AOC retweets leftist Elie Mystal's claim that violence is the GOP's 'endgame'

After House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's husband Paul was assaulted at his own home, left-wing media figure Elie Mystal claimed that violence is the Republicans' "endgame" — and progressive Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York appeared to endorse the sentiment by retweeting Mystal's post without adding any comment.

"This is the future the Republicans want. It's the future they’ve literally been calling for on television. This is why they are so excited about the new overlord of Twitter. This, the violence, has always been their endgame. And if they win they will only get worse," Mystal tweeted.

Mystal was making the comments while retweeting a tweet from Paul Kane of the Washington Post, who wrote that according to a source, the assailant had asked, "Where is Nancy, where is Nancy?" prior to the attack.

According to a statement from a spokesperson for House Speaker Pelosi, the lawmaker was not in San Francisco when the attack occurred. Paul Pelosi had "successful surgery to repair a skull fracture and serious injuries to his right arm and hands" and is expected to fully recover, according to another statement.

During an appearance on the Fox News Channel, GOP Rep. Michael McCaul of Texas said that he believes allowing criminals out on bail instead of locking them up "created the environment where this happens."

Ocasio-Cortez tweeted in response, "Or maybe a billionaire-fueled propaganda channel that regularly generates high volumes of death threats to elected officials while pumping propaganda for an extreme right-wing that openly embraces fascism is what's creating 'the environment where it happened.'"

Police confirm Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene was 'swatted' after fake 911 call reported shooting at her home

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) was "swatted" early Wednesday morning after an unknown person filed a fake shooting report that led police to respond at Greene's home, authorities said.

"Last night, I was swatted just after 1 a.m. I can’t express enough gratitude to my local law enforcement here in Rome, Floyd County," Greene tweeted Wednesday.

Police officers are investigating after someone placed a 911 call and reported that a subject was shot multiple times at an address within city limits, the Rome Police Department said in a statement.

When officers responded to the location, they discovered it was the congresswoman's home address. Greene informed police that there was no issue, and the call was determined to be a prank commonly known as "swatting," police said.

The Rome Police Department said it received a second 911 call from an individual who used "a computer generated voice" and stated they were upset about Greene's political views on transgender youth rights.

"The Rome Police Department Criminal Investigation Division is working in conjunction with the United States Capital Police on this investigation," police said.

"This is an active investigation and no further information can be released at this time," the department added.

Greene, a firebrand lawmaker known for making highly controversial comments, has agitated the left by forcefully opposing sex-change procedures or cross-sex hormone prescriptions for gender-dysphoric minors. Last week, Greene said she will introduce legislation that would criminalize puberty blockers and sex-change surgeries for children, decrying so-called "gender-affirming care" as "child abuse" and "genital mutilation."

A spokesman for Greene said that safety was her office's "number one concern" after the swatting attack.

"Late last night, she was a victim of a political attack on her family and home. Whoever committed this violent crime will face the full extent of the law," Greene spokesman Nick Dyer told the Rome News-Tribune.

Several prominent left-wing figures cast doubt on Greene's story after she reported what happened Wednesday. Others mocked her and said she deserved to be harassed or questioned whether she staged the incident to "smear trans rights activists."

"If you're wondering why I don't believe that MTG was 'swatted' last night, it's because she's actively trying to fear monger people about the FBI," lawyer Elie Mystal tweeted.

Greene told "The Charlie Kirk Show" Wednesday that the swatting situation was "dangerous" because whoever placed the 911 call said there were children in danger in her home, which put police on high alert.

Far-left liberals turn on Biden for advocating peaceful protests against Supreme Court justices

Many on the far left turned on President Joe Biden and accused him of not doing enough to protect abortion rights after the Supreme Court leak indicating the probable overturn of Roe v. Wade.

"Biden won’t federalize abortion services, won’t even call for a filibuster carve out for abortion rights, and doesn’t think people should be inconveniencing [Supreme Court Justice] Brett Kavanaugh before he casts the deciding forced birth vote… but sure, the real problem is [Sen.] Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.)," tweeted liberal legal commentator Elie Mystal.

The popular tweet garnered over 23k likes and Mystal went on to hammer away on Democrats defending Biden.

"I will vote for Democrats, then criticize Democrats when they suck, then vote for them again, in a little maneuver I call 'BEING CAPABLE OF UNDERSTANDING MULTIPLE F***ING TRUTHS AT THE SAME GODDAMN TIME,'” he added.

Mystal seemed especially angry that White House press secretary Jen Psaki denounced the possibility of violent protests against the conservative justices on the Supreme Court.

"We understand the passion, we understand the concern, but what the president's position is is that that should be peaceful," said Psaki on Thursday.

Others on the left chimed in to support Mystal's anger against Biden.

"It all always starts at the top despite people's hero/savior-worship. Joe's a good guy mostly, but he's just too old and out of touch to give a hoot about our crisis it seems. Just like the DOJ, he says words, then goes about in la-la-land," replied another critic.

"I agree with this. Dems need to be 100% unified and fight together on this. You know the GOP is. It's an absolute disgrace the messaging that's coming from the White House on this," said another social media user.

"Democrats losing abortion rights while having the Presidency, the House, and the Senate, is going to wake a lot of people up to how f***ing useless they are," said another detractor.

"Joe Biden is working harder to defend Brett Kavanaugh than abortion rights," replied a user identifying herself as a feminist.

Herschel Walker invites progressive who viciously attacked him to 'break bread,' gets an utterly contemptuous response

Georgia Republican Senate candidate Herschel Walker graciously invited progressive journalist Elie Mystal to meet him and "break bread" after Mystal viciously attacked Walker's candidacy, but the offer was snubbed.

Walker, a legendary former University of Georgia running back and NFL star, is the current frontrunner for the GOP Senate nomination in Georgia. Former President Donald Trump heavily lobbied for Walker to enter politics and has endorsed his campaign, but state Republicans have expressed concerns that as a political novice, Walker will struggle against Democratic attacks on his past struggles with mental illness and exaggerated business record.

Mystal, a justice correspondent for the Nation, brutally attacked Walker's Senate campaign in a column declaring he "is an animated caricature of a Black person drawn by white conservatives."

"Walker is what they think of us, and they think we’re big, ignorant, and easily manipulated," Mystal, a black man, claimed. "They think we’re shady or criminal. They think we’re tools to be used. The Walker campaign exists as a political minstrel show: a splashy rendition of what white Republicans think Black people look and sound like."

He savaged Walker with personal attacks, writing that he "displays a level of ignorance that would embarrass most sixth graders."

"The modern Republican Party has proven that being an ignorant know-nothing who exists as a pure grievance candidate with no policies or platform is not a deal breaker for Republican voters," Mystal asserted, among other insults the New York City liberal threw at GOP voters in Georgia and elsewhere.

On Thursday, Walker was interviewed on "Fox News" by Sean Hannity and asked about the article. He shook off the attacks.

“I know I signed up for this when I decided to run,” he said.

“It doesn’t matter what he called me,” Walker said, criticizing Democratic policies as wrong for Georgians. “I was bullied when I was a little kid. Words are not going to hurt me right now.”

“I’m the most qualified candidate for this race right now and I’m the most qualified candidate to represent Georgia as a United State Senator. So it doesn’t matter what you say. I know what I’ve done,” he argued, defending his record.

“I’m not going to have you bully me, because you can’t,” he said. And then he made an offer to Mystal: “What I would love to do for you to take the time to come down to Georgia, we sit down and break bread.”

“I’m about bringing people together, not separating people, when it seems like you are … that’s not Herschel Walker," he finished.

Mystal responded after the interview, declining Walker's offer and accusing the candidate of running away from debates with other Republicans and with Georgia's Democratic Senator Raphael Warnock, whom Walker seeks to unseat.

"I'm not looking for a Senator, not a goddamn buddy," Mystal wrote on Twitter.

All right, let's unpack this a sec. Taking the man at his word, the offer to drive down to.. Texas, to "break bread" with him fundamentally misunderstands the nature of the job he's applying for and my criticisms.\nPut simply: I'm not looking for a Senator, not a goddamn buddy.https://twitter.com/atrupar/status/1514781921544323076\u00a0\u2026

"I do not care, nor should anyone else, if Walker if fun to have a beer with. We should care about Walker's policies. And when you look at Walker's policies, we find the MAGA gobbledygook stew, injected with Covid misinformation, drizzled in grievance, served on a bed of lies," he continued.

The progressive journalist claimed that he was "an easy target" for Walker and asserted "He'd much rather be fighting with me than: fighting with other Republicans, or Democrats, or talking to his constituents, or studying."

"So *sadly*, I must decline Walker's offer and this transparent attempt to distract people from his own cowardice and unwillingness to defend his policies in public. I respect the people of Georgia more than he does, and will not use this clown to raise my profile at their expense," he said, dripping with contempt over a simple invitation to dinner.

Audio debunks viral claim 'falsely smearing' Neil Gorsuch over transcription error

Political commentators, reporters, and at least one media organization distributed clear misinformation about Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch on Friday.

The misinformation circulated on the same day the Supreme Court heard oral arguments for President Joe Biden's constitutionally questionable vaccine mandate. But audio of Gorsuch from the hearing clarified that he did not, in fact, say what was claimed.

What happened?

Elie Mystal, a far-left political commentator who routinely appears on MSNBC, claimed that Gorsuch alleged during oral arguments that the seasonal flu kills hundreds of thousands of people each year.

"NO IT DOES NOT. STOP GETTING YOUR MEDICAL STATS FROM FOX NEWS," Mystal blasted, adding links to information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention about the seasonal flu.

"I know Gorsuch, nor any conservative, nor any 'omg I'm bored and want to go to the movies' person, will APOLOGIZE for their consistent Covid misinformation, but Covid is ORDERS OF MAGNITUDE more deadly then the GOD***N FLU," Mystal added.

Mystal's tweet, which generated more than 10,000 "retweets" and 65,000 "likes," was amplified by far-left journalist Aaron Rupar.

"The flu kills about 30,000 Americans each year. I'm kinda surprised Gorsuch would broadcast his ignorance like this. I looked this up with help from Google in about 10 seconds," Rupar said while quoting Mystal's tweet.

Newsweek also circulated the claim. "Justice Neil Gorsuch Slammed After He Suggests Flu Kills 'Hundreds of Thousands' Each Year," a headline at the news outlet read.

But what is the truth?

Gorsuch did not say the seasonal flu kills "hundreds of thousands" of people each year. Audio from the oral arguments makes this year.

In fact, the audio demonstrates that Gorsuch made a clear pause between saying "hundreds" and "thousands," and he did not say "of" in between each number.

"Flu kills, I believe, hundreds, thousands of people every year," Gorsuch said.

In posting the audio of Gorsuch, commentator Phil Kerpen said, "Hey genises. You are falsely smearing Justice Gorsuch for a TRANSCRIPTION ERROR. ... Correct and retract your false stories."

Hey geniuses. However, the official Supreme Court transcript recorded Gorsuch as saying "hundreds of thousands." Transcripts, though, are not always correct, and are often edited to correct the record.

AG William Barr authorizes prosecutors to investigate 'substantial allegations' of election fraud

Attorney General William Barr authorized prosecutors on Monday to look into allegations of election fraud in a letter after the media called the election despite claims of voting irregularities in several contests.

The Associated Press reported that the memo from Barr instructed prosecutors that investigations "may be conducted if there are clear and apparently-credible allegations of irregularities that, if true, could potentially impact the outcome of a federal election in an individual State."

However, he also cautioned against pursuing less credible claims.

"While serious allegations should be handled with great care, specious, speculative, fanciful or far-fetched claims should not be a basis for initiating federal inquiries," Barr wrote.

Media outlets called the election on Saturday for former Vice President Joe Biden based on a projection from reported vote counts, but President Donald Trump has claimed numerous times that he won by a large margin and that Democrats are attempting to steal the election.

Some supporters of the president praised the development.

"GREAT news from the DOJ & AG William Barr," tweeted Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.). "Every legal vote should be counted. Every fraudulent vote should be removed."

"Barr lives!" said BlazeTV host Steve Deace.

Others, like CNN legal analyst Elie Honig, saw the move as a politically motivated weaponization of the Department of Justice.

"Barr already has turned DOJ into a political weapon for Trump," tweeted Honig.

"Now he has crossed the last line of independence, and violated DOJ's own policy, by using the prosecutorial power to try to gin up support for Trump's desperate, last-ditch fraud narrative," he claimed. "He's way off the rails now."

While others pointed to a sentence in the statement that emphasized the DOJ had not yet confirmed any fraud that had changed the election.

"Nothing here should be taken as any indication that the Department has concluded that voting irregularities have impacted the outcome of any election," wrote Barr.

The states have until Dec. 9 to finalize their results and resolve any disputes. On Dec. 14, the Electoral College will finalize the outcome of the election.
