Richard Grenell warns people to be afraid of the government, then fires back at Adam Kinzinger for telling him to 'Shut up'

Richard Grenell, who has previously served as U.S. ambassador to Germany, acting director of National Intelligence, and special presidential envoy for Serbia and Kosovo peace negotiations, has urged people to be afraid of the government.

"Fear your government! They are coming for you. Biden has turned it into a system that listens to you, watches your transactions, cancels you for disagreeing with them and censoring your opinions. It's getting worse. And no one in DC is worried because they are the perpetrators," Grenell wrote on X.

Former U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois, a Republican, offered a two-word response to Grenell's assertions: "Shut up."

Grenell responded, "lol. Debate, Adam. Don't shut down dissent views. Your J6 committee didn't have a single dissenting voice on the entire committee - everyone agreed….but that isn't the real world."

As a member of Congress, Kinzinger voted in favor of impeaching then-President Donald Trump on the heels of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. Kinzinger was one of the two Republicans to serve on the House Select Committee that was supposed to investigate the Jan. 6 incident. He became a CNN senior political commentator after leaving office.

Grenell has said that "Democrats are afraid of dissenting views" and "are crushing and cancelling people who don't comply" with the media assisting. "It's unAmerican and intolerant," he wrote.

"If you value counter culture or dissenting views, you must throw out Democrats from power," Grenell has asserted.

When someone on social media claimed that the government only goes after people who violate the law, Grenell responded by calling the commenter "naive."

Baltimore mayor tells unvaccinated citizens to 'shut up': 'It's your fault that we're going back to having an indoor mask mandate'

Democratic Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott left no doubt who he blames for the spike in COVID-19 cases in his city — and the subsequent resumption of mask mandates.

"For anyone that's frustrated about wearing a mask — and you're not vaccinated — then look in the mirror. It's your fault that we're going back to having an indoor mask mandate," Scott said last Friday. "Make sure that folks get vaccinated. If you're not vaccinated, shut up. Don't complain."

How did folks react?

As you might guess, more than a few folks on Twitter didn't take too kindly to Scott's throwdown against the unvaccinated:

  • "No, Mayor, show us actual STUDIES, NOT opinions that masks, etc. work. You can't, because there are NO studies that have shown that they DO work, only that they MIGHT have SOME benefit AND that they MIGHT cause some harm. Also, > 99% survival for MOST people," one commenter wrote. "So, YOU shut up!"
  • "Damn, Baltimore elected this guy?" another user quipped. "You don't even have to present as moderately intelligent for democrats to vote for you anymore."
  • "Another medically illiterate idiot just parroting what the establishment says," another commenter said.
  • "No, it's YOUR fault," another user declared. "You're the person forcing people to do things against their will. You're the tyrant. I'm an adult and I already have a daddy. You're making decisions about other people's lives that you have no right to make."
  • "And yet … a buddy of mine just got COVID from a vaxed individual, that had called of sick the week prior, ended up testing positive. His whole family got [COVID]," another commenter shared. "Again: From a vaxed co-worker. So stop saying it's someone's fault and admit there is no sure fire way to fix this!"

WJZ-TV reported that new COVID-19 cases in Baltimore City are up 749% in just one month but deaths remain down.

Anything else?

Baltimore County officials also pressed for more vaccinations.

"Take it from me as a COVID survivor. Getting the vaccine can truly mean the difference between life or death," Baltimore County Health Officer Dr. Gregory Branch told the station, adding, "That Delta variant is a beast, and what we're trying to do is prevent the next one."

Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski noted to WJZ that the "we're focused on getting vaccines in arms. That is our best tool, and it's how we avoid any other steps" and that "with school starting in a few weeks, we must increase our vaccination rates. The urgency is as great as it's ever been."

'Will you shut up, man?': Joe Biden descends into high school fight mode with Trump in first debate

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden didn't exactly treat President Donald Trump in stately fashion early in their first debate Tuesday night.

Biden called Trump "buddy," said, "this man doesn't know what he's talking about," challenged him to "keep yappin'" — and at one point asked Fox News moderator Chris Wallace and the socially distanced audience, "Folks, do you have any idea what this clown's doing?"

But the former vice president's heaviest hit at that point was pleading with the leader of the free world during one of their nearly countless contentious exchanges, "Will you shut up, man?"

Say it ain't so, Joe

Most folks probably figured Biden would unearth some version of his famous angry pushback that inevitably ends with his hippy-forward suffix ... "man!"

At least one "C'mon, man!" would have done the trick.

But no, Biden pulled out the big guns and let loose: "Will you shut up, man?"

It has to be a first for presidential debating.

What brought that on?

Wallace asked Biden if he would level with the American people regarding whether he's willing to end the Senate filibuster and pack the Supreme Court with more than its nine justices in order to bring a majority back to the political left wing, but Biden dodged the question.

And Trump — as Trump does — pushed, repeating Wallace's question to Biden.

"Are you gonna pack the court? Are you gonna pack the court?" Trump repeatedly asked Biden. "He doesn't want to answer the question."

Biden then let loose with, "Will you shut up, man?"

Trump, who's easily heard much harsher questions, pressed on: "Who is on your list, Joe?

"He's so unpresidential," Biden remarked.

Here's the clip. There are plenty of fireworks leading up to Biden's "shut up" question, but if you want to cut to the chase, that portion hits right around the 5-minute mark:
