Biden-Harris DOJ drops charges against illegal aliens who allegedly tried to breach US military base

The Biden-Harris administration's Department of Justice has quietly and mysteriously dropped the charges against two Jordanian nationals who allegedly attempted to breach a Virginia military base in May.

Hasan Yousef Hamdan and Mohammad Khair Dabous, both in the country illegally, were accused of attempting to enter Quantico Marine Corps Base near Triangle, Virginia, while posing as Amazon delivery drivers, Blaze News previously reported.

'This whole case is more than curious.'

After they failed to produce access credentials, guards instructed the men to wait in a holding area for a secondary inspection. Instead of following the directive, the men reportedly attempted to proceed into the military base. Guards swiftly deployed vehicle denial barriers and prevented the men from entering.

One of the Jordanian nationals illegally crossed the southern border approximately a month before the incident, and the other man allegedly overstayed a student visa. Due to their illegal immigration status, the men were previously turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement, but they were released from federal custody.

The two men were facing misdemeanor trespassing charges after the May incident. However, in July, the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Eastern District of Virginia ordered their release on the condition that they attend their immigration proceedings and avoid military installations, Blaze News previously reported. They were released from detention after posting bail for their alleged crimes.

On Friday, the Washington Times reported that the Justice Department "quietly dismissed the charges" against Hamdan and Dabous.

The U.S. attorney in eastern Virginia dropped the charges in the interest of "the ends of justice," which the Times referred to as "boilerplate language" that failed to reveal any details about the decision.

Lawyers for the two men blamed the incident on a language barrier, claiming that Dabous was attempting to complete a delivery when he failed to understand the guard's instructions.

The Times reported that by September, it appeared prosecutors believed the event was a misunderstanding, yet they did not move to have the charges dropped until October 3.

Todd Bensman, a senior national security fellow for the Center for Immigration Studies, told the Times, "This whole case is more than curious."

"The government had many, many opportunities to dispel the notion that there was something more nefarious about this than met the eye. And they took a pass every time," he noted.

Congress requested more information about the incident, but according to House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green (R-Tenn.), the Biden-Harris administration has been "delinquent" in answering lawmakers' questions.

Green told the Times, "We are aware that one of these men entered through the southwest border, claimed asylum, and was released into the interior just a month prior to the incident at Quantico."

"The circumstances surrounding this event remain concerning, and I urge the Biden-Harris administration to respond without further delay to Congress and the American people," he said.

The U.S. attorney's office and Hamdan's lawyer declined a request for comment from the Times. Dabous' legal representation did not respond to the news outlet's request.

Illegal aliens’ attempted breach of military base was ‘dry run’ for future attack, says former staffer

Dave Katz, a former federal firearms instructor who worked at Marine Corps Base Quantico near Triangle, Virginia, toldFox News Digital that the attempted breach of the base earlier this month by two foreign nationals may have been a "dry run" for a future attack.

Katz, a former DEA agent and the CEO and founder of Global Security Group, warned that a similar, more dangerous incident could occur again. He told Fox News Digital, "Driving the box truck was a dry run for driving a box truck that was not going to be empty the second time."

"Can I prove that? No. But it's like the 9/11 hijackers trying to get aboard planes with box cutters on other occasions prior to actually perpetrating the act," he added.

'This would be the very first terror attack on US soil from somebody who crossed the border illegally.'

Katz called the incident at the military base the "equivalent of a feasibility study" for the two Jordanian nationals who allegedly executed the stunt.

On May 3, two males driving a box truck attempted to enter the base when they were stopped by security,Blaze News previously reported. The men told the guards they were contracted drivers trying to complete an Amazon delivery. After failing to produce proper identification, law enforcement authorities instructed the men to wait in a holding area so that a secondary check could be conducted.

Captain Michael Curtis toldPotomac Local News, the local media outlet that first reported the incident, that the men ignored the guard's instructions and attempted "to move the vehicle past the holding area."

Authorities quickly engaged the vehicle-denial barriers, preventing the box truck from proceeding. Curtis reported that the two men were turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement. It has since been confirmed that both of the individuals were in the United States illegally.

One of the men illegally crossed the southern border into California in April, while the other male was in the country with an expired student visa.

Katz told Fox News Digital that he is skeptical of the men's cover story.

"A student overstay somehow gets in contact with someone illegally crossing into the U.S. on the other side of the country. Both of them wind up in that truck," Katz stated. "There is no possible explanation for what happened other than a sinister one."

"Can anyone come up with any reasonable explanation as to why two illegal aliens from Jordan would be driving a box truck in a sensitive area, other than to try to make a dry run for a future incident?" Katz continued. "If you can't provide an explanation for that, it's terror related."

Fox News Digital reported that neither ICE nor the FBI responded to a request for comment.

The federal government has not announced any evidence of a terrorism motivation, but it has not been ruled out either, Todd Bensman with the Center for Immigration Studies recentlyreported. He believes the incident marks the "first-ever border-crossing terror attack."

During a recent interview on the "Conservative Review with Daniel Horowitz," Bensman said, "If this is what I strongly believe it is, a terror attack on a highly symbolic U.S. military base ... then, this would be the very first terror attack on U.S. soil from somebody who crossed the border illegally."

Bensman told Horowitz that such an event would be "highly significant in an electoral sense."

"The Biden administration is already failing on that issue in such a significant way that he could lose the election over the border crisis. If you were to add a terror attack — national security consummation of a national from a terror attack — then, Donald Trump would obviously grab that like a sledgehammer and start swinging it non stop. I don't think Donald Trump even knows about this yet," Bensman continued. "But even more important than the political aspect of it is the fact that if they don't tell us that this wasn't a terror attack, if they don't rule it out, or rule it in, and ... it just goes away. That means that they are opting to just not fix a major problem at the border."

Liberal pundits are celebrating seeming immigration-related victories after recent historic highs in illegal border crossings.

House Committee investigates surge of Chinese nationals illegally crossing border after Biden relaxes vetting: Report

The House Homeland Security Committee's Subcommittee on Oversight, Investigations, and Accountability plans to investigate the surge of Chinese nationals illegally crossing the border after the Biden administration relaxed the vetting process, the Daily Caller News Foundation reported.

According to Customs and Border Protection reporting, in the first six months of fiscal year 2024, border agents nationwide encountered 42,000 Chinese nationals compared to 18,000 during the same period the previous fiscal year.

The committee will hold a hearing on Thursday to discuss the approximately 8,000% increase in Chinese illegal immigration in the United States since March 2021, a spokesperson for the committee told the DCNF.

'We have no idea who they are, why they're here, and what their history is.'

U.S. Representative Dan Bishop (R-North Carolina), chair of the subcommittee, told the news outlet that a "wide-open border presents a ripe opportunity for the [Chinese Communist Party] to undermine our national security."

"This dramatic surge calls for intense scrutiny — especially as Border Patrol agents have been instructed to decrease vetting for Chinese nationals in order to process them into the country faster," Bishop stated. "As the CCP continues its quest for geopolitical dominance and threatens our sovereignty, we must examine the risks presented by releasing ever-increasing numbers of minimally vetted Chinese nationals into our communities."

Todd Bensman, a senior national fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies, is one of three experts expected to testify during Thursday's hearing.

Bensman told the DCNF, "Intelligence community assessments show that China intends to ramp up espionage and political suppression campaigns in the coming years inside the U.S. and will need an expanded labor force for the effort."

The news outlet revealed earlier this year that the Biden administration had instructed CBP to significantly reduce the number of questions posed to Chinese nationals who had entered the country illegally since April 2023. The vetting process, which previously consisted of 40 questions, was reduced to five, effectively fast-tracking the illegal aliens' release into the interior of the country. According to the internal email obtained by the DCNF, the questions concerned "Military Service," "Universities," "POB/Region," "Employment," and "Political Party."

Bensman told the DCNF that the administration's policies have "created pitch-perfect conditions" for "the infiltration of Chinese agents of espionage." During his testimony, Bensman is expected to share photographs of identification cards and passports abandoned by Chinese nationals before crossing the border illegally.

Bill Wells, the mayor of El Cajon, California, recently shared a video on X showing hundreds of discarded and torn IDs found near the San Diego border. He noted that some of the IDs had been lit on fire.

Why are illegal immigrants ripping up their IDs and passports when they enter America? They want to create a new identity so that Border Patrol has no idea who they are.\n\nI visited @thecorygoat house, who lives next to the border and has picked up hundreds of torn-up IDs around\u2026
— (@)

"There's a reason for that — they don't want anyone to know who they are. They want to apply for asylum, get their court date for five years in the future, and disappear into the interior of the country," Wells told Blaze News. "We have no idea who they are, why they're here, and what their history is."

Glenn Beck: Here's how the 15k Haitians got to our border and WHO they are

Todd Bensman, senior national security fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies, joined Glenn Beck on the radio program to share the new information he's gathered after spending time with the thousands of Haitians who arrived at our southern border earlier this month.

Bensman explained how the Haitian migrants got to Del Rio, Texas, where they actually came from, and why Democrats should stop pretending this group is in "dire straits" for a better life.

"Most of the Haitians that are coming are not fleeing earthquakes in Haiti. And they're not fleeing presidential assassination. Or even grinding poverty. They have been living in Chile and Brazil for many years ... in relative prosperity. And with resident cards. And with permission to work in those countries," Bensman said. "But they saw the Biden administration opening the border, bang, in January [and] February and they started to come en masse. And that is really what is behind this. These people are not asylum seekers, like a lot of Democrats are saying. Lawmakers on the progressive left [are] talking about, you know, we have to bring in these poor people who are in dire straits. They are not in dire straits at all. And I think people need to understand that, when they apply for asylum, they will be lying and committing mass asylum fraud, because they're going to skip over the fact that they were living safely and securely in these other countries."
