'Mess around and find out': Thief tries to rob the wrong car, gets 'butt whipped' by 66-year-old Florida man

A Florida man suffered a demoralizing comeuppance when he attempted to carjack the wrong person, according to police.

A car thief reportedly attempted to steal a vehicle that was parked outside a residence early Thursday morning. The owner heard a commotion outside his home and called 911 after seeing a man attempting to break into his car.

The suspect – identified by police as 29-year-old Blake Robinson – was confronted by the 66-year-old owner of the vehicle before law enforcement arrived at the crime scene.

Authorities said the pair got into a physical altercation and Robinson knocked the owner to the ground and then kicked him in the head. However, Robert Polk fought back and was able to incapacitate Robinson until police arrived.

The Brevard County Sheriff's Office said in a post on Facebook, "Welcome to Brevard County, where we proudly support… 'Play stupid games…win stupid prizes.'"

Brevard County Sheriff's Office deputies arrived at the crime scene and arrested Robinson, who allegedly had blood around his mouth and "was seemingly having a tough time getting up off of the ground, after getting his butt whipped by a 66-year-old man!"

The sheriff's office wrote, "That’s right Mr. Tough Guy, Robinson, got manhandled by a 66-year-old man who thankfully only required brief medical treatment and was left without any serious injuries!"

Deputies noted Polk's face was red and swollen, and one of his ears was covered in blood.

Robinson needed to get medical attention after being beaten up by the owner, according to police.

The Brevard County Sheriff's Office wrote, "As for Robinson, he was fortunate enough to be in Brevard County where he won a few prizes for being stupid including a chauffeured ride to a local medical facility to check his injuries before arriving at his less than luxurious accommodations at 'Ivey's Iron Bar Lodge! At the lodge he was given a freshly washed 2 piece ensemble to get comfortable in, before being shown to his sleeping area in our open floor plan."

Robinson was charged with burglary of an unoccupied conveyance and felony battery on a person over the age of 65. He was booked in the Brevard County Jail on a $30,000 bond.

Sheriff Wayne Ivey said the suspect "got an enhanced charge for hitting someone over the age of 65 who ended up whooping his punk butt!"

Ivey added, "As we like to say here in Brevard County, 'Mess Around and Find Out!'"

New York cop who claimed fellow officers were sending her threatening texts arrested for allegedly sending them herself

A female police officer in upstate New York accused her fellow officers of barraging her with threatening text messages, including invitations to kill herself. It appears that 36-year-old Emily Hirshowitz of the Ossining Police Department might be her own worst enemy.

Hirshowitz was charged Wednesday with three felony counts of first-degree filing a false instrument and four misdemeanor counts of third-degree falsely reporting an incident, reported the Journal News.

"There's a lot of mystery and confusion surrounding the allegations in this case and we'll evaluate as we learn more," said Paul DerOhannesian, the Albany criminal defense lawyer representing Hirshowitz.

Hirshowitz, on the force since 2016 and a police officer with the New Rochelle department two years prior, claimed in a report to the Westchester District Attorney's Office in White Plains in May 2022 that she had been the target of harassing text messages from multiple unknown numbers.

According to court documents, she claimed "that a fellow police officer or multiple police officers at my department are involved."

In July and August, Hirshowitz provided investigators with screenshots of additional text messages she claimed to have received, which were laden with obscene and abusive language, some urging her to commit suicide.

The Journal News indicated that village and police officials reached out to the WDAO on numerous occasions, expressing concern about the "increasingly threatening content" ostensibly being directed Hirshowitz's way.

The mounting pressure apparently prompted investigators to double down on their probe even after Hirshowitz — whom the OPD previously indicated "doesn't particularly care for publicity" — told them on Aug. 12 that she no longer wanted to pursue the complaint.

Fear over the purported harassment campaign snowballed, such that on Aug. 23, OPD Chief Kevin Sylvester held a mandatory meeting for those on the force as well as the mayor and other village officials to discuss the text messages.

Greater attention brought greater scrutiny of the offending messages, which investigators began to suspect may have been sent by Hirshowitz in the first place.

The New York Post reported that by October, investigators obtained a search warrant for the officer's phone and Apple iCloud account. They soon determined that she was the likely culprit behind the messages and that several of the phone numbers linked to the damning messages were under her control.

Hirshowitz would thus have allegedly known that her complaints filed with the district attorney's office contained false information.

The 36-year-old has been suspended with pay and is due to appear at the White Plains City Court on July 12.

While alleged victim and aggressor may soon face justice together, the criminal complaint indicated Hirshowitz could have had an accomplice, noting that a different individual known to the WDAO possibly sent some of the texts captured on three of the screenshots Hirshowitz gave to police on July 1, 2022.

Although a second suspect has not been charged or named in the case, Michael Santangelo, a lawyer for Louis Rinaldi, the former Ossining police officer who resigned last year after facing unrelated disciplinary charges, noted his client was a focus of the investigation, reported the Journal News.

The Journal News indicated the WDAO, the OPD, and Mayor Rika Levin had yet to respond to requests for comment.

Thief tries to steal St. Michael the Archangel statue from church — then karma strikes with great vengeance

A would-be robber nearly pulled off the theft of a St. Michael the Archangel statue from a church in Mexico. However, the pilfering was thwarted by one consequential misstep by the thief.

During the early hours of Jan. 14, a man broke into the Christ the King Parish in Monterrey, Mexico, approximately 150 miles from the border with Texas. Carlos Alonso, 32, reportedly hopped over a fence, smashed a glass door, and broke into the Christ the King Parish.

The man tried to steal a statue of St. Michael the Archangel. According to local reports, the thief was intoxicated during the attempted robbery.

While attempting to steal the holy statue, Alonso allegedly tripped and fell on top of Saint Michael's sword. During the stumble, the man seriously injured his neck.

ABC Noticias said, "The tip of the Archangel's sword pricked the neck of the alleged 32-year-old thief." The Mexican media outlet called the thief's karmic self-sabotage "a matter of divine justice."

A passerby witnessed the severely injured man clutching his neck at the church and called for emergency medical help.

The Catholic News Agency reported, "Monterrey Civil Protection personnel arrived at the scene, cut the padlock on the main gate of the fence, and saved the would-be thief’s life."

The man initially declined medical treatment for his wounds. However, the drunk man was taken to a clinic for medical treatment of his injured neck.

Monterrey Police will reportedly turn over Alonso to the public prosecutor's office once he is out of the hospital. The statue of St. Michael the Archangel was unharmed. The owner of a store that sells religious items across from the Christ the King Parish believes that karma struck down the would-be thief.

"That happened to him for doing bad things," the store owner said. "Saint Michael is for protection, to combat evil, I think that’s why that happened to him."

A neighbor added that St. Michael the Archangel is "the great protector."

Saint Michael is an archangel, protector, and leader of the army of God against the forces of evil. Saint Michael is often depicted with a flaming sword and scales of justice.

St. Michael triumphantly defeats Satan and his hordes, banishing them from heaven, according to the Bible.

Revelation 12:7-10:

And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, and prevailed not; neither was their place found anymore in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the Earth, and his angels were cast out with him. And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, "Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night."

Trump-hating motorist spits on MAGA guy's banner, appears to curse him out as he speeds off — and then pays for it, bigly

A left-wing motorist decided to take some time out of his day to jabber with supporters of President Donald Trump at a "Stop the Steal" rally in Houston over the weekend — and it ended badly for him.

What are the details?

A short clip circulating on social media shows one of the Trump supporters standing on a sidewalk holding a pro-Trump banner in front of the driver's open window. They exchange words — some of them of the four-letter variety — and the phrase "you lost" is stated.

At one point the driver appears to spit on the banner — his face is obscured by the banner, but the distinct sound of spitting is audible — and the Trump supporter appears to spit back at the driver.

Then as the driver speeds away, he makes the mistake of turning his head back toward the Trump supporter in order to deliver one, final parting shot: "Stupid asshole!" he apparently yells.

Turns out it was a major mistake on his part.

He promptly crashes his car into a light pole — to the delight of nearby Trump fans.

"That's what you get! All that hate!" someone yells at the driver, soon adding, "Look what it did to you, man!"

Another Trump supporter tells the driver his accident is "unfortunate" as the motorist unsuccessfully tries gunning the car's engine to move it away from the pole — and the damaged vehicle just won't cooperate.

Seconds later the same Trump supporter notices flashing lights and announces, "Oh, and now you've got the cops here!"

What happened next?

Another much longer video shows the aftermath of the crash, with vehicles from the Harris County Precinct 1 Constable's Office arriving on the scene.

The longer video — which focused on the rally — featured a short interview with a woman who said she and other Trump supporters were behaving "peacefully" when the motorist in question "drove up, and he yelled some derogatory words at us, and then he spit. And after he spit ... he sped away really fast and lost control of his car and crashed into the light post."

The woman added that the outcome was "hilarious" and characterized it as "totally funny karma. This is what happens. We're minding our own business, he comes around ... talking smack, cursing and spitting — spitting during COVID — on us, and then he speeds off and crashes. Karma. Trump 2020!"

The woman interviewed in the longer clip claimed the driver was arrested, but the Harris County Precinct 1 Constable's Office on Monday told TheBlaze that wasn't the case.

The official said there were no charges or citations issued in connection to Saturday's incident, which took place in front of a downtown courthouse near the 1200 block of Preston Street. The official also said a Trump supporter and a supporter of former Vice President Joe Biden engaged in a verbal argument that escalated into a "spitting match," after which the pro-Biden driver hit a light pole. Neither side wanted to press charges, the official also told TheBlaze.
