Republican Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas took off on a cross-country flight Tuesday bound for the Sunshine State ahead of a bitter snowstorm expected to ravage the nation's capital.
Washington, D.C., residents are hunkering down for a bitter winter storm this weekend, clearing shelves in grocery aisles and general stores. Meanwhile, Cruz was spotted on a flight bound for Laguna Beach, California, mirroring a similar trip he took in 2021, when Texas endured a devastating winter storm and power outage.

"Meteorologists use the Waffle House Index to measure disasters," one meteorologist quipped. "Texans use the Ted Cruz Index: If he's on a plane, expect crippling ice, snow or cold."
Notably, the Senate was out of session this week, and a spokesperson for Cruz maintained that he was on a "pre-planned work travel that was scheduled weeks in advance."
"He will be back in Texas before the storm is projected to hit."

With an eye on weather forecasts, DMV locals are stocking up on household essentials, prepping at levels not seen since the COVID-19 pandemic. Photos circulating on social media under the hashtag "snowmaggedon" show long lines and grocery shelves cleared of produce and non-perishables while hardware stores report snow essentials like shovels and even sleds flying off the shelves.
Ahead of the brutal forecast, dozens of states have declared a state of emergency, and officials are urging Americans to prep for the winter storm set to bring ice, sleet, snow, and sub-zero wind chills all over the Northeast and Southern Plains.
Southern states like Texas are at the highest risk of record-breaking low temperatures, but any of the affected areas may have to endure days of sub-zero temperatures if their power goes out.

Stocking up on batteries, food, water, winter clothing, and blankets, as well as refueling cars, is recommended. Also make sure carbon monoxide alarms are functioning, and never run a gas generator inside a home or garage. Officials are also advising those affected to avoid traveling and to monitor any weather developments over the coming days.
"You need to start preparing for an intense winter storm right now," Matt Van Swol of North Carolina said in a post on X. "I did not [heed] the warnings of many people before Hurricane Helene and we were caught totally unprepared. Do not make the same mistakes I did. Please start preparing for extreme cold and no power for at least a few days, right now."

On May 16, House Bill 3441 passed the Texas House and is now pending in the Senate.
“All that this means is if you are going to advertise in this state for your vaccine, then you are going to be held responsible. … If your vaccine harms these people, you're going to be held liable. You don't get immunity here in the state of Texas,” says Sara Gonzales of “Come and Take It.”
If it passes the Senate and is signed into law by Governor Greg Abbott (R), and Sara suspects it will be, it’s a step toward COVID-19 accountability, which we’ve seen very little of thus far.
The bill’s importance comes to life in “Follow the Silenced,” a documentary Sara urges everyone to watch.
“If you want to know why this new bill that was passed by the Texas House is so important, go check out this documentary,”’ she says.
The recently released film follows people who trusted the “experts” in medicine and the government during the COVID-19 pandemic and paid for it with horrific vaccine injuries that range from being “permanently disabled” to “not here on this earth any more.”
Sara plays some of the most disturbing clips from the film.
1. Ernesto Ramirez Jr., 16
Ernesto Ramirez is “a father who will never kiss his son again, never hug his son again, never be able to tell his son I love you ever again,” laments Sara.
Ramirez, not wanting to see his 16-year-old son Jr. get sick, took him in to be vaccinated. He died from myocarditis five days after receiving the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.
“When I got to the hospital, they just acted like nothing. They just said, ‘Oh, your son's dead,’ like it meant nothing,” says a sobbing Ramirez.
Myocarditis was a known side effect of the COVID-19 vaccine, but it was downplayed as a rare and mild condition that could be solved with a quick scan and some ibuprofen.
“There is no such thing as mild myocarditis,” says Sara. “I spoke to one of the most world-renowned, most published cardiac doctors in the world, Peter McCullough. … I asked him, ‘Is there such a thing as mild myocarditis?’ He said, ‘Absolutely not. … There's no mild anything when it comes to damaging the heart."’
Further, “Children were not prone to any sort of long-term, devastating effects from [COVID-19],” and yet the vaccine, which was a far greater risk to children’s health, was pushed on them anyway.
2. Maddie DeGary, 12
Maddie DeGary was a normal, healthy 12-year-old when her parents enrolled her in Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine trial for adolescents.
After her first booster shot, Maddie started experiencing strange symptoms, like “electrical shocks going through her body” and “ice cold, swollen” fingers. This eventually developed into frequent fainting spells and trouble breathing.
Horrifying video footage from the documentary shows Maddie passing out, gasping for air, and sobbing, as her dad screams in the background.
“Her parents trusted the experts and trusted the government, and her life now will never be the same,” says Sara.
3. Houston Methodist Hospital whistleblower Jennifer Bridges
Jennifer Bridges was an intensive care unit nurse who was fired from Houston Methodist Hospital for refusing the COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Following her firing, she became a prominent figure speaking out against the mandate, arguing that it violated personal choice and wasn’t safe.
“20-, 30-year-old people — perfectly healthy, no comorbidities, very active — were coming in, and they've got a blood clot in each leg, one in each side of the lung, covered in [deep vein thromboses] or [pulmonary embolisms] and blood clots. That doesn't happen,” she says. “Then you look at their chart, and there's no reason for this to happen, but when you go to their vaccine history, sure enough, you'd see, oh, they took the shot a week ago.”
Video footage shows medical staff examining enormous blood clots they had removed from one of these patients.
“I would just really strongly encourage you guys to go watch this documentary,” says Sara. “Bring your kleenex; bring your tissues with you. It’s gut-wrenching, but it's just so important that everyone hears these people's stories so we make sure that this never happens again.”

Sacrificing children on the altar of science: How the COVID-19 response hurt our most vulnerable
When COVID-19 washed up on American shores, everyone, including children, were believed by the top scientists in the country to be at grave risk. However, once the threat to children was found to be minimal, children instead became suspected of being “super spreaders.”
“Empirical evidence was being ignored, and instead, the officials were following theory. They made up all sorts of contrived reasons,” David Zweig, investigative journalist and author of “An Abundance of Caution: American Schools, the Virus, and a Story of Bad Decisions,” tells Allie Beth Stuckey of “Relatable.”
Despite the fearmongering surrounding schools reopening and children’s status as “super spreaders,” the fact that cases went down in places like Europe after children went back to school didn’t phase the scientists.
“What that does suggest, of course, is that children were not super spreaders, schools were not driving the pandemic,” Zweig tells Stuckey. “The point is, the evidence was there that this wasn’t dangerous, this wasn’t increasing cases, and it was ignored, and it was dismissed with these contrived reasons.”
While the mainstream media and “the science” was focused on the potential harm faced by the immunocompromised, what they didn’t seem to care about was how social isolation, masks, and digital learning would affect children in the most formative years of their lives.
“There is something disordered in asking kids to sacrifice on behalf of adults,” Stuckey tells Zweig, adding, “There is something inherently unjust about that.”
“What they aren’t understanding, perhaps, is the incredible harm on so many children, millions of kids, and you have to think about what kind of society, as you said, what kind of society does this to children?” Zweig agrees.
“No one was saved by long-term school closures. No one was saved from masking 2-year-olds. No one was saved by barriers on desks and all this other nonsense. This was only harm. No trade-off. No benefit,” he continues.
“Even beyond the horrors of child abuse,” he says, which he notes became more prevalent during COVID, “there were plenty of kids who became anorexic and bulimic, screen time skyrocketed during the pandemic and never kind of went back down, anxiety, depression.”
"I talked with a lot of mental health professionals for children. Their practices were exploding during the pandemic, and it wasn’t because of people dying, let me be very clear about that. It was directly correlated with kids being kept out of school,” he explains.
Politicians like Governor Andrew Cuomo (D-N.Y.) claimed that their hard stance on COVID was only so strict because it was worth it to save even one life — but Zweig knows that couldn’t be further from the truth.
“You’re taking one or more lives to ostensibly try to save that one life. It was extraordinarily foolish,” Zweig says.
“Toxic empathy,” Stuckey chimes in. “It blinds you to reality and morality, and you ignore the victim on the other side of the moral equation.”
