Tucker Carlson's attorney responds defiantly after Fox reportedly sends cease-and-desist letter seeking to shut down Twitter show

Fox News has sent a cease-and-desist letter to Tucker Carlson amid the popular broadcaster releasing two monologue-type commentary videos on Twitter, Axios reported Monday.

"My friend and client @TuckerCarlson will not be silenced by the far left or Fox News," attorney Harmeet Dhillon tweeted Monday morning, appending a link to the piece on Axios covering a cease-and-desist letter sent to Carlson by the network.

Axios did not include the text of the cease-and-desist letter, saying that the letter has "NOT FOR PUBLICATION" in bold at the top.

Dhillon went on to explain that Fox News is "not a place" for her until the network "stops trying to silence Tucker." She added she has friends still under contract at Fox and that she feels for them.

"I am passionately committed to free speech and a free flow of information necessary for a free society," Dhillon said.

The popular liberty-minded lawyer was not done there, however. She urged Congress, influencers, and GOP officials to carefully consider decisions about appearing on the network she says has "caved into pressure to silence Tucker Carlson."

"Do you really want to air your views on a network that spits on its viewers, leaks oppo on its own talent, and even threatens former talent for speaking, for free, on @Twitter?"

"You have free will!"

"What you are seeing on Fox today is a censored version of the news," Dhillon also said in the multi-part tweet thread.

Tucker Carlson and Fox News Channel parted ways April 21. After Carlson's departure, the network suffered deeply plummeting ratings, as TheBlaze reported.

Carlson re-emerged on Twitter April 26, in a short video calling out the faults of major media outlets. A June 6 video Carlson posted to the platform as "Episode 1" amassed more than 114.8 million views. Episode 2, released June 8, has nearly 55 million views. The second installment's video was emblazoned with a "Tucker on Twitter" typographical logo.

Elon Musk noted May 9 that Twitter had "not signed any deal of any kind whatsoever" with the broadcaster, as TheBlaze reported.

Tucker Carlson Tonight's former executive producer Justin Wells tweeted Sunday that the next episode of "Tucker on Twitter" will be released Tuesday. The content will reportedly cover former President Donald Trump's indictment in the federal classified documents probe.

Fox News did not respond to a request for comment from Axios.

'Mr. Carlson will not run for President in 2024,' Lawyer Harmeet Dhillon warns Draft Tucker PAC in cease and desist letter

Tucker Carlson will definitely not be running for president in 2024, lawyer Harmeet Dhillon stated in a cease and desist letter to the Draft Tucker PAC.

Dhillon emphatically declared that Carlson will not mount a 2024 bid, and she warned the PAC to stop soliciting funds and information based on the idea of drafting Carlson to run.

"It has come to Mr. Carlson’s attention that you are soliciting contributions and donor contact information from the public by representing that the funds will be used to draft Mr. Tucker to run for President in 2024," Dhillon declared in the letter, according to Mediaite.

"Mr. Carlson will not run for President in 2024 under any circumstances, and therefore your misrepresentations are damaging to Mr. Carlson and defrauding his supporters," she wrote, according to the outlet. "If you do not immediately cease and desist your efforts to solicit money to 'draft' Mr. Carlson, we will use every legal means at our disposal to vindicate his rights and protect his supporters from these misrepresentations."

The letter was directed to executive director of the PAC Charlie Kolean and to PAC treasurer Elizabeth Curtis, according to Mediaite.

"Mr. Carlson is not now, and will not under any circumstances be, a candidate for President in the 2024 election," Dhillon communicated. "Mr. Tucker unequivocally disavows your activities. Therefore, your efforts to raise money for a 'draft' committee are a waste of your time and the money of every donor to your committee, as you are on notice that these funds will not, in fact, be used for the purpose stated. Nor will the data you are collecting under false pretenses be used for the stated purpose."

The letter noted that Carlson does not want people to be duped into giving their money and personal information to the PAC which cannot possibly accomplish it's stated goal.

"Mr. Carlson does not want his supporters to be fooled into sending their hard-earned money and contact information to a project run in his name that he does not support and that has no chance of succeeding in its stated aims, and thus will necessarily be using the funds and donor data for other, undisclosed purposes," Dhillon wrote, according to Mediaite. "If you do not voluntarily stop your 'Draft Tucker' effort, we will use every legal option to prevent the misappropriation of Mr. Carlson's name, likeness, and image, and to protect his supporters from fraud.”

The PAC's Twitter account no longer exists.

DeSantis says 'new blood' needed at Republican National Committee

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said that he believes that the Republican National Committee needs "change" and "new blood" and that he supports Harmeet Dhillon's position on pulling the RNC out of the nation's capital.

"I like what Harmeet Dhillon has said about getting the RNC out of D.C. Why would you want to have your headquarters in the most Democrat city in America? It's more Democrat than San Francisco is," DeSantis told Turning Point USA founder and president Charlie Kirk.

"But I do think we need some fresh thinking," DeSantis said, adding that he believes it will be tough to motivate the grassroots to donate money and volunteer with the RNC if people do not witness a shift in direction.

Dhillon is challenging current RNC chair Ronna McDaniel. MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell is also vying for the position. The vote is slated for Friday.

DeSantis described the 2018, 2020, and 2022 election cycles as "substandard." McDaniel was at the helm of the RNC during all three of those election cycles.

“🚨BREAKING: Gov. DeSantis calls for Change at the RNC🚨

"We've had 3 substandard election cycles in a row, '18, '20, and '22, and I'd say '22 was the worst...I think we need a change. I think we need to get some new blood in the RNC. I like what Harmeet Dhillon has said..."”

"We need to decentralize the RNC out of DC and away from the lobbyists, the consultants, and frankly the beholden politicians who dictate the party's direction at the expense of what our voters want," Dhillon's website for her RNC chair run notes. "I'd like to see RNC move important operations – fundraising, legal, political, and strategic – out of DC."

DeSantis won reelection last year during the Sunshine State's 2022 gubernatorial election, and while he has not announced plans to pursue the presidency, he is widely viewed as someone who could potentially mount a White House bid.

"Republican leaders from all wings of the party are hearing what voters are saying & objectively calling out our need to improve — which means a change in leadership & while am not seeking endorsements from any presidential candidate — I appreciate ALL Rep. feedback/support," Dhillon tweeted.

Vice President Harris announces her pronouns and provides a description of her attire at roundtable event

Vice President Kamala Harris provided her pronouns and a brief description of her attire at a roundtable event on Tuesday

The event occurred on the 32nd anniversary of the date when President George H.W. Bush signed the Americans with Disabilities Act into law. Harris indicated that the meeting would involve discussion about how the recent Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization Supreme Court ruling will impact individuals with disabilities — last month, the high court issued the decision which enables states to ban abortions.

Harris noted at the beginning of the event that she uses she/her pronouns, and she described herself as a "woman ... wearing a blue suit."

The vice president's decision to announce her pronouns comes as many liberals continue to peddle radical leftist gender ideology, which involves the notion that biological men can identify as women, and vice versa.

Her comments attracted significant attention on social media.

"One of the many aspects that makes this so stupid is that Kamala is describing her clothing in order to help the visually impaired, and yet she's pointlessly wearing a mask which needlessly alienates the hearing impaired," tweeted conservative commentator Matt Walsh of the Daily Wire.

GOP Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas commented on the vice president's remarks by tweeting, "But what is a woman?"

"How does she know though....about the woman thing.... or the blue thing for that matter," Harmeet Dhillon tweeted.

"If she would repudiate woke inanities and move towards a commonsensical centrism, she would be embraced by a majority of Americans. Instead, she just digs in," Christina Sommers tweeted.

"Progressivism is a cult," Newsweek opinion editor Josh Hammer tweeted.

"And they wonder why ordinary Americans think these people have lost their grip," Dan McLaughlin of National Review Online tweeted.

"You know this was a meeting with disability advocates, right? Common courtesy might not be something the RNC understands, but most Americans think we should have more of it. Go on ridiculing people for being nice though," Democratic Sen. Tammy Duckworth of Illinois tweeted, referring to the Republican National Committee.

CBS News reporter says he 'felt safer' in North Korea than he does at the White House amid outbreak

CBS News White House correspondent Ben Tracy declared on social media Monday that he "felt safer" reporting from the communist regime of North Korea than he does currently covering the White House after President Donald Trump and several administration staffers tested positive for COVID-19.

What are the details?

"I felt safer reporting in North Korea than I currently do reporting at The White House," Tracy tweeted, adding, "This is just crazy."

The journalist was lambasted by conservatives for the comment. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) replied, "That's because you were supporting the regime."

Tracy later clarified amid backlash, "For context folks, this is in reference to the COVID-19 outbreak at The White House."

One person wrote, "I'm pretty sure you'd rather run the risk getting COVID in the USA before getting it in the [Democratic People's Republic of Korea]...from what I hear a bullet is the only treatment option there." They attached an AFP article from last month citing U.S. intelligence that North Korea has "issued shoot-to-kill orders to prevent the coronavirus entering the country from China."

Republican attorney and frequent Fox News guest Harmeet Dhillon tweeted to Tracy, "Yes the White House is just like North Korea, other than the beatings, starvation, lack of electricity, organ harvesting, punishment of your parents, your children, your extended family on the basis of your network's reporting. You are a clown."

As TheBlaze previously reported:

[American college student] Otto Warmbier was arrested in 2016 and sentenced to 15 years hard labor in North Korea after being accused of stealing a propaganda poster while visiting the country on a guided tour. He was released after 17 months, but when he arrived in the US, he was in a coma and never regained consciousness — dying six days after his return home.

His parents said that when Otto arrived, he was making "inhuman noises" like "howling" and "jerking violently." They also contend that he was blind, deaf, and that it looked like someone had "taken a pair of pliers and rearranged his bottom teeth."

Anything else?

Tracy is not the first White House correspondent to say that covering President Trump during the coronavirus pandemic is one of the most dangerous jobs on earth.

A few weeks ago, ABC News White House correspondent Jon Karl described covering an indoor rally for the president as such: "This is not like embedding with the Marines in Fallujah. It is like you are taking your family with you to Fallujah."
