Texas AG Ken Paxton files suit against Colony Ridge for fraudulent practices, but Blaze Media has known the truth for some time

Yesterday, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed suit against the massive real estate development northeast of Houston known as Colony Ridge.

According to the suit, Colony Ridge’s owner John Harris has “built a sprawling community northeast of Houston on a foundation of false, misleading, and deceptive sales, marketing, and lending practices.”

“Colony Ridge's business model is predicated on churning land purchasers through a foreclosure mill. Namely, Colony Ridge targets foreign born and Hispanic consumers with limited or no access to credit with promises of cheap, ready to build land and financing without proof of income," the suit claims.

While Paxton’s lawsuit will likely awaken many around the state, and even the nation, about the glaring crisis that is Colony Ridge, Blaze Media has known the truth for some time now.

Earlier this year, Glenn Beck and the Blaze Originals team traveled to Colony Ridge, Texas, and met with Harris as well as some of the residents who call the development home.

What they found will disturb you to your core.

A disturbing update on Colony Ridge, Texas

Glenn Beck and the BlazeTV documentary team have made an incredible discovery in the story of Colony Ridge, Texas.

Up until now, reporting has suggested that the massive immigrant settlement outside of Houston was cartel-infested, crime-ridden, and set up by developers who are immorally taking advantage of the immigrants.

However, Glenn has done his due diligence, and he now believes the story is much, much more complicated than anyone originally thought.

Glenn’s head writer and researcher, Jason Buttrill, is in agreement.

Based on what he heard, Buttrill tells Glenn that he expected “basically almost what I saw in Iraq.”

Now that he’s been there, he “can’t fathom how that’s the story that you get just by showing up, driving around, and saying, ‘Okay, this is what’s going on,’ because the story is a lot more complicated than that.”

One story in particular that wasn’t what it seemed was the death of two teenagers who appeared to have been shot execution-style in their car, which was parked by mailboxes in Colony Ridge.

“Now, we’re hearing that perhaps that didn’t happen there, that this was crime that was a body dump,” Glenn says.

“There’s only one truth in the end,” Glenn says, adding, “and I’m really glad to say this: we are doing everything we can to get to that truth. Not our truth, not the story we think people want to hear but the actual story.”

While it’s possible that what’s happening in Colony Ridge may be immoral, Glenn and Jason aren’t sure it’s the crime-ridden place full of illegal activities that he’s been told.

“There’s a lot more than meets the eye, and I mean, you’re really not going to get into it if you operate like the mainstream media does,” Jason tells Glenn, adding, “They take a story, and they run a narrative, and that’s what gets pushed out to the entire country. And you never learn any further. You never go deeper. And that’s what I really love about what we’re doing now.”

This illegal immigrant story just got much more complicated

When Glenn Beck and his head researcher landed in Colony Ridge, Texas, the town they were expecting was more like a scene out of Iraq.

“Ultimate squalor” and “almost like Grand Theft Auto” were how Buttrill described his expectations of the massive illegal immigrant settlement outside of Houston.

“I can’t fathom how that’s the story that you get just by showing up, driving around, and saying, ‘Okay this is what’s going on,’ because this story is a lot more complicated than that,” Buttrill explains.

The pair were told that citizens of Colony Ridge were “being sold at usury-style interest rates of 20% and 30% credit card rates” with gangs and cartels heavily involved.

One case on Glenn’s radar involves two teenage boys who appear to have been shot execution-style and left by some mailboxes in the area. While originally it seemed like a potential cartel crime, now Glenn is hearing it may have been a body dump.

“There is only one truth in the end, but I’m really glad to say this — we are doing everything we can to get to that truth. Not our truth, not the story we think people want to hear but the actual story,” Glenn says.

People need to know the truth, as settlement’s like Colony Ridge may be playing a huge role in whether the border situation will get better or worse.

Glenn has interviews lined up with more members and partners of the settlement, so he’s waiting on more answers.

“At first I was, ‘It’s probably illegal, and it’s absolutely immoral’ — and I still don’t have an answer on either of those two. It might be illegal, it might be immoral, but I had a swing yesterday back and forth to these where I’m like, ‘Well, I don’t know,’” Glenn says.

Is THIS donor the reason for Colony Ridge, Texas' biggest and most nefarious illegal immigrant city?

If Glenn Beck doesn’t make it onto his own show, you know it’s for a good reason.

This time, it’s because Glenn is calling in from Colony Ridge, where he is investigating a massive illegal immigrant settlement that’s sprung up right outside of Houston, Texas.

He’s dubbed this Miami-sized settlement “the world’s most dangerous trailer park.”

It’s a cartel-run community of about 70,000 illegals in the middle of 30,000 acres.

Despite the land being in the middle of a flood zone, developers bought it all up and are selling plots to illegals.

“You’re talking about a change in elections just with this county. You’re talking about corruption and gangs, they’ve had body bags there, massive drugs going on,” Glenn explains.

The entire community only has 6-8 police officers, prosecutors have refused to prosecute any crimes, and on top of that, the developers are rigging the entire housing market.

One of the brothers running the community happens to be one of the Texas governor's biggest donors and has provided over a million dollars to his campaign, which Glenn is sure is a “complete coincidence.”

Glenn is there working on a documentary about the settlement that will be exclusive to the BlazeTV, which he says “a lot of people are not going to be happy is airing.”

“This is the most immoral, legal thing I’ve ever seen, and it’s going to happen all over the country,” Glenn says, disturbed.

By the end of the Biden administration, Glenn notes that there will be 10 million illegals in Houston. “10% of the population is illegal,” he says in disbelief.

But it’s situations like this that made Glenn want to start and grow TheBlaze.

“[TheBlaze] has built itself into such a workhorse now — and really pretty darn bulletproof,” he says, adding, “and finally we’re able to be the investigative arm.”

“We’re no longer going to wait for ABC, NBC, CBS, whatever; they’re useless. They’re going to have to start answering to us.”
