BREAKING: Sen. Lisa Murkowski VOTES NO on Kavanaugh cloture vote; cloture passes

Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, voted "no" on the cloture motion to end debate and advance Judge Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation. Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., voted "yes," advancing Kavanaugh forward.

Murkowski was one of several moderate senators who had not declared their votes prior to Friday morning's cloture vote. Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, will deliver a floor speech Friday at 3:00 p.m. ET declaring how she will vote in the final Kavanaugh vote on Saturday.

Democrat Sen. Joe Donnelly doesn’t want to win re-election, won’t vote for Kavanaugh

Another red-state Democrat has announced that he will not vote to confirm Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

Sen. Joe Donnelly, D-Ind., says he will oppose Kavanaugh because Senate Republicans will not ask for an FBI investigation into the allegations against Kavanaugh.

Donnelly joins Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., who announced that she would vote against Kavanaugh last week.

Donnelly is running for re-election in a state that Donald Trump won by 19 points in 2016. If Trump supporters are motivated to vote by the Supreme Court in the midterms, and polling suggests the election is trending that way, then count this seat as a pickup for Republicans come November.
