18-wheeler speeding the wrong direction on highway was driven by — you guessed it

The suspected driver of the 18-wheeler filmed on Wednesday speeding in the wrong direction down a stretch of highway in Missouri has been identified as a Minnesota-based Somali migrant.

Lincoln County Prosecuting Attorney Mike Wood indicated that while he was not immediately taken into custody, Abdiasis Ibrahim Ali, 38, has been charged with driving the wrong direction on a divided highway and operating a motor vehicle in a careless manner.

'He wasn't able to read.'

The prosecutor noted further that a no-bound warrant for Ali's arrest has been requested and that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has been notified.

X user MolonLabeBTC shared footage on Wednesday showing a truck barreling southbound down Highway 61 — in one of the northbound lanes. The X user claimed that he began following the "foreign invader" after the truck nearly hit him "head on" and that the incident took place roughly five miles north of Troy.

Sgt. Dallas Thompson of the Missouri State Highway Patrol stated, "We were glad someone saw this yesterday and called it in to try to get resources there to get the vehicle stopped," reported KMOV-TV.

After the driver crossed over to the southbound lane, a state trooper reportedly stopped him and conducted a roadside inspection.

"During that test, the trooper noticed he wasn't able to read and comprehend the road signs," said Thompson.

Having been found incapable of demonstrating basic reading comprehension and proficiency in English, "the driver was taken out of service," added Thompson.

After Ali was taken out of service, his co-driver, Abdulahi Abshir Alim — who was apparently in the "sleeper" at the time of the incident — took over, said Wood.

Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy indicated that despite his apparent inability to read road signs, the driver was in possession of a Minnesota commercial driver’s license.

Duffy noted further that the driver's carrier, Cargo Transportation LLC, is now under investigation.

Department of Transportation records indicate that Cargo Transportation is based in Hopkins, Minnesota — in what appears to be an apartment complex — and has two drivers who drove over 81,000 miles in 2024. As of Friday, the company's USDOT status was still listed as "active."

Blaze News was unable to reach the company for comment.

The trailer apparently hauled by the Somali is owned by Taylor Trucking Lines whose vice president said in a statement obtained by KMOV, "The driver is not an employee or contractor of Taylor Trucking Lines. He is a contractor for Cargo Transportation. The driver was fired shortly after the video was seen."

The incident took place the day after President Donald Trump called on lawmakers to "pass what we will call the Dalilah Law, barring any state from granting commercial driver's licenses to illegal aliens."

The proposed legislation takes its name from Dalilah Coleman, a little girl grievously injured in a car accident that was allegedly caused by an illegal alien from India who reportedly obtained a commercial driver's license from California Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom's Department of Motor Vehicles.

According to the USDOT, roughly 200,000 truckers hold non-domiciled CDLs, and over 14,000 truckers have been kicked out of service for failing to meet basic language requirements since the department brought back English proficiency tests in May 2025.

Beloved NASCAR legend Greg Biffle dies in horrific plane crash, police believe

Iconic NASCAR driver Greg Biffle died in a plane crash on Thursday in a horrific incident that reportedly involved his family members.

Biffle, 55, had 56 NASCAR national series wins throughout his career, including two championships.

'We are devastated. I'm so sorry to share this.'

On Thursday, Statesville Regional Airport in North Carolina reported that an aircraft had crashed while landing at 10:15 a.m.

The FAA arrived to investigate the incident at around 12 p.m., the airport stated.

Iredell County officials soon confirmed the plane crash, with the county sheriff confirming that several people had died in the crash, according to WCNC-TV. WCCB-TV later reported that multiple witnesses and family friends confirmed that Biffle and his wife were on the plane.

Jordan Bianchi, motorsports reporter for the Athletic, wrote on X that North Carolina State Highway Patrol stated there were seven total fatalities from the crash and that they "believe that Mr. Greg Biffle was one of the deceased occupants."

Garrett Mitchell, a YouTuber who goes by the name Cleetus McFarland and has over 4.5 million subscribers, made a Facebook post with similar remarks.

"Unfortunately, I can confirm Greg Biffle, his wife Cristina, daughter Emma, and son Ryder were on that plane ... because they were on their way to spend the afternoon with us. We are devastated. I'm so sorry to share this," Mitchell wrote.

Mitchell lives in Florida, and Biffle's plane was reportedly headed to Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport in Florida before it crashed, with the airport CEO issuing a statement.

"We are deeply saddened by the news of the Cessna C550 aircraft crash at Statesville Regional Airport in North Carolina and en route to SRQ this morning. Our thoughts and prayers are with those on board and with their families and loved ones during this difficult time. Our thoughts also go out to the first responders who we know are diligently working to assist all those involved," the statement said.

Last year, Mitchell and Biffle teamed up to deliver disaster relief supplies in North Carolina via helicopter after Hurricane Helene devastated western North Carolina.

Flight logs reportedly showed that the aircraft was traveling over 100 mph at the time of the crash, WCCB stated. The plane was described as a Cessna C550 business jet with tail number N257BW. The outlet also confirmed the plane belonged to Biffle.

Republican Rep. Richard Hudson (N.C.) wrote on X that he was "devastated by the loss of Greg, Cristina, and their children, and my heart is with all who loved them."

The congressman added, "They were friends who lived their lives focused on helping others. Greg was a great NASCAR champion who thrilled millions of fans. But he was an extraordinary person as well, and will be remembered for his service to others as much as for his fearlessness on the track."

Biffle was named one of NASCAR's 75 Greatest Drivers in 2023 for his "spectacular start in the 1990s" that ran through the 2000s.

"Though Biffle has stepped away from full-time competition at the NASCAR national level, the longtime veteran made five starts in 2022, including the season-opening Daytona 500. His last full season was in 2016," NASCAR wrote.

16-year-old suspected driver arrested after store worker, 60, run over repeatedly, killed while trying to stop shoplifting

A 16-year-old suspected get-away driver was arrested Friday after a Southern California store worker, 60, was beaten up, run over repeatedly, and killed while trying to stop a robbery earlier this month.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's investigators are trying to identify several other suspects seen in the vehicle during and after the April 9 incident that took the life of Kourosh "Steve" Yaghoubi, who was helping at his brother's store in South El Monte, KABC-TV reported.

'I was there at the last minute of his life. I saw his face. I saw his eyes.'

The suspect reportedly asked Yaghoubi for a $10 box of masks and then walked out of the Giant Discount store in the 2000 block of Durfee without paying, the station said.

Yaghoubi chased after the shoplifter, KABC said, after which Yaghoubi was physically attacked in the parking lot.

"Doors open, two other guys exit the car, and one of them punches my brother in the head, he holds his head, and he goes down," Yaghoubi's brother Jim told the station.

The three males then got back into the car and ran over Yaghoubi, KABC said — first as they backed out of the parking space and again as they sped off.

"The body under the car was turning, all the way from the front tire to the back tire," Jim recalled to the station, which said he watched his brother's life get taken away.

"I don't know why this happened," Jim also told KABC, adding that "I was there at the last minute of his life. I saw his face. I saw his eyes."

Paramedics pronounced Yaghoubi dead at the scene, KTLA-TV reported.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office will determine if charges are filed against the 16-year-old male suspect, whose identity was not released, KABC said.

You can view KABC's video report here. You can view initial video reports here and here.

Those with information about this incident are asked to contact the LASD's Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500, KABC said.

VIDEO: Heavily armed leftists surround, threaten lone Portland motorist. But when fed-up driver points his own gun at them, all hell breaks loose.

Heavily armed leftists apparently acting as security for a march in Portland earlier this week pointed their guns at a lone motorist and threatened him before the fed-up driver exited his truck and pointed his own gun at them — and then all hell broke loose.

What are the details?

Video showed a large group of leftist militants marching down a Portland street Wednesday reportedly to remember Patrick Kimmons, a black man fatally shot by Portland police in 2018.

But a vehicle apparently leading the group came upon a pickup truck driver who was traveling toward the marchers, and the lead vehicle blocked the driver's path — and in seconds, numerous militants descended upon the pickup truck driver and began threatening him.

Thing is, though, the driver had a gun, too — and the heavily armed militants didn't like that one bit.

"You better f***ing not!" one leftist was heard yelling at the driver. "Put your f***ing gun down!"

The driver, standing behind his truck door, pointed at one particularly well-strapped leftist and twice yelled back, "You got about five seconds to lower that f***ing weapon!"

The lone driver — who faced about a half dozen armed leftists in the standoff — jawed with the hostile group, calling them "c**ksuckers" and "f***in' idiots" and repeatedly ordering them to "shut up."

One leftist told the driver that his "vehicle is a deadly weapon" — which didn't go over too well with the driver who noted all the rifles pointed in his direction.

As the driver got back into this truck and began to move past the militants, one leftist called him a "f***ing Nazi" as others demanded he "get outta here!" Then just before he reached the intersection — apparently after one of the leftists hit or threw something at his truck — the driver stopped, got out, and confronted the group.

The situation grew tense, with many people screaming, and the driver grabbed his gun and moved forward on one of the rifle-wielding leftists —

— who promptly shoved the driver backward.

With that, the driver regained his footing and drew his gun on the group.

But he was tackled from behind after which numerous militants piled on him.

Soon the driver was requesting an ambulance, asking for his gun back, and telling the leftists that he's a disabled Marine.

Here's the video. (Content warning: Language):

While Oregon is an open-carry state, gun owners cannot do so in Portland unless they are concealed carry license holders and their guns are not loaded.

But wait! There was more fun!

If you thought that was enough left-wing lawlessness for one day, there's video of the same armed group attacking a different vehicle whose driver didn't obey their orders and moved through and past their blockade.

As you can imagine, the militants didn't like that too much — and apparently broke the red SUV's windows and punctured at least two of its tires while managing to get the driver to stop.

"You f***ed with the wrong f***in' people, bro!" one particularly erudite leftist hollered at the motorist.

The militants claimed one of their comrades was hit by the SUV and continued to threaten the driver. Eventually the apparently injured motorist exited the vehicle as one of the militants said on camera they were giving medical aid to him.

Here's the clip of that confrontation. (Content warning: Language):

What did police have to say?

Portland police said they were called Wednesday around noon about a pedestrian struck by a vehicle near North Interstate Avenue and North Killingsworth Street. But police said they found no pedestrians who claimed to have been struck.

Police said they knew the reported incident was related to the march, which they said had moved away into nearby streets by the time they arrived at the scene — and added that the march featured some people "openly carrying firearms."

More from the police:

Additional calls came in from people who had been driving vehicles in the area and who were blocked by the crowd in the street. One person said people in the crowd broke out their vehicle windows, damaged tires, and sprayed them with some kind of irritant near North Interstate Avenue and North Killingsworth Street.

A person in another vehicle blocked by the crowd near North Alberta Street and North Michigan Avenue got into a dispute with people who surrounded him and took a firearm from him, as well as tools and keys.

Portland Police attempted to collect as many statements as possible from those involved. Officers will document as much of the incidents as witnesses share and will attempt to gather available evidence, including video for follow-up on any criminal allegations.

One person was transported by ambulance to the hospital following one of the altercations.

NYPD officer — beloved husband and father of 2 — fatally struck by allegedly drunk driver

Loved ones and strangers are mourning the death of NYPD Officer Anastasios Tsakos, a beloved husband and father of two young children who died in the early hours of Tuesday morning after being hit by an allegedly drunk driver while directing traffic.

What are the details?

The New York Times reported that Tsakos, 43, was struck at around 2:00 a.m. while working to divert traffic from a separate fatality accident, and was sent airborne before landing in a grassy area as the driver who hit him took off with a "completely shattered" windshield.

Tsakos was a 14-year veteran of the department, and he leaves behind his wife, 3-year-old son, and 6-year-old daughter.

Neighbors told WCBS-TV that Tsakos was a dedicated family man, and expressed their sadness over the tragedy.

"An amazing father, husband, and we saw him every day," Rosemarie Giancalone told the outlet. "He brought us food and went to the supermarket, whatever you guys need." Giancalone's partner, Simone, said that the officer had even helped them "put up the molding" in their house.

Simone said Tsakos "was a super dedicated father with his kids," and would often play with the children in his driveway.

The outlet further reported:

NYPD widows with the group Survivors of the Shield rushed to the home to let the officer's grieving wife know they are there for her always.

"We just want them to know they're not alone, we've all been through it. But every circumstance is different, and privacy is important to her. She's still trying to accept what happened," Maggine McDonald said.

What else?

The person accused of fatally hitting Tsakos is Jessica Beauvais, 32, who authorities say was driving while intoxicated on a suspended license.

The Times reported that after fleeing the scene, Beauvais was "surrounded by the police when she left the highway a few exits later," and that "Ms. Beauvais put her car in reverse and rammed the police vehicle behind her before she was taken into custody."

The Daily Mail reported that Beauvais was seen on Facebook live hours before the incident taking shots of what she purportedly later admitted to police was vodka. She reportedly was on a rant during her Facebook message over the Derek Chauvin trial, declaring "f*** the police."

Following her arraignment Tuesday afternoon, Beauvais sobbed while apologizing for Tsakos' death, saying, "I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I hit him and now he's dead."

She has been charged with two counts of vehicular manslaughter, along with one count each of reckless endangerment, leaving an accident resulting in death, driving while intoxicated, fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle, and other charges.

Watch: Driver plows through group of people and into a Taco Bell, injuring three

A disturbing video has gone viral showing a car being driven into a group of individuals standing outside a Taco Bell and into the restaurant lobby, leaving three people injured.

What are the details?

The footage began circulating earlier this week, and shows a handful of people gathered out front of the fast food joint in an apparent confrontation with whomever was in the vehicle. Yelling is heard, and the car is seen revving toward the group before someone shouts, "Blow that b**** up." The vehicle then plows into the people and through the front of the restaurant.

Warning: Graphic footage

According to The Daily Mail, the incident occurred in Waldorf, Maryland, at little after 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday night.

TMZ reported:

According to Charles County law enforcement, the occupants in the vehicle were in an argument with an employee working the drive-thru before the hit-and-run. Cops say they were told one of the suspects got out and assaulted the employee at the window, then got back in the vehicle.
The driver then allegedly pulled up to the front, which is where the vid picks up. Police say 2 people were treated at the scene for injuries and one was taken to the hospital for injuries that are not life-threatening.

WNBC-TV reported that the driver fled the scene following the crash, and authorities later found the vehicle parked at a house near the Taco Bell. The Charles County Sheriff's Office has not yet identified the suspect in the incident, but investigators are reviewing surveillance footage and wants to hear from any witnesses.
