On-duty Boston cop gets hurt barreling down massive slide, while his equipment flies: 'Oh f***'

An on-duty Boston Police officer injured himself while taking a tumble down a giant metal slide at Boston's City Hall Plaza.

The new slide is a popular spot for kids, according to the Boston Globe, where children have to climb three levels of obstacles in order to get to the steep, metallic contraption.

This endeavor was not too difficult for a local Boston cop, however, but it did reveal that the slide is indeed dangerous for adults. Signs at the playground reportedly say that the slide is “not intended for adult use” and should only be used by kids ages 5-12, according to the New York Post.

In the video posted to Twitter and TikTok, loud banging is heard from inside the tube slide, later revealed to be the officer flying down the metal slide face-down. The officer makes contact with the bottom of the slide before skidding to a stop on the rubber playground surface below.

What appeared to be the cop's pepper spray, handcuffs, and radio fly off of his body, although the radio remained attached by its cord. He is then heard saying "Oh f***" while he gathers himself to his feet.

A Boston Police spokesman confirmed the video as well as the reported minor injuries that followed from the incident.

"He was on duty, he used his own private insurance, and he didn't miss any time," the spokesman told TheBlaze.

Online reactions ranged from laughter to disappointment that the officer was partaking in stunts while on duty.

"Good to see them hard at work," said one viewer.

"What was he doing there?" asked another woman.

Former NHL player and podcaster Ryan Whitney reportedly had posted the video, but said he took it down after he was begged to remove it.

"I just deleted what I think is one of the funniest videos of all time. I was begged to take it down. Sad," Whitney wrote.

Other adults have been injured trying to complete the feat of the children's slide. One woman posted a TikTok video of her coming out of the tube face-first as well, resulting in a head injury of her own.

Radical gender ideology adherents claim to experience 'gender euphoria' from using voice filter feature on TikTok

TikTok is offering users the ability to apply voice filters to videos, and the feature is being celebrated by proponents of radical leftist gender ideology.

"I remember filming a video and immediately sobbing after hearing myself speak with such a feminine tone and just feeling the gender euphoria flow through me," transgender woman Kloe Rose said, according to NBC News. "It’s not something I ever imagined I’d get to experience." The filter makes it simpler for individuals to "disguise their natural voice and then they can build confidence knowing they have control over how they appear on social media," Rose said.

@glowlikekloe

Wow I’m actually in love with it 😭 #voicefilter #trans #fyp

A feminine-sounding "Jessie" filter supplies the same voice as the one used for a text-to-speech feature on TikTok, according to NBC News, which also mentioned two voice options which it described as sounding masculine.

"It's a little weird because ['Jessie'] isn’t a feminized version of your voice … but watching it back, it's my voice and my face and it matched up perfectly,” Ann Rios said, according to the outlet.

NBC News said that Kel, a nonbinary individual who requested to be identified using a nickname out of fear for personal safety, indicated that the voice filter feature supplied a "moment of gender euphoria."

"Hearing it sound as if I were born a guy was very appealing to me," Kel said. "My voice isn't something I thought could be improved, but the filter proved me wrong."

Individuals who identify as transgender can pursue speech therapy or even get surgery to alter their voices. "Transgender voice therapy and surgery, also known as gender affirming voice care, involves treatments to help transgender individuals adapt their voices to achieve communication patterns that match their gender identity. Treatments can help change vocal characteristics and nonverbal communication patterns," according to the Mayo Clinic. "In some cases, surgery to alter pitch may be an option."

'Dress coded at Disney': Woman's revealing top triggers woke Disney employees

A Florida woman's video showing that she was allegedly flagged for wearing a revealing top at Disney World in Orlando has gone viral on TikTok.

The video, which has garnered more than 9 million views, shows TikTok user Tori Cannella following a park employee into a store, where she was issued a modest T-shirt to wear instead of her long-sleeved crop top with a loosely fastened front.

“So yeah just experienced getting dress coded at disney,” the video caption reads.

@toragrams i mean, I kinda agree w them looking back at this video. #fyp #foryou #foryoupage #WomenOwnedBusiness #OscarsAtHome #SeeHerGreatness #VenmoSpringBreak ♬ Thinking with My Dick (feat. Juicy J) - Kevin Gates

Even Cannella "kinda agree[d]" that her flimsy shirt wasn't especially appropriate in a park meant mostly for little kids, but it's worth pointing out here that this sudden need to protect children's innocence is coming from the same company that recently lost their woke minds over Florida's "Parental Rights in Education" bill, which gives parents the right to choose what their 5- to 8-year-olds do and don't learn about "sexual orientation or gender identity" in public schools.

The bill has misleadingly been labeled the "Don't Say Gay" bill by Democrats and left-wing critics, but as Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) has pointed out on more than one occasion, the bill isn't about banning the word "gay," but about empowering parents and keeping age-inappropriate lessons out of kindergarten through third-grade classrooms. But this hasn't stopped Disney's woke employees from going after DeSantis, accusing the governor of "bullying" and generally freaking out over a bill they obviously haven't read.

Here's the introduction to the bill:

Parental Rights in Education; Requires district school boards to adopt procedures that comport with certain provisions of law for notifying student's parent of specified information; requires such procedures to reinforce fundamental right of parents to make decisions regarding upbringing & control of their children; prohibits school district from adopting procedures or student support forms that prohibit school district personnel from notifying parent about specified information or that encourage student to withhold from parent such information; prohibits school district personnel from discouraging or prohibiting parental notification & involvement in critical decisions affecting student's mental, emotional, or physical well-being; prohibits classroom discussion about sexual orientation or gender identity in certain grade levels; requires school districts to notify parents of healthcare services; authorizes parent to bring action against school district to obtain declaratory judgment; provides for additional award of injunctive relief, damages, & reasonable attorney fees & court costs to certain parents.

Fed chairman says inflation is 'much too high,' is prepared to address it through continued rate hikes

On Monday, Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell vowed to take tough action against inflation.

“The labor market is very strong, and inflation is much too high,” Powell said when addressing the National Association for Business Economics, CNBC reported.

His comments come less than one week after the country’s central bank raised interest rates for the first time in more than three years as it struggles to battle 40-year-high rates of inflation.

Powell said that the Federal Reserve would continue to hike interest rates until inflation comes under control. He said that the rate hikes might need to be even higher than previously thought.

“We will take the necessary steps to ensure a return to price stability,” Powell said.

“In particular, if we conclude that it is appropriate to move more aggressively by raising the federal funds rate by more than 25 basis points at a meeting or meetings, we will do so,” he continued, “And if we determine that we need to tighten beyond common measures of neutral and into a more restrictive stance, we will do that as well.”

Federal Reserve officials noted that a “basis point is equal to 0.01%.”

The increased urgency for policy tightening comes as the consumer price index denotes inflation running at 7.9% on a 12-month basis, while gauges more favorable to the country’s central bank indicate that prices are up over 5.2%.

The Federal Reserve aims for an annual target of 2%.

Powell attributes much of the ongoing pressure the economy is suffering to the COVID-19 pandemic and factors stemming from it that disrupted the flow of goods and services.

Powell has previously suggested that during the pandemic, there was a disproportionate, escalated demand for goods over services that global supply chains could not account for.

He acknowledged that officials from the country’s central bank and many economists “widely underestimated” how long economic pressures stemming from the pandemic would last.

“It continues to seem likely that hoped-for supply-side healing will come over time as the world ultimately settles into some new normal, but the timing and scope of that relief are highly uncertain,” Powell said.

“In the meantime,” he continued, “as we set policy, we will be looking to actual progress on these issues and not assuming significant near-term supply-side relief.”

Powell indicated that the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine is contributing to factors distressing the global economy as it continues to exasperate pre-existing issues with the supply chain.

After Powell’s remarks to the association, stocks fell and Treasury yields rose.

Woman self-isolates in airplane bathroom for 4 hours after testing positive mid-flight

A schoolteacher from Michigan recently went to great lengths to keep from spreading COVID-19 — voluntarily spending four hours cramped inside an airplane bathroom after testing positive for the pathogen on her way to Iceland.

Marisa Fotieo said she was halfway through her Icelandair flight from Chicago to Reykjavik last week when she felt her throat start to hurt. So she pulled out a rapid testing kit that she had brought from him and diagnosed herself.

"I just took my rapid test and I brought it into the bathroom, and within what felt like two seconds there were two lines (indicating a positive test)," Fotieo told "Today" after a post on TikTok documenting the experience went viral.

The video, which has been viewed more than 3 million times, shows the vaccinated schoolteacher hunkered down in the tiny airplane bathroom while traveling 30,000 feet over the Atlantic Ocean.

@marisaefotieo

Shout out to @Icelandair for my VIP quarantine quarters.. #luxuryliving #imsolucky #covid #vaccinated #fyp #viralvideotiktok #quarantine

Upon receiving her diagnosis, Fotieo, who works as a preschool teacher in Chicago, apparently opted to remain in the plane's bathroom stall for the remainder of the flight.

"There [were] 150 people on the flight, and my biggest fear was giving it to them," she told "Today."

In her TikTok post's caption, Fotieo jokingly wrote, "Shout out to @Icelandair for my VIP quarantine quarters," with hashtags #luxuryliving and #imsolucky.

Thankfully, the teacher said a kind flight attendant named Ragnhildur "Rocky" Eiríksdóttir provided her with care during the flight, bringing her snacks and beverages and periodically checking in on her to make sure she was alright.

That same flight attendant even sent gifts to Fotieo upon her arrival in Reykjavik, where Fotieo checked into a Red Cross hotel to continue her quarantine.

"She bought me flowers and a little Christmas tree with lights so I could hang it," she recalled. "It was so heartfelt, and she’s just an angel."

Fotieo was reportedly traveling with relatives over Christmas break when her trip was drastically altered.

Her rearranged travel plans came as the rise of the Omicron variant created chaos for travelers across the globe. As more and more airline workers tested positive for the virus over the holidays, major airlines in the U.S. and elsewhere abruptly canceled thousands of flights.

Male HS student crowned homecoming queen as crowd erupts in wild cheers: 'It was literally like a dream'

Zachary Willmore was crowned this year's homecoming queen at Rock Bridge High School in Columbia, Missouri — the first male to win the title at the school, KOMU-TV reported.

What are the details?

"It was literally like a dream," Wilmore — a senior and varsity cheerleader — told the station. "It was just really special to me."

Willmore told KOMU he posted an Instagram poll asking his followers if he should be king or queen: "They thought queen could look prettier on the sash. So I chose queen."

Here's a clip showing the moment Willmore — decked out in a sparkling gold dress — got the news:

@zachwillmore

Reply to @poopacus thank you guys so much for all the support I’ve received I can’t explain how happy I am tonight💕 #fyp #queen #homecoming #gay #viral #lgbt

Moments later he celebrated his win with what appear to be supportive competitors for the queen crown.

"We look gorgeous," Willmore said in the video selfie. "Have a wonderful day, cuties."

@zachwillmore

He told KOMU that fellow students didn't make things difficult for him, noting that his win "showed that people actually did care about me. It was the final stepping stone for me to be like, 'People like me.' I feel happy."

A giant TikTok following

While Willmore made some headlines for his homecoming queen win, the station noted that he's also a big-time TikTok user with over a million followers. KOMU said Willmore has posted videos of outfits he's worn at school that have led to dress code violations.

"Teachers were allowed to make the call of what was appropriate," Willmore told the station. "Many times I did feel like they could target students, and I did feel targeted in some scenarios."

He added to KOMU that some hate followed after his homecoming queen victory: "After I won, my TikTok account was reported and banned for a couple days."

But Willmore got a lot of love as well, noting a moment when he saw his grandparents among the homecoming game attendees.

"My grandparents were there that day, and I hadn't really formally come out to them. I was really nervous about that," Willmore recalled to the station. "I saw them in the crowd, and they were crying which made me really happy when they called my name. It made the win a lot sweeter."

Hospital security guard who was fired over viral video of him confronting belligerent, unruly woman is ‘heartbroken’ over dismissal — but has no regrets over conduct

A former Oklahoma hospital security guard who lost his job after video of him confronting a belligerent woman went viral is speaking out about his termination, saying that he is "heartbroken" over losing his job.

What are the details?

Jose "Tony" Martinez, the former guard, told KOKI-TV that he loved his job and was "heartbroken" after having been terminated, Newsweek reported.

The incident took place about six months ago at a Hillcrest-area hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, when an unnamed woman began screaming at another woman in an emergency room waiting room.

Video captured the moment Martinez approached the woman and demanded that she "stay away from other people."

The woman then walked over to another chair in the waiting area. Martinez followed, and warned her to "stay in the f***ing chair or get the f*** out."

"Do that again, I'll kick you out myself," he added.

The video gained momentum earlier this month after it appeared on TikTok.

The video has been viewed more than 17 million times at the time of this reporting.

Damn the ER be wildin in Tulsa. #fyp

What else?

Martinez told KOKI that he had worked at the hospital for nearly six years before his unceremonious firing and stands by his response to the woman in the clip, whom he reportedly asked several times to be respectful to staff and fellow patients.

"She started getting confrontational with patients in the lobby," he explained, "saying some rude stuff and being very mean."

Of the firing, Martinez said, "I was heartbroken. I would have been there six years in January."

TikTok user Grant Kinsey, a witness to the melee who shared the video, published a video update of his own, corroborating Martinez's description of the woman's behavior.

In the video, Kinsey said, "All of a sudden, I'm sitting there on my phone and this woman just comes back — I think she went out to have a smoke, the woman in the pink — and she walks by the girl sitting down, and then turns around — the girl didn't say anything. She was talking to, I think, the girl next to her. ... And then the girl in pink just starts getting up in her face over nothing. Literally nothing. And just yelling, and screaming. It was just so intense for no reason. The girl sitting down was being really calm. She obviously didn't know her. She obviously, like, knew this lady was, like, tripping or something. I think I maybe saw the receptionist called security, or security had been walking by. ... I don't know what the whole scenario was.

"That was a crazy day," Kinsey added.

'Loved by many'

Former co-worker Maria Hayes set up a GoFundMe page to benefit Martinez — who she said is "caring, compassionate," and is "loved by many" — and his family.

"He has protected both patients and staff from being assaulted, stabbed, and shot," Hayes wrote.

At the time of this reporting, the page has received more than $8,400 in donations.

Of the support he is receiving from former co-workers and strangers on the internet alike, Martinez said, "It's awesome. It's crazy how when people get together, the things they can do. It's awesome and unbelievable."

"I'm experiencing something new, and something that I've never experienced before," he added. "It's crazy how it got my job taken away from me, but at the same time, the support, that's something that I've never experience before. I used to think that with my 10 or 20 likes on Facebook, I was popular. This is a whole new level of being so loved and cared for. The support is unbelievable."

@grantkinsey3

disclainer: at the end I said “and that’s Tulsa for the most part” I love Tulsa and there’s so many great things, but this happens a lot! #fyp

Video shows woman duct-taped to her seat after she tried to open airplane door mid-flight, bit cabin attendant

A shocking video shows an unruly airline passenger duct-taped to her seat on a recent American Airlines flight after she became dangerously unhinged. The reckless woman reportedly attempted to open the airplane door mid-flight and attacked a cabin attendant during the scary ordeal.

The frightening incident happened on Tuesday's American Airlines Flight 1774 traveling from Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, to Charlotte, North Carolina. The flight was delayed at least three hours and took off around midnight, according to the New York Post. In the middle of the two-hour flight, a woman allegedly "had an outburst" and attempted to get off the plane.

"All flight attendants were running up and down the aisles, frantically kind of like whispering to each other," TikTok user @lol.ariee, who was a passenger on the plane, said.

The cabin crew began locking bathrooms, and started grabbing bags from overhead bins, but wouldn't say what exactly was happening, according to passenger Arieana Mathena.

"It was just kind of like chaos and no one knows what's going on," she added.

The pilot allegedly addressed the situation over the intercom, and asked the passengers to stay in their seats, noting that there was "a bad situation on the plane right now."

"Then we gradually start to hear more and more screaming, and we're like, 'Wait a minute,'" Mathena said.

A flight attendant allegedly explained that a female passenger "had a fit of anger and had wanted to get off the plane."

The cabin attendant allegedly explained what the woman screamed during her frenzy, "And she said, 'I have to get off this plane,' and she walked to the exits and started knocking on doors, saying, 'You have to let me get off this plane!'"

American Airlines confirmed the incident, and stated that the woman assaulted and bit a flight attendant. The crazed passenger "attempted to open the forward boarding door" and was restrained "for the safety and security of other customers and our crew."

"I guess it took all five flight attendants to overpower her and literally take her down," Mathena said. "They pretty much lowered her, put her on the seat and covered her with duct tape."

The TikTok video shows a green-haired woman duct-taped to a seat on the plane, and she is heard screaming at passengers exiting the airplane, "You! You! You!" Flight attendants calmly say, "Goodbye" as if nothing was wrong.

A police officer is on board the plane and another cop is in the gangway with a gurney. The woman was reportedly taken to a local hospital in Charlotte. American Airlines said the female passenger was placed on it's "internal" no-fly list while investigating the situation.
