Woman fatally shot near NYC illegal immigrant shelter that’s become hotbed for violence

A fatal shooting took place early Monday morning near a controversial New York City shelter for illegal immigrants, according to multiple reports.

Authorities stated that gunfire erupted near the Randall’s Island shelter around 3:30 a.m. As a result of the attack, three victims were rushed to a nearby hospital.

Violence is 'becoming common practice' at Randall's Island.

A 44-year-old woman was pronounced dead after she was shot in the face and back, authorities reported. A 32-year-old man, who was hit in the throat, and a 31-year-old woman, who was hit in the back, reportedly are in stable condition.

The New York Police Department said the investigation is still ongoing, and no arrests have been made.

Authorities are searching for at least two male suspects, WABC-TV reported. Both suspects fled the scene — one on a moped and the other in a car with New Mexico license plates, the news outlet stated.

Anything else?

The Randall’s Island shelter has become a hotbed for violence since it began housing illegal aliens. Multiple incidents have occurred on or near the property over the past year.

In February, a video of illegal immigrants attacking NYPD officers at the shelter went viral on social media. The footage captured a group of officers struggling to handcuff and detain an individual while a mob of illegal aliens, mostly adult males, attempted to disrupt the arrest. Some individuals in the unruly crowd hurled backpacks and bottles at the officers as they ultimately subdued and carried out the suspect.

A few months ago, a group of five illegal alien males allegedly beat another man while he was eating on his bed. A security guard also sustained injuries while attempting to break up the altercation. A local law enforcement source told Fox News Digital that attacks are “becoming common practice” at the shelter.

In May, another security guard working at the Randall’s Island shelter was punched, scratched, and bitten after he tried to break up a fight between a couple.

A 24-year-old illegal immigrant was fatally stabbed at the Randall’s Island shelter after a group of men attacked him in January.

Many of the illegal aliens at the shelter have reported that shelter residents have split into “camps” based on ethnicity, and “everyone has a knife.” Other individuals reported rampant theft.

At least two of the suspects believed to be responsible for the fatal January stabbing are believed to be members of the Venezuelan street gang Tren de Aragua.

Fox News Digital reported that the suspects involved in Monday’s shooting also are being investigated for possible ties to the gang.

Illegal immigrant bites, punches security guard in vicious attack at controversial NYC shelter: Report

A security guard at Randalls Island shelter in New York City was brutally attacked by an illegal alien on Monday morning, sources told the New York Post.

The tent city shelter has become a hotbed for violent activity since it was converted into temporary makeshift housing for illegal immigrants in August.

Around 6:45 a.m. Monday, 24-year-old Oscar Adrian Al Ordonez was heard arguing with his wife inside the shelter, the Post reported. A security guard, 40, intervened in the altercation, hoping to break up the heated exchange.

Ordonez responded by abruptly punching the guard, according to sources. The aggressor also allegedly scratched the worker’s face and neck and bit his head.

The security guard defended himself, punching Ordonez in the face, the sources told the Post. They noted that the illegal immigrant was bruised and bleeding as a result of the conflict. When authorities arrived at the scene, neither Ordonez nor the guard requested medical attention.

According to the Post, Ordonez was arrested for the altercation.

Many violent incidents have broken out at Randalls Island since its opening.

Most recently, in April, a mob of five male illegal aliens residing at the shelter viciously attacked another individual while he was eating on his cot. A security guard also suffered injuries after attempting to stop the altercation. The men were charged with third-degree assault and harassment.

In February, a video posted on social media captured a massive group of unruly illegal immigrants attacking New York Police Department officers who were attempting to make an arrest at the shelter. The video showed bottles and backpacks flying through the air toward police as they struggled to handcuff and remove the individual.

A 24-year-old illegal migrant was fatally stabbed at Randall’s Island in January after he was assaulted by four other illegal aliens residing at the shelter. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D) previously stated that the victim was “trapped and chased” by the group “until he collapsed.” Three of the alleged attackers were charged with first-degree manslaughter and gang assault.

"Everyone in the lunchroom was crowded together, standing on tables watching. I seen security trying to cool down this one guest, but the guest he just wasn't having it," one shelter employee told WNBC. "He ran to get something, came back and lunged at the guy. Everything happened so quickly."

Some illegal immigrants residing at Randall’s Island have stated that the shelter has divided into “camps” based on ethnicity, the Post reported. Another individual told the news outlet that “everyone has a knife.”

Migrant mob attacks man at NYC shelter, injures security guard

A mob of illegal migrants attacked another migrant at a controversial Manhattan shelter early Monday morning, according to several media reports.

A group of five men residing at the Randall's Island migrant shelter were charged with third-degree assault and harassment after they were accused of violently attacking another male migrant while he was eating on his bed around 1:45 a.m. According to police, the victim, whose name has not been released, was 24 years old.

Authorities stated that the victim was surrounded by the men, who then proceeded to punch and scratch him "all over his head and face" and on his legs, Fox News Digital reported.

The men accused of perpetrating the assault were identified as Howard Ochoa Olivero, 27, Jose Manuel Maza, 29, Jose Squera, 20, Xavier Pacheco, 32, and Carlos Maiz Betancourt, 23.

Police reported that a Randall's Island migrant shelter security guard sustained injuries while attempting to break up the melee.

A video captured outside the migrant shelter after the altercation showed a heavy police presence and suspects being escorted out in handcuffs. At least two individuals were placed in ambulances, Fox News Digital reported.

A law enforcement source told the news outlet that brawls are "becoming common practice" at the migrant shelter.

Last month, the city imposed a curfew at the Randall's Island shelter, which took effect on March 20.

A spokesperson for the city stated, "New York City continues to lead the nation in managing this national humanitarian crisis, and that includes prioritizing the health and safety of both asylum seekers in our care and New Yorkers who live in the communities surrounding the emergency shelters we manage."

The City Hall representative noted that the curfew was similar to those placed on other homeless shelters.

"This policy will allow for more efficient capacity management for migrants in the city's care," the spokesperson added.

New York City Democratic Mayor Eric Adams announced curfews for several migrant shelters in January after residents complained about door-to-door begging at all hours of the day and night.

A video posted on social media last month showed migrants at Randall's Island shelter becoming unruly and throwing objects at New York Police Department officers after authorities attempted to arrest one of the migrants. According to the New York Post, the detained individual was not supposed to be at the facility and had refused requests to leave.

The footage showed a disorderly mob of male migrants hurling backpacks and bottles at police officers. One female officer appeared to get struck in the head by a backpack.

Earlier this year, a 24-year-old migrant was fatally stabbed at the shelter during an altercation involving four other illegal migrants. Three men were subsequently charged with first-degree manslaughter and gang assault in connection with the murder.

Migrants residing at Randall's Island, which was converted into a massive tent city in August, told the New York Post that the asylum-seekers living at the shelter have split into "camps" based on ethnicity.

"Everyone has a knife," one migrant told the Post.

"There is a lot of stealing," a second migrant stated. "If you put your phone down or your charger for a moment, they take it immediately. Any of your stuff that you don't have they will take. … There is definitely camps."
