Last-Minute Supreme Court Decisions Temporarily Settle Pennsylvania’s Embattled Election Rules

SCOTUS left in place a ruling that allows 'naked' ballot 'do-overs,' and the Pennsylvania Supreme Court blocked a decision that would let improperly dated ballots count.

Media Attack New RNC Chair For Election Integrity Efforts, But GOP Critics Say He Could Do More

Whatley has a track record of emphasizing election integrity, but some of his critics say he needs to amp up his efforts.

After instigating McCarthy ouster last year, Gaetz suggests he'd make 'terrific' RNC chair

GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida, who last year successfully moved to oust then-House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) from the speakership, has suggested that McCarthy would make a good Republican National Committee chair.

"I fully endorse Kevin McCarthy for RNC Chair. Kevin is well organized and a very high-revenue fundraiser. He will also be well-liked by the RNC Committee. The RNC Chair doesn't make any policy decisions, set any agenda, or negotiate against Democrats, ever. Kevin would be terrific," Gaetz tweeted.

"Is there a greater troll in Congress than Matt?" Sebastian Gorka wrote in response to Gaetz's post.

"Stop stop he’s already dead," Molly Jong-Fast, tweeted in response to Gaetz.

During an X Spaces event, Gaetz suggested that Scott Presler and former Rep. Lee Zeldin of New York would be good options for RNC chair, and he also indicated that he likes Harmeet Dhillon, who previously sought the role but lost to McDaniel.

Last year, Gaetz moved to jettison McCarthy from the speakership. Ultimately, Gaetz, and seven other GOP lawmakers joined with Democrats in voting to oust McCarthy from the role. Republicans struggled to land on a replacement but eventually chose Rep. Mike Johnson of Louisiana. McCarthy decided to leave office before the end of his term and is no longer a member of Congress.

The New York Times has reported that according to two individuals, Republican National Committee chairwoman Ronna McDaniel informed former President Donald Trump that she intends to depart from her post after the South Carolina GOP presidential primary later this month.

Ramaswamy pushes 'FireRonna.com' while continuing to call for RNC chair to resign

Republican presidential primary candidate Vivek Ramaswamy is continuing to push for Republican National Committee chairwoman Ronna McDaniel to resign.

"I am sick & tired of this Republican Establishment that has made us a party of losers. Where is the accountability for years of losing: 2018, 2020, 2022 and now 2023? A week ago on the GOP Debate stage, I called on Ronna Romney McDaniel to resign. Now, I'm asking grassroots conservatives across the nation to join me so she can feel the power of the people. It's time to stop the culture of surrender and losing. Resign, Ronna. Add your name to the list," Ramaswamy tweeted, sharing the link to FireRonna.com.

The website asks whether McDaniel should be fired, offering boxes for people to select an answer. The form on the site includes fields for first and last name, cell phone number, zip code, and email address, though email is the only field required to submit. After providing an email address and clicking the "VOTE NOW" button, users are sent to a Ramaswamy campaign fundraising page.

"End the back-to-back-to-back-to-back losing sprees," Ramaswamy tweeted in another post when sharing a link to the site.

McDaniel's posts on X have been inundated with replies calling for her to resign.

During the third GOP presidential primary debate, which was held in Miami, Florida, last week, Ramaswamy called out McDaniel, saying that he would yield his time to her if she got on stage and resigned.

Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley called Ramaswamy "scum" during the debate, and Ramaswamy's campaign later appeared to capitalize on Haley's comment by offering "Rebel Scum" merchandise for sale.

The fourth GOP presidential primary debate is scheduled to take place on December 6.

‘No Brainer’: RNC Chair Says Support Pledge Will Be Required For GOP Debates

'We haven't put the criteria out but I expect a pledge will be part of it. It was part of 2016, I think it's kind of a no-brainer, right?'

DeSantis says 'new blood' needed at Republican National Committee

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said that he believes that the Republican National Committee needs "change" and "new blood" and that he supports Harmeet Dhillon's position on pulling the RNC out of the nation's capital.

"I like what Harmeet Dhillon has said about getting the RNC out of D.C. Why would you want to have your headquarters in the most Democrat city in America? It's more Democrat than San Francisco is," DeSantis told Turning Point USA founder and president Charlie Kirk.

"But I do think we need some fresh thinking," DeSantis said, adding that he believes it will be tough to motivate the grassroots to donate money and volunteer with the RNC if people do not witness a shift in direction.

Dhillon is challenging current RNC chair Ronna McDaniel. MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell is also vying for the position. The vote is slated for Friday.

DeSantis described the 2018, 2020, and 2022 election cycles as "substandard." McDaniel was at the helm of the RNC during all three of those election cycles.

“🚨BREAKING: Gov. DeSantis calls for Change at the RNC🚨

"We've had 3 substandard election cycles in a row, '18, '20, and '22, and I'd say '22 was the worst...I think we need a change. I think we need to get some new blood in the RNC. I like what Harmeet Dhillon has said..."”

"We need to decentralize the RNC out of DC and away from the lobbyists, the consultants, and frankly the beholden politicians who dictate the party's direction at the expense of what our voters want," Dhillon's website for her RNC chair run notes. "I'd like to see RNC move important operations – fundraising, legal, political, and strategic – out of DC."

DeSantis won reelection last year during the Sunshine State's 2022 gubernatorial election, and while he has not announced plans to pursue the presidency, he is widely viewed as someone who could potentially mount a White House bid.

"Republican leaders from all wings of the party are hearing what voters are saying & objectively calling out our need to improve — which means a change in leadership & while am not seeking endorsements from any presidential candidate — I appreciate ALL Rep. feedback/support," Dhillon tweeted.
