'Patriot Act 2.0' — Lindsey Graham's DANGEROUS plan after Trump shooting

FBI whistleblower Steve Friend has a warning in the aftermath of the assassination attempt on Trump — and it’s not for former President Trump.

“There was an exchange between deputy director Paul Abbate and Ron Johnson from Wisconsin, where to the layperson it seems reasonable the FBI wants to open up all avenues, remove the blindfold, have no blinders on, consider the fact that this could be assassination, this could be domestic terrorism,” Friend tells Jill Savage of “Blaze News Tonight.”

However, to the non-layperson — this could mean something more sinister.

“When you designate something as a domestic terrorist investigation, that enables you to make it classified, and when you have a classification code on there, you have to have a need to know in a security clearance,” Friend explains.

Because of that, the FBI can withhold information.

“The American people are not going to have the transparency that we ultimately need for this investigation,” he says.

While the FBI’s actions are concerning, that’s not Savage’s only concern.

“Lindsey Graham had a very concerning solution for the issues with the investigation,” Savage tells Friend.

“We have encrypted apps of an assassin, a murderer, and we can’t get into them all these days after,” Graham said. “That needs to be fixed folks. I’m all for privacy, but to a point.”

“What if, in the future, somebody’s using these apps to communicate with a foreign power. I think we need to know these things. We need to know them in real time,” he added.

Friend says that Graham’s suggestion would effectively render the Fourth Amendment a “dead letter, at that point.”

Graham’s use of the phrase “real time” is also concerning.

“Real time, which means continually monitoring it,” Friend explains.

“This is the government assuming that a tool will be used for ill, when it is just a tool. Because we don’t trust the government in this country. The job of law enforcement is not supposed to be easy. You’re supposed to have reasonable suspicion, probable cause, the burden is supposed to be there,” he adds.

Boos erupt when Trump mentions Sen. Lindsey Graham at South Carolina rally

A chorus of boos erupted after former President Donald Trump mentioned GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina during a speech in the senator's own state on Monday. Trump described the lawmaker as a friend.

Earlier this year at another Trump rally in South Carolina, audience members booed Graham when he appeared at the podium ahead of Trump's speech. Then later during the same event, Trump mentioned Graham and was met by boos from the audience.

The senator has served since early 2003, and his current term ends in early 2027.

"A big day for President @realDonaldTrump in South Carolina. @AGAlanWilson and Secretary of State Mark Hammond coming on board is great news, followed by consequential and influential state legislators. The Trump team is getting bigger and better every day in SC!" Graham tweeted.

Even Graham's tweet was met with negative sentiment.

"You got booed relentlessly!! We don’t understand why Trump still supports you, because the majority of us can't stand you.. you're not American first, you're Ukraine first," one person wrote in response to Graham's post.

"Trump would be smart if he dumped you. RINO," someone else wrote.

Graham has claimed that it is "imperative" for the U.S. to continue aiding Ukraine's military.

"Those who call for the end of U.S. assistance to Ukraine are simply setting the stage for even bigger wars in the future. That will lead to more future expenses and even more loss of life in Europe and possibly one day, Taiwan," Graham has claimed.

Actor and musician Tyrese Gibson opens up about his faith in Jesus, the spiritual sickness of Hollywood: 'They're trying to normalize the devil'

Musician and Hollywood actor Tyrese Gibson has recently spoken openly about his Christian faith as well as the spiritual problems he sees in the entertainment industry. He claimed in a recent interview that celebrity award shows are "trying to normalize the devil," and he's had about enough of it.

About a month ago, Gibson, 44, sat down with the man known as Big Boy, the host of "Big Boy's Neighborhood" and Real 92.3 L.A. The purpose of the interview was ostensibly for Gibson to promote the latest film in the "Fast & Furious" series, "Fast X," which opened May 19, as well as his latest album, "Beautiful Pain." However, the conversation quickly turned spiritual, and Gibson expressed his frustration with the entertainment industry, which he claimed is popularizing evil.

"They [are] going above and beyond to promote the devil," Gibson said, "and it's p***ing me off."

"The devil is on the mainstage at award shows and in every video, and you have signs and symbols," he explained. He also stated, "I just feel like we're in competition right now because they are trying to normalize the devil."

But things weren't always this way in Hollywood, Gibson suggested. "The devil-worshippers used to be real secretive," he claimed, "going down in the basement. Now, they just play."

Big Boy seemed to agree with Gibson, occasionally interjecting with "amen" and even noting that devilish images and symbols can also often be seen on a "device," likely referring to cellphones, iPads, computers, and televisions.

Gibson hinted that the solution to the spiritual malaise in popular culture is simple: We must regularly give thanks to God and share praise reports about "all of the things that God has brought us through."

"We need to stop treating our relationship with Jesus like the little buddy that you talk to before you go to bed at night," Gibson stated, adding that Christians must be "more vocal about all the things that God means to us."

That portion of the interview can be seen in the short Twitter video below:

“Finally someone in Hollywood is exposing their pro-Satan agenda!!!!

DO. NOT. BE. FOOLED.”
— Graham Allen (@Graham Allen) 1686161079

"We should, as believers, we should go the rest of our lives trying to figure out God. That should be an everlasting hunt," he continued. "... I’m looking as a person who is overwhelmed with what God has decided to put me in and has done over my life, even when I’ve went above and beyond to mess it up myself.

"God says, 'I still got you,'" he said.

In speaking about his faith, Gibson also opened up about the deaths of actor Paul Walker and director John Singleton, who were both affiliated with "Fast & Furious." He claimed that he now has a duty to honor their legacies and support their families. "I gotta make them proud," he said.

A longer version of the interview, which closes with prayer, can be seen in the 40-minute video below:

Republicans demand action against China after another report confirms communist lab was likely source of COVID-19

Republicans are demanding that action be taken against China following the apparent confirmation by the U.S. Department of Energy that COVID-19 leaked from a communist Chinese lab.

What's the background?

Numerous Republicans have long maintained that millions of Americans and tens of millions of people worldwide had their lives cut short on account of the virus that escaped from a Chinese Communist Party-controlled lab in Wuhan.

Former President Donald Trump intimated in spring 2020 that he had seen evidence that gave him a high degree of confidence that the virus originated from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, adding, "Certainly it could have been stopped."

Trump also lambasted the World Health Organization for suggesting a zoonotic origin, stating, "I think that the World Health Organization should be ashamed of themselves, because they're like the public relations agency for China. ... They shouldn't be making excuses when people make horrible mistakes, especially mistakes that are causing hundreds of thousands of people around the world to die."

“I’ll never forget when they ruthlessly attacked Trump for exposing the birthplace of COVID-19.

LOOK WHO WAS RIGHT!”
— Graham Allen (@Graham Allen) 1677504840

Like Trump, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo caught heat from the liberal media for suggesting in May 2020 that there was "enormous evidence" supporting the lab-leak theory.

In a Jan. 30, 2020, tweet, Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) noted that the WIV "works with the world's most deadly pathogens," including the coronavirus, and suggested again a lab-leak origin for the pandemic.

Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.) and other Republicans on the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions released a report in October detailing the untenability of the claim of natural origins and suggesting that the "COVID-19 pandemic was, more likely than not, the result of a research-related incident."

In their December "Second Interim Report on the Origins of the COVID-19 Pandemic," House Republicans on the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence noted on the basis of both classified and previously glossed-over declassified intelligence that "there are indications that SARS-CoV-2 may have been tied to China's biological weapons research program and spilled over to the human population during a lab-related incident at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV)."

Contrariwise, the media and elements of the Democratic establishment supported the Beijing-favored zoonotic-origins theory, holding that the lab-leak theory was baseless and denouncing those who entertained it as conspiracy theorists.

The New York Times and the Washington Post were among those outfits that called the claim that COVID-19 came from the WIV a "fringe theory."

Holding communists culpable

The DOE recently joined the FBI in saying the virus likely spread via a mishap at the WIV.

In 2021, the FBI determined with "moderate confidence" that the pandemic was likely the result of a lab leak. The bureau still holds to this view, reported the Wall Street Journal.

Republicans who suspected the coronavirus lab that performed gain-of-function experiments at the epicenter of a coronavirus pandemic may have been responsible are now calling for action.

Cotton tweeted Sunday, "Re. China’s lab leak, being proven right doesn’t matter. What matters is holding the Chinese Communist Party accountable so this doesn’t happen again."

“Re. China’s lab leak, being proven right doesn’t matter.

What matters is holding the Chinese Communist Party accountable so this doesn’t happen again.”
— Tom Cotton (@Tom Cotton) 1677432559

CBS News previously denounced Cotton as a conspiracy theorist, suggesting the lab-leak theory was "absolutely crazy."

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) mocked Glenn Kessler, editor of the Washington Post's "Fact Checker," with clown emojis for his May 2020 tweet claiming it was "virtually impossible for this virus jump from the lab":

“4 🤡’s for Glenn.”
— Ted Cruz (@Ted Cruz) 1677438398

Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) shared the Wall Street Journal's report on the DOE's recent confirmation, writing, "For years, Anthony Fauci and Biden officials called this a conspiracy."

Former NIAID Director Anthony Fauci long claimed that the virus occurred naturally. He repeatedly dismissed the lab-leak theory, calling it a "circular argument."

TheBlaze previously reported that Fauci was also part of an concerted effort to downplay the possibility that COVID-19 originated in a lab and to instead bolster then-unsubstantiated claims that the virus had naturally made the trans-species jump to humans.

Unredacted emails from 2020 obtained through a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit by Guardian reporter Jimmy Tobias revealed great anxiety and uncertainty among Fauci and other virologists.

Despite recognizing that the virus' furin cleavage sites were not naturally occurring — suggestive of human intervention and a lab origin — Fauci told CBS' "Face the Nation" in March 2020 the virus had jumped from an animal to a human. In May 2020, he told National Geographic there was "no scientific evidence" to suggest the virus had come from the Wuhan lab.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) tweeted, "Once again... Conspiracy theorists - 100 Media - 0."

Pompeo tweeted, "There was always enormous evidence that the Wuhan coronavirus leaked from the Wuhan lab. I'm glad the Department of Energy recognizes this reality. It's past time to make the CCP pay."

“There was always enormous evidence that the Wuhan coronavirus leaked from the Wuhan lab.

I’m glad the Department of Energy recognizes this reality.

It’s past time to make the CCP pay.

https://t.co/9AJKF3lK2H”
— Mike Pompeo (@Mike Pompeo) 1677441595

Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) tweeted, "The left spent the past 2yrs trying to censor the truth & cover up for Communist China, but the facts are undeniable. The CCP is evil. Its virus killed millions & Xi will stop at nothing to destroy the U.S. It's time to hold this evil regime accountable."

The Hill reported that Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska) went on NBC's "Meet the Press" calling for "extensive" public hearings about the origins in Congress.

Sullivan said of China, "Look, this is a country that has no problem coming out and lying to the world. ... I think that we need to make sure every country knows that, and then look at what the consequences could be."

In addition to hearings during which the possibility of action will be discussed, there is a bill presently in the House aimed at holding the CCP responsible.

TheBlaze noted that if passed in the Republican-controlled House, Texas Republican Rep. Troy Nehls' "China Lied, People Died" Act (H.R.566) would "prohibit the availability of Federal funds for programs, projects, or activities in the People's Republic of China until amounts made available for COVID-19 relief in the United States have been reimbursed, and for other purposes."

Canadian man charged with second-degree murder after shooting armed home invader with legally owned gun

A man from Milton, Ontario, in Canada has been charged with second-degree murder after shooting a man who was trying to rob his home, as part of a five-man home invasion, according to the Toronto Star. One intruder was pronounced dead after being shot, and one more was arrested, while the remaining three are still at large.

At approximately 5 a.m., the suspects went to the house with the intent to commit robbery, according to police. The group was confronted by the man charged with the murder offense, Ali Mian, 22, and multiple gunshots were fired inside the home.

According to Mian's lawyer, Jag Virk, Mian lives with his mother, who was being attacked by one of the intruders, who was in possession of a firearm during the invasion.

“The intruder had a gun and was attacking his mother,” Virk said.

The lawyer also told the outlet that Mian's gun is legally registered and that he only fired it once without the intention to kill. After shooting the armed man, Mian allegedly called the police.

The intruder, who was shot and killed, has not been identified by police. However, one of the alleged home invaders has been identified as Romario Clarke, 20, and charged with breaking and entering and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Police were only able to identify the group's getaway car as a light-colored Dodge Charger.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau famously said in 2022 that citizens can't use guns for "self-protection" in the country.

"We have a culture where the difference is, guns can be used for hunting or for sport-shooting in Canada, and there are lots of gun owners, and they're mostly law-respecting and law abiding, but you can't use a gun for self-protection in Canada. That's not a right that you have in the Constitution or anywhere else," Trudeau said.

Halton Region is no stranger to controversy, even with its police force once coming under scrutiny in 2017 for encouraging pronoun use among residents. Halton Police told the public to ask others what their "preferred pronouns" are — and took it a step further by publishing a "Handy Guide to Pronouns."

This is the same region in which the school board has asked students to walk to to school and even wear an extra sweater so administrators can turn down the heat in their schools to "fight climate change."

In addition, Halton District also employs the infamous teacher with gigantic, prosthetic breasts, defending the teacher's gender identity despite public outcry and international condemnation.

Both Mian and the arrested intruder are awaiting trial.

Bipartisan duo of senators introduce bill to designate Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism

GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Democratic Sen. Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut have introduced a bill to designate Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism.

Currently, the only nations deemed state sponsors of terrorism include Iran, Syria, Cuba, and North Korea.

Graham called Russian President Vladimir Putin "a terrorist," according to a press release.

"Putin has crossed every line of civilized norms during the war in Ukraine and years before," Graham said, according to the release. "He has engaged in state-sponsored assassinations, the Wagner group supported by Russia terrorizes the world, and the war crimes being committed in Ukraine on a daily basis shock the conscious," he said, according to the press release. "If Putin's regime is not a State Sponsor of Terrorism after all this, then the designation is meaningless. We believe that it is long past due to designate Putin's Russia as a State Sponsor of Terrorism and suffer the consequences thereof because he is a terrorist. Ukrainians have been asking for this designation, and we are listening. This will be a game changer in how we deal with terrorists worldwide."

Lawmakers on both sides of the political aisle have been advocating for Russia to be designated as a state sponsor of terrorism.

But according to Reuters, President Joe Biden answered, "No," earlier this month when he was asked whether Russia should be named a state sponsor of terrorism.

"What has been revealed in Ukraine's success on the battlefield is not only its military prowess and Russia's weakness, but also Putin’s reliance on brutal atrocities, genocide, and war crimes against the people of Ukraine. Russia has more than earned the right to be among the club of pariah nations," Blumenthal said, according to the press release.
