Dr. Martens advertises shoes featuring illustration of trans person with double mastectomy scars: 'Inspired by the queer community'

Footwear company Dr. Martens recently came under fire for advertising a pair of DIY-designed shoes featuring a transgender person with double mastectomy scars.

Last week, Dr. Martens' USA Instagram account posted a free giveaway for a customized pair of shoes designed by a queer artist, illustrator Jess Vosseteig. To win, followers were asked to "like" the social media post, follow the Instagram accounts of Dr. Martens and Vosseteig, and tag a friend in the comments. The company is not selling the one-of-a-kind pair of boots.

The pair of customized boots featured an illustration of a transgender person with double mastectomy scars, rainbows, and the text "queer joy." According to Dr. Marten, the shoes were "inspired by the queer community."

Vosseteig also shared photographs of her shoes on Instagram, writing, "I love that docs supports the lgbtq+ community and small artists and I am so proud of these shoes! As y'all know, I love expressing queer joy in my art and I'm really happy with how I could translate that onto these boots. Now I (and whoever is the giveaway winner) can walk around showing queer pride."

The company received pushback for promoting double mastectomy surgeries on healthy young women.

"Removing the healthy breasts of girls should be as alarming as if the amputation of healthy limbs was happening as part of a social contagion," Moms for Liberty co-founder Tiffany Justice wrote on Twitter. "What if thousands of kids were removing their right arms?"

Dr. Martens, which has consistently been an outspoken advocate for the LGBT+ community, has used its "DIY Docs" initiative to promote many queer-identifying artists' customized shoe designs. Several of the pro-LGBT boots were shared as a partnership with the activist group the Trevor Project.

In June, the footwear company promoted a pair of artist-designed boots featuring illustrations of rainbows with a planetary space theme.

"Illustrator @sarah.epperson tells us about the inspiration behind her customized #DIYDocs and how we can help contribute to creating a safe space for all," Dr. Martens wrote.

That same month, the footwear brand posted photographs of another pair of artist-designed shoes that read, "Trans joy."

Again in May, the company shared a DIY pair on Instagram, stating, "Pride is more than a single moment in the calendar. Gender identity and sexual orientation are important every single day."

6-year-old girl forced to perform sex act on boy while another classmate filmed: Report

6-year-old girl forced to perform sex act on boy while another classmate filmed: Report

Parents whose children attend an elementary school in Texas are demanding answers after they learned that a first-grade girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by other students during class.

On April 19, an unnamed 6-year-old girl was reportedly forced underneath a desk at South Elementary School in Plainview, Texas, and made to perform a sex act on another student while yet another classmate filmed it on a school-issued iPad. According to a statement issued by the district, the incident "occurred away from the full vision of the teacher," who was then attending to another group of students.

The school apparently learned about the incident the following day after another teacher confiscated the devices of several students who were not performing their assigned tasks. One such device was protected by a password and required the assistance of a technician to unlock. Once the device was unlocked, school officials discovered "inappropriate content," the statement said. The content is believed to be related to the alleged sexual assault of the young girl, though administrators have not confirmed that suspicion since the incident involves "minors" who "have a right to privacy," the statement said.

According to the district's statement, both law enforcement and Child Protective Services have been involved in investigating the matter. By April 27, the teacher had been placed on administrative leave, pending further investigation, and each of the students involved had been interviewed and their parents contacted, the district claimed.

The girl's family has told a different story, saying they learned about the incident from the girl, not from school administrators. According to the family, the girl began behaving strangely at the time of the alleged incident. Her adult cousin, Heather Gonzales, shared that the girl complained of stomachaches and other ailments. "She’s in distress," Gonzales said. "... You can tell something’s wrong with her."

When pressed, the girl reportedly first revealed that a male student had exposed himself to her at lunch. She later divulged the alleged sexual assault, telling her family that she repeatedly hit one of her assailants with "a poetry book" during the attack and kept fighting "until they let [her] go."

Gonzales claimed that the school stonewalled the family when they tried to get answers about the incident. "Everything was 'no comment. I cannot tell you. No comment,'" she said.

Outrage about the district's supposed lack of transparency has led to at least two public protests, and school was canceled on May 8 because of ongoing "threats of violence to teachers and staff members," the Plainview Herald reported. Still, parents are refusing to back down.

"A 6-year-old was exposed to things that even adults would have a hard time overcoming," said a parent of a student at another elementary school. "This is trauma at its worst, and it is a trickle-down effect because it affects everyone around them."

Sarah Fields, a self-described Republican and "investigative" journalist, asserted that the district has even threatened teachers and staff with retaliation if they speak publicly about the incident. "Teacher and staff are being told to be quiet or they will be fired," Fields tweeted. "The family is being treated by the school as if they caused this and that this is their fault. We will not be quiet and we will not sit down." Fields stated that yet another protest is scheduled for May 18 during a local board of trustees meeting.

“Update on Plainview ISD - A protest is arranged. The event will take place on May 18th at the Plainview ISD complex during the school board of trustee meeting. We will be gathering to show our support for a family whose first-grade child was sexually assaulted in class by a group…”
— Sarah Fields (@Sarah Fields) 1683416447

Despite the negative publicity, Plainview ISD Superintendent H.T. Sanchez defended his actions and the actions of other district staff and administrators. "We hope to find a direction with [parents and students] forward," Sanchez said. "Definitely for the young people and how we can help them heal and move forward." As of Monday afternoon, the school website is down, and the district's Twitter and Facebook accounts have not commented on the incident.

"My cousin is still at a desk with all boys, having to see her abusers every day," Gonzales said. "... Are you letting these other parents know their kids could possibly be a victim next? I feel like, as a parent, you should know."

"All of the steps that we’re required to take, we took," Sanchez insisted.

'We like our beer cold, not woke': Sanders trolls Bud Light, capitalizes on brand backlash with 'REAL WOMEN OF POLITICS' koozies

Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders (R) is trolling Bud Light with a video advertising "REAL WOMEN OF POLITICS," koozies.

The ad, which is an apparent play on the old "REAL MEN of GENIUS" ads, suggests that "you can salute the real women of politics" at barbeques and tailgates, but if the koozie "covers up the label of a big woke company, well, that works too."

Each of the koozies bears the message "REAL WOMAN" and features one of four female Republican governors, including either, Sanders, Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey, South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, or Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds.

"We like our beer cold, not woke," Sanders tweeted.

Sanders, who took office earlier this year after winning election in the state's 2022 gubernatorial contest, is the daughter of former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee — she previously served as White House press secretary during a portion of President Donald Trump's tenure in office.

Anheuser-Busch has been facing backlash after enlisting transgender figure Dylan Mulvaney to advertise Bud Light.

GOP presidential primary candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has also sought to capitalize on the wave of anti-Bud Light sentiment by selling "BUD RIGHT" koozies that bear the messages "TRUTH OVER RELATIVISM" and "COURAGE IS CONTAGIOUS."

A video shared on the DeSantis War Room Twitter account also spoofed the old ad campaign by focusing on the "real men of women's sports" — the video directs people to an online store where they can purchase Team DeSantis "Freedom Heavy" merchandise.

"In Florida, girls play girls' sports and boys play boys' sports. That's why we are replacing Bud Light with FREEDOM HEAVY," a tweet states.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a Republican, is widely viewed as a figure who might launch a White House bid.

Theater roof collapses during sold-out show; tornadoes, severe storms rip Midwest, South killing at least 7

Theater roof collapses during sold-out show; tornadoes, severe storms rip Midwest, South killing at least 7

At least seven people were killed as tornado-spawning storms ripped through the South and the Midwest Friday, multiple outlets reported.

"Chaos, absolute chaos," Belvidere Police Chief Shane Woody said, describing the scene of a roof and marquee collapse during a sold-out show at the Apollo Theatre in northern Illinois, near Rockford.

"When officers are first on the scene, when the fire department and first responders get here, they do the best they can to control the chaos as much as possible. But ultimately, we go in, and ultimately try and find people, and save as many people as we possibly can – and bring them to safety as best as we can," Chief Woody also said.

"I was in there within a minute before it came down, concert-goer Gabrielle Lewellyn told WTVO. "The winds, when I was walking up to the building, it went like from zero to a thousand within five seconds."

The packed metal concert had reportedly been underway for less than an hour when the storm struck the century-old venue, killing at least one person and injuring dozens more.

Severe storms and tornadoes also struck other states Friday, including Arkansas, Indiana, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Mississippi, the New York Times reported.

"We will spare no resource to assist with response and recovery efforts for Arkansans impacted," Arkansas Governor Sarah Sanders (R) tweeted Friday night. The The Natural State governor signed an executive order declaring a state of emergency after severe weather gutted part of Little Rock and other towns.

The city of Wynne in northeastern Arkansas was "cut in half by damage from east to west," Wynne Mayor Jennifer Hobbs told CNN. At least two people died in the town with a population of about 8,274.

"Today has been a very hard day for the state of Arkansas," Gov. Sanders said in a news conference. Sanders activated the National Guard to assist the Arkansas State Police and local law enforcement.

"Our message and our mission is really simple," Sanders said. "The people come first and the paperwork will come second."

The apparent tornado that devastated portions of West Little Rock may have traveled more than 40 miles, KTHV reported. The National Weather Service called the storms in Arkansas "catastrophic."

Sarah Huckabee Sanders signs Arkansas measure that prohibits admitting minors to 'adult-oriented' performances

Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders has reportedly signed a measure related to restrictions on "adult-oriented" performances.

The measure states that the performances should not occur on public property, allow minors to attend, or be paid for using public funding.

The measure stipulates that "adult-oriented performance" refers to a performance meant "to appeal to the prurient interest" and which includes full or partial nakedness, "a specific sexual activity," or the intentional exposure of "a specific anatomical area" or "prosthetic genitalia or breasts."

Sanders, who was sworn in as governor in January, delivered the Republican address to the nation earlier this month on the heels of President Joe Biden's State of the Union address.

"The dividing line in America is no longer between right or left. The choice is between normal or crazy," she declared during the speech, adding later that "the Biden administration is doubling down on crazy."

"President Biden is unwilling to defend our border, defend our skies, and defend our people. He is simply unfit to serve as commander in chief," the governor declared. She added, "While you reap the consequences of their failures, the Biden administration seems more interested in woke fantasies than the hard reality Americans face every day."

Sanders, who is the daughter of former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, had previously served as White House press secretary during a portion of President Donald Trump's tenure.

Earlier this month, she tweeted, "Biden adamantly refuses to secure the border, stop fentanyl from pouring across it, and save American lives. A total disgrace."

Australian homeowners should pay weekly land tax to indigenous people for '200 years of unchecked genocide,' say senator and activists

Homeowners in Australia are being encouraged by activists, celebrities, and a senator from the Australian Greens party to pay a weekly rent to native groups for living on the land, according to the Daily Mail.

An indigenous rights activist named Robbie Thorpe is spearheading the decades-old campaign called "Pay the Rent," which asks homeowners to pay 1% of their weekly wages to those who claim to have ancestral ownership of parts of Australia. The money is allegedly intended for an unspecified group of Aboriginal elders.

Based on the median income in Australia from 2022, each homeowner would pay a weekly fee of approximately $8.83, which equals $459 per year.

Thorpe said the payment plan is "a rational, reasonable, responsible means of reconciling 200 years of unchecked genocide, as far as I'm concerned."

According to the "Pay the Rent" website, a group called the "Sovereign Body" is responsible for ensuring payments are "centered around First Nations people."

The group currently consists of just three people: a doctor, a writer, and another native activist. However, the group does not yet have a plan for specific allocations of any money collected.

"The Sovereign Body is currently working through how to honour the legacy of the Elders and their role in the movement; and how money allocations can be fair and transparent to First Nation communities."

The activist website displays the phrase "Saying Sorry Isn’t Enough - Pay The Rent" on its homepage, followed by a donation form. Below the donation form the website lists reasons to contribute, which include the idea of "stolen land," a declaration that there is "no treaty" between Aboriginal people and the country of Australia, and that "colonisation continues."

An Australian senator named Lidia Thorpe, who is the niece of the aforementioned activist, supports the agenda of the land tax.

"Pay the rent from grassroots for grassroots. No strings attached to government agenda," the Greens party member stated. "It assists sovereign grassroots fight the many campaigns and struggles we face everyday [sic]," she added.

The campaign also asks for a percentage of any events on the allegedly stolen land, such as weddings or music festivals, the latter of which would require paying 1% of the event's net income to the campaign.

Gov. Sarah Sanders bans critical race theory and leftist indoctrination in Arkansas schools

Republican Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders has beaten one form of cancer. In her new role as Arkansas governor, she plans to tackle another.

Sanders issued an executive order on Tuesday designed to prevent leftist doctrinaires from peddling racial identity politics and leftist activism in schools.

Less Marx, better marks

Within hours of being sworn in to office on Tuesday, Sanders issued multiple executive orders countering leftist speech codes and conventions in the state, including one removing the use of the controversial term "Latinx" in government documents.

In another order "to prohibit indoctrination and critical race theory in schools," Sanders emphasized that the role of schools is to educate, not indoctrinate students. Similarly, teachers are tasked with teaching students how to think, not what to think.

Accordingly, schools' and teachers' days of peddling critical race theory are over.

Christopher Rufo noted in the New York Post that critical race theory was "formulated in the 1990s and built on the intellectual framework of identity-based Marxism."

"Identity is the means; Marxism is the end," wrote Rufo. "Critical race theory prescribes a revolutionary program that would overturn the principles of the Declaration and destroy the remaining structure of the Constitution."

Sanders, who secured over 63% of the vote in the November gubernatorial election, will not allow Arkansas schools to be further weaponized against America.

She noted in her executive order, "Critical Race Theory (CRT) is antithetical to the traditional American values of neutrality, equality, and fairness. It emphasizes skin color as a person’s primary characteristic, thereby resurrecting segregationist values, which America has fought so hard to reject."

Critical race theory has no place in Arkansas schools, she suggested; particularly not when "the Constitution of the State of Arkansas and the Constitution of the United States of America recognize the equal value of every individual, and provide equal protection under the law, regardless of color, creed, race, ethnicity, sex, age, marital status, familial status, disability, religion, and national origin."

The governor's executive order requires that Arkansas' education secretary, Jacob Oliva, ensure that the his department and its employees, contractors, guest speakers, and lecturers are in compliance with the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Furthermore, any and all department rules, regulations, policies, materials, and communications must be reviewed to ensure that leftist discriminatory practices and critical race theory are expurgated.

Sanders' executive order echoes Florida's Individual Freedom Act, which Gov. Ron DeSantis signed into law on April 22. The act prohibits "training or instruction that espouses, promotes, advances, inculcates, or compels" students or employees to believe the core tenets of critical race theory and comparable identitarian theories.

Sanders tweeted Thursday, "Under my leadership, schools will teach reading, writing, math, and science—and our children will learn that the identity that truly matters is the one we all share: our identity as children of God and citizens of the United States of America."

“Under my leadership, schools will teach reading, writing, math, and science—and our children will learn that the identity that truly matters is the one we all share: our identity as children of God and citizens of the United States of America.”
— Sarah Huckabee Sanders (@Sarah Huckabee Sanders) 1673547917

In her inaugural address, Sanders stated, "As long as I am governor, our schools will focus on the skills our children need to get ahead in the modern world, not brainwashing our children with a left-wing political agenda."

Brian Stelter tries to pull a Kaepernick in laughable last show — only proves he DESERVED the boot

NewsBusters' Curtis Houck was kind enough to suffer through Brian Stelter's last episode of "Reliable Sources" so the rest of us didn't have to (not that we would have, but thanks anyway, Curtis.)

CNN's new CEO, Chris Licht, has made plans to cull the failing far-left network of its most obnoxious partisan hacks, and Stelter's last show proved beyond a doubt that Licht chose his first victim wisely.

“We're barely five minutes into the final Reliable Sources and the arrogance and hatred for conservatives that "the truth is not neutral" with Stelter and Carl Bernstein is flowing.

They've already shown why it's being canceled.”
— Curtis Houck (@Curtis Houck) 1661094411

So, apparently, Stelter is a martyr, believing in something (horrible and dangerous called the far right) and sacrificing everything — just like a certain social justice warrior and former NFL quarterback.

“Second segment for Brian Stelter's final show -- the risk to the lives of journalists and how dangerous it is to be one in America because of the far-right.

Ah, yes. Being a journalist in America is JUST like reporting in China, Myanmar, North Korea, and Russia!”
— Curtis Houck (@Curtis Houck) 1661095074

He also celebrated himself as "patriotic" for standing up to "demagogues" who are "lying to our faces."

“.@brianstelter closes Reliable Sources by saying, "I know it is not partisan to stand up for decency and democracy and dialogue. It is not partisan to stand up to demagogues. It is patriotic. We must make sure we don't give platforms to those lying to our faces."”
— Sarah Reese Jones (@Sarah Reese Jones) 1661098970

Wow, what a great guy. Shockingly, not everyone agreed with Stelter's self-assessment.

“Good riddance, Stelter. You and your ilk have done grave damage to a free press.
https://t.co/rtYKJ9AIga”
— Mark R. Levin (@Mark R. Levin) 1660847185
“@CurtisHouck @ComfortablySmug Almost as dangerous as being a Supreme Court Judge.”
— Curtis Houck (@Curtis Houck) 1661095074
“This is something CNN, Brian Stelter, and 'Reliable Sources' NEVER accept -- the First Amendment applies to ALL of us, not just journalists.

We have a RIGHT to offer legitimate criticism of the press and doing so is NOT violent or a death threat.”
— Curtis Houck (@Curtis Houck) 1661095208
“Stelter & Darcy were the Baghdad Bob's for Democrats and did more to damage the reputation of journalism (if more could actually be done) than any other two people in the industry. They acted directly on the behest and behalf of the DNC presenting unreliable & dishonest sources.”
— Fusilli Spock (@Fusilli Spock) 1661100199
“CNN's Brian Stelter decries outside criticism of journalism as a "poisonous cloud" that's spread throughout the country and around the world.

He adds he's "proud" to have worked at a network when they knew they had to fight and attack Trump.”
— Curtis Houck (@Curtis Houck) 1661095611
“Congratulations to Brian Stelter for being the only person to ever leave CNN for a non-penis-related reason.”
— Scott Adams (@Scott Adams) 1660948899

While some hosts at BlazeTV, such as Glenn Beck, tried to be gracious about Stelter's exit, others couldn't help celebrating. On "The News & Why It Matters," BlazeTV host Sara Gonzales and guests talked about Stelter getting the ax and the future of CNN.
