Kamala Harris Wanted To Ban The Gun She Now Claims To Own

When it comes to gun ownership and the Second Amendment, Kamala Harris has successfully shot herself in the foot.

Embarrassing: Watch this ATF agent struggle to disassemble a gun

While the Biden administration has made it clear the government doesn’t want anyone to own guns but it — its agents don’t seem to know how to handle guns themselves.

This was made obvious on a recent segment of CBS’ “Face the Nation.”

In it, the ATF’s acting chief of the Firearms Ammunition Technology Division, Chris Bort, failed to disassemble a Glock slide after multiple tries.

“They don’t know anything about the guns that they’re presenting,” Pat Gray says, shocked.

Bort went on to claim that with just 20 minutes of work, one could convert the gun that he was unable to disassemble.

“Unless you're him,” Gray jokes, “then it might take you two to three weeks.”

When the camera panned to the CBS host, the audio picked up Bort fidgeting with the weapon, still unable to disassemble it.

The point of the segment was to show how easy it would be for illegal weapons to be created, but Bort essentially disproved the entire reason he was there.

“These are the people that are regulating your life,” Keith Malinak exclaims, dumbfounded.

“I mean, we laugh because it’s hysterical, but it’s also terrifying,” he adds.

To see the footage of Bort's embarrassing struggle, watch the clip below.

Gaston Glock of firearms fame dies at 94

Gaston Glock, founder of the brand widely known for its popular pistols, has passed away at the age of 94 years old, his company has indicated.

"Gaston Glock not only revolutionized the world of small arms in the 1980s, but also succeeded in establishing the GLOCK brand as the global leader in the handgun industry. His internationally renowned GLOCK Perfection stands for uncompromising quality and maximum customer satisfaction," the company stated on its website. "Gaston Glock charted the strategic direction of the GLOCK Group throughout his life and prepared it for the future. His life's work will continue in his spirit."

The company was founded in Austria and has a subsidiary in the U.S. that is located in Georgia.

"In the early 1980's, the semi-automatic GLOCK service pistol was born in response to meet the needs of the Austrian military. It's polymer frame and the developed SAFE ACTION® System revolutionized the pistol market," the company says.

In 2011, Glock and his wife of decades divorced, and the octogenarian wed a 31-year-old, according to the New York Times, which also reported that he had been a conscript in Nazi Germany's Wehrmacht at the end of World War II.

"Been carrying a @GLOCKInc for decades. My Family says thank you Gaston Glock for bringing me an others home safely," Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb, who is currently running for a U.S. Senate seat in Arizona as a Republican, tweeted.

"Rest in Peace to a legend, Gaston Glock," the National Rifle Association tweeted.

'Grins and Glocks': North Carolina orthodontist offers free Glock 19 with Invisalign treatments

'Grins and Glocks': North Carolina orthodontist offers free Glock 19 with Invisalign treatments

An orthodontist's office in North Carolina is offering a free pistol or a membership at a local gun range when customers come in to get teeth-alignment procedures performed.

Gladwell Orthodontics in the Wake Forest region of North Carolina has partnered with the Youngsville Gun Club & Range to capitalize on the growing trend of gun giveaways to promote unrelated businesses.

Customers who are eligible for the promotion can get a free Glock 19, which has a value of over $500, or a membership at the aforementioned gun club.

Dr. Jason Gladwell, the owner of Gladwell Orthodontics, said that the promotion is only meant for people on the gun club’s email list.

"This promotion has got a lot more traction and attention than, you know, kind of, we ever thought it would," Gladwell told WRAL News.

"Not everyone that comes into our office is going to be eligible; it’s not marketed to everyone. It is solely designed and marketed for the Youngsville Gun Club and Range," he said. "The promotion is nontransferable. The person who actually gets started with the Invisalign treatment has to actually be the eligible person."

The local outlet spoke with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, along with lawyers who explained that the practice is perfectly legal so long as proper procedures are followed in according with North Carolina's gun laws regarding purchasing and transfers.

"Usually these transactions are coordinated through a licensed firearms dealer to ensure a background check is conducted and the recipient can legally possess a firearm," an ATF spokesperson said.

The gun club owner also noted that customers indeed would likely need to complete the required background checks in person, as well.

Recently, a Florida roofing company ran a similar promotion called the "Roof and Gobble," which offered a free turkey along with an AR-15 rifle with the purchase of a new roof.

The deal was intended to promote family and protection, according to owner Jason Polley, along with increased business.

"The turkey will get you all sitting at the table so you can spend time together. The roof will protect your home, and the AR-15 will protect your family," Polly told NBC2 News in an interview.

After just two days of the promotion, the company had sold eight roofs and received another 50 inquiries about the offer.

Biden calls Glock handgun with 40-round mag a 'weapon of war' in gun control remarks

President Joe Biden referred to the Glock .45 handgun, a popular firearm available in the civilian market, as a "weapon of war" during a recent gun control announcement.

What are the details?

The president was launching into remarks Thursday during a meeting with his Gun Violence Prevention Task Force when he made mention of fallen New York City Police Department officers Jason Rivera, 22, and Wilbert Mora, 27, who were ambushed and killed while responding to a domestic call last month.

"I’ve spoken to their families, and — and their loss for the city is also a loss for the nation," Biden said, adding, "You know, the future is cut short by a man with a stolen Glock with 40 rounds — a magazine with 40 rounds. And it’s really a weapon of war."

He went on to say, "One of the things I was proudest of years ago when I was in the Senate — I was able to get these weapons and the size of magazines outlawed. That got changed. It got overruled. But I don’t see any rationale [as] to why there should be such a weapon able to be purchased."

"It doesn’t violate anybody’s Second Amendment rights to deny that," he argued. "But anyway, their futures were cut short by a man with a stolen Glock and that 40-round magazine."

The man accused of killing Mora and Rivera, 47-year-old Lashawn McNeil, abruptly opened fire on the officers with a Glock .45 handgun with a 40-round magazine as they approached the back bedroom of an apartment where he was staying. McNeil's mother had reportedly called the police after getting into a fight with her son.

What else?

Biden appeared to imply the mere existence of the semi-automatic handgun outside of a military environment was a primary cause of the crime.

But American Military News pointed out that federal law prohibits convicted felons from possessing firearms and New York state law prohibits possession of firearm magazines capable of holding more than 10 rounds.

At the time of the shooting — which occurred in Harlem, New York — McNeil was on probation. According to NYPD Chief of Detectives James Essig, he had a criminal history that included a gun charge in North Carolina, an assault on a police officer in Pennsylvania, and a felony narcotics charge in New York City.

The Glock .45 is one of the most popular handguns sold in the United States, according to Gun Source. It uses 9x19mm ammo and is normally sold with a standard mag capacity of 17.

Anything else?

Later in the meeting, Biden suggested limitations to the Second Amendment as a way to curb gun crime, alleging that "no amendment is absolute."

He also repeated a dubious claim that when the amendment was passed, private citizens weren't allowed to purchase cannons. That statement has been fact-checked and declared "false."

"There’s no violation of the Second Amendment right," he said. "We talk like there’s no amendment that’s absolute. When the amendment was passed it didn’t say anybody can own a gun, any kind of gun, and any kind of weapon. You couldn’t buy a cannon when this amendment was passed so there’s no reason why you should be able to buy certain assault weapons. But that’s another issue."
