FACT CHECK: Is Google Showing A Map When Searching “Where To Vote For Harris” But Not For Trump?

According to Google, it is because Harris is the name of a county in Texas, so it shows a map as intended. Results have nothing to do with manipulation

Country over party: Dem DA in Texas supports Sen. Ted Cruz in new ad

The lame-duck Democrat district attorney of the largest county in Texas has endorsed the re-election campaign of Republican U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, appearing in an ad to discuss their shared goal of protecting Texans against criminal illegal aliens.

After eight years as district attorney of Harris County, Texas, which includes most of Houston, Democrat Kimberly Ogg has fallen out of favor with her party. Not only did she doggedly pursue criminal indictments against high-level staff members of County Judge Lina Hidalgo in connection with COVID funding, but she has also strongly opposed the "catch-and-release" policies implemented by the Biden-Harris administration.

'Democrats and Republicans must work together to solve Texans' problems now.'

In July, Ogg and Cruz penned an op-ed together suggesting that these border policies apparently gave two Venezuelan nationals the opportunity to murder 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray of Houston.

"Both men charged with Jocelyn’s murder had just recently entered Texas illegally and been captured in El Paso, where they were enrolled in the 'Alternatives to Detention' program," Ogg and Cruz wrote. "This meant they were released into the interior of the United States, despite the availability of ICE detention center beds, where they could have been held until their immigration court hearings. This program did not protect Jocelyn. In fact, such 'catch and release' policies don’t protect anyone."

The following month, Ogg officially endorsed Cruz in his re-election race against U.S. Rep. Colin Allred (D-Texas), claiming that curtailing violent crime was "bigger than partisanship."

Now, Ogg appears in a new ad for Cruz, similarly touting their cooperative efforts to prevent criminal illegal aliens from wreaking havoc on American soil.

As "the top law enforcement official in Harris County," Ogg insists in the video that she is "voting for Ted Cruz because he's working to keep Texans safe."

"Ted introduced legislation that would keep violent illegal aliens behind bars until trial," Ogg continues, referring to the Justice for Jocelyn Act, which would effectively counteract catch-and-release.

"Democrats and Republicans must work together to solve Texans' problems now," Ogg adds in the ad.

"Our safety is on the line."

Ogg's 30-second pitch for Cruz can be seen here.

Ogg may be the "top law enforcement official in Harris County" now, but she won't be for long. In March, challenger Sean Teare, who used to work for Ogg, trounced her in the Democratic primary. Her second term in office will expire on December 31.

While Cruz and his team hope that Ogg's endorsement will sway independents and less partisan Democrats frustrated by the problems at the border, state Democrat leaders aren't buying it.

"Because of Kim Ogg’s divisive tenure as DA, Harris County voters resoundingly rejected her by 50 points. Everyone knows that outside of an election year, Ted Cruz has no real interest in working with both parties. Voters will reject this failed rebrand attempt come November," said Texas Democratic Party Executive Director Monique Alcala.

Crooks shoot at Texas man after he tries to stop them from breaking into his work vehicles. Of course he fires right back.

At least two wannabe burglars shot at a Texas man after he ventured outside to stop them from breaking into his work vehicles earlier this week — and he fired right back.

Pablo Covarrubias told KTRK-TV his 19-year-old son woke him up just after 1 a.m. Sunday and told him the suspects were trying to break into two vehicles he uses for his HVAC company.

'I think next time they'll think twice, hopefully, that you just can't go around taking people's property.'

"There was no time to react. I mean, I just had my pistol right there on the side of my bed. I got up," Covarrubias told the station, which added that the incident took place in the Meadows of Clear Creek subdivision of southeast Harris County.

KTRK said surveillance video shows Covarrubias walking outside with his son — and only making it a few steps before the suspects open fire.

The station said Covarrubias returned fire, and the suspects sped away in what he believes is a black BMW.

KTRK said one of the bullets hit a jack-o'-lantern on Covarrubias' porch, but it's unclear if his own shots hit anything.

"We don't know if the perpetrators, the suspects, were hit," Sgt. Hector Vega with the Harris County Precinct 2 Constable's Office told the station, which added that the suspects haven't been identified.

Covarrubias noted to KTRK he that hopes his shots, if nothing else, served as a wake-up call to the bad guys.

"I think next time they'll think twice, hopefully, that you just can't go around taking people's property," he told the station.

You can view a video report here about the incident, which includes a surveillance clip showing the shootout.

Texas AG Ken Paxton files suit against Colony Ridge for fraudulent practices, but Blaze Media has known the truth for some time

Yesterday, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed suit against the massive real estate development northeast of Houston known as Colony Ridge.

According to the suit, Colony Ridge’s owner John Harris has “built a sprawling community northeast of Houston on a foundation of false, misleading, and deceptive sales, marketing, and lending practices.”

“Colony Ridge's business model is predicated on churning land purchasers through a foreclosure mill. Namely, Colony Ridge targets foreign born and Hispanic consumers with limited or no access to credit with promises of cheap, ready to build land and financing without proof of income," the suit claims.

While Paxton’s lawsuit will likely awaken many around the state, and even the nation, about the glaring crisis that is Colony Ridge, Blaze Media has known the truth for some time now.

Earlier this year, Glenn Beck and the Blaze Originals team traveled to Colony Ridge, Texas, and met with Harris as well as some of the residents who call the development home.

What they found will disturb you to your core.

Watch "The Real Story of Colony Ridge," a Blaze Originals documentary, below.

Illegal alien gets 2 life sentences for butchering  elderly church secretary, doing laundry in her home while she bled out

A Mexican national in the U.S. illegally has been handed down two life sentences for brutally murdering a 75-year-old American grandmother.

Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg of Texas announced Tuesday that Etta Nugent's killer, 24-year-old Marcos Cobos, "will now spend decades, and hopefully the rest of his life, in prison."

Ogg indicated the victim's family won't have to "go through a painful and traumatic trial" since Cobos pleaded guilty Friday both to Nugent's 2019 murder and to aggravated robbery.

In May 2019, Cobos stole a Ford F-150 in Arizona and drove to Houston in hopes of meeting someone he supposedly met online. The meeting failed to transpire, so the illegal alien began living out of the stolen truck in Sharpstown.

Although nearby residents repeatedly contacted authorities about the truck, which had been recognized as out of place in the tight-knit community, law enforcement apparently left Cobos alone for several days.

On May 19, 2019, Cobos, 19 at the time, knocked on Nugent's door and asked the elderly woman for water and to charge his phone.

Etta Nugent, originally from Yoakum, was a mother of three and a grandmother of six who worked as a parish secretary at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in the Houston area for 25 years. Her husband, to whom she had been married for over 50 years, had been relocated to a medical facility owing to his failing health, according to the Victoria Advocate.

Nugent, evidently a sound judge of character, declined to let the illegal alien inside, directing him instead to another neighbor who might be more willing.

Cobos left, but returned just minutes later and forced his way inside the home. Right away, he stabbed the victim in the chest with a knife he had brought with him. He then went into the kitchen in search of a better blade.

The illegal alien later told police that he spotted the elderly woman crawling onto the porch in an attempt to escape, so he grabbed her in a "bear hug," brought her inside, then resumed his butchery with the victim's kitchen knives, reported the Houston Chronicle.

According to the Harris County District Attorney's Office, Cobos stabbed Nugent at least 13 times, but not all in one go. He apparently spread the attacks out over several hours until the grandmother finally succumbed to her injuries.

While Nugent bled out, Cobos reportedly did his laundry in the house and took a shower. At one point, he went out for a burger, then returned to eat it nearby the victim's body.

After finishing both his meal and his laundry, the illegal alien pillaged the victim's house, used her credit cards to pay his cell phone bill, then stole her car.

The Advocate reported that Nugent was scheduled to visit her ailing husband Monday morning. However, when she failed to turn up, family members became concerned.

Unable to hail her on the phone, Nugent's son raced to the house where he found her body.

Although Cobos had fled the night of the murder and shacked up in a nearby motel, he returned the next day to move his stolen truck away from the grisly scene. Police caught him driving Nugent's car and detained him. Cobos confessed to the murder shortly thereafter.

Family members noted in a statement following Nugent's death, "Etta was a kind, gentle and generous woman who lived her life with unwavering dedication to her faith, family and friends."

"To see her life end in such a tragic, evil matter is simply unexplainable," continued the statement.

Assistant District Attorney Lynn Nguyen, who prosecuted Cobos, said, "This case is truly horrendous and is the worst possible nightmare for anyone who has an elderly parent living on their own."

"You don’t want to believe that something like this could happen in our community, but when it does, we do everything possible to seek justice for the victim and their family," added Nguyen.

Per Cobos' plea deal, he will serve 60 years in prison before becoming eligible for parole. Furthermore, he cannot appeal the conviction or dual life sentences.

According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, there have been 29 illegal aliens convicted for murder in the U.S. in fiscal year 2023; 62 last fiscal year; and 60 the previous year.

Judge Says That Texas Election Law Is Unconstitutional

'The Texas Constitution has prohibited laws that can only ever apply to one locale'
