'Corrupting Our Entire Politics': Michigan's El-Sayed, Campaigning Alongside Anti-American Streamer Hasan Piker, Suggests US Lawmakers Only Support 'Genocidal' Iran War Because of AIPAC
ANN ARBOR and EAST LANSING, Mich.—The left-wing Democrat running for Michigan's open Senate seat, Abdul El-Sayed, campaigned Tuesday alongside anti-American streamer Hasan Piker. El-Sayed railed against the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and what he called the "genocidal" war in Iran, suggesting that U.S. lawmakers only support the war because of money from the pro-Israel advocacy group.

Dozens of Democrats side with Iran over Trump

As Operations Epic Fury and Roaring Lion under President Donald Trump close in on the first full week attacking Iran, the House has passed a resolution reaffirming Iran's pariah status against the United States. However, over 50 Democrats have refused to go along.
In a Thursday vote on a resolution reaffirming that "Iran continues to be the largest state sponsor of terrorism," 53 Democrats voted against the resolution, while Republicans voted unanimously in favor of it.
'It’s disappointing — but not shocking — that 53 of my Democrat colleagues could not vote in support of a resolution calling out Iran’s terrorism.'
Sponsored by Rep. Brian Mast (R-Fla.), the nonbinding resolution passed 372-53, with two Democrats voting present and five members not voting, including the embattled Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-Texas).
Of course, all members of the "Squad" of progressive Democrats were among the ranks of those who voted against the resolution: Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.), and Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.).

The two-page resolution stated several reasons Iran is inimical to the United States, including sponsoring enemies who have killed U.S. soldiers in the Middle East.
The reasons included, for example, that "the Islamic Republic of Iran remains the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism and provides substantial financial and military support to groups including Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis."
The resolution also made note of the Iranian nuclear enrichment program: "Whereas, according to the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafeal Grossi, Iran has amassed a large stockpile of enriched uranium and continues to block access to undeclared sites in Iran affiliated with their 'big, ambitious nuclear weapons program.'"
Rep. Lateefah Simon (D-Calif.) claimed the resolution "contains inaccuracies and is designed to justify the President's actions in Iran."
On the other hand, North Dakota Rep. Julie Fedorchak, a Republican, said in a statement: "Standing with our allies and confronting state-sponsored terrorism is essential to protecting Americans and advancing stability around the world. This resolution sends a strong message that we will not ignore or excuse the regime’s extremist actions.”
"It’s disappointing — but not shocking — that 53 of my Democrat colleagues could not vote in support of a resolution calling out Iran’s terrorism," Fedorchak subsequently wrote on X.

Liberals would rather stand with terrorists and dictators than Trump

President Trump carried out one of the most consequential military operations in recent history, killing 40 of Iran’s leaders along with Ayatollah Ali Khamenei — but the media and liberals would rather stand with Iran.
“It’s very clear what side the Democrats and the mainstream media stand on. And it’s not America’s side, and it’s not on the side of freedom either,” BlazeTV host Sara Gonzales says.
“I unequivocally oppose this war of choice and everyone should. And the bottom line, when it comes down to it, is that if we want to stop Donald Trump with this random decision that he has arrived at, then Congress must act, and Congress must act immediately,” former Vice President Kamala Harris told Fox following the president’s actions.
“The American people do not want our sons and daughters to go into this unauthorized war of choice, and I unequivocally oppose it,” she added.
“It is so disingenuous from the woman who was the vice president in an administration that was perfectly fine continuing the Russia-Ukraine war. I mean, we funded it. We gave them weapons. We did everything we could to continue that war under her administration,” Gonzales says.
“In fact, remember, there were moments where there could have been a negotiation, and she and Joe Biden or whoever the hell was pulling his puppet strings said, ‘Don’t do it. Don’t negotiate. We will keep funding this forever.’ So I don’t want to hear it from her,” she continues.
But it’s not just Harris that Gonzales takes issue with.
“I don’t want to hear it from the Democrats. I mean, Barack Obama was the king of dropping bombs without getting authorization. So I’m just not going to be lectured to by the likes of Kamala Harris,” Gonzales says, pointing out that Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) also publicly sided with Iran.
“You cannot ‘free’ people by killing them and destroying their country,” Tlaib wrote in a post on X.
“A terrorist who is in our country actually serving in Congress sided with the Ayatollah?” Gonzales says, adding, “I’m so shocked.”
