NYPD breach occupied Columbia University building and arrest around 100 Hamas-endorsed students

Pro-Hamas students at Columbia University received a well-earned civics lesson Tuesday evening from New York City's finest.

Hamas-endorsed radicals illegally camped outside Columbia University for more than a week, regurgitating genocidal rhetoric and demanding the institution divest from Israel. The administration set multiple deadlines that went unheeded, then finally gave the radicals an ultimatum Monday: Leave the encampment by 2 p.m. or face suspension. This ultimatum also fell on deaf ears.

The radicals opted instead to seize the university's Hamilton Hall just as their leftist forebears had 58 years earlier in protest of America's military action against mass-murdering communists in southeast Asia.

Minouche Shafik, the president of the university, noted in a Wednesday letter to the New York Police Department that the illegal occupation was made possible by an individual who "hid in the building until after it closed and let the other individuals in."

The keffiyeh-adorned radicals reportedly ransacked the interior — busting doors and windows, destroying furniture and blockading entrances — while representatives of the anti-Israel radicals issued demands outside, suggesting that keeping the hall's illegal occupiers' stomachs from grumbling was the university's responsibility and amounted to "basic humanitarian aid."

Shafik ultimately pleaded for the NYPD to intervene, stressing that the "takeover of Hamilton Hall and the continued encampments raise serious safety concerns for the individuals involved and the entire community." Shafik also suggested that "the actions of these individuals are unfortunately escalating."

Around 6 p.m., Mayor Eric Adams implored the radicals to "leave the area and to leave the area now." Adams suggested further that "professional outside agitators" had a hand in the illegal takeover.

The terrorist-supported radicals ignored the mayor's request just as they had ignored the university's earlier requests.

Tuesday, on the eve of leftists' beloved May Day, the NYPD obliged the university president to the chagrin of Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.).

As police made their way to Hamilton Hall en masse, Columbia Students for Justice in Palestine — among the student groups referred to as "ours" by the Gaza-based terrorist organization Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine — called for escalations, writing, "ALL OUT TO COLUMBIA! DEFEND THE ENCAMPMENTS! FROM THE WALLS TO THE GATES, IT IS TIME TO ESCALATE! #Escalate4Gaza."

While the radicals prepared for the confrontation, Columbia faculty members preemptively denounced the police.

A statement attributed to the Columbia University Chapter of the American Association of University Professors, shared online by leftist professor Joseph Howley, said, "NYPD presence in our neighborhood endangers our entire community. Armed police entering our campus places students and everyone else on campus at risk."

The university indicated in a statement obtained by WABC-TV that the NYPD arrived on campus around 9 p.m., which was crowded with leftists chanting anti-police and anti-Israel slogans.

Police were initially unable to enter the building on account of the barricades. The New York Post reported that several leftists stood on the inside of the doorway taunting officers while fellow travelers outside chanted, "Pigs!"

Around 9:30 p.m., police drove their Mobile Adjustable Ramp System vehicle up to the building, affording a column of around 30 armored riot officers equipped with zip-tie handcuffs a second-story window into the building. Police successfully climbed into the building, then made quick work out of the radicals inside with the aid of four distraction devices, which apparently went off with a bang.

According to the New York Times, at least 108 student radicals were arrested.

In addition to dragging out the radicals who seized and vandalized Hamilton Hall, police also dealt with the anti-Israel encampment on the university's West Lawn, reported the Times.

Officers searched the hundreds of tents and flushed out the remaining radicals.

Assistant Commissioner Carlos Nieves indicated that the "people that were in the encampment are now gone," reported the Post.

Protesters cheered on the blubbering arrestees as they were bused off campus.

Police reportedly indicated ahead of taking action Tuesday that the Hamilton Hall occupiers would be charged with third-degree burglary, trespassing, and criminal mischief. Those illegally camped outside would be slapped with trespassing and disorderly conduct charges.

Police clash started because a van filled with arrested students was exiting the perimeter.

Following the successful counter-extremism operation, Shafik said in a statement, "We regret that protesters have chosen to escalate the situation through their actions. After the University learned overnight that Hamilton Hall had been occupied, vandalized, and blockaded, we were left with no choice. Columbia public safety personnel were forced out of the building, and a member of our facilities team was threatened. We will not risk the safety of our community or the potential for further escalation."

The university has requested that NYPD maintain a presence on campus until May 17 to "maintain order and ensure encampments are not reestablished."

Mayor Eric Adams admits influx of illegal aliens under Biden 'will destroy New York City'

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) used to have to travel by plane to feign heartbreak at the fallout of what she claimed was a "manufactured crisis." Owing to the Biden administration's failure to secure the southern border, Ocasio-Cortez recently admitted she has been spared the need to leave New York City for a repeat performance, as "this crisis is in our own backyard."

Ocasio-Cortez is not the only open-borders and sanctuary city champion in NYC now unable to ignore the devastating impact of Democratic policies and mismanagement.

NYC Mayor Eric Adams' campaign to have fliers distributed at the U.S.-Mexico border telling illegal immigrants not to make life more difficult for him appears to have failed, leaving him at wit's end.

At a town hall on the Upper West Side Wednesday night, Adams stressed that "this issue will destroy New York City."

"Let me tell you something, New Yorkers: never in my life have I had a problem that I did not see an ending to. I don't see an ending to this," said Adams. "We're getting 10,000 migrants a month. One time, we were just getting Venezuela. Now we're getting Ecuador. Now we're getting Russian-speaking coming through Mexico. Now we're getting Western Africa. Now we're getting people from all over the globe that made their minds up that they're gonna come through the southern border and coming to New York City."

The New York Times indicated that over 100,000 illegal aliens have stormed the city, overwhelming services intended for down and out American citizens. Having had its 200 shelters maxed out, the city has been dumping illegal aliens into humanitarian centers, converted hotels, school gymnasiums, and religious buildings, as well as imploring citizens to do what Adams is unwilling to do himself: bring the unwelcome guests into their homes.

The city is also looking to enroll nearly 20,000 migrant children in public schools this fall, which may similarly have an adverse impact on the legal population.

Though apparently unwilling to stem the flood of illegal traffic into the country, the Biden administration has suggested that NYC offload its problem to federal-owned facilities farther afield, such as a tax office on Long Island and Atlantic City International Airport, reported Bloomberg.

However, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) appears keen to respect NYC's sanctuary status, stating, "We cannot and will not force other parts of our state to shelter migrants, nor are we going to be asking these migrants to move to other parts of the state against their will."

The cost to NYC of reaping the whirlwind of Democrats' open-border policies and sanctuary city invitations has grown to at least $12 billion just to house and care for the illegal aliens. This price tag has prompted Adams to demand that the Biden and Hochul administrations "step up."

Adams underscored Wednesday, "We have a $12 billion deficit that we’re going to have to cut. Every service in this city is going to be impacted, all of us."

"I said it last year when we had 15,000 and I'm telling you now with 110,000. The city we knew, we're about to lose, and we are all in this together, all of us," he added.

Adams took a not-so-subtle shot at President Joe Biden, noting that "month after month I stood up and said this is gonna come to a neighborhood near you. Well, we're here, we're getting no support on this national crisis."

While the mayor made a veiled dig at Biden, he saved his most vicious barb for Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who has bused illegal aliens to sanctuary cities around the nation, proving every time leftists' rhetoric to be hollow. Even though the Republican governor is desperately trying to solve their shared problem — having his latest effort thwarted once again by the Biden administration and a federal judge — Adams suggested Abbott is a "madman."

TheBlaze recently noted that a new Siena College poll found that 82% of New Yorkers called the migrant crisis serious and 52% called it "very serious," having likely become unable to ignore the multitudes of illegal aliens straining the system, some of whom are contributing to the city's worsening crime.

Rep. Mike Lawler (R-N.Y.) emphasized that this is a "crisis of their own making."

"It's very similar to cashless bail," said Lawler. "When you create a sanctuary city policy that invites migrants to come regardless of their status, you are going to get a lot of people coming, and now they can't handle the influx."

'I have never experienced more harassment': AOC responds to Twitter's claim of overwhelmingly 'healthy' content on the platform

Twitter Safety claimed in a tweet on Tuesday that over 99% of the material users and advertisers see on the platform is "healthy" and that so-called "hate speech" marks a tiny proportion of content. But Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York responded to the tweet, beginning her comments by writing, "lololol."

"More than 99% of content users and advertisers see on Twitter is healthy. And the reach of hate speech on Twitter continues to represent an extremely small fraction of the overall conversation," Twitter Safety tweeted.

"This past March, Twitter partnered with Sprinklr to understand, measure and reduce hate speech using its AI-based model and to further our commitment to create a brand-safe environment for our agencies and advertisers," the tweet notes. "Sprinklr's independent model continues to show the reach of daily English-language hate speech impressions is even lower than Twitter's own model estimates. Sprinklr estimates the average daily number to be 0.003% compared to Twitter's estimate of 0.012% for the period of January 1, 2023 to May 31, 2023. Additionally, we estimate hate speech impressions are 30 percent lower on average vs. pre-acquisition."

Elon Musk responded to the tweet by writing, "Great work by the X/Twitter team."

But Ocasio-Cortez asserted that she has never suffered more harassment on Twitter than she is presently experiencing.

"I have never experienced more harassment on this platform than I do now. People now pay to give their harassment more visibility. The de-verification of journalists, civic orgs, and figures has made it impossible to follow conversations. I wish it could be usable again," the congresswoman wrote.

Conservative and progressive House members vote to withdraw US troops from Somalia, but majorities in both parties shoot measure down

Majorities of House lawmakers in both political parties shot down a measure that would have compelled President Joe Biden to pull all U.S. troops out of Somalia, other than troops protecting the American embassy.

The text of the measure would have instructed "the President to remove all United States Armed Forces, other than United States Armed Forces assigned to protect the United States Embassy, from Somalia by not later than the date that is 365 days after the date of the adoption of this resolution."

Minorities from both parties voted in favor of the measure, with leftist lawmakers like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and Rep. Cori Bush (D-Mo.) joining with conservative legislators like Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) and Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) to support the concurrent resolution.

Overall, 52 Republicans and 50 Democrats voted to yank U.S. troops out of Somalia, while a whopping 165 Republicans and 156 Democrats voted against the measure.

"By a large margin Congress supports keeping US troops in Somalia. I do not. Most voters probably don't either," GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz tweeted.

"I just voted for @RepMattGaetz's resolution to bring our troops home from Somalia. There are currently no vital U.S. interests in having a presence there," Republican Rep. Ken Buck of Colorado tweeted.

Last month, majorities of House members in each party rejected a concurrent resolution that would have directed the president to pull U.S. forces out of Syria. Only 47 Republicans and 56 Democrats backed that measure, while 171 Republicans and 150 Democrats voted against it.

'Stunning & brave': AOC ego-double led away in invisible handcuffs for heroic protest

BlazeTV's Allie Beth Stuckey, a hero, was "violently arrested" (not really) for protesting low-rise jeans on Wednesday, just one day after the brave and stunning Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York was handcuffed (also not really) as she was escorted from a pro-abortion protest at the U.S. Capitol.

On Tuesday, Capitol police arrested several Democratic lawmakers for refusing to comply with law enforcement orders to stop obstructing traffic outside the Supreme Court. Video of actresses Ocasio-Cortez and Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) being led away peacefully but holding their hands behind their backs as if handcuffed (except when AOC raised her fist for a shackle-free communist salute) went viral.

AOC can't stop repeating the word 'baby' as she pitches 'SICK' plan to abort more babies in red states

Vice President Kamala Harris' cringeworthy habit of getting stuck on repeat seemed to have brushed off on Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) as she pitched her outrageous plan to keep abortion available on demand in red states.

In response to the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade on Friday, Ocasio-Cortez is demanding that the U.S. government, presumably funded by taxpayers, should set up abortion providers on federal land in red states.

"Yeah, I’ll start with the babiest of the babiest of baby steps. Open abortion clinics on federal lands in red states right now, right now, right now!" Ocasio-Cortez shouted to a crowd of pro-abortion protesters.

'Not every program has to be for everybody': AOC responds to question about how student debt forgiveness would benefit those who have already paid off their loans

In response to a question about how student debt cancellation would benefit people who have already paid off their loans, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) suggested that while individuals who have already paid down their student debt will not benefit from debt cancellation, they might benefit from another program — "It all comes around," she wrote.

On Instagram, @RepAOC gives a straightforward answer to the question: What about those who already paid off their student loans? Her answer: \u201cIt all comes around.\u201dpic.twitter.com/4mk3GWkgp1
— Philip Melanchthon Wegmann (@Philip Melanchthon Wegmann) 1651429786

"I've said it before and I'll say it again: Not every program has to be for everybody. People with apartments pay for first time homeowner benefits. Young people pay for Medicare for our seniors. People who take public transit pay for car infrastructure," Ocasio-Cortez noted.

"Maybe student loan forgiveness doesn't impact you. That doesn't make it bad. I am sure there are certainly other things that student loan borrowers' taxes pay for. We can do good things and reject the scarcity mindset that says doing something good for someone else comes at the cost of something for ourselves.

"An example: If a person is blessed enough to be in a position to have paid off their loans, maybe they have a home now and benefitted from first time homeowners programs that people crushed by student loans help subsidize when they aren't able to buy a home because of student debt. It all comes around. It's okay. We can support things we won't directly benefit from," the congresswoman concluded.

Last week, the president said that he is "considering dealing with some debt reduction," though he indicated that forgiving $50,000 of debt is not on the table — many Democrats have advocated for Biden to nix up to $50,000 of federal student loan debt per borrower.

Pres. Biden on student loan forgiveness: "I am not considering $50,000 debt reduction but I am in the process of taking a hard look" at some student debt forgiveness. \n\nHe adds he'll have an answer "in the next coming weeks."pic.twitter.com/R78gMrWy8Q
— CBS News (@CBS News) 1651165155

"Canceling $50,000 in debt is where you really make a dent in inequality and the racial wealth gap. $10,000 isn't," Ocasio-Cortez said, according to the Washington Post.

But a move to cancel any amount of student loan debt would likely be highly controversial because many Americans would be outraged such a policy.

"I just worked my butt off to pay off my very expensive student loans a few months ago. If Biden forgives student loans, I’m going to be livid," Kassy Dillon tweeted last week.

But while many people would likely share Dillon's sentiments on the issue, Democrats continue calling for Biden to cancel student debt.

"Canceling student loan debt for working- and middle-class Americans is the right thing to do," Democratic Rep. Ro Khanna of California asserted in an opinion piece. "No one should be prevented from pursuing higher education because they can’t afford the financial burden it poses. Furthermore, it makes economic sense: Relief from student debt would help young people buy homes, build wealth and otherwise grow our economy."

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez poses the question, 'How is it that the party who believes corporations are people are suddenly trying to police who is a woman and who isn’t?'

Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York has indicated that Republicans are attempting "to police who is a woman and who isn't."

"How is it that the party who believes corporations are people are suddenly trying to police who is a woman and who isn’t? These are the same people who think Arby’s is a legal human being. I don’t see them assigning genders to their shady little LLCs. Give me a break," the progressive lawmaker tweeted on Friday.

In response to the congresswoman's post, Justin Haskins of the Heartland Institute fired back: "You sound like a fool. No one argues corporations are people. The point is that they are owned by people and those people have rights too. You may not believe that, but at least be honest and thoughtful."

You sound like a fool. No one argues corporations are people. The point is that they are owned by people and those people have rights too. You may not believe that, but at least be honest and thoughtful.
— Justin T. Haskins (@Justin T. Haskins) 1649448029

"This is an incomprehensibly stupid tweet," Liz Wolfe of Reason tweeted in response to the lawmaker's comments.

While conservatives recognize the scientific realities regarding the distinctions between the male and female sexes, liberals have been waging a campaign to foist the dogmas of radical gender ideology upon society.

The issue of who really can be defined as a woman, and who cannot, has critical ramifications for society at large.

The matter concerns important issues, such as whether biological males who identify as women should be allowed to compete in athletic events designated for biological females or use bathrooms and other facilities designated for females.

In some cases, red states have been enacting legislation to push back against the reality-defying gender-bending movement.

On Friday, Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey, a Republican, signed two such pieces of legislation, including one that makes it a felony to prescribe or administer puberty blockers or gender transition hormones to individuals younger than 19 — the bill also makes it a felony to perform gender reassignment surgeries on people in that age range.

"There are very real challenges facing our young people, especially with today's societal pressures and modern culture," Ivey said in a statement. "I believe very strongly that if the Good Lord made you a boy, you are a boy, and if he made you a girl, you are a girl. We should especially protect our children from these radical, life-altering drugs and surgeries when they are at such a vulnerable stage in life. Instead, let us all focus on helping them to properly develop into the adults God intended them to be."

'It gave me a brain freeze': AOC emerges victorious after CHILLING brush with bowl of ice water

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) daringly dunked her face into a bowl of ice water — twice — and allegedly survived to tell the tale.

On Instagram Live, Ocasio-Cortez explained, "I have been very very stressed out lately and today I found myself staying in a stressful mental pattern that was just creating more stress for myself. I wanted to interrupt that. Riley [her boyfriend] and I read previously that dunking your face in a bowl of ice water can be a way of redirecting by forcing your body to do a kind of reset of your parasympathetic nervous system, so I’m going to try it."

Without hesitation, Ocasio-Cortez proceeded to dunk her face into the bowl of ice water.

According to text on the video, she observed that the icy water was “very very cold."

“It gave me a brain freeze,” the text on the video added after Ocasio-Cortez emerged from her first dunk. “But I must say it worked! Turns out dunking your head into freezing cold ice water is a pretty good way to redirect. Hope this helps someone!”

The video ends as Ocasio-Cortez plunges in a second time. We can only assume she survived. Watch the chilling video below:
