'This is an invasion': Shocking video footage shows mob of angry migrants breach border, rush National Guard soldiers

Hundreds of migrants stormed National Guard soldiers and breached razor wire near El Paso on Thursday — and the shocking moment was caught on video.

On Thursday morning, hundreds of migrants breached a razor-wire barrier and overwhelmed a small group of National Guard soldiers, video shows. The group of storming migrants then encountered a permanent border barrier, which impeded their illegal entry into the United States.

The group of migrants who rushed the border consisted of mostly men, the New York Post reported.

According to the El Paso Times, some of the migrants had been camping on the banks of the Rio Grande River for three days.

The National Guard soldiers were attempting to organize the migrants into smaller groups, according to the Post, when some women and children were allegedly separated from the group. That's when the situation became tense and migrants rushed the soldiers and pushed through the border.

Despite the shocking footage, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) said that officials quickly regained control of the situation and arrested some of the migrants involved.

"The TX National Guard & Dept. of Public Safety quickly regained control & are redoubling the razor wire barriers," Abbott explained. "DPS is instructed to arrest every illegal immigrant involved for criminal trespass & destruction of property."

Still, the footage is emblematic of everything wrong with the border under President Joe Biden's control: a seemingly unending number of migrants coming to the U.S., while Texas — not the federal government — is trying to stop the flow.

Republicans, meanwhile, described the incident as an "invasion."

  • "Every American should witness this chilling footage. This is the result of the Biden Administration refusing to secure our border and protect America," House Speaker Mike Johnson (R) said.
  • "This assault on our sovereignty is an invasion at the invitation of Joe Biden," Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) said.
  • "The Biden Border Crisis is an invasion. Anyone who says differently is lying to you," Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said.
  • "This is an invasion.Biden invited it," Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) reacted.
  • "Now that the illegal alien mob of military age men knows they can bum rush border personnel without consequence or an appropriate response with force to repel it, we have entered a new and extremely dangerous phase of Biden’s invasion," Rep. Bob Good (R-Va.) said.
  • "@POTUS and @SecMayorkas won’t say this is a crisis, they’ll only say it’s a 'challenge.' No, Mr. President, this is an invasion, and you’re doing nothing to protect America," Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wisc.) said.

'This is what an invasion looks like': Video shows Mexican train reportedly 'bursting' with migrants heading to US southern border

A Mexican train is transporting dozens of migrants to the U.S. southern border, according to a new report.

Fox News national correspondent Griff Jenkins posted an alarming video of the migrant train on the X social media platform on Sunday afternoon.

Griff captioned the video: "FOX News sources capture a FerroMex train bursting with migrants out of Zacatecas heading to our southern border right now… cheering and clearly not heeding the message: 'do not come."

Zacatecas is a Mexican state located in north-central Mexico.

The FerroMex website states: "We operate the largest railroad network in Mexico, with more than 6,200 miles of track covering the major industrial and commercial zones in the country, connecting with the rest of the world through 8 seaports and 6 border crossings."

Griff was quoting Vice President Harris from June 2021.

During a press conference in Guatemala with the Central America country's president, Harris told migrants, "I want to be clear to folks in this region who are thinking about making that dangerous trek to the United States-Mexico border. Do not come. Do not come. The United States will continue to enforce our laws and secure our border."

President Joe Biden tapped Kamala as the country's border czar in March 2021. Harris has only visited the U.S. southern border once since being tasked with handling the illegal immigration crisis.

The video of the migrant train went viral online, racking up half a million views in less than two hours. The footage caught the attention of concerned Republicans and conservatives.

Republican Rep. Andy Biggs of Arizona declared, "This is what an invasion looks like. Nothing about this is regular or lawful."

Rep. Cory Mills (R-Fla.) demanded, "This must be stopped immediately. The @SenateDems must take up @GOPHouseOfRep passed H.R. 2, impeach @SecMayorkas for allowing our country to be invaded and American lives lost, and stop ALL funding to these nations who allow our borders to be overrun. Call your Senators and tell them to pass H.R. 2 Secure The Border Act."

NewsNation national correspondent Jorge Ventura reacted by saying, "The Biden administration can keep putting out the messaging that the ‘border is closed,' it’s clear migrants coming to the U.S. border don’t believe it."

Podcast host Monica Crowley tweeted, "INVASION."

Also on Sunday, Fox News national correspondent Bill Melugin shared a video of "numerous illegal immigrants dressed in camouflage using ropes to scale the border wall, then run off into the desert without apprehension in Naco, AZ."

Melgin noted that there have been more than 1.5 million "gotaways" since Joe Biden became president.

The New York Post reported in May, "More than 1.5 million illegal migrants have slipped into the U.S. since Joe Biden took office — more than three times the number recorded during the last three years of Trump’s presidency, Department of Homeland Security data shows."

CNN host has enough of DHS secretary's excuses, directly confronts him about border crisis: 'If that's not a crisis, Secretary, what is?'

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas bent over backward Friday to prevent himself from admitting that the border crisis is, in fact, a "crisis."

What is the background?

Mayorkas has a history of downplaying the seriousness of the border crisis.

Despite a record number of migrants entering the U.S. under President Joe Biden's leadership, Mayorkas has repeatedly said throughout his tenure as DHS secretary that the border is "not open" but "closed."

What happened on CNN?

During an interview on "CNN This Morning," anchor Poppy Harlow directly asked Mayorkas whether what is happening at the border qualifies as a "crisis."

But Mayorkas refused to acknowledge it as such.

"You know, we have seen the situation at the border managed in an orderly way," he claimed. "We have seen it in extraordinary challenging circumstances as well. You can rest assured, Poppy, that we're doing everything that we possibly can to build a system that provides humanitarian relief in a safe and orderly way, while trying to persuade Congress to fix what is a broken system."

His refusal, however, only emboldened Harlow to press the issue further.

"But just what you're seeing, what you've seen the 20 times you've been there — the record number of migrants at the southern border — and last year it was nearly 2.4 million," she responded.

"If that's not a crisis, Secretary, what is?" she asked point-blank.

Mayorkas, in response, claimed the border crisis is a global issue that is "reflective of the greatest level of displacement of people in the world since World War II."

"It is reflective of a migration challenge that is gripping the entire hemisphere," he alleged.

"When I was in Colombia, I spoke with the president of the country, the foreign minister, the minister of security, and they spoke of 2.4 million Venezuelans in Columbia now. We're seeing Costa Rica's population increasingly formed by Nicaraguans," he continued. "We're seeing a tremendous movement of people throughout the hemisphere.

"A regional challenge requires a regional solution, which is why President Biden has led the regional leaders in addressing it," Mayorkas defended.

Anything else?

Despite Biden announcing new immigration plans to finally address the border crisis — including the expansion of Title 42 expulsions — Mayorkas once again claimed on Thursday that the border "is not open."

VIDEO: Migrant caravan bulldoze Mexican National Guard; organizer says Biden admin's policies pulling illegal immigrants to US 'like cattle'

Several thousand migrants from Haiti, South America, and Central America are making their way north to the southern border of the United States. Mexican law enforcement attempted to utilize a roadblock to stop the massive migrant caravan in southern Mexico, but the migrants easily steamrolled their way past the large group of officers.

Approximately 3,000 migrants marched in the southern Mexican city of Tapachula – about 10 miles from the Guatemala border. There are reports that members of the caravan were carrying signs with President Joe Biden's name on them, including one that read: "Joe Biden Is For All."

Caravan organizer Irineo Mujica said the Biden administration's immigration policies are pulling migrants to the U.S. "like cattle."

Mujica said the migrants should be given an opportunity to work in Mexico "because a lot of them don't want to be brought to the U.S. but the Biden administration, with this administration, it's like pulling them like cattle, first they come to this jail and then they go to the northern border."

Mujica then said President Biden "doesn't seem to have a clue what to do with immigration."

"They're just in denial of their own fault. They haven't been able to handle immigration," Mujica said of the Biden administration. "If I tell you the truth, I believe at least with Donald Trump we knew what we had. With Biden, we don't know. He doesn't seem to have a clue what to do with immigration because he says one thing and does another."

Mujica proclaimed that Biden hasn't kept his promises to take care of illegal immigrants.

The migrant caravan could be racing to the U.S. southern border before the Biden administration is forced to restart Trump's "remain in Mexico" policy – which is expected to resume next month. The "remain in Mexico" policy – also known as the Migrant Protection Protocols – will be reinstated because a federal judge blocked the Biden administration from terminating the immigration policy. The Biden administration appealed its case to the U.S. Supreme Court, but they ruled that the current administration must make a "good faith effort" to restart the program.

Under the Migrant Protection Protocols, migrant asylum seekers must wait in Mexico for their U.S. court hearings.

Last year, U.S. Customs and Border Protection made a record number of illegal immigrant arrests along the U.S.-Mexico border. A report found that more than 1.7 million border arrests were made in the 2021 fiscal year, beating the previous record set in 1986.
