Jim Acosta gets ruthlessly ridiculed over his defense of the media: 'We are the defenders of the people'

CNN anchor Jim Acosta was ridiculed on Thursday for trying to defend the media in a video he posted on Thursday.

Acosta rejected the characterization made by President-elect Donald Trump that the media was the "enemy of the people" just days before Trump will take office again.

'Your network spreads those lies. Your industry profits off those lies.'

"I want to take a moment to talk about something President Biden said during his farewell address," said Acosta.

"He warned the free press is crumbling in this country. I would add that's only if we the people let that happen. Journalists exist to seek the truth, to tell people's stories, to lift up voices that may not be heard otherwise. To shine a light on injustice and to hold the powerful accountable," he continued.

"We are not the enemy of the people, we are the defenders of the people," he claimed.

Many on social media excoriated Acosta for trying to claim the high-minded principles of journalism after so many examples of media malfeasance, incompetence, and bias.

"But the American press is not free. It is captured by its biases and bigotries against conservatives and its refusal to hold itself accountable for covering up the mental decline of the President of the United States," replied talk show host Erick Erickson.

"Jimmy, you're a liar. Your network spreads those lies. Your industry profits off those lies. You are the enemy of the people and I cannot wait until you are sued into bankruptcy for all the lies you spread," responded novelist Jacob Airey.

"Free press isn’t crumbling. Networks that employ partisan paid actors to spew narratives are dying. Look in the mirror sport," read one popular response.

"Just start delivering the news rather than your politics, Jim, and you'll be fine. But ... can you do that?" said another critic.

"You speaking about the free press while embracing the Left's censorship over the last few years is peak irony," responded another detractor.

Acosta has been lambasted many times by critics on social media over the bias in mainstream media.

Pete Hegseth vs. the swamp — 3-part character assassination EXPLAINED

Like clockwork, every time Trump taps another person for his administration, the media releases a long list of allegations attached to that nominee in an attempt to discredit him from the position he's been nominated for. The smear campaign against Matt Gaetz was enough for him to withdraw his name. And now DOD nominee Pete Hegseth is having his name drug through the mud relentlessly.

“Pete Hegseth is a disruptor, and because he's a disruptor and threatens to disrupt the military industrial complex itself, Pete has come under horrendous attack,” says Liz Wheeler, noting that these attacks are not related to “the policies that he wants to implement at the Department of Defense,” nor are they related to “his political positions.”

These are “character assassinations and reputation smears,” says Liz.

The media has even gone as far as involving Hegseth’s own mother in its mission to besmirch his name. Recently, the New York Times published a hit piece featuring an email Pete received from his mother, Penelope, in which she condemned his promiscuity.

“This was years ago during a nasty divorce that Pete was going through, and his mother sent him an email telling him to stop sleeping around. She said, ‘You're being nasty to women, and I'm not proud of that kind of behavior in my son,”’ Liz recounts, adding that Hegseth’s mother has since had to do damage control in an effort to clear her son’s name.

How the news outlet got its hands on this correspondence is suspicious in and of itself.

But beyond that, the fact of the matter is, Pete Hegseth’s romantic past, however immoral it might be, does not impact his ability to do the job.

“I don't agree with Pete sleeping around. I think a lot of people probably don't,” says Liz. “Will that impact his ability to do his job at the Department of Defense? Absolutely not.”

Perhaps the media knows, however, that past promiscuity isn’t sufficient to sully his name because now it’s developed a new attack angle.

“The newest line of attack against Pete Hegseth is that he would come to work at Fox drunk,” says Liz, calling the allegation an “elementary character assassination,” especially considering it’s based on “10 anonymous sources,” who “refused to go on the record” with their accusations.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) stated that the allegations against Pete Hegseth are “very disturbing” and that Senate confirmation is “going to be difficult.”

“Do you think Lindsey Graham is actually disturbed by these allegations, or is Lindsey Graham disturbed by the fact that Pete Hegseth thinks that we should end the wars that Lindsey Graham profits off of?” asks Liz. “Lindsey Graham never met a war he didn’t like.”

However, there’s been a third attack on Pete Hegseth.

“There's been a report that President Trump is considering dropping Pete Hegseth and replacing him with Ron DeSantis,” says Liz.

However, when CEO and co-founder of the Federalist Sean Davis spoke with sources from the Trump transition team about these rumors, he was told that the entire story is “absolute nonsense.”

“There's a report (call it a rumor if you want) that these kinds of stories are being planted by RINO senators” — “neocons,” like Joni Ernst, who “wants to be the Secretary of Defense herself,” says Liz.

“I have a message today for the despicable, lying sycophants who are throwing these fake hatchets at Pete Hegseth and Kash Patel, too: You have no idea the sleeping giant that you have awakened when you weaponized government to target us. ... If you think that we're going to roll over, just let you torpedo Trump's nominees with unsubstantiated, anonymous fake news and slimy character assassinations, you're utterly delusional. We were born for this fight,” says Liz.

CBS caught EDITING Kamala’s ‘60 Minutes’ answer about Israel

If you need any more evidence that the media is owned by the Democrat Party, look no further than what CBS just did to Kamala Harris’ answer about Israel in her recent interview with Bill Whitaker of “60 Minutes.”

Dave Rubin plays the original answer Harris gave followed by the edited answer, and they couldn’t be more opposite.

“This is wild,” he says.

The statement Whitaker posed was: “It seems that Prime Minister Netanyahu is not listening.”

In her original, unedited response, Harris said the following: “The work that we have done has resulted in a number of movements in that region by Israel that were very much prompted by or a result of many things, including our advocacy for what needs to happen in the region.”

A “completely nonsensical, ridiculous answer,” says Dave.

Now compare that to CBS’ version of the clip.

To Whitaker’s statement about Netanyahu not listening, Harris said, “We are not going to stop pursuing what is necessary for the United States to be clear about where we stand on the need for this war to end.”

It’s clear that editors did away with Harris' word salad and replaced it with “this very direct response” to make her look better.

"[CBS is] in service to the Democrat Party,” sighs Dave. “Bill Whitaker, who did a really fine job there, he should be seriously pissed, because he did ask good questions.”

MSNBC lies: Clip of Joe Rogan edited to praise Kamala Harris — but he wasn’t

If you need more evidence that the mainstream media is not your friend, look no further than the stunt MSNBC just tried to pull on Joe Rogan.

The major news network deceptively edited a clip of Rogan to make it seem as though he was praising Kamala Harris, when he really was praising Tulsi Gabbard — and he’s understandably pissed.

“This is what MSNBC did,” Rogan told Andrew Huberman on an episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience.” “They took a clip of me talking about Tulsi Gabbard, and they edited it up and made it look like I was saying great things about Kamala Harris.”

“They just deceptively edited the things that I was saying, took it completely out of context,” Rogan continued. “First of all, I was talking about Tulsi Gabbard, and then I was talking about the media behind Kamala Harris, all this surge, and all these people just deciding that she’s good, she could win, and they put the two of those together and made it seem like I was praising Kamala Harris.”

Rogan had been discussing Gabbard’s accomplishments, like being a congresswoman for eight years and her two overseas deployments in medical units helping injured soldiers.

“They don’t care about the truth. They just want a narrative to get out there amongst enough people, ‘cause most people are just surface readers,” Rogan explained.

Dave Rubin of “The Rubin Report” isn’t surprised.

“Evil, that’s the word, and you got to admire what they do,” Rubin tells Sage Steele. “Do they think they’re going to get away with it?”

“But the answer I guess ultimately is yes, because they keep doing it, and they still get a certain amount of people to follow,” he continues. “Maybe their whole game is like ‘Oh, Rogan’s going to call on us, more people are going to watch our show. That’s just the nature of the clickbait evil.”

Did CNN just admit Kamala Harris flip-flopped on a number of issues?

In a rare moment, CNN, one of the most liberal, propaganda-driven news outlets, acknowledged that Kamala Harris has reversed course on several different issues, including defunding the police, illegal border crossings, Medicare, and drilling for oil.

Dave Rubin plays the clip of Dana Bash asking California’s newest senator, Laphonza Butler, about how voters should respond to Harris’ flip-flopping.

- YouTubewww.youtube.com

“In the 2020 primary, the vice president praised the defund-the-police movement; now she says she doesn’t support defunding the police. She called for decriminalizing crossing the border illegally; now she supports President Biden’s policies for clamping down at the border. She supported Medicare for all at one point, eliminating private insurance, and her campaign says she doesn’t support that now. She’s reversed herself on a fracking ban,” Bash laid out.

“What do you think that voters should think when she’s reversed herself on several issues just in the last four years?” she asked Butler.

Butler’s response was typical.

“I think that voters should think that she's a human being who learns new things every single day and has the ability to take the time and effort to hear the concerns of all people. I think that they should be certain that she is a fighter and a leader who’s going to do the work on their behalf to ensure that there is an economy that ensures that no one is left behind … that we’re going to continue to address the climate crisis in a way that ensures that there is an earth here for young people and for next generations of leaders. I think that they should absolutely believe that she is a leader who cares about people and who’s going to put them first, as she has done her entire career,” Butler said.

Liberal media BLAMES Trump for the assassination attempt ... on Trump

Former President Donald Trump may have narrowly survived an assassination attempt, but the mainstream media hasn’t wasted any time blaming him for it.

“‘Donald Trump contributed to the environment,’ says George Stephanopoulos and this hideous Martha Raddatz,” Mark Levin comments, adding, “They will hang on every syllable that comes out of Donald Trump’s mouth looking for anything they can hang on to.”

And that's exactly what they've done.

“As you point out ... President Trump and his supporters have contributed to this violent rhetoric as well,” Stephanopoulos said to his co-host the day after the assassination attempt.

“Trump in January warned of bedlam in the country if the criminal charges against him succeeded. And of course, in March he said, ‘Now, if I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath for the whole — that’s going to be the least of it, it’s going to be a bloodbath for the country,’” Raddatz added, leaving out the fact that Trump had been discussing the auto industry.

It's unsurprisingly the same thing the Democrats have done with January 6, despite Trump specifically telling his supporters to be peaceful.

“He specifically told them ‘yes,’ but protest peacefully — which they always cut out because it destroys their narrative,” Levin says, noting that the amount of times Trump has been called Hitler because of it is off the charts.

Trump had also offered 10,000 armed National Guardsmen to protect the Capitol building on January 6, but the offer was rejected by the Democrats.

“They keep trying to lie about that and punch holes in that because it gives the lie to their propaganda about January 6th and Donald Trump’s so-called role,” Levin says.

“And even when Biden gave that pathetic speech in which he didn’t apologize and took responsibility for nothing when he’s the leader of the pack, the examples that were given, he didn’t give examples about the violence in the streets the last ten months with the Islamists and the Marxists,” he continues.

“The Democrat Party has a hugely violent past, from slavery and the confederacy forward. He’s the head of the Democrat Party. He could have tamped this down a long time ago,” he adds.

New York Times hit with online backlash over 'blatant media bias' in describing Republican candidate

The New York Times was hit with online backlash over what many saw as "blatant media bias" in its description of the Republican candidate in the Wisconsin Senate race.

The Times was reporting on the debate Thursday between Republican Senator Ron Johnson, the incumbent, and Democrat candidate Mandela Barnes for Wisconsin's seat in the U.S. Senate.

\u201cAfter a respectful first debate, Senator Ron Johnson and Lt. Gov Mandela Barnes of Wisconsin will debate again tonight at 7 p.m. ET. This time, the candidates will be allowed to offer rebuttals, which may result in a more lively hour. https://t.co/AtiOWnd87M\u201d
— The New York Times (@The New York Times) 1665696006

The tweet described Johnson as a "leading peddler of misinformation" while describing Barnes as a "liberal Democrat who has been touted as one of the party's rising stars."

Critics of the news outlet excoriated its blatant bias on social media.

"I’m sensing a mild leaning towards one of the candidates over the other. It’s subtle, but if you look closely, I think you’ll be able to see what I found," read a very popular tweet.

"Not even making a show of pretense anymore," replied Jon Levine of the New York Post.

"This has to be one of the most jaw dropping examples of blatant media bias in existence," read another tweet.

"NYT at least isn’t trying to hide its extreme partisanship, bias and electioneering," read another response.

"It's subtle, but if you really look closely, you can detect ways in which the media inserts its bias," joked one commenter.

"Ron Johnson, a big smelly buttface, will debate Mandela Barnes, awesome person and rising Democratic star, a Black man and descendant of slaves, for the Wisconsin Senate seat, where Jacob Blake was brutally shot in the back," quipped another critic.

In the most recent polling, Johnson has a hefty lead over Barnes, ranking 52% to 46% among likely voters. While most experts believe Republicans will win enough seats in the midterms to seize control of the House of Representatives, the U.S. Senate will stay under Democratic control if Republicans are unable to move the needle on close Senate elections.
