Horrific video: Philly hit-and-run driver slams into old lady who's using cane to walk — then pins her against wall

Philadelphia police said they're investigating an incident that took place last weekend which left a 69-year-old woman hospitalized, WTXF-TV reported.

Police told the station that a driver struck a woman in the 1300 block of West Somerset Street around 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Her condition is unknown, and no arrests have been made, WTXF said.

Steve Keeley of WTXF posted video of the assault on X, noting that the woman — who was using a cane to walk — was heading to a corner store and "got slammed against the store’s brick storefront."

Complicating matters is that, according to Keeley, police said the driver intentionally tried to run down a different woman following an altercation in a crosswalk.

Video shows the driver attempting to turn right, but the other woman in the crosswalk is close by the car, which plows past her instead of letting her cross. The angry second woman appears to make contact with the car, after which the driver backs up, turns, and drives at the second female — as well as the elderly woman with the cane, who is ahead and nearing the store's door.

In the end, the driver hit both women.

The woman who got angry in the crosswalk was sent off her feet and into the store's outer wall — but she quickly got up and began walking around.

The elderly woman with the cane wasn't as fortunate.

The driver hit her with the vehicle when she was inches from the store's entrance and then pinned her between the car and outer wall; when the driver reversed, the woman with the cane fell to the sidewalk.

WTXF said the striking vehicle — a silver KIA sedan — fled the scene eastbound on Somerset Street. The injured woman was taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries, WCAU-TV reported. Her condition is unknown, and no arrests have been made, WTXF said.

In a follow-up post, Keeley shared a second video from another angle, noting that the Kia has a smashed front end. The impact was so hard that the back end of the car shot upward.

Keeley also posted that pieces of the Kia were still all over the sidewalk Monday morning.

In another video, Keeley noted on X that the store owner told him a woman who said she's a relative of one of the victims entered the store after the hit-and-run and "began throwing items around, captured on the inside surveillance. She says the store may never reopen."

Law enforcement is hoping the video of the assault helps identify and catch the suspect, who remains at-large, WCAU reported.

The identities of the two women involved have not been released, WCAU added.

Tips can be submitted to the Philadelphia Police Department by calling 215-686-TIPS (8477) or by filling out a form online here, the station said.

'Shots fired!' What started as a hit-and-run ends in deadly shooting after motorist reaches for gun, bodycam video shows

The Houston Police Department released bodycam footage last week showing what authorities said was an officer fatally shooting a motorist who attempted to grab a gun from his waistband.

'He's got a gun — look out, look out! Shots fired, shots fired!'

Police said in a press release that officers were dispatched to the North Freeway around 3:45 p.m. May 17 regarding a car accident involving three vehicles.

Two of the vehicles remained at the site of the crash, but one of the vehicles fled the scene, according to police.

Officers with the Houston Police Department located the alleged hit-and-run vehicle, a green SUV, in a vacant parking lot in Houston, according to bodycam video.

The bodycam video shows an officer approaching the man sitting in the driver's seat of the green SUV with the door open. The cop informs the motorist that video shows his vehicle was just involved in a car accident. Police said the motorist didn't comply when officers tried to detain him.

The officer asks the driver, "You didn’t want to provide your information? You know it’s state law to do that, right?"

The driver asks the officer, "[Who] did I hit?" The officer near the driver's side of the vehicle responds, "I'm not going to debate about it with you, OK? What we're going to do is put you in handcuffs, we're going to put you in a back seat, we're going to move your car over there with the other two cars that were involved in the crash, OK?"

Suddenly, the motorist is seen in the police bodycam footage pulling up his shirt and grabbing an object from his waistband.

"As the officers attempted to detain the driver of the green SUV for the crash investigation, the driver lifted his shirt up, reached for a visible gun in his waistband, and pulled out the weapon," the Houston Police Department stated.

An officer is heard on the bodycam footage screaming, "Hey, whoa, whoa!"

A cop yells, "He's got a gun — look out, look out! Shots fired, shots fired!"

Video shows a second officer apparently firing at the suspect from the rear of the vehicle.

Indeed, Houston Police said in a press release that "two HPD officers then discharged their duty weapons more than once, striking the suspect."

The man is then seen unresponsive, motionless, and slumped over in the driver's seat of the vehicle.

Police said officers attempted to administer lifesaving measures to the man until Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived. However, the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.

The police bodycam footage shows one of the officers removing a gun from the suspect's hand.

Neither police officer appeared to be harmed, according to the video.

Illegal aliens arrested in fatal jet ski hit-and-run crash that killed teen Air Force recruit; Abbott calls for death penalty

Two illegal immigrants have been arrested in a deadly jet ski hit-and-run crash in Texas over Memorial Day weekend that took the life of a teen Air Force recruit. The governor of Texas has called for the suspect to face the death penalty in the tragic case.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced in a press release on Tuesday that an illegal alien was involved in the jet ski accident that killed the teenage woman.

'Ava Moore’s senseless death was caused by an illegal alien who should have never been in our country in the first place.'

"On Sunday, Daikerlyn Alejandra Gonzalez Gonzalez — an illegal alien from Venezuela — struck and killed an 18-year-old woman, Ava Moore, on Lake Grapevine with a jet ski," Paxton stated in the news release.

According to authorities, the 21-year-old Gonzalez was riding a jet ski when she mowed over Moore while she was kayaking on Lake Grapevine.

KDFW-TV obtained the arrest affidavit, which claimed that the jet ski was "traveling at a high rate of speed and dangerously close to other people in the water," according to a summary from the outlet. Witnesses allegedly told investigators that the victim attempted to paddle away from the speeding jet ski before she was violently struck from behind by the speeding personal watercraft.

The news outlet reported that Gonzalez fled the crime scene with fellow illegal alien — 21-year-old Maikel Coello Perozo. Meanwhile, the female passenger who was on the jet ski with Gonzalez remained at the scene and was interviewed by first responders, according to a statement from the Texas Game Wardens.

The pair drove away in a vehicle, then Perozo committed a hit-and-run after striking another car while attempting to leave the area, the Grapevine Police Department stated.

Gonzalez and Perozo — who are both reportedly in the U.S. illegally — were reportedly tracked down by Attorney General Paxton’s Fugitive Apprehension Unit and arrested around 11 a.m. on Tuesday at a Dallas-area home. The residence was allegedly surrounded by officers and agents with the Grapevine Police Department, the Dallas Police Department, the Texas Game Wardens, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and Homeland Security.

The New York Post reported that Moore suffered severe head trauma after being struck by the jet ski, and later died at a local hospital.

Gonzalez has been charged with second-degree felony manslaughter, and her bond is set at $500,000, according to KDFW.

Texas Game Warden Captain Joseph Quintero stated that Gonzalez could face more charges as the investigation continues.

The Texas Game Wardens are handling the investigation into the jet ski accident fatality, while the Grapevine Police Department is investigating the related automotive hit-and-run incident.

Joshua Johnson — the acting field office director for ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations in Dallas — confirmed that Gonzalez and Perozo are Venezuelan nationals in the United States illegally, according to MySanAntonio.com.

Johnson noted that both illegal aliens crossed the U.S. southern border in 2023 or 2024. He added that the duo were arrested at the time of illegal entry, processed for a notice to appear in immigration court, and then released.

Johnson also said that Gonzalez and Perozo will have to appear in front of an immigration judge to determine whether they will be deported back to Venezuela.

Paxton stated, "Ava Moore’s senseless death was caused by an illegal alien who should have never been in our country in the first place. My heart breaks for Ava’s family and friends, and my prayers are with them as they face this tragedy."

Paxton stressed, "My office will continue to work with local, state, and national law enforcement partners to secure justice for Ava.”

Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott shared a news video clip of the jet ski hit-and-run incident on the X social media platform with the caption: "Welcome to Texas. Here’s your Death Penalty."

Moore's family emphasized that "forgiveness" will be paramount in moving forward following the tragedy.

“This is a difficult time for all involved, but also an opportunity for our beautiful girl to continue to impact our community,” Moore's family said in a statement that was shared during a press conference on Wednesday, according to NewsNation.

“Out of this tragedy, God will make good — and that only can be accomplished through forgiveness,” the family added.

According to a GoFundMe campaign launched to financially assist Moore's family with her funeral, the teen graduated from Timber Creek High School in 2024, where she was an "outstanding student and athlete."

As of Wednesday afternoon, the GoFundMe campaign had raised more than $35,000.

Moore reportedly had just returned to Texas from Colorado to visit her parents after graduating from the U.S. Air Force Academy Preparatory School just over a week before the tragic accident.

Moore was purportedly just weeks away from starting basic training before she was killed on Sunday.

Moore’s former basketball coach, Ke’Sha Blanton, said she was "a four-star general in the making."

"Ava was everything this country would want to represent it," Blanton told KRDO-TV.

The U.S. Air Force Academy said in a statement that Moore had "accepted an appointment to join the Academy as a member of the Class of 2029."

Academy Superintendent Lt. Gen. Tony Bauernfeind said, "We lost an exemplary teammate this weekend — cadet candidate Ava Moore, whose passion for leadership and service left an impact on everyone she met."

"Ava’s constant happiness and attitude helped her squadron get through the challenges of the prep school, and her drive to excel was on display as she sought out leadership positions to improve herself and her team," Bauernfeind continued. "Our team is focused on providing support to Ava’s family, her prep school squadron, the prep school women’s basketball team, and the entire academy family."

'Chunk of hair' allegedly found on smashed windshield; cops say it resembles fatal hit-and-run victim's hair — and case turns

Chicago police allegedly found a "chunk of hair" embedded in the smashed windshield of a vehicle they pulled over last week — and it just so happens that officers were investigating a fatal hit-and-run in the area, CWB Chicago said.

One factor that helped turn the case toward getting solved was that police allegedly noticed that the hair in the windshield resembled the hair of the deceased 76-year-old hit-and-run victim, the outlet noted.

Tolefree was charged with failure to report a fatal accident — which is a felony.

Patrolling officers on the city's South Side found the victim lying lifeless in traffic lanes near 70th Street and Western Avenue just before 9:30 p.m. last Tuesday, CWB Chicago said.

  Armando L. Sanchez/Chicago Tribune

Witnesses told officers they saw the driver of a speeding silver vehicle strike the man while traveling north on Western, the outlet said, citing a police report — and the driver kept going.

More from CWB Chicago:

About 30 minutes later, officers at the crash scene saw a silver Hyundai Santa Fe travel past them with a heavily damaged front end and a “large crack” in the windshield, the report said.

Cops tried to stop the car, but the driver took “an unusual amount of time to pull over,” according to their report. Once the driver stopped, the cops allegedly found a “chunk of hair” similar to the victim’s embedded in the windshield. They said they also noticed Svedka vodka bottles on the passenger seat and under the driver’s seat, the report said.

Arresting officers said the driver, 29-year-old Nyamca Tolefree, asked “multiple times” to lean on their squad car so she could stay upright. Their report said they could “smell a heavy odor of alcoholic beverage” on her breath and body and said she exhibited “slurred, thick tongued and stuttered speech.”

Tolefree urinated on herself while riding to the hospital in the back seat of a squad car, CPD’s arrest report said. She refused sobriety tests and made “multiple utterances” about being involved in a crash while driving, according to the report.

While police initially indicated that Tolefree faced a misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of alcohol, the outlet said prosecutors didn't end up charging her with DUI.

CWB Chicago said, however, that Tolefree was charged with failure to report a fatal accident — which is a felony. She also was cited for transporting alcohol as a driver, failure to exercise due care, and failure to reduce speed, the outlet added.

Judge Luciano Panici Jr. ordered Tolefree detained pending trial, CWB Chicago reported.

Blaze News reached out to the Cook County State's Attorney's Office for comment, particularly in regard to why Tolefree wasn't ultimately charged with DUI — and officials there responded to Blaze News on Wednesday, saying they "approved the felony charge of Leaving the Scene of a Fatality, and the misdemeanor charge filed by police was dismissed." The CCSAO added that Tolefree remains in custody at the Cook County Jail, and her next court appearance is scheduled for June 4.

"As this matter is pending litigation, we are unable to further comment," the CCSAO added to Blaze News.

16-year-old suspected driver arrested after store worker, 60, run over repeatedly, killed while trying to stop shoplifting

A 16-year-old suspected get-away driver was arrested Friday after a Southern California store worker, 60, was beaten up, run over repeatedly, and killed while trying to stop a robbery earlier this month.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's investigators are trying to identify several other suspects seen in the vehicle during and after the April 9 incident that took the life of Kourosh "Steve" Yaghoubi, who was helping at his brother's store in South El Monte, KABC-TV reported.

'I was there at the last minute of his life. I saw his face. I saw his eyes.'

The suspect reportedly asked Yaghoubi for a $10 box of masks and then walked out of the Giant Discount store in the 2000 block of Durfee without paying, the station said.

Yaghoubi chased after the shoplifter, KABC said, after which Yaghoubi was physically attacked in the parking lot.

"Doors open, two other guys exit the car, and one of them punches my brother in the head, he holds his head, and he goes down," Yaghoubi's brother Jim told the station.

The three males then got back into the car and ran over Yaghoubi, KABC said — first as they backed out of the parking space and again as they sped off.

"The body under the car was turning, all the way from the front tire to the back tire," Jim recalled to the station, which said he watched his brother's life get taken away.

"I don't know why this happened," Jim also told KABC, adding that "I was there at the last minute of his life. I saw his face. I saw his eyes."

Paramedics pronounced Yaghoubi dead at the scene, KTLA-TV reported.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office will determine if charges are filed against the 16-year-old male suspect, whose identity was not released, KABC said.

You can view KABC's video report here. You can view initial video reports here and here.

Those with information about this incident are asked to contact the LASD's Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500, KABC said.

Watch wild dashcam video of hit-and-run crash that led to bizarre chain of events culminating in arrest of rock star's wife

Newly released dashcam video shows the moment of a crazy hit-and-run accident involving multiple vehicles in Southern California last week that led to a bizarre chain of events culminating in the arrest of the wife of rock band Weezer's bassist.

As Blaze News previously reported, 51-year-old best-selling author Jillian Lauren Shriner was arrested last Tuesday and charged with attempted murder of a peace officer.

'It’s crazy how just one man can cause so much chaos.'

Shriner exited her home in the Eagle Rock neighborhood of Los Angeles at the same time police swarmed the area to search for three suspects involved in a hit-and-run incident. Police say Shriner was armed with a handgun.

“The officers ordered Shriner to drop the handgun multiple times; however, she refused," according to the police report obtained by KNBC-TV. "Shriner then pointed the handgun at the officers, and an officer-involved shooting occurred."

Citing Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson Jennifer Forkish, the Los Angeles Times reported that Shriner "pointed her gun at officers" and "opened fire."

Cops allegedly returned fire and shot Shriner in the shoulder, and then she fled into her home.

Shriner then purportedly exited her house and surrendered to the police. She was transported to a hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Police reportedly recovered a 9mm handgun from Shriner's home.

Shriner — the wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner — was taken into custody but released after posting a $1 million bond.

Police officers reportedly apprehended the alleged hit-and-run driver in a neighboring back yard. Video seemingly shows the suspect attempting to blend into the neighborhood by watering a garden and wearing only his boxers.

The man was arrested and charged with one count of misdemeanor hit-and-run. He allegedly got into a car crash with two other vehicles on a nearby freeway.

KABC-TV released wild dashcam video of the crash, as well as the suspect fleeing the crime scene with clothes and a guitar.

Video shows a gray sedan swerving across multiple lanes, slamming into a black car, and then a Tesla crashing into the other vehicles from the rear.

David Gonzalez was driving his brand-new Telsa when he was involved in the three-car collision.

“I thought I was in an episode of 'GTA,'" Gonzalez said of the crash, referring to the Grand Theft Auto video game. "Honestly, that stuff just doesn’t happen."

Gonzalez suffered an injured back and broken arm in the crash and will require surgery.

His Tesla, which he purchased just two weeks ago, was totaled.

Gonzalez said of the events following the car crash, "Ripple effect. At the moment, I had no clue what happened after, but it’s crazy how just one man can cause so much chaos."

Shriner is scheduled to return to court on April 30.

Hit-and-run suspect apprehended by UFC fighter Henry Cejudo after allegedly crashing into house and assaulting elderly man

Two-time UFC champion Henry Cejudo apprehended an individual after the suspect allegedly crashed into a house and assaulted an elderly male.

Cejudo, an Olympic gold medalist who once held the UFC bantamweight and flyweight titles simultaneously, spoke to reporters outside his home in Phoenix, Arizona, after a loud crash interrupted his morning workout.

"All of a sudden, I see this car. Our neighborhood's kinda like a U. So I see this car coming in, you know, with a huge right turn, probably going 80-100 miles an hour. Next, you know what? I hear this big sound and a boom. I knew he had hit something or somebody, but I knew something had happened," Cejudo recalled.

Cejudo said the car, which was driven by a group of at least four teenagers, crashed right into his neighbor's house and narrowly missed hitting the residents.

"If you see inside this room, like, if somebody was standing, they'd be dead," Cejudo claimed.

The suspects exited the car one at a time, at which point Cejudo allegedly said, "You guys got to be held accountable for what just happened."

'He ends up cold-cocking my neighbor.'

The driver was confronted by the owner of the house but allegedly punched the homeowner multiple times and began to flee. The victim was a 65-year-old male, according to Cejudo's producer Dylan Rush, who posted a video of the report on his Instagram page. A video from MMA Junkie showed the elderly man bleeding from his head from the apparent assault.

"He ends up cold-cocking my neighbor. And you know, that's when I had to step in," Cejudo said.

The wrestler then allegedly ran down the suspect and apprehended him.

"Ended up dropping him — lifting him, dropping him, slapped him around a little bit, and just pretty much control him with one arm," the fighter detailed. "So he wasn't that tough," he laughed.

Rush also stated that the suspect continued to resist until a local resident "pointed a gun at him," which resulted in the suspect cooperating until police arrived.

"I don't know if these guys had guns," Cejudo told reporters. "And then once he hit my neighbor, I was like, all right, man. All in."

According to Bounding into Sports, the driver was just 22 years old and was charged with driving under the influence and assault.

Disturbing video shows Amazon delivery driver running van over shrieking woman, dragging her, then fleeing scene

A disturbing video has surfaced of a delivery driver running over a woman with an Amazon van in Baltimore, Maryland. The video shows the delivery driver fleeing the scene of the alleged hit-and-run as the woman shrieks in agony.

According to police, the incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The Amazon driver checks on the woman for about 25 seconds before going back into the van and driving away.

Police named Jerome Allan Young Jr. — a 26-year-old of Baltimore County — as the hit-and-run suspect and issued an arrest warrant against him.

Police said in a statement, "Officers learned that Young suspect struck a 29-year-old female pedestrian with an Amazon-branded work van."

Video from a Ring doorbell camera WBFF-TV obtained shows the moment the van rolls through an intersection while a green traffic light is on. However, a woman was in the crosswalk at the same time.

The van driver hit he woman, and she was dragged several feet before falling under the vehicle. The van driver then stops with the victim underneath the vehicle. The driver then pulls forward and runs over the woman a second time with the rear tires.

The woman is heard crying, shrieking in pain, and begging for help during the incident.

The driver then stops the van, exits the vehicle, and walks to the woman in the middle of the intersection.

The Amazon driver checks on the woman for about 25 seconds before going back into the van and driving away.

A driver behind the Amazon van pulled over, and that female motorist rushed to assist the woman.

The female driver is heard asking, "Are you OK?"

Emergency personnel arrived at the scene shortly after the incident.

A Baltimore Police Department spokesperson told WBFF the victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police added on Thursday afternoon that Young turned himself in at a Baltimore County Precinct and was taken into custody.

Young was transported to the Baltimore Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was charged with negligent and reckless driving. Police noted that "additional charges are pending."

'It's a zoo out here, man': Teen girl killed after driver plows into crowd following late-night fight in downtown Minneapolis

A teenage girl was killed after a hit-and-run driver plowed into a crowd following an after-midnight fight involving multiple teens over the weekend in downtown Minneapolis — and business owners and residents are fed-up with the lawlessness, WCCO-TV reported.

Officers responded to a report of a hit-and-run crash on Fifth Street North at Hennepin Avenue around 12:23 a.m. Saturday, the station said, citing police, who said the female suspect drove in reverse on Hennepin and then drove the wrong way on Fifth Street into the crowd.

Chief O'Hara added to WCCO, presumably in reference to the involved teenagers, that 'I'm not their parent, right? So I can tell you my kid isn't gonna be hanging out on Hennepin Avenue at 12:30 at night in the middle of all this stuff going on here with bars.'

Six people were taken to Hennepin Healthcare, including a 16-year-old girl who later died, the station said, adding that another victim sustained life-threatening injuries while a handful of others suffered less serious injuries.

"The video of this incident is absolutely horrific," Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara said, according to WCCO. "There aren't words to describe how tragic and senseless it is."

The station interviewed residents and business owners who expressed outrage and frustration over what they call an out-of-control environment that plays out on a weekly basis.

"It's a nuthouse out here, man," one downtown resident told WCCO. "That's every weekend. I'm surprised it hasn't happened sooner." The resident added to the station off camera that "it's a zoo out here, man, and it's not getting any better."

Daniel Stensgaard, a business owner, added to the station that city leaders "should have their asses down here starting at 11 o'clock at night and let them walk around and watch the shortage of police officers and what's happened."

Chief O'Hara added to WCCO, presumably in reference to the involved teenagers, that "I'm not their parent, right? So I can tell you my kid isn't gonna be hanging out on Hennepin Avenue at 12:30 at night in the middle of all this stuff going on here with bars."

The police report added that the suspect drove out of downtown but that witnesses followed her, the station said. Police noted that representatives from multiple law enforcement agencies stopped the suspect on the 2300 block of Bryant Avenue North and arrested her, after which she was booked into Hennepin County Jail, WCCO said, adding that charges are pending.

You can view a video report here about the incident, which includes interviews with concerned locals and business owners as well as a brief clip of the hit-and-run, which appears to end prior to the moment of impact.

2 Nevada state troopers conducting wellness check die after inebriated suspect crashes into them on Las Vegas expressway

Two Nevada state troopers were killed earlier this week after an intoxicated man allegedly struck them while they were conducting a wellness check on another Las Vegas motorist.

Just before 3:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, Nevada Highway Patrol Sgt. Michael Abbate and Trooper Alberto Felix were checking on a driver who had reportedly fallen asleep on the northbound I-15 interstate near D Street, located just a few blocks northwest of Downtown Las Vegas. While the troopers were attending to the sleeping driver, another driver in a white Chevrolet HHR struck them and sped away.

Sadly, one of the troopers died at the scene, while the other perished at a nearby hospital soon after, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported, devastating the Nevada law enforcement community. In a moving tribute to their fallen brothers, members of agencies at both the state and local levels gathered as officers on motorcycles with flashing lights but no sirens led a solemn procession to transport Abbate's and Felix's remains from the Clark County Coroner's Office to the funeral home.

Part of that procession can be seen in the clip below:

Suspect in custody after 2 Nevada State Police troopers struck, killed on Las Vegas freeway www.youtube.com

Abbate had been with the Nevada Highway Patrol for nearly a decade and was promoted to sergeant just a few weeks ago. Trooper Felix joined NHP in 2019 after serving honorably in the Air Force.

"Both Sergeant Abbate and Trooper Felix dedicated their careers to serving the State of Nevada with exceptional commitment and pride," said a statement from Nevada State Police Public Information Officer Kim Yoko Smith. "The Nevada State Police extends its heartfelt condolences to the families, friends, and colleagues of our fallen heroes. We respectfully request that the media maintain the privacy of the families and the Department during this challenging time."

— (@)

Gov. Joe Lombardo (R) — a former sheriff of Clark County, where Las Vegas is located — ordered all state and U.S. flags to be lowered to half-mast until the sunset after Abbate and Felix are interred. "This is a devastating loss for Nevada law enforcement, the city of Las Vegas, and our entire state," the sheriff turned governor said in a statement. "As we mourn these troopers, we will never forget their bravery, courage, and sacrifice."

As Nevada troopers prepared to bury two of their own, local officers with the Las Vegas Metro Police Department began the work of tracking down the driver who killed them. By 8 a.m. Thursday morning, just hours after the deadly hit-and-run, police discovered the white HHR in the parking lot of an area apartment complex and soon afterward arrested 46-year-old Jemarcus Williams in connection with the case.

Williams has a long history of traffic violations in Las Vegas dating all the way back to 2007, the LVRJ reported. That year, Williams pled no contest to a DUI charge. In the following three years, he was arrested for allegedly driving without a license on four separate occasions. He also pled no contest to failing to yield the right of way in 2020.

This time, the charges against Williams are much more serious. He now faces six felonies: two counts of reckless driving resulting in death, two counts of DUI resulting in death, and two counts of failing to stop at the scene of a crash. When he is scheduled to appear in court and whether he has retained an attorney are currently unknown.
