Corporate Media Take Vow Of Silence On Biden 25th Amendment Talk
It’s amazing to think how radio silent the accomplice media have been on the subject of the 25th Amendment over the past few years.
Actress Fran Drescher wants to leverage the influence and monetary investment of movie productions to encourage states to push toward "diversity" and "inclusion," as well push green energy initiatives.
As reported by NewsBusters' Stephanie Hamill, while speaking at the The 29th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, Drescher took significant time on stage to talk about how movie studios can use financial influence on state legislators during an awards ceremony that was almost entirely void of political activism.
While most viewers were enjoying the sight of actress Jessica Chastain almost falling on stage or the exuberance of actor Brendan Fraser, Drescher spoke about activism from Hollywood's unions and the NFL.
"SAG-AFTRA and the NFLPA together forged Actors & Athletes for Democracy. We are the greatest influencers on the planet and must promote freedom for all," Drescher began.
"Our industry brings billions of production dollars to states across the nation, but if they want our business, let’s wield our financial influence to make governors act in the best interest of freedom, diversity, inclusion, and democracy. As my character Bobbi Flekman said in 'This Is Spinal Tap,' 'Money talks & bulls**t walks!'"

Drescher is the president of the the Screen Actors Guild - American Federation of Television and Radio Artists union, named in early 2022. The labor union represents approximately 160,000 professionals.
Drescher took more time to promote her Green Council initiative, which Deadline referred to as "an initiative she has been leading to encourage more environmentally-friendly practices in the industry," in 2022.
The actress pointed towards a single-use plastic initiative, remarking on the use of glass bottles at the ceremony, likening her efforts to World War II.
"I’m very proud to say SAG-AFTRA and MPA has forged Green Council, the biggest joint effort of Stars and Studios to save the planet since World War II," she said.
"Mission number one, an honor system to eliminate single use plastic on camera, behind the scenes and leverage star power to challenge audiences around the world to do the same. You may notice this year on your tables are glass bottles," she added.

In a bizarre and frenzied rant Monday evening, CNN anchor Chris Cuomo blasted pro-life Americans as racist haters of science over their attempts to challenge the legal precedents behind abortion rights established in the landmark case of Roe v. Wade.
Cuomo, obviously irked by the Supreme Court's decision to hear a Mississippi case this fall which could result in a major rollback of abortion rights, vented on his primetime show that conservative challenges to abortion laws are "not really about science" but are merely political tactics used to divide people and distract from real policy reform.
The case set for consideration is Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization. It concerns a 2018 abortion law passed in Mississippi that bans abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy, which critics say is before the fetus becomes viable, or is able to survive outside the womb.
In the state's petition to the court, Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch argued, "It is well past time for the Court to revisit the wisdom of the viability bright-line rule."
A legitimate question to be posed, one would think. But Cuomo saw it differently.
"You would think that we would have impaneled experts on a special commission by now to see what the science says, right, but we don't seem to have the intellectual curiosity about this issue," the progressive anchor said on his CNN show.
"Because it's not really about science — it has become a culture war. It's a political lever to use as a distraction from policy and solving problems, to allow people to get up in their religion and their righteousness," he continued.

"It's not about science or consensus," Cuomo went on. "It's about dividing lines, legislating to the far-right white-fright vote, flooding the zone with 536 bills that abridge a woman's right to control her own body, in 46 states."
"It's just like voting rights in one way," Cuomo strangely charged, comparing the effort to limit abortions to Republican state voting initiatives in places like Georgia characterized by progressives as racist and the "new Jim Crow."
During the rant, Cuomo even seemed to push back against his own perspective by arguing that science may be on the side of the pro-life movement.
He noted that modern "medical capabilities may be moving the point of viability well short of what it was assumed to be in 1973 with Roe v. Wade," a point which was in fact elucidated in Mississippi's petition to the Supreme Court.
Wednesday night's vice presidential debate was a substantive, issue-driven, coherent political debate between Vice President Mike Pence and Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.), and a significant amount of the media discussion about and reaction to the debate focused on a fly.
During the debate at Kingsbury Hall, Salt Lake City, Utah, a fly landed on Pence's head and sat there for about two minutes.

Aside from the fly, immediate media reaction to the debate focused on the performances of the two vice presidential candidates. MSNBC host Rachel Maddow remarked that the debate reminded her of what politics used to be like, before criticizing the Trump administration.

Maddow led a panel with MSNBC contributors Nicole Wallace and Joy Reid.
Reid, after mentioning the fly, criticized Pence for interrupting Harris, accusing him of "doing a softer version of what Donald Trump did last week."
"He repeatedly interrupted her, he demanded, well, he also repeatedly interrupted the other woman in the room, which is the moderator who seemed to at some point lose control of him, and he also continually demanded that Kamala Harris answer his questions," Reid said. "She was not there to answer his questions."
After Reid noted how Pence apparently steamrolled the moderator and Harris, which she said will hurt Trump with women, Wallace said his performance was "flaccid and anemic," which she says will hurt Trump with men.

Pence was criticized by other commentators for interrupting Harris. According to CNN chief media correspondent Brian Stelter, CBS anchor Norah Odonnell claimed that Pence interrupted Harris "twice as often" as Harris interrupted Pence.

Others said Pence performed well. CBS' Norah O'Donnell said Pence was "masterful."
"You may not agree with anything his administration does, but in terms of his debating style he repeatedly did not answer the question that was posed to him about the record of the Trump administration on a number of issues, he pivoted and used the time to deliver a direct attack against Joe Biden's long record in Washington. And I was stunned because I thought that Kamala Harris, the former prosecutor and skilled debater ... would be able to make sure it was the Trump record that was on defense."

Conservatives, for the most part, say Pence won the debate. Progressives say Harris won. But if debates are won on memorability, we should all acknowledge the fly as the true winner.
