionaires to bankroll anti-American political movements.'

"Neville Singham has spent millions funding militant organizations that have orchestrated violent riots and launched targeted hate campaigns against Americans with different beliefs," Republican Rep. Anna Paulina Luna of Florida said in a post on X.

Given Singham's role in propping up many of these organizations, Luna and House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) are pressuring Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to freeze his assets.

"We will no longer allow billionaires to bankroll anti-American political movements on behalf of foreign governments," Luna said.

Singham is most recently being investigated for his ties to CCP-influence operations that fall under the purview of the Foreign Agents Registration Act. Because he appears to fund many of these influence operations, Luna and Comer have called on Bessent to enforce penalties, including freezing Singham's assets, to curb any "malign activities" executed by these organizations.

"It is imperative that we expeditiously halt the continued flow of funds and material support for malign activities conducted at the behest of the CCP," the letter reads.

The House Oversight Committee also investigated Singham in June for allegedly funding "various extremist entities," such as the Party for Socialism and Liberation, on behalf of the CCP.

The committee called on Singham to overturn all relevant financial and communications documents pertaining to these far-left organizations. Unsurprisingly, Singham has not provided these documents to the committee.

Disruptive left-wing activists have Uyghur 'blood' on their hands, Sen. Hawley says: 'China-funded liars and racists'

Following a recent Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on stemming the rise in hate crimes and anti-Semitism in the country, Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) was surrounded by members of Code Pink, a left-wing activist group.

According to the organization's website, it is an anti-war, "women-led grassroots" group founded in 2002.

'You've got blood on your hands from the Uyghurs, every single one of you.'

A video shared by the Daily Caller News Foundation captured members of the organization gathering around Hawley as he left the hearing on Tuesday.

Hawley slammed the activists for the group's ties to the Chinese Communist Party.

"You are funded by Chinese money," he told them.

One protester asked, "Who funds you?"

"Not China," Hawley remarked.

"AIPAC [American Israel Public Affairs Committee]? Pro-Israeli lobby groups?" the protester continued.

"There we go, there's the anti-Semitism," Hawley responded.

"You are funded by Chinese money," the senator continued. "You've got blood on your hands from the Uyghurs, every single one of you."

Hawley called the protesters a "disgrace."

"It's a privilege to be protested by you terrible people," he added. "You're China-funded liars and racists, and it's a privilege to stand against you."

Earlier this year, the same group confronted Hawley while they rallied to call for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war.

In response to the confrontation, the senator told Fox News, "Code Pink are paid-for protesters funded by the Chinese Communist Party. Their money comes from China. It's laundered through a bunch of dark money groups, and then it goes to Code Pink."

"These are people that can't even admit that the Uyghurs are in internment camps, concentration camps, and yet they say that Israel is a terrorist state? Give me a break," Hawley said, calling the activists "astroturf wackos."

An oversight investigation conducted by the House Committee on Natural Resources last year claimed that Code Pink has ties to the CCP.

"On August 5, 2023, the New York Times reported that Code Pink 'is part of a lavishly funded influence campaign' that 'works closely with the Chinese government media machine' to promote the agenda of the CCP. Code Pink is purportedly funded by Neville Roy Singham, a self-proclaimed socialist and current 'benefactor of far-left causes,' who is now based in Shanghai, China. Photos show Mr. Singham regularly meeting with officials from the CCP, including at CCP propaganda forums," a House committee letter read.

Code Pink did not respond to Blaze News' request for comment.

80-year-old congresswoman puts on masterclass when left-wing activists ambush her: 'Don't even think about it'

Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.) has no patience for left-wing activists.

Code Pink activists descended on Capitol Hill this week to "demand an end to the genocide in Gaza and advocate for a free Palestine." The far-left organization is "committed to supporting Palestinian liberation," endorses the anti-Israel BDS movement, supports "Palestinians’ right to resist" Israel, and believes only Palestinians are the "rightful owners and caretakers of Palestine."

"Off the elevator! I have work to do!"

On Wednesday, activists tried to ambush Foxx, chairwoman of the House Education Committee, but it didn't go so well.

"Don’t even think about it, I’ve got things to do," Foxx told multiple Code Pink activists who tried confronting her on Capitol Hill.

The organization accused Foxx of "harassing students who only want to stop a genocide" — as if that's the only thing anti-Israel students have done on college campuses — and one of the activists chided Foxx for believing that anti-Semitism is a problem. That activist claimed "anti-Islamophobia" is the real issue.

Another activist then tried to enter an elevator reserved only for members of Congress.

"You’re not welcome on this elevator. It's a members only," Foxx told the activist.

But the activist did not comply and initially refused to exit the elevator.

"Why are you destroying the lives of so many young people on campuses?" one activist asked Foxx. Another one confronted, "Why are you attacking children and teachers who are just trying to speak up for Palestinians?"

But Foxx was not interested in playing their games.

"Off the elevator! I have work to do!" Foxx told the activist, then calling for Capitol Police to remove the activist.

Rep. Brian Mast (R-Fla.) also gave the Code Pink activists a spectacular response.

On Wednesday, an activist asked Mast if he believes Israel should agree to the one-sided ceasefire agreement that Hamas has signed. Israel did not sign it because it was "very far from Israel’s core demands," according to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Mast, likewise, made it clear that he opposes the agreement.

"I think Israel should go in there and kick the s*** out of [Hamas], just absolutely destroy them, their infrastructure, level anything that they touch. Clear enough?" Mast said.
