No more 'safe harbor for illegals': Colony Ridge settles with DOJ, Texas



Colony Ridge, one of the most controversial land developers in the nation, has reached a settlement with the Department of Justice and the state of Texas regarding accusations of predatory loan practices, poor living conditions, and incentivizing illegal immigration.

According to a DOJ press release issued Tuesday, the Colony Ridge developer has agreed to pay $68 million to settle the lawsuit. Of that sum, $48 million will be invested in shoring up local infrastructure: $30 million for general infrastructure, and $18 million for drainage systems "to address severe and costly flooding damage to homes."

The other $20 million will be invested in improving law enforcement and public safety in the area, including the construction of a new law enforcement facility. The developer also pledged to work with law enforcement to prevent those on a terror watch list and those suspected of transnational gang membership from purchasing property there, the settlement agreement said.

According to the DOJ, Colony Ridge also agreed to:

  • implement stricter underwriting standards that better assess borrowers' ability to repay loans;
  • avoid misleading advertisements and instead "truthfully and accurately describe the properties for sale and applicable loan terms";
  • work with homeowners to prevent loan default and foreclosure; and
  • suspend seeking final approval on plats for direct-to-consumer sales for three years.

As part of the settlement, the Colony Ridge defendants did not admit to any wrongdoing. In fact, the defendants "expressly" denied any wrongdoing and signed off on the agreement "solely for the purpose of facilitating a settlement" with Texas and the DOJ, the agreement noted.

"We're happy to resolve these lawsuits and move forward serving our growing community. The settlement allows us to continue investing in our neighborhoods and supporting the thousands of families who have trusted us to provide a place for them to call home. We're glad that funds from this agreement will be directed back into the community to benefit residents," said a statement from Colony Ridge, according to KTRK.

A sprawling, 33,000-acre development just north of Houston once dubbed "the world's largest trailer park," Colony Ridge first made national headlines more than two years ago after the development was accused of luring mainly Spanish-speakers into loans with exorbitant interest rates, often leading to foreclosure. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton previously claimed that the foreclosure rate at Colony Ridge was 50 times greater than the 2023 national average.

In their respective statements about the settlement, both DOJ Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon and Paxton drew attention to these disturbing allegations.

"Intentionally targeting vulnerable borrowers with the American dream of home ownership and then trapping them in a predatory scheme is not only wrong, it also violates our civil rights laws. This DOJ will go after all lenders, financiers, and land developers who participate in schemes which ultimately encourage illegal immigration," said Dhillon of the DOJ Civil Rights Division.

"Under my watch, Texas will never be a sanctuary for illegals. Colony Ridge endangered American citizens by allowing illegal aliens to run rampant on its streets, in its schools, and in its community. Now, it’s time for those responsible to pay a steep cost for their unlawful actions," said a statement from Paxton.

"My office will continue to bring the full force of the law against anyone who threatens the safety of our state or creates a safe harbor for illegals."

A year ago, ICE made over 100 arrests in Colony Ridge as part of "phase one" of a larger area operation. According to an agency X post dated February 25, 2025, 118 people were arrested, including those with charges or convictions for "criminal sexual conduct, homicide, theft, negligent manslaughter, child sexual abuse, crimes of moral turpitude, weapons offenses and drug offenses."

‘Destruction by design’: The elites’ playbook ‘to bring Lady Liberty down’



When you take an honest look at America right now – heightened crime, open borders, mass censorship, corrupt media, declining faith in our election system – you might say we’re living in chaos.

But you’d be wrong.

“What's happening today isn't chaos because the definition of chaos is complete disorder and confusion,” says Glenn Beck. “I think this is very well thought out.”

“The current destruction of America that we are experiencing today is by design” – specifically by elites who are “very smart,” “very evil,” and have a “playbook to bring Lady Liberty down to her knees,” Glenn says.

This all started during President George W. Bush’s term, when he decided to “violate the free market to save the free market.”

“Then Obama took it up the next level; Trump then delayed it – slowed it down [and] actually put us in reverse,” and now the current administration and other powerful elites are “finishing the fundamental transformation of America,” he explains.

The raid of Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s most recent $354 million fraud verdict, the seven federal investigations of Elon Musk, and even YouTube’s demonetization of Glenn are just a few examples of the regime’s plan to “purge anyone that they can use policy to stop.”

And yet, just last week, “Biden's own Justice Department declared that they won't be pursuing charges against the president because he was too mentally incompetent to stand trial,” says Glenn, adding that “too brain-dead to answer questions” means he’s “too brain-dead to run the country.”

But most agree at this point that Biden isn’t actually running the country but is serving as a puppet (and not a very good one) for those who are calling the shots.

The latest indictment focuses on Trump questioning the integrity of the election and the events of January 6 that followed — but Glenn Beck sees this indictment for what it really is.

“The left has been building an election-winning machine for years now. It took it out for a test drive in 2020, and it’s working hard to perfect it by 2024. Because once this death star is fully operational, we may never win another election again,” Glenn warns.

However, Glenn doesn’t believe losing hope is the answer.

“It is equally as important that we do not lose hope. There is still a way to return the electoral system to its factory settings, and it starts with exposing what we’re up against,” he says.

And Glenn is ready to expose exactly what that is.

“It’s just a coincidence that the entire intelligence community, the federal law enforcement community, all rallied together to accuse candidate Donald Trump of being in league with Russia.”

When that didn’t work, they all rallied together in an attempt to “cripple his presidency,” Glenn adds.

“And that’s just a coincidence,” Glenn mocks. “There is no deep state. They then impeached him, not once, but twice. Even going as far as leaking top-secret communications from his presidential phone calls with foreign leaders.”

“The people involved,” he continues, “came from the state department, the FBI, the CIA, the Department of Justice, and members of both the Democrat and Republican Parties, and they all use the mainstream media to further push public opinion. It was all lies, we know now. But there is no deep state.”

Glenn points out that nearly everything, from the many Hunter Biden cover-ups to the mystery surrounding the COVID-19 vaccine, that was forced on millions of Americans has all been a product of the deep state.

“Do not fall for the black pill psyop. You have the power to change all of this. You just first have to recognize that you have the power. You have to believe. All of these things are happening not only because they have lots of money, but because people are dedicated to the cause,” Glenn says.

“Their cause is evil.”

It would be impressive if technology existed that could deflect an asteroid on a path toward Earth and save mankind from devastating impact. Well, NASA plans to test new technology that aims to do just that.

On Wednesday's show, Pat Gray and Jeff Fisher detailed how NASA has approved a project called the Double Asteroid Redirection Test, the aim of which is to throw a "small" asteroid off course in October 2022.
