Punks caught on video ganging up on 14-year-old, punching and stomping him until he's left curled up in a ball on sidewalk. No one dares intervene.

Surveillance video caught the moment a gang of crooks — at least six of them — pummeled and stomped a 14-year-old boy in broad daylight on a New York City street last week.

What are the details?

The incident — which took place around 3 p.m. on the corner of Southern Boulevard and East 174th Street in the Bronx — began when suspects approached the boy and one of them asked him where he was from, police told WPIX-TV.

Video then shows one of the suspects, dressed in a light-colored vest, suddenly punching the victim in the midsection.

With that, the first suspect continues the attack as the victim tries to get away toward the corner — but the boy is shoved into a parked vehicle and then a traffic signal pole before he's knocked to the pavement.

It gets worse from there as at least five other attackers join in, repeatedly punching and stomping him.

At least two vehicles are stopped on the street, and the drivers appear to have full views of the attack, but no one intervenes.

By the end, the victim is left curled up in a ball with one of his sneakers several feet away after having been ripped from his foot, and the attackers finally disperse.

82-year-old motorist out to 'pick up a turkey' ahead of Thanksgiving gets surrounded, severely beaten by ATV gang numbering between 30 and 40 riders

An 82-year-old man who's daughter said was out to "pick up a turkey" was surrounded and severely beaten in Boston last week by an ATV and dirt bike gang that numbered between 30 and 40 riders, WCVB-TV reported.

The victim suffered serious injuries and remains hospitalized but is expected to survive, police added to the station.

What are the details?

State police told WCVB that the ATV/dirt bike gang was on Boylston Street near Fenway Park last Thursday around 7:30 p.m. when the victim noticed the gang approaching him.

The gang then forced the victim upon a curb when some of the bikers smashed the windows of the victim's car, the station said.

Even though the victim tried to drive away, some of the gang members followed him and resumed kicking and striking the victim's vehicle, WCVB said.

At one point the elderly motorist got stuck on an off-ramp, rolled down his window to ask occupants of another vehicle for help — and with that one of the bike riders began punching him through the open window, the station said.

Simultaneously, other riders kicked the victim's car, threw a piece of pipe through the rear window and a large rock through another window, police told WCVB.

More from the station:

State police said the driver was eventually able to escape the traffic and attack at that location, driving to a nearby gas station where he got out of his car and fell to the ground.

Boston EMS responded and transported him to St. Elizabeth's Medical Center where he remained hospitalized days later.

'He was going to pick up a turkey'

"He was going to pick up a turkey. That's all he was doing. A simple errand at 7:30 at night," the victim's daughter told WCVB. "You wouldn't think that it would be a dangerous time for someone to be out."

The daughter added to the station that her dad "wasn't doing anything wrong. He's simply traveling somewhere, and then he gets attacked, and it's heartbreaking for us to know that it's not safe for our 82-year-old father to be out by himself. Discouraged at humanity in general to know that someone — or more than someone — can get together and beat on a defenseless elderly man."

She also told WCVB that her family is viewing the crime as "an attempted murder. This wasn't just some sort of assault. He could have really died."

What did police have to say?

State police are asking "anyone who may have captured cell phone footage of the group or the incident, or who called 911 to report the incident, to call us ... Anyone who has any such information, photos, or footage or who called 911 that night is asked to call the State Police Detective Unit for Suffolk County at 617-727-8817," the station said.

Police added for the benefit of possible witnesses that the incident took place on the following route: Park Drive, Boylston Street, Bowker Overpass, Storrow Drive (westbound); Soldiers Field Road (westbound), off-ramp to Cambridge Street by River Street Bridge and DoubleTree hotel in Allston, culminating at the Joe's Kwik Market (formerly Speedway) on Cambridge Street in Allston (roughly 2.7 miles).

'A pack of animals!': Seven thugs gang up on 62-year-old man, knock him to sidewalk with stick, stab him, slash him — and walk away smiling

A 62-year-old man was walking on West 44th Street near Eighth Avenue in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of New York City on Wednesday just after 5:30 a.m. when police said another man came up behind him and asked, "What are you looking at?" the New York Post reported.

What happened next?

A surveillance video captured the moment when the second man struck the elderly man with what appeared to be a rod or stick, knocking him to the sidewalk, police added to the paper.

The attacker then reversed course and ran away from his victim, who was struggling to climb to his feet.

The attacker then made a left, ran between the parked cars, and made his way back down the street toward the elderly man — and that's when another six individuals are seen walking together toward the victim.

Most of them began physically attacking the man. Police said they stabbed and slashed him.

While there was no report made of property stolen from the man, one of the group who had not engaged in the attack appeared to grab an object, which apparently fell from the victim's possession as he was knocked to the ground, and place it in a pouch.

The suspects then strolled away. Check out their smiling mugs:

The Post said police were still looking for them Thursday morning.

What happened to the victim?

The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital with stab and slash wounds to his torso, head, and nose, police told the paper, adding that he was initially listed to be in critical condition but has since stabilized.

Police don't believe the victim knew his attackers, the Post noted, adding that there is a reward worth up to $3,500 posted for information about the attack.

How did folks react?

Not surprisingly, those responding to the NYPD Crime Stoppers tweet about the incident were disgusted by the beatdown:

  • "A pack of animals! $3,500 reward? What for, so they can get arrested and be out on a no-cash bond in hours and never face prosecution," one commenter said. "I would absolutely be carrying a handgun if I lived in NYC. This keeps up and people are going to open-carry AR-15s (and I understand it)."
  • "Punks and cowards — that can hit a defenseless elder or anyone," another user declared. "They are wussies. I hope they are caught and prosecuted to the fullest extent. Is it not an auto 2 yrs for elder abuse? This is also the result of the Dem way of defunding police and elevating criminals."
  • "Round 'em up, lock 'em up, throw away the keys," another commenter suggested. "Can't let 'Satan's Demons' out in public to do that again, or send them to Afghanistan let the Taliban torture them for 50 years."
