Israel’s Moment of Peril—and Promise

Israel is in peril. The Islamic Republic of Iran and its proxies have sworn to destroy the Jewish state, and the horrors of October 7 prove that Tehran intends to make good on its promises. Yet Israel also enjoys improved relations with many of its Arab neighbors, notably in the Gulf. In his new book, Hope and Despair: Israel’s Future in the New Middle East, Michael Horowitz explores this dichotomy.

Palestinian Authority, Key to Biden’s Mideast Peace Plan, Commits To Pay $97M a Year to Hamas

As President Joe Biden pushes to empower the Palestinian Authority in the name of Middle East peace, the PA has committed tens of millions of dollars in reward money to terrorists who were killed or captured while carrying out the Oct. 7 terror attack on Israel and the resulting war.

It does not matter if Biden has previously acknowledged the attacks as terrorism -- he does not believe Israel has a right to defend itself.

Levin: Hamas leader Abbas runs the PLO like a mobster

The four top leaders of Hamas are worth one billion dollars, but you can’t tell just by looking at the people they claim to represent.

“They want their people poor. That’s how they get rich,” Mark Levin explains, noting that while the U.N., the EU, and the U.S. pour a fortune into building up Gaza — all that money goes into the pockets of these terrorists.

“It never gets to the schools, it never gets to the hospitals, it never gets to the infrastructure,” Levin says.

Gaza is located on the Mediterranean, which, according to Levin, means that it “could be a beautiful paradise” with a “bustling economy.”

“But that’s not what they’re looking for, those four billionaires. It’s a caliphate. And whether it is Islamo-Nazis or whether it is Marxists, they’re always incredibly rich,” Levin explains.

Meanwhile, Hamas’ leader, Mahmoud Abbas, runs the Palestinian Authority territories like a mobster.

He puts family and friends in charge of different parts of the economy, and they are all rich.

“All these other people are deadly poor. They use them as fodder, they use them as terrorists, and so forth,” Levin says.

Most Palestinians are aware of what’s going on, but speaking out is a death sentence.

“It’s a rare voice that can be heard, and we found one,” Levin shares.

The voice is that of a senior Hamas commander, who told the U.K.’s Daily Mail that Hamas leaders Ismail Haniyeh and Yahya Sinwar “destroyed” the bottom level of the terrorist movement when they ordered the October 7 attack.

The commander also complained that while these leaders live in splendor abroad, he’s sustaining himself on olive oil and dates.

It could be a lot worse for the commander, as Levin notes that Israel “could blow Gaza off the face of the earth today.”
