Democrats Prove They Hate Trump More Than Death, Destruction And Economic Depression
'We have capitulated to the enemy'
President Donald Trump ousted Pam Bondi from the attorney general role on April 2, then announced that "very talented and respected Legal Mind" Todd Blanche, Trump's former personal attorney, would be stepping in to serve as acting attorney general.
In the months since, several names have been floated as possible long-term picks for the position, including EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), and Republican Sens. Mike Lee of Utah and Ted Cruz of Texas.
The president announced his choice of nominee at a private White House Rose Garden dinner on Wednesday: acting AG Blanche.
In a video shared to social media by deputy White House Chief of Staff Dan Scavino, Trump said, "Tomorrow I’m instructing Dan and everybody else that’s involved in that very complicated process, which is gonna go, I think, very quickly, that we are going to make him permanent attorney general."
Democrats wasted no time condemning Trump's choice of candidate and vowing to block Blanche's confirmation.
U.S. Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) told CNN's Laura Coates on Wednesday evening that Blanche doesn't have enough votes in the Senate to be confirmed, then characterized the acting AG as inexperienced.

"This is a man that has been involved in investigating the chairman of the Fed, investigating former people that the president has perceived as his enemies. And they're weaponizing that agency. They've even gone after United States senators," said Booker.
"His only qualification, which seems to be all that President Trump wants from people, is that they are willing to do his bidding and they will act like his own personal attorneys, which he was, and not like somebody upholding the highest law enforcement office in the land," continued Booker.
So far under the leadership of acting AG Blanche, the Justice Department has made progress on several fronts, securing, for instance, indictments against disgraced former FBI Director James Comey, the Southern Poverty Law Center, and former Cuban President Raul Castro; creating the National Fraud Enforcement Division; and addressing the fallout of the Biden administration's government weaponization efforts.
After Coates pointed out that Blanche "does have legal experience, obviously" — noting that he has been a prosecutor, has worked in a law firm, and has already been tested as acting AG — Booker insinuated that some of his Republican colleagues are similarly uncertain about Trump's pick, adding, "This is not a serious person."
Having ironed out his talking points on CNN, Booker later said more of the same on MS NOW.
Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) melted down over the announcement, stating, "Corrupt & compromised by feckless Trump fealty, Blanche is a nonstarter as AG."
"There's no way we should confirm an AG who will continue as Trump's personal lawyer, not the people's," added Blumenthal.
While Democrats have cast doubt on whether the Senate will confirm Blanche, it confirmed him as deputy attorney general last year in 52-46 vote.

Last weekend during the Michigan Democratic Women's Caucus Legacy Luncheon, Democrat Sen. Cory Booker (N.J.) quite literally shouted a speech, in which he implored Democrats to become "foot soldiers for democracy" and warned of "darkness and wind" facing the nation ahead of the midterms.
At one point in his 25-minute fire-and-brimstone jeremiad, Booker, gesturing upward, bellowed, “What we need is not from on high!”
On a recent episode of “Pat Gray Unleashed,” Pat played the clip of the speech and concluded that Booker is an “antichrist” among us.
Pat translates Booker’s controversial line: “He is telling you we don't need God.”
“Well, that's an antichrist. ... Maybe not the Antichrist, but he's an antichrist,” he argues, calling it “frightening.”
The panel agrees that Booker and fellow Democrats’ wild antics are the result of Trump derangement syndrome.
“The infection has really spread,” says Jeffy.
“How do you come together with these people?” asks Pat. “There’s one way and it is from on high.”
“We got to turn to God on high to come together on this, and if you're screaming that that's not what we need, what does that tell Americans?” he asks. “That tells you he's not the guy to follow, that's for sure. That's not the party to follow.”
What is desperately needed, Pat explains, is for all politicians to “call for prayer for the nation to get together and have a common purpose and invoke the blessings of God.”
He compares Booker’s comment to President Trump’s request for national prayer in preparation for the nation’s 250th birthday.
“I'm serious about this being antichrist because [Booker] is telling people you don't need God,” Pat reiterates. “What we need are Democrats, I guess? So they're putting themselves in the position of God. ... It's despicable. It's anti-American. It's anti-Christian. It's anti-God.”
Keith Malinak argues Booker is just a "Democrat telling the truth about Democrats."

Cory Booker married a female woman over the weekend, closing the book on idle speculation about a man often described as "the Leonardo DiCaprio of American politics." The Democratic senator from New Jersey wed his recently acquired fiancée, Alexis Lewis, at an intimate ceremony in Washington, D.C., over the weekend. The move satisfies a major public relations need for Booker and arrives with exquisite timing as he prepares to launch his 2028 presidential campaign.

Democratic Sen. Jeff Merkley of Oregon is gunning for a record-breaking filibuster in hopes of blocking President Donald Trump's "attempts to trample on the Constitution."
Merkley began his filibuster Tuesday night in order to prevent Trump's "authoritarianism" in the form of a clean, nonpartisan continuing resolution that Democrats have blocked nearly a dozen times. As of early Wednesday afternoon, over 18 hours into his Senate floor spectacle, Merkley appears to be aiming to beat New Jersey Democrat Sen. Cory Booker's record-breaking 25-hour filibuster back in April.
Democrats' $1.5 trillion funding bill aims to undo every policy implemented by Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
Addressing an empty chamber, Merkley railed against Trump's efforts to address crime in Portland after an appeals court ruled in favor of the administration deploying the National Guard.
“Portlanders have responded in a very interesting way,” Merkley said. “They are demonstrating with joy and whimsy.”

The whimsical response from Portland residents included a horde of naked cyclists temporarily blocking an ICE facility's driveway to protest the crime crackdown. Several arrests were later made after some protesters became rowdy, refusing to move out of the driveway.
"They want to make it clear to the world that what Trump is saying about there being violent protests or a rebellion in Portland,” Merkley said, “it’s just not true.”

Due to Merkley's drawn-out floor speech, the Senate has not been able to schedule another vote to reopen the government as the shutdown approaches its fourth week.
Democrats originally shut down the government after they blocked the Republican-led funding bill, allowing the September 30 deadline to lapse. Despite Democrat posturing, the GOP's bill remains a clean continuing resolution with no partisan anomalies.
In contrast, the Democrats' $1.5 trillion funding bill aims to undo every policy implemented by Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill Act. Democrats are also insisting on addressing Obamacare subsidies even though they expire at the end of the year.
