Blaze News original: How violent, bullying leftists behave after getting bruising justice — or when they don't get their way

Among the many stomach-turning traits of militant leftists like Antifa and their ilk is that they tend to be supremely entitled and pathologically incapable of empathy. There is no other "side," no other point of view, and nothing else to consider. Their radical leftism is the only game in town.

It's a dangerous point of view, mainly because it contributes to making their criminal behavior — which often involves physically harming those who stand up against them or who are just in their way in that moment — perfectly acceptable in their minds.

'You guys want to criminalize us with metal detectors? We'll see you at your house. We'll murder you.'

The fallout happens when such leftists receive bruising justice in return, whether the comeuppance goes down in the streets or in courtrooms — and yes, even during public meetings when they don't get their way.

Over and over again, we've seen these ingredients — entitlement, a gang mentality, a propensity for violence, and lack of empathy — get shaken together to create a volatile cocktail that, in the end, explodes in the face of the left.

The following are some of the more jaw-dropping lowlights.

Female Antifa ringleader found guilty of orchestrating riot; loyal comrade arrested outside courthouse after verdict — on assault charge

An Antifa ringleader based in Portland, Oregon, was found guilty Aug. 14 of felony riot, disorderly conduct in the second degree, and unlawful use of mace in the second degree in connection with 2021 riot in a park in neighboring Clackamas County.

Self-described independent journalist Alissa Eleanor Azar was front and center when Antifa disrupted a conservative voter registration drive in Clackamette Park in Oregon City. Video evidence showed Azar using bear mace against a woman, according to the Post Millennial. She pushed Antifa's action on social media, and Clackamas County Deputy District Attorney Josh Cutino said Antifa was looking for a fight.

An Oregon City cop testified that his team discovered homemade explosive devices and riot shields in the area where Antifa had gathered, prompting bomb squad involvement.

After the verdict was announced, the Post Millennial and the Federalist reported that another infamous Antifa militant, John Hacker, allegedly attacked a man outside the courthouse, causing the man to bleed from the face.

"I crossed the street, and John Hacker’s there, and I was like, 'I think I just saw you assault him,'" Clackamas County Commissioner Ben West told the Federalist. "John tries to evade, police end up arresting him."

West said the victim "was bleeding pretty profusely. He was dazed. I got him off the ground, sat him up, tried to provide some direct pressure. Then Antifa came out and were yelling threatening things to me and making threats to me and my person while I was giving my report to law enforcement."

Hacker was charged with assault, went to the Clackamas County Jail, and was denied bail.

Pro-Palestinian radical at city council meeting threatens to 'murder' city council members. As you might guess, it doesn't end well for the lass.

A pro-Palestinian activist during a Bakersfield, California, city council meeting threatened to "murder" city council members. As you might guess, the threat didn't end well for her.

Members of United Liberation Front, a group of pro-Palestinian radicals, had been attending the bi-weekly city council meetings. They demand the city adopt — or at least introduce — a resolution supporting a ceasefire in Gaza, and they often have become disruptive as the council thus far has refused to cooperate.

During the April 10 meeting, one ULF member — 28-year-old Riddhi Patel — impugned city leaders during two separate speeches. In her first speech, she said, "I hope one day somebody brings a guillotine and kills all of you motherf***ers," apparently spitting as she walked away from the podium. In her second speech, she said, "You guys want to criminalize us with metal detectors? We'll see you at your house. We'll murder you."

With that, Mayor Karen Goh announced that Patel made a "threat" and asked officers to "escort" her out.

You can view Patel in action during the city council meeting here. She speaks just after the 30-minute mark, and she speaks again just before the 47-minute mark; it was just after Patel's second set of remarks that she was arrested and charged with 16 felonies: eight counts of threatening with intent to terrorize and eight counts of threatening elected public officials. She ended up in custody on a bond of at least $1 million.

Days later in court, Patel was far from the firebrand she portrayed at the city council meeting; instead she was wearing a brown jail uniform and weeped uncontrollably. A judge ruled on Oct. 1 that her case would proceed.

Heavily armed leftists surround, threaten lone Portland motorist. But when fed-up driver points his own gun at them, all hell breaks loose.

Heavily armed leftists apparently acting as security for a march in Portland on May 5, 2021, pointed their guns at a lone motorist and threatened him before the fed-up driver exited his truck and pointed his own gun at them — and then all hell broke loose.

The large group of marching leftist militants reportedly gathered to remember Patrick Kimmons, a black man fatally shot by Portland police in 2018.

But a vehicle apparently leading the group came upon a pickup truck driver who was traveling toward the marchers, and the lead vehicle blocked the driver's path — and in seconds, numerous militants descended upon the pickup truck driver and began threatening him.

The thing is, though, the driver had a gun, too — and the heavily armed militants didn't like that one bit. "You better f***ing not!" one leftist was heard yelling at the driver. "Put your f***ing gun down!" The driver, standing behind his truck door, pointed at one particularly well-strapped leftist and twice yelled back, "You got about five seconds to lower that f***ing weapon!"

The lone driver — who faced about a half-dozen armed leftists in the standoff — jawed with the hostile group, calling them "c**ksuckers" and "f***in' idiots" and repeatedly ordering them to "shut up." One leftist told the driver that his "vehicle is a deadly weapon" — which didn't go over too well with the driver, who noted all the rifles pointed in his direction.

As the driver got back into this truck and began to move past the militants, one leftist called him a "f***ing Nazi" as others demanded he "get outta here!" Then just before he reached the intersection — apparently after one of the leftists hit or threw something at his truck — the driver stopped, got out, and confronted the group. The situation grew tense, with many people screaming, and the driver grabbed his gun and moved forward on one of the rifle-wielding leftists — who promptly shoved the driver backward.

With that, the driver regained his footing and drew his gun on the group, but he soon was tackled from behind, after which numerous militants piled on him. Then the driver was requesting an ambulance, asking for his gun back, and telling the leftists that he's a disabled Marine.

Cop drives motorcycle into left-wing protester blocking his path, pushing her up road and knocking her down — and her comrades lose their minds

A crowd of left-wing protesters tried having their way with a lone police officer on the night of Oct. 2, 2020, in Portland, Oregon — but he was having none of it.

The officer had pulled over two vehicles blocking traffic, police told the Oregonian. Video — which you can view here — shows protesters converging upon the scene. The lone, completely outnumbered officer then found himself facing down numerous protesters who inched their way toward him. "Back up!" he hollered repeatedly at them.

The driver of one of the vehicles he pulled over took off. But when the cop got on his motorcycle and prepared to pursue the driver, a couple of protesters stood in his way. One positioned herself directly in front of his motorcycle — her legs literally straddling the path of his front wheel. The officer was undeterred, however, and pushed the protester with his motorcycle up the road until she tumbled to the street, after which he sped away.

Right on cue, comrades of the knocked-down protester predictably flipped out and chased after the officer on foot while unleashing enraged howls.

More from the Oregonian:

Live videos from the scene showed officers approach the crowd to check if the person needed medical attention. An argument ensued, and at least one person was detained during the encounter.

Police said Saturday afternoon that the protester struck by the motorcycle was eventually taken to the hospital and later booked on charges of rioting, interfering with a peace officer and second-degree disorderly conduct. Police did not provide an update on the person's medical status. Police said they were booked into jail later than initially planned because someone had slashed the police vehicles' tires in the hospital parking lot.

Leftists who apparently see themselves as part of an army actually cry out, 'Medic! Medic!' as cops push them back following failed mission to topple Andrew Jackson statue

While National Park Police in Washington, D.C., lined up and pushed leftist protesters out of Lafayette Square Park on the evening of June 22, 2020 — following their failed attempt to pull down a statue of Andrew Jackson — one video caught a rather astonishing reaction from the vanquished demonstrators.

As if they see themselves as actual soldiers on the field of battle, a number of utterly defeated comrades were heard crying out, "Medic! Medic!" in the face of their bruised bodies and egos. Bless their hearts. Check out the video here.

Another clip showed the depressing aftermath as the limping army of history-erasers hacked up their lungs, tried to catch their collective breath, and licked their wounds. One person was heard loudly inquiring, "Anybody here need medical attention?"

Plug your ears! Leftist repeatedly screams in high-pitched fashion at San Francisco leaders during public meeting in protest of black trans fatal shooting

A left-wing activist screamed out her lungs for an extended period of time during public comment at a San Francisco Board of Supervisors meeting on May 2, 2023, in the wake of a controversial fatal shooting.

The black trans individual who was shot — 24-year-old Banko Brown — allegedly tried to steal from a local Walgreens around 6:30 p.m. April 27, 2023, and was shot by a security guard, Fox News reported, adding that Brown died at a hospital.

San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins days before the supervisors' meeting said her office wouldn't prosecute the guard, Michael-Earl Wayne Anthony, the cable network reported in a separate story.

During the pubic comment portion of the supervisors' meeting, a female speaker sporting a buzz cut and a black leather jacket said, "I don't have any words prepared today. I just want you to feel our pain. I don't know if you can at this point, based off your policy choices, but I have to pretend you have some form of empathy left. So I am going to spend the next minute screaming, 'cause that is what is going on in here. That is what the trans genocide in this country, in this city, has brought me to."

With that, she let out a lengthy, ear-piercing scream. Then she delivered another — and another. For variety, she added one more.

"Imagine that!" she yelled, before continuing her screaming. All told, she treated the room to 15 seconds' worth of high-volume bellowing. But she was far from done. Next came the high-pitched screaming sentences.

"I hate this! I hate what you've done to us! I hate what you're doing to us! I hate you, Board of Supervisors! I hate you, [Mayor] London Breed! I hate you, Jenkins!" she hollered in high-pitched fashion before letting out one final howling scream.

After dropping a couple of F-bombs, she also called the board members "cowards" and walked away. You can view the screaming speech here; it begins just after the 1-hour, 8-minute mark.

As readers of Blaze News likely know, Bay Area stores like Walgreens have been gutted by brazen shoplifters over the last several years and suffered as a result — it's a phenomenon rather common in large America cities nowadays.

Leftist students freak out, get arrested by campus cops after yet another MAGA hat reportedly is stolen

Remember when red "Make America Great Again" hats more or less became kryptonite to leftists and constantly seemed to lead to jaw-dropping episodes of Trump derangement syndrome?

Well, on May 2, 2019, a Texas State University student shot video of what he told Campus Reform occurred after another student stole his MAGA hat amid a heated political discussion on campus. The clip shows one student dropping and kicking the student's MAGA hat as campus police confront the female culprit.

While she's handcuffed, cops drop another student face down on the quad pavement as other students holler in protest and gather around the growing number of police. A third student begins screaming and crying hysterically, trying to get past officers: "Don't f***ing touch her!"

An apparent officer is heard speaking to the student whose MAGA hat was allegedly stolen, asking if he wants to press charges, and the student responds that he does and then is directed to follow the person.

As the pair of handcuffed students are led away, someone is heard off camera stating, "If that's not white privilege I don't know what the f*** is."

As police lead the arrested individuals through a building, the student who earlier was screaming and crying hysterically upped things quite a bit, getting in the MAGA-hat student's face and bellowing, "Get out! Why are you here?! Why are you here?! Leave!" Someone is then heard telling the MAGA-hat student, "You're escalating the situation. Get the f*** out."

Then inside the campus police station, yet another leftist student wearing a bandana over her face tried to get past police to one of the arrested students and actually appeared to bump chests with a cop. She was immediately turned against a wall and handcuffed as she yelled, "Don't f***ing touch me! What crime are you suspecting me of committing?! Articulate it! Articulate it!"

You can view video of the whole sorry scene right here.

Blaze News previously noted numerous instances during which anti-Trump folks have flipped out at MAGA-hat wearers, taken off or knocked the cap off their heads, or actually stolen them as video recorded the whole thing.

AOC condemns calling cops over 'nonviolent demonstrations of young students.' Observers hit back with the facts.

Far-left U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) not surprisingly appears to be fully backing the Hamas-loving, Israel-hating demonstrations that have been springing up with greater frequency on college campuses in the last couple of weeks.

In an X post Tuesday night, Ocasio-Cortez condemned calling police on what she deemed "nonviolent demonstrations of young students."

— (@)

"Calling in police enforcement on nonviolent demonstrations of young students on campus is an escalatory, reckless, and dangerous act," she wrote. "It represents a heinous failure of leadership that puts people’s lives at risk. I condemn it in the strongest possible terms."

Surely, AOC realizes not all the protesters are "nonviolent," right? To wit:

 • Students took over a building at California State Polytechnic University in Humboldt, forcing the school to close temporarily as a safety precaution. Andy Ngo reported that the occupiers turned to "beat[ing] and assault[ing]" cops who were trying to remove them.
 • A male pro-Palestinian protester stabbed a female Jewish student in the eye amid Yale University demonstrations over the weekend.
 • Rabbi Elie Buechler of the Columbia University/Barnard College Hillel on Sunday told Jewish students that police "cannot guarantee [their] safety in the face of extreme antisemitism and anarchy." Buechler also advised Jewish students to "return home as soon as possible and remain home until the reality in and around campus has dramatically improved. It is not our job as Jews to ensure our own safety on campus.” The school soon switched to remote-option learning for safety reasons for the rest of the semester.
 • Some Columbia protesters reportedly were cited for resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer. Not that it matters — as AOC would be glad to know — since none of the 228 Columbia and NYU demonstrators reportedly received charges that will go on their records.

Many of those responding to Ocasio-Cortez saw right through her rhetoric, too. Some prominent examples:

 • Conservative commentator Jason Rantz told AOC, "Something tells me if people illegally camped on your property — while supporting terrorists (whomever you think are terrorists since you don’t feel that way about Hamas) — you’d call the cops. Sorry that your fellow Jew-haters don’t get to break the law."
 • International human rights lawyer Arsen Ostrovsky added to the congresswoman, "They are explicitly inciting violence, engaging in racial hatred and impeding students and faculty for learning and teaching. The only ‘heinous failure in leadership’ is your justification of this behavior."
 • Journalist Kyle Becker noted to AOC that "radical Marxists don't have a right to disrupt entire communities to throw their temper tantrums."

Video: Former VP Mike Pence expertly trolls left-wing Georgetown students protesting his speech — and non-woke students love it

Former Vice President Mike Pence delivered a gut-punch dose of truth to left-wing Georgetown University students protesting his speech on the Washington, D.C., campus Wednesday night — and non-woke students in the crowd loved every word.

What happened?

Video from Young America’s Foundation — the conservative group that hosted Pence's speech — shows dozens of students walking out of the room while Pence speaks and other students in the venue's balcony unfurling a banner reading "reproductive rights are human rights," Fox News reported.

Pence had the perfect response to the walkout: "Seems to me that having served many years in Washington, leaders in this nation’s capital have never been more out of touch, more intent on imposing their agenda — or walking out on people that might have a different point of view."

The crowd that remained in the venue clapped and cheered upon hearing that final zinger:

Better still, the walkout was a double win. YAF told Fox News the departing left-wing crowd made room for students who actually wanted to listen to Pence.

"Campus leftists thought they could successfully derail Vice President Mike Pence’s YAF-sponsored lecture by walking out and displaying signs promoting the left’s radical agenda," YAF spokesperson Nick Baker told the cable network. "Within minutes, they were proven wrong. YAF easily filled the room to capacity with students legitimately interested in hearing Vice President Pence’s pro-freedom message."

Fox News said a Pence representative didn't immediately respond to the cable network's request for comment. Pence did, however, give a shout-out to attendees in a Wednesday-night tweet:

“Thank you @yaf and @GUPolitics! It was great to be at Georgetown tonight with so many great young Americans! 🇺🇸”
— Mike Pence (@Mike Pence) 1666232465

"Thank you @yaf and @GUPolitics!" he wrote. "It was great to be at Georgetown tonight with so many great young Americans!"

Anything else?

In his speech, Pence emphasized tolerance and called for the restoration of civil discourse, Fox News said.

"I really do believe you can say to somebody they’ve got bad ideas without saying they’re a bad person," Pence told the audience, according to the cable network. "I hold the view and have for many years that democracy depends on heavy doses of civility."

Pence — who many believe is considering a 2024 presidential run — was cagey when asked during a post-speech interview whether he'd support Donald Trump as president again in 2024, Fox News reported.

"Well, there might be somebody else I prefer more," he said with a smirk, according to the cable network.

"All my focus has been on the midterm elections, and it’ll stay that way for the next 20 days. But after that, we’ll be thinking about the future," Pence added, Fox News said. "Ours and the nation's. And I'll keep you posted. OK?"

Is classic 'Frosty the Snowman' song now 'offensive' in our woke, gender-inclusive world? College students weigh in

It seems that with each succeeding Christmas season for the last decade or so, hostility toward the holiday and questioning of traditions have hit the headlines in one way or another, so Campus Reform correspondent Logan Dubil got proactive and asked students at the University of Pittsburgh recently if the classic song "Frosty the Snowman" is "offensive" in today's woke landscape.

And what could possibly be the issue with Frosty?

Well, the song's main character is male, for starters — and "fails to be gender inclusive," Dubil told students. No hint that Frosty's creators took the time to consider if their character might favor non-traditional pronouns or identify as female or non-binary or gender non-conforming, he added.

What did students have to say?

Dubil presented the issue to students to see if they agreed Frosty is offensive, and some of them did just that.

"I hadn’t thought of that, but I definitely do agree,” one student told Dubil.

Others added that landing on a specific gender for Frosty is problematic because it "can definitely exclude people" and "doesn't leave the option open" for other gender expressions.

But a few students saw silliness in the issue.

One replied, "I don't know. When you go outside in winter, you don't build snow-women. It's just, it's tradition; a snowman, so I feel like, just keeping with tradition."

Although another student in the same Q&A said presenting Frosty as exclusively male is "kind of messed up now that I think about it."

And both students agreed that Frosty was "absolutely not gender inclusive."

In a different interview, a student didn't seem concerned about Frosty's potential offensiveness because "it's like, it's a snowman; it doesn't have any type of genitalia at all."

Others saw wisdom in the laid-back approach, with one saying "I'm just enjoying the song for what it is."

Another noted that the seasonal TV special featuring the classic song is "just a fun kids' show, and it should stay that way."

But a different student said he "can see how people might be offended by a snowman not being too inclusive, but personally it's not a very big issue in my mind."

One of the best answers? "You'd have to ask Frosty."

Student at far-left college mocked for being 'angry, scared' that 'cisgender' men installed radiators in 'safe space' dorm for women, trans residents

A student at far-left Oberlin College in Ohio is being mercilessly mocked for penning an op-ed in the school newspaper complaining of being "angry" and "scared" that "cisgender" men installed radiators in the author's "safe space" dorm designated for women and transgender students.

What are the details?

The op-ed's author — Peter Fray-Witzer — wrote that the radiator work was being done in Baldwin Cottage, which the school's website says is "the home of the Women and Trans* Collective, a close-knit community that provides women and transgendered persons with a safe space for discussion, communal living, and personal development. It has a capacity for 30 residents, and is open to anyone who identifies as female or trans, regardless of race, nationality, religion, assigned sex, or sexual orientation."

Fray-Witzer wrote, "In general, I am very averse to people entering my personal space. This anxiety was compounded by the fact that the crew would be strangers, and they were more than likely to be cisgender men."

The author added that when work began in common areas, "I could see immediately that they were all men."

More from the op-ed:

I was angry, scared, and confused. Why didn't the College complete the installation over the summer, when the building was empty? Why couldn't they tell us precisely when the workers would be there? Why were they only notifying us the day before the installation was due to begin?I felt mildly violated and a little peeved. [...]

I couldn't help but think that, though there were other dorms affected by the installation, Baldwin Cottage was one of the worst places for it to occur. There are myriad reasons to want to be housed in Baldwin Cottage, but many people — myself included — choose to live there for an added degree of privacy and a feeling of safety and protection. A significant portion of students choose to live in Baldwin because they are victims of sexual assault or abuse, have suffered past invasions of privacy, or have some other reason to fear cisgender men. [...]

They should have taken measures to keep students comfortable and safe — especially those who have elected to live in a specifically designated safe space.

Given Fray-Witzer's first name — Peter — and the fact that Baldwin Cottage is for women and trans students, it isn't clear why Fray-Witzer is allowed to live there. The author doesn't elaborate in the op-ed or offer personal pronouns.

How did commenters on the op-ed respond?

Fray-Witzer's op-ed has since gone viral, but not in a very positive way. The author is getting mocked — even in the comments connected to the op-ed. Here are some responses:

 • "I read this and all I see is a bigot playing victim," one commenter wrote. "We seriously need to stop entertaining nonsense like this."
 • "Please let this be a joke!" another commenter declared. "Please!"
 • "I'm surprised that the writer of this essay didn't tell us his/her/their pronouns," another commenter observed. "This is exactly the kind of newspaper where such information would be expected to appear."
 • "I'm so sorry that the students whose families can afford to send them to an $80k/year tuition college like Oberlin are so oppressed by the $15/hour maintenance men who just happen to be male and heterosexual," another commenter noted. "The nerve of those privileged monsters to step into your dorm to make sure the radiators work and to unstop the toilets. When will the class intimidation of the blue collar privileged over the oppressed rich and woke ever end?!"

Anything else?

Fox News said Oberlin's press office did not immediately respond to its request for comment on the matter.

Leftist college students: 9/11 history lessons shouldn't mention terror attacks' 'roots in Islam'; instead teachers should 'focus on America's faults'

Leftist college students at the University of Florida surprised absolutely no one when Campus Reform interviewed them recently about how the world-changing terror attacks against the United States on Sept. 11, 2001, should be taught in the classroom.

In short: Don't focus on who carried out the carnage — and criticize America instead.

What are the details?

One student said some of the more "gruesome" facts about the 9/11 attacks should be kept out of lesson plans.

Another said teachers should "avoid talking about its roots in Islam" since the 9/11 attackers were part of an "extremist group" of Muslims.

One guy — who may have been vying for neo-hippie of the year — offered that 9/11 should be "taught in way that doesn't really target, like, more like, who did it, but, like, more like, how we can, like, move forward and, like, different, like, healing processes that we can go through to, like, to make everything, like, you know, good again."

Or something.

Another student agreed, saying teachers should "avoid placing blame," since such an action might lead to "Islamophobia" and — gasp! — discussions about "American exceptionalism."

As it turns out, American exceptionalism was a big trigger point for the students when it comes to 9/11 education.

"We don't need more nationalism in this country ... we need more, like, healthcare," one student noted. "I think they should focus on America's faults, not like how amazing we are and how we need to be superior, 'cause we're not."

One student added that "I definitely don't agree that America is the best country on the earth; I think that we still need a lot of, like, fixing."

Another student declared flat-out that "I don't think we should be talking about the greatness of the country" while another pointed out the "colonist and imperialist notions" behind such an idea.

Yet another student said American exceptionalism is "a dangerous mindset to teach young people ... because I think that's the reason why a lot of people grow up to be kind of extremists and, like, really nationalistic."

College students say American flag symbolizes 'genocide,' 'extremism,' 'injustice,' and 'sins we've committed against others'

Just prior to Flag Day on Monday, Campus Reform reporter Ophelie Jacobson visited the University of Texas at Dallas to chat with students about what they believe the American flag symbolizes.

And not only did they not know much if anything about Flag Day, most of the interviewees didn't have a very high opinion about Old Glory.

What are the details?

When Jacobson asked one student what things come to mind when he sees an American flag, he offered a doozie of a response: "A lot of things come to mind. First of all, war. Second of all ... we've also taken a bit of land from Native Americans, so that's unfortunate, too. And it's just really terrible that we've done all these things, and this flag kind of reminds me of that — of all the sins we've committed against others."

She then asked if he agreed with other students who say the flag symbolizes oppression, racism, and genocide, and he replied, "Yes, wholeheartedly. We've done so much under that banner ... and the whole patriotism thing just sweeps all that narrative of racism, oppression, and the like under the rug."

A female student couldn't have been more simpatico.

"I guess I don't look at [the American flag] positively ... I do look at it negatively," she said, adding that "I don't agree with [what] this country was found upon completely ... a lot of injustice ... a lot of genocide. I see a lot American flags on church grounds, which i find very ... like, not trustworthy 'cuz I don't like the idea of tying in politics with religion, which is what this country does, even still today."

A different male student said that "absolute love of the American flag ... is very obviously correlated to, like, extremism ... nationalism."

Another female student said she's "definitely seen the American flag used as a racist symbol ... you see people show up to, like, [former President Donald] Trump rallies with their flags, waving it, screaming in people's faces. Well, then, yes ... it makes it obvious what it means to them."

Anything else?

Not surprisingly, some students mistook Flag Day (June 14) for Juneteenth (June 19).

In addition, when asked if Flag Day should be celebrated, the first male student had a terse reply: "F*** no."

And the female student who disagreed with American flags on church grounds said that while people should celebrate Flag Day if they choose to, she "personally wouldn't because I don't entirely love this place as much as some people do."

Baylor University students want statue of school's namesake — Judge J.E.B. Baylor — removed from campus because he owned slaves

A group of students from Baylor University want the statue of Judge J.E.B. Baylor — the man the school is named after — removed from campus because he owned slaves and supported the Confederacy, the Baylor Lariat reported.

What are the details?

Student Sam Onilenla told the campus newspaper that he and other students — who gathered at the statue earlier this month dressed in black and holding Black Lives Matter signs — are trying to pressure the board of regents to remove Baylor's statue.

Onilenla added to the Lariat that "integration didn't happen until 1963, so you have 118 years where there's no black people on this campus," and he doesn't want to see the statue on campus "because I know I'm not supposed to be here, according to him. Having him off campus is going to be the start of racial healing."

"Once we remove that from campus, then we can start removing … the rest of the stuff off the campus that makes us feel uncomfortable," Onilenla noted to the publication.

He also told the Lariat that the school — as a Christian college — shouldn't have Baylor's statue on campus, particularly because he was "a slave owner" and "a Confederacy supporter."

"There's nothing religious about killing slaves or having those ideas," Onilenla told the paper.

Fueling the fire

An incident on campus fueled the students' emotions, as a security guard confronted a group of black freshmen in the library over a noise complaint and told the group, 'This is not a basketball arena. This is a study area." The security guard called for backup and left the area when other students approached him, the Lariat added in a separate story.

Now what?

The Baylor Board of Regents, the school's official governing body, met Wednesday through Friday and will review a report and hear presentations by the Commission on Historic Campus Representations, which was appointed last year to determine if any "statues, buildings, or other tangible tributes on the Waco campus reflect a racist past," Campus Reform said.

The outlet said the commission likely will decide the fate of Baylor's statue.

VIDEO: As Valentine's Day nears, left-wing female college students reject dating profiles of guys showing love for Trump, guns, GOP

Young love in the time of cultural polarization means, for some students apparently, that looks don't matter much at all if a potential date doesn't share your political values.

Campus Reform conducted an experiment recently during a visit to the University of Florida and showed students fake Tinder profiles that included political descriptions — and then asked the students whether they'd be interested in dating those shown.

What was the result?

The result? The female students interviewed — all apparently left-wing politically — unilaterally rejected profiles that indicated support for former President Donald Trump, love for guns, or conservative and Christian values.

For example, one female student said that while the guy donning a suit in one profile is "cute," she'd swipe left because his description indicates he's a "Trump supporter" — and that "Trump is gross."

"He's cute, but I'd probably swipe left because, I mean, If you're going to put 'Trump supporter' in your thing, that's a little bit too much for me," the student declared.

It was more of the same for the unlucky fictitious fellow: "Left," another female quickly decided. "'Trump supporter' took me out."

Yet another said "no" because being a Trump supporter is a "definite deal breaker."

But when shown profiles of fellow left-wing guys, their tunes all changed.

For one profile of a potential date who is "super into protecting the environment," a fellow left-wing female was into it, noting that she's a "sustainability minor" at the school. Another woman said she'd also swipe right for him since she believes climate change is big problem.

And when the women were shown a profile of a left-wing guy whose face was obscured by a mask, it didn't seem to matter — they dug the "Black Lives Matter" sign next to him in the photo.

"We share the same values," one woman said enthusiastically.

"Definitely right," another female student said, adding that "this is exactly like, what I would be attracted to."

But wait!

Campus Reform didn't interview women only. Next up were the fellas. And as a whole they were less staunch when it came to profiles of women whose politics may differ from theirs — and they didn't do as much revealing of their specific values, either.

So does this unscientific sample indicate anything significant? We'll leave that for you to decide.

Cops called to campus dorm — for drawing of penis on dry-erase board. Police take no action, but it's reported to Bias Response Team.

It was quite the scene at the Wells House residence hall on the campus of Missouri State University, the College Fix reported.

Officers from the Springfield Police Department were called, and they — along with campus officials and resident assistants — met in the dorm lobby before they were escorted to the fourth floor, the outlet said, citing a report filed by Campus Safety Officer John Matthews.

And what did they encounter when they entered the hallway? An all-out brawl? Drunken students? Drugs?

No, nothing that mundane. Instead the intervening party were in for an eyeful of something truly unique: A drawing of a penis on a dry-erase board on a student's door — along with the words "You're a dick" next to the drawing, the Fix said.

What are the details?

The resident assistant who found the drawing told police she "did not have any information about who might have made the drawing or when it was done," the outlet noted, adding that the RA also told cops that she was unaware of "any problems on her floor that might be related."

After officials were through scraping their shocked bodies off the floor and administering smelling salts to each other, a decision was made.

The Fix said police "took no further action," according to the report.

But alas, the outlet added that the incident was reported to the Missouri State Bias Response Team — and the school encourages students and faculty to notify the BRT when bias arises. Turns out the penis-drawn-on-dry-erase-board fracas was one of 28 incidents filed that year with the school's Bias Response Team, the Fix said.

The outlet said it obtained copies of the reports through an open records law request, and many student names are redacted in the reports to protect their identities.

According to the Missouri State BRT website, a campus community member accused of bias may be subject to "voluntary interventions" that may include "a variety of activities including discussion, mediation, training, counseling and consensus building," the Fix said.

Other bias incidents

The Wells House dorm apparently was a popular spot for other bias incidents.

 • A resident assistant found two female students writing, "Hi my name is Slim Shady! or Nazi Baby" on the whiteboard outside another female student's door, the outlet said. When asked to explain themselves, the students said "Nazi Baby" was an affectionate nickname they had given the other student because of her blonde hair and blue eyes, the Fix added. But still police were called at 11:22 p.m., and an officer arrived a half hour later to look at the whiteboard message, the outlet said. The officer "stated that no report would be written due to there not being any malicious intent perceived in the comment," the Fix said.
 • University Safety was called over a whiteboard message that read, "Hi! Shabbat Shalom! Allahu Akbar," the outlet noted. The area safety coordinator knocked on the door several times but did not detect any movement inside the room, the Fix said, adding that RAs debated about calling police. Campus safety was notified and recommended not calling police, the outlet said, adding that clearance was then given to erase the whiteboard.

Oh, and a faculty member riding the Bear Line shuttle overheard on the bus radio that "a little oriental girl is waiting" at a stop, the Fix said, adding that the bias complaint said the voice sounded like it was from an "older male" radioing in from another bus. "His tone wasn't mean spirited, and I don't think he meant anything negative by it, but training on current, respectful vs. outdated, inappropriate language seems needed," the complaint read, according to the outlet.
