Feminism over loyalty and tradition: Michelle Obama’s message to black America

Michelle Obama appears to have decided it would be best not to attend Donald Trump’s inauguration or participate in Jimmy Carter’s funeral.

Jason Whitlock of “Fearless” believes it’s more than just a personal decision; it's a message to black American women.

“It’s a message,” Whitlock says, “to the rest of women, black women in particular, that this is the idea. Expectations, protocols, traditions mean nothing. You establish new protocol, new traditions, new expectations. Out with the old, in with the new.”

“It’s a recipe for the kind of destruction and chaos that I think I see throughout all of America, but particularly in black America,” he adds.

Shemeka Michelle is in full agreement.

“I think they’re sending this message because black women have bought into feminism hook, line, and sinker. And we are too stupid to look around and see that it hasn’t really worked out in our best interest,” Michelle says.

“Not only are more black women single, they are single mothers. Our kids have gone astray, and we don’t see the real effects that it’s had,” she continues, adding, “black women and black men alike will applaud Michelle Obama for standing 10 toes down and not going to the inauguration.”

“That’s how little the black man is respected, that it’s okay to hate Trump more than you put on a united front with your husband, more than you show that you are submissive and following your husband,” she adds.

This is why Michelle and so many others have so much respect for Melania Trump.

“It appears that if he says, ‘Jump,’ she says, ‘How high?’ When he moved, she moved, just like that,” Michelle says. “I’m sure she has gone to events that she didn’t want to be at, but she actually showed up to support her husband.”

Trump and Obama chummy at Carter funeral: Lip-readers say URGENT meeting arranged

Former President Jimmy Carter passed away at the age of 100, shortly after his family claimed that “he stayed with us at the ripe old age of 100 so he could make sure to vote for Kamala Harris.”

While Sara Gonzales of “Sara Gonzales Unfiltered” finds his family’s commentary that politicized his death amusing, what she found interesting was what happened at his funeral service.

“It was actually really fascinating to watch, because you had Donald Trump, you had Obama,” Gonzales begins, “you had Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, you had George W. Bush, you had Mike Pence, you had all of these different people.”

When Trump walked into the funeral service, Al Gore and Mike Pence immediately stood up to shake the president-elect’s hand. When Obama then walked in, he shook hands with Pence and Gore as well and seemed to be ignoring Trump.

“I would speculate that they were already, like, back somewhere in the same room, so probably already greeted each other, but they know this is a moment of formality right? So he goes and sits next to Donald Trump without shaking his hand, Donald Trump goes and talks to him, and so they kind of have this moment. Looks friendly to me,” Gonazles explains.

George W. Bush then walked in with his wife and passed Trump and Melania without acknowledging them, before playfully smacking Obama in the stomach.

“It’s so crazy to me to watch the dynamic between all of these people,” Gonzales says.

A forensic lip-reader then claimed in a Daily Mail report that he believes when Trump leaned in toward Obama, he said, “I can’t talk; we have to find a quiet place. This is a matter of importance, and we need to do this outside so that we can deal with it, certainly today.”

Obama then nodded, and according to the lip-reader, both men said “right” and “okay.”

“Clearly, Trump was trying to engage in a friendly-type relationship or at least conversation with this guy, which says a lot, because remember, Obama spied on Donald Trump’s campaign illegally,” Gonzales says, adding, “Like, you have every reason to hate this guy, and instead he’s leaning over and trying to talk to him.”

'Godless commies': Social media erupts at bizarre music performance for Jimmy Carter's funeral

Some on social media were surprised at the musical choice for a performance at the funeral of Jimmy Carter, the 39th president of the United States.

In front of past presidents and numerous dignitaries, Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks sang a rendition of "Imagine" by John Lennon at Carter's funeral Thursday at the Washington National Cathedral.

'An indicator of the spinelessness of too much of established religion in our country.'

Carter was known by many of his supporters as a principled Christian and had taught Sunday School at his church for decades. The choice of a song known as a communist, anti-Christian anthem appeared to be discordant at best.

"Having [President] Joe Biden lecture us about what a strong Christian Jimmy Carter was before the crowd sits through 'Imagine' with the lyrics 'Imagine there's no heaven /It's easy if you try' makes me question the authenticity of the assertion," responded talk radio host Erick Erickson.

"Do you think these are appropriate lyrics to sing at someone’s passing: Imagine there’s no heaven? Bunch of godless commies," read another tweet.

"I was appalled when two country singers launched into a rendition of John Lennon’s 'Imagine,'" responded Bishop Robert Barron. "Vested ministers sat patiently while a hymn to atheistic humanism was sung. This was not only an insult to the memory of a devoutly believing Christian but also an indicator of the spinelessness of too much of established religion in our country."

Others used the occasion for jokes.

"In fairness, they were Episcopalian. That’s almost not a real church anyway," responded commentator Emily Zanotti.

At the funeral, cameras caught Vice President Kamala Harris scowling at an interaction between former President Barack Obama and President-elect Donald Trump.
