Josh Duggar’s arrest

Josh Duggar seemed to have it all.

However, the star of the TLC series "19 Kids and Counting" saw his show canceled after news broke that he had molested multiple underage girls over the course of his life. He was then arrested on federal charges of receiving and possessing child pornography in 2021.

Allie Beth Stuckey sat down with his sister Jinger Duggar Vuolo and her husband, Jeremy Vuolo, who opened up about what life has been like since these revelations about Jinger’s brother came to light.

Jinger says, “In that time when my brother was about to be arrested, I was looking at all of this and I was thinking, man, the glory of God is just, it’s going to be dragged through the dirt,” all because her brother claimed to be a Christian.

“I can’t imagine how difficult that must have been to see your brother, a family member, be convicted of something that egregious,” Allie responds.

Despite the terrible revelations, Allie has an idea of what part of the problem may be.

In purity culture, which the Duggar family had embraced, Allie believes that “a lack of vulnerability and honesty about one’s struggles or desires of whatever it is — that does kind of push people further into darkness and hiding.”

“So, rather than someone being comfortable with saying, ‘Well, you know, I’m being tempted to sin in this way and I don’t want to,’ you would hide it maybe because you don’t even want to admit … that you’re tempted in any way, and that just kind of, it pushes people.”

Josh Duggar reportedly had more than 200 images of child pornography on his computer — including footage of babies as young as 18 months: 'Top five of the worst of the worst'

Embattled former reality star Josh Duggar reportedly had more than 200 images of child pornography on his computer, according to federal authorities.

Authorities arrested Duggar last week and charged him with possession of child pornography.

He had pleaded not guilty.

What are the details?

People magazine on Wednesday reported that a Homeland Security agent accused Duggar of having more than 200 child pornography-related images on his computer dating back to 2019.

According to the report, Duggar downloaded the images on his computer between May 14 and May 16, 2019.

One file, according to authorities, reportedly contained pornographic images of children ranging in age from 18 months to 12 years old.

The agent said that the images were "in the top five of the worst of the worst that [he'd] ever had to examine."

People reported that Duggar's computer reportedly had a porn addiction software program that sent reports to his wife, Anna, but that he had somehow reportedly bypassed the filters.

Authorities released Duggar on bail following a Wednesday hearing. He was placed with a family close to the Duggars, according to Fox News, and is only permitted to contact his children if his wife is present.

Fox also reported that Duggar was also required to surrender his passport and submit to GPS monitoring at all all times as other conditions of his bail. He is not permitted to leave his guardians' home except for "employment, court obligations, [and] church."

Any other locations must be pre-approved by his probation officer, Fox added.

If convicted on the charges, Duggar faces up to 20 years in prison and fines of up to $250,000.

Duggar was previously accused of sexually abusing underage minors, including four of his sisters, when he was a teenager. The Duggar family's hit reality show, "19 Kids and Counting," was canceled following the bombshell's emergence in 2015.

Josh Duggar of '19 Kids and Counting' charged with possession of child porn; some victims under the age of 12

Authorities have charged former reality TV star Josh Duggar with receipt of child pornography and possession of child pornography.

According to reports, some children featured in the material were under the age of 12.

Authorities arrested Duggar, 33, in Arkansas on Thursday.

What are the details?

Duggar pleaded not guilty Friday to the charges in the Western District Court of Arkansas.

The charges stem from a May 2019 incident in which Duggar was said to have downloaded child pornography.

USA Today reported that a news release on the charges stated, "Duggar allegedly possessed this material, some of which depicts the sexual abuse of children."

A judge ordered Duggar held at the Washington County Detention Center until a May 5 bond hearing.

If convicted on the charges, Duggar faces up to 20 years in prison and fines of up to $250,000.

Justin Gelfand, Duggar's lawyer, issued a statement on the embattled former reality star's arrest, saying, "In this country, no one can stop prosecutors from charging a crime. But when you're accused, you can fight back in the courtroom — and that is exactly what Josh intends to do."

Parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar — "19 Kids and Counting" patriarch and matriarch — also issued a statement of support for their eldest son.

The statement said, "We appreciate your continued prayers for our family at this time. The accusations brought against Joshua today are very serious. It is our prayer that the truth, no matter what it is, will come to light and that this will be resolved in a timely manner. We love Josh and [his wife] Anna and continue to pray for their family."

What else?

Duggar's arrest came just days after his wife, Anna, joyfully announced that she is pregnant with the couple's seventh child.

Duggar was previously accused of sexually abusing at least five underage girls — some of whom were his sisters — when he was a teenager.

TLC cancelled "19 Kids and Counting" following the allegations in 2015.
