Trump-endorsed candidate upset in shock primary loss

Trump-endorsed Rep. Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.) lost the Republican primary in Tennessee's 5th Congressional District on Thursday to newcomer Charlie Hatcher.

The loss comes after the Invest in Tomorrow Coalition PAC spent $2 million against Ogles as retribution for his opposition to green energy subsidies. Ogles was also affected by redistricting, with over 80% of voters in the redrawn district previously belonging to another.

‘Communist Democrats defeated Andy Ogles tonight in Tennessee, but we cannot let them win in November.’

Hatcher did not respond to requests for comment.

"Last night, the radical left successfully employed a strategy to influence a Republican primary," Ogles told Blaze News. "The night before early voting began, a California Green Energy PAC publicly disclosed a four-week, $2 million spending campaign all to defeat a Trump-endorsed America First conservative."

"Republicans across the country should take notice. If the left can spend millions to meddle in Republican primaries in Tennessee, they'll do it in every red state where they think they can buy the outcome," Ogles said. "While last night's outcome wasn't what I hoped, Charlie is a good man, and I will do whatever I can to help him be successful."

Ogles served in the House of Representatives for two terms. He introduced the Remigration Act bill in June, aiming to expand denaturalizations and deportations.

"Tennessee's 5th District just proved once again that standing in the way of America's energy future comes with a hefty political price,” ITC Chairman Tom Matzzie said in a statement provided to Blaze News. “This is our second upset in as many primaries — first Chip Roy, now Andy Ogles — and we will continue to punish members of either party who want to play politics with American jobs, energy security, and utility prices.”

“The entire map is in play, and we will take this fight across the country through November.”

Invest in Tomorrow’s campaign ran advertisements attacking Roy (R-Texas) as insufficiently MAGA. Roy lost his primary to state Sen. Mayes Middleton.

Matzzie previously held positions at MoveOn.Org, in John Kerry’s presidential campaign, at the Democratic National Committee, and at the AFL-CIO.The White House directed Blaze News to the president’s Friday Truth Social post when reached for comment.

"Last night was another good night for Endorsements, 8-1," Trump wrote. "The 1 was a person who I remained loyal to even though he had virtually no chance of winning, and was running against a Great 'Trump' Candidate."

Hatcher served as Tennessee’s commissioner of agriculture for seven years and received Gov. Bill Haslam's endorsement in July. The primary winner positioned himself as a Trump ally and voice for rural Tennesseans during the campaign.

“Congressman Andy Ogles lost tonight because a super PAC bankrolled by left-wing California Democrats spent $2 million to raid the Republican primary. These leftist Democrats include a San Francisco billionaire who gave $12 million to Kamala Harris and has pledged to spend 'whatever it takes' to elect Gavin Newsom,” the Freedom Caucus Fund said in a statement.

That San Francisco billionaire is Ripple Labs co-founder Chris Larsen, who donated $6 million to the Invest in Tomorrow Coalition PAC between February and June 2026, according to Federal Election Commission disclosures. During the 2024 campaign, Larsen donated millions to Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign. Larsen is worth nearly $13 billion.

The Freedom Caucus Fund spent over $560,000 to defend Ogles against Invest in Tomorrow's campaign, according to a spokesperson.

“This same super PAC is pledging tens of millions to take out conservative pro-Trump Republicans in the House and Senate this November. Their goal is to destroy President Trump’s America First majority in Congress, install Hakeem Jeffries as speaker, and reinstate Biden’s Green New Scam that President Trump and the House Freedom Caucus eliminated in the Big Beautiful Bill.

"Communist Democrats defeated Andy Ogles tonight in Tennessee, but we cannot let them win in November.”

Ceuta is America’s border warning

Spain is offering the United States a warning we would be foolish to ignore.

For years, Democrats have pursued an immigration agenda built around weak enforcement, mass amnesty, and the surrender of national sovereignty to globalist priorities. Americans who want to see where that agenda can lead should look at Ceuta.

Codify secure borders now or prepare to watch the crisis return under the next Democratic administration.

In recent days, an estimated 60,000 migrants — many military-age men — attempted to overwhelm the small Spanish enclave on the Moroccan border. They arrived by land and sea, swamping local authorities and producing deadly chaos.

This was not an isolated event. It followed Spain’s moves toward amnesty for illegal immigrants, effectively signaling that unlawful entry might eventually be rewarded.

Spain’s Civil Guard described the border as totally collapsed. Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez rushed to the enclave, denounced the surge as a violation of Spain’s territorial integrity, and deployed the military.

By then, however, the warning was unmistakable. Ceuta has a population of roughly 85,000. A migrant surge approaching three-quarters of that number threatened to overwhelm the enclave in a matter of days.

Americans should recognize the pattern because we recently endured our own version of it.

During the Biden-Harris administration, the United States suffered four years of relentless border disorder. Record numbers of illegal immigrants crossed the southern border while the administration expanded catch-and-release, abused immigration parole, and allowed migrants to exploit an asylum system never designed to handle claims on that scale.

The result was a border that functioned less as a boundary and more as a processing center for unlawful entry.

President Trump’s return to office and his decisive executive actions have restored deterrence and operational control. But executive actions are temporary. A future Democratic administration could reverse them as quickly as Biden reversed Trump’s first-term policies.

Conservatives rightly insist on “no amnesty.” Honesty, however, requires us to confront a harder truth: Unless Congress closes the loopholes embedded in current law, America remains one presidential election away from another invasion.

The vulnerabilities exploited during the Biden years remain.

The Flores Settlement continues to encourage family units and unaccompanied minors to arrive at the border knowing that current law may lead to their release into the interior. The asylum system remains vulnerable to economic migrants who use dubious claims to gain admission. Mass parole authority and catch-and-release remain available to an administration determined to abuse them.

Presidential resolve is not enough. Congress must harden the law itself.

The House Freedom Caucus has used its leverage to advance the reforms necessary to do that. This summer, we secured a House Judiciary Committee markup for Texas Republican Rep. Chip Roy’s Permanent Trump Secure Border Act, H.R. 9773.

The bill carries forward the strongest border-security provisions of H.R. 2, which passed the House in the 118th Congress with overwhelming Republican support. It offers Congress a vehicle to make Trump’s successful border policies permanent and protect Americans from the next open-borders administration.

Its provisions are serious and targeted.

The bill would reform asylum by barring claims from migrants who passed through safe third countries, raising the credible-fear standard to “more likely than not” and limiting asylum applications to ports of entry.

It would end the abuse of mass parole, require detention or prompt return when operational control cannot be maintained, and mandate safe-third-country agreements.

It would also close loopholes created by the Flores Settlement that encourage the release of families and minors, crack down on visa overstays, and expand the criminal bars to asylum eligibility.

These reforms directly address the gaps the Biden-Harris administration exploited.

When Congress returns in September, Republican leaders must bring the Permanent Trump Secure Border Act to the floor immediately.

Partial measures will not suffice. Neither will another round of promises to address the border later. The left has not abandoned its vision of demographic transformation through unchecked migration. It is waiting for another opportunity to impose it.

Ceuta offers a preview of what can happen when government signals that borders are optional and unlawful entry may be rewarded.

America has restored order for now. The question is whether Congress will make that restoration durable.

The House Freedom Caucus has provided the blueprint. Republicans need to pass it.

Codify secure borders now — or prepare to watch the crisis return under the next Democratic administration. Our sovereignty, security, and rule of law depend on getting this right.

These Republicans want to make Trump's border policy permanent

The House Freedom Caucus has successfully forced a border security bill forward after accusing Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) of breaking his promise to bring border legislation to the floor by July 4.

Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) has advanced his Permanent Trump Secure Border Act to the House Judiciary Committee for markup. It is the first time this Congress that House Republicans are considering legislation codifying President Donald Trump’s executive border actions.

‘It’s time for Republicans to deliver the America First change we promised.’

“Securing a markup for my Permanent Trump Secure Border Act is a critical first step toward permanently enshrining President Trump’s successful border policies into law," Roy told Blaze News. "If Congress fails to act, nothing will prevent a future radical administration from undoing these policies and returning our nation to the border chaos of the past."

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) has scheduled the bill’s markup for 10:00 a.m. ET Tuesday. Markup is the congressional committee process where lawmakers debate and offer amendments to legislation.

“I commend Chairman Jordan for advancing this important legislation and helping move it one step closer to becoming law, and I hope we will soon also move two more priorities, including ending both sanctuary cities and falsely defined birthright citizenship," Roy said.

The Supreme Court upheld birthright citizenship 6-3 in Trump v. Barbara on June 30.

The PTSBA limits release for illegal aliens into the U.S. interior pending final removal orders. It also allows the secretary of Homeland Security to "return to a foreign territory contiguous to the United States any alien arriving on land from that territory," pending further proceedings.

“Congress must do everything in its power to protect our nation for future generations, including codifying President Trump’s border security policies. Failure to do so simply greenlights a future Democrat administration to reopen the floodgates for another invasion of illegal aliens — putting American lives and livelihoods at risk,” Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-Ga.) said about the bill. “It’s time for Republicans to deliver the America First change we promised, starting with permanently securing our borders in law and ending the revolving door of illegal immigration.”

The bill text restricts the large-scale release authority used by previous administrations by sharply limiting the Homeland Security secretary’s discretion regarding parole. The legislation states that parole may be granted only “on a case-by-case basis, and not according to eligibility criteria describing an entire class of potential parole recipients, for urgent humanitarian reasons or significant public benefit.”

It also generally bars paroled aliens from accepting employment while in the United States.

“Thanks to President Trump, our nation’s borders are secure, but our work is far from finished. Congressional Republicans must continue to pass commonsense legislation that reverses the damage created by Democrats and makes the administration’s actions permanent,” Rep. Ben Cline (R-Va.) told Blaze News. “This comprehensive immigration bill is the next step to keeping dangerous criminals out of our country and Americans safe for generations to come.”

Criminals are prohibited from claiming asylum according to the bill. This includes any alien convicted of a felony, driving under the influence, stalking, child abuse, domestic assault, or gang activity.

If the Permanent Trump Secure Border Act passes markup, its next stop is Speaker Johnson and the House Rules Committee.

Republicans Help Kill Resolution To Censure Democrat Linked To Jeffrey Epstein

The House of Representatives rejected a Republican-led effort to strip Democratic U.S. Virgin Islands delegate Stacey Plaskett of her prime spot on the House Intelligence Committee Tuesday evening, after a splinter group of Republicans joined Democrats to defeat the measure. Lawmakers voted 209 to 214 against formally censuring Plaskett, a nonvoting delegate after recently revealed […]

Democrat Who ‘Colluded’ With Jeffrey Epstein To Face House Censure

A group of conservative lawmakers is introducing a resolution that would remove Democratic non-voting delegate Stacey Plaskett from the House Intelligence Committee, citing resurfaced messages she exchanged with the late convicted sex predator Jeffrey Epstein during a 2019 congressional hearing. Plaskett, who represents the U.S. Virgin Islands in Congress, appeared to collaborate with Epstein about […]

Democrat lawmaker faces censure for 'colluding' with Epstein during congressional hearing

House Freedom Caucus member Ralph Norman (R-S.C.) filed a motion to censure Democratic House Delegate Stacey Plaskett of the Virgin Islands after bombshell emails revealed she was "colluding" with Epstein during a congressional hearing.

The House Oversight Committee released tens of thousands of documents from Epstein's estate last week that revealed Plaskett had been texting Epstein, a convicted sex offender, during a 2019 congressional hearing. In the documents, Plaskett appeared to be asking Epstein for advice on how to question Michael Cohen, then one of President Donald Trump's lawyers.

'The censure would formally condemn Plaskett and strip her of her committee assignments.'

Plaskett had been texting Epstein during the hearing, where he even complimented the Democrat's outfit.

Plaskett's office later released a statement confirming she had exchanged texts with Epstein, saying she welcomes information that "helps her get at the truth."

"During the hearing, Congresswoman Plaskett received texts from staff, constituents, and the public at large offering advice, support, and in some cases partisan vitriol, including from Epstein," Plaskett's office said in a statement to the Washington Post.

"As a former prosecutor she welcomes information that helps her get at the truth and took on the GOP that was trying to bury the truth. The congresswoman has previously made clear her long record combating sexual assault and human trafficking, her disgust over Epstein’s deviant behavior, and her support for his victims.”

Following these revelations, the House Freedom Caucus is leading the charge on Plaskett's censure. The censure would formally condemn Plaskett and strip her of her committee assignments, including the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

Republicans rage over Senate's ‘watered-down’ version of Trump's 'big, beautiful bill'

Republican lawmakers are becoming increasingly frustrated with the Senate as the parliamentarian continues to hack away at key provisions in President Donald Trump's "big, beautiful bill."

The latest ruling from the Senate parliamentarian has sent Republicans into a tailspin. It struck several Medicaid-related reforms that many conservatives fought for. Some of these provisions include limiting federal funds to states that allow illegal aliens to receive Medicaid benefits, prohibiting federal funds for "gender-affirming care," and preventing non-expansion states from increasing their current provider tax rates.

'The Senate should know better than to send a bill with this waste of taxpayer money back to the House.'

"How is it that an unelected swamp bureaucrat, who was appointed by Harry Reid over a decade ago, gets to decide what can and cannot go in President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill? The Senate Parliamentarian is not elected," Republican Rep. Greg Steube of Florida said in a post on X. "She is not accountable to the American people. Yet she holds veto power over legislation supported by millions of voters."

"We are trying to undo the America LAST insanity from the Democrats by kicking illegals off of Medicare and Medicaid and stopping taxpayer subsidies from being used for genital mutilation of children!!" Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia said in a post on X.

Although the parliamentarian is able to issue advisory rulings over which provisions are in violation of the Byrd Rule, they can be overruled, which is what Republican Rep. Keith Self of Texas is calling for.

"The rogue Senate Parliamentarian should be overruled, just like activist judges."

It's not just the Medicaid provisions that have sparked outrage amongs Republican lawmakers. The Senate has hardly rolled back Biden-era green-energy subsidies that were implemented through the Inflation Reduction Act. Many Republicans in the House made it clear that aggressive cuts were nonnegotiable, yet the Senate is extending certain solar and wind subsidies through at least 2030 and in some cases through 2040.

"The American people are sick and tired of their tax dollars funding Chinese solar panels and inefficient wind turbines that are destroying our land," Republican Rep. Mary Miller of Illinois told Blaze News. "President Trump made it clear he wants no Green New Scam tax credits in the big, beautiful bill. The Senate must follow the House's lead and get it done — this is our opportunity to protect our farmland, our food supply, and our energy independence."

“Congress has a chance to end the left’s Green New Scam for good, but if Senate Republicans swap the House’s firm ‘placed in service’ deadline for the vague ‘construction begins’ standard, we will fail to deliver on President Trump’s promise," Republican Rep. Tom Tiffany of Wisconsin told Blaze News. "This loophole would let wind and solar subsidies drag on for years — long after Trump’s second term — destroying American farmland and threatening our power grid."

"Americans didn’t elect Republicans to rubber-stamp Joe Biden’s radical Green New Deal scam," Self said in a post on X. "The Senate’s watered-down 'Big Beautiful Bill' wastes billions on climate schemes."

Republicans maintained that if the Senate punts this "watered-down" bill back to the House, they will likely not have the votes to pass the bill before the July 4 deadline.

"Biden's Green New Scam offers massive, unchecked subsidies to billion-dollar corporations and Chinese manufacturers, undermining American energy independence and economic freedom," Republican Rep. Mark Harris of North Carolina told Blaze News. "Yet the Senate is reportedly gutting our hard-fought House measures to stop these tax giveaways. President Trump wants them gone, and so do I. The Senate should know better than to send a bill with this waste of taxpayer money back to the House.”
